    Tiramisu
    Dana S.

I really enjoyed my meal here and had a good experience from start to finish. All of the staff was very friendly. They have the "Please wait to be seated" sign, but they let me choose where I wanted to sit, and when I realized that the table I chose outside was putting me right in the hot sun, they were cool with me moving inside. I had "Lyndsay's plant pizza" (the cheeseless vegan pizza) and a tiramisu. The veggie pizza was loaded with toppings and the vegetables they chose worked harmoniously together, except the kale tasted a little raw. I didn't miss the cheese. I cannot overstate how good the crust was! There were a few spots with a bit too much char, but even with that, the texture of this crust was heavenly. The tiramisu was also fantastic. It was served as two jumbo ladyfingers doused in cream. Again, textures here were great - the ladyfingers were soft but not soggy, and the cream was velvety smooth. The bitter coffee in the ladyfingers perfectly complemented and balanced out the sweet cream topping. I was a little surprised by the high prices. I ended up spending about $50 for a meal for one after tip! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Kind of a small place, but the laid back atmosphere felt homely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It would be nice if they had real glasses for water and a plate for the tiramisu instead of paper.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not quite a 5 star, but a very enthusiastic 4 stars from me. I could rave about that pizza crust.

Came for a late lunch around 3:30pm after a surf lesson at Chesterman. Ordered a Marg and Romano pizza with garlic dipping sauce and two things of beer. Pros: - [[HIGHLIGHT]]cute decor with huge windows to take in the ocean-mountain view[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - friendly staff - parking lot right next to the restaurant with a couple spots for patrons with 2hr max - super thin crust and pie came out piping hot - pizza toppings are very fresh with plenty of it Notes: - We were there for approx. an hour (approx. wait for the pizza was about 20-25 minutes) and the server came over with the bill. We still had half a beer to enjoy. The server was chatty and friendly, but I really would have rather not received the bill unprompted. Mind you, there were a few tables opens directly next to us. - The garlic dipping sauce was $4/unit and it was slightly congealed on the top. It comes in really small takeaway container. For the cost, it doesn't feel like the best quality and portion size, especially for a dine-in experience. - The Romano came with plenty of capers and olives, which made it on the saltier side and not as balanced with the flavor profile - the cost for the pizzas was also pretty expensive compared to what we were used to in Vancouver, about 30% more

I don't know if I have enough time or words to talk about how much we LOOOOVE Basic Goodness Pizza. First off, you can't beat authentic Italian in TOFINO! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the location. Love the vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The owner and chef is the kindest and watching him interact with local kids coming in to make pizza is the icing on the tiramisu. The pizzas are all phenomenal and the wine selection is perfection. Always look forward to visiting when in Tofino

We caught them as they were just about to close, but they were so gracious to let us in and throw one last pizza in the fire for us. We were glad that they did, as we got to try their Funghi Bianca pizza which was AMAZING. Outstanding crust, delicious mushrooms on just the right amount of seasonings and cheese. A pizza will run you from 15-30 dollars, but you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend. Thank you for opening your doors and giving us one last pizza before you closed!

Great pizza joint in Tofino! I would have given this 5 stars but I think the owner is also the cook so it took awhile for our pizza to come out and also they only did take out for limited times so we couldn't take out at dinner time. That aside, this place has crazy good pizza. The crust was super yummy and Napoleon style. The tomato sauce is delicious. Toppings were a great variety. We also ordered the Caprese salad and I loved it as they used different types of tomatoes! Right amount of salt and pepper and olive oil. A great salad! I will be back next time I'm in Tofino! Grazie!!

Small, family-owned business that makes really delicious fresh, wood-fired pizza - authentic from Napoli. Highly recommend

The best pizza I've had in a long time! The dough is perfect - fluffy yet crunchy I've chosen the marinara one and loved it!

The restaurant is in an historic building downtown and seems to be a part of a city revitalization effort. Inside, the restaurant is well appointed and there are many tables with views. We chose the bar area for a more social vibe. The bar seating is a bit awkward for socialization with the bartenders or other patrons. The staff we met were super friendly even though they were quite busy. We both had drinks. My wife had a Cranberry Fizz which was executed well and made her happy which makes me happy. The rosemary bread is excellent and makes for good snacking with the libations. I had the steak frites for an entre and my wife had a Caesar salad. Both plates were elevated in technique and presentation. My steak was the proper temp, but could had used more seasoning. Everywhere we go on the Island, the only steak choice seems to be flat iron. Why? Where is the rest of the cow going? Anyway, we like this restaurant very much and reccomend you try it if you want something better than a burger and a beer while in Port Alberni.
