We stopped here after a morning of surfing and dropping back our gear. Our mocha was pretty standard but nothing to write home about. It wasn't too chocolatey, but the whipped cream was nice. We were disappointed by the almond croissant. It wasn't particularly buttery, fluffy, flaky, or warm. I'm not sure if warming up is an option, but I definitely would have liked to have had it warmed and maybe it's a thing they could be offering every time. We found it to be pretty flat and lacking taste. Yes, it did have almond paste inside but I would not get this again. It looks like a few people around us got quiches, so maybe that would be some thing to try if you're looking for a breakfast bite. We overheard someone say that the oat muffin was one of the best oat muffins they've ever had in their life, so maybe check that out instead. The space is really nice inside and they obviously have great marketing because I see the Tofitian sticker everywhere. read more

Stopped by early afternoon for a Latte and a Lemonade. Lineup was a bit long but service was quick, so don't let the long line deter you! The lemonade was more on the sour end but it was nice and refreshing. The latte was standard. I liked how they decorated their store with merch items like cups and tshirts. Would recommend if you are waiting in line at the Tacofino next door and need a refresher! read more

I think I enjoyed the food here better than the coffee. We found some of the drinks were a little watered down or a little acidic for my taste, but the breakfast sandwiches were delicious. We tried a biscuit, flat bread, and croissant, each with different combinations of meats, cheese, veggies, and eggs. Low rating due to attitude of servers and long wait times. Staff prioritizes talking with each other and having fun over customers service. Every time we've been there is a 20 to 30 min wait just to get coffee. And often they are out of muffins and other pastries. Meanwhile have noticed orders can't be heard and customers have to get their orders corrected because the baristas are carrying on loudly. No apologies given. Way too long of a wait for the quality. There are lots of options in Tofino. Go elsewhere. read more

Stopped here on our way home early on a Monday. The staff was super friendly! Even gave us a free replacement latte when my husband spilt his when picking it up. We split the croissant breakfast sandwich and immediately regretted not getting one each--one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. Mainly baked items for breakfast, but half were savory and even a few gluten free options, so that was nice to see on a bakery menu for a change. Coffee was excellent too! Waited thirty minutes, which unto itself is not a problem, it is high season and there is COVID. But after all that wait my Americano was like lightly coffee flavoured hot water. Definitely not up to par... not even sure if it was made with freshly brewed espresso. I wouldn't go back. read more

I am appalled by the behaviour of the staff members. The women who work here are constantly horrible, rude, and sassy. Every single time I come into the cafe it is always the same horrible service. Disrespectful. They never greet me or ask me how I am doing. The only interaction I get from them is an eye roll. Thank you so much ladies. Extremely disappointed by the lack of respect you show here. Oh, and it's not just us, we can see you treating everyone like that. Your drinks are also watered down. There is no foam on the drink. I have no idea how this bakery isn't getting a five star review from everyone! We have one of the best bakeries in the US right in our backyard in Seattle (Bakery Nouveau) - so we are very critical and picky when it comes to baked goods. Tofitian checks all the boxes. Their cinnamon rolls are the best I have had, anywhere, anytime. Espresso is excellent. Croisssants - top notch. We also had some sort of nutella topped scone. OH MY GOD. Incredible! I cannot say enough good things about this place. Who CARES about the prices when the food is this good? This place just blows away any other bakery around here. Can't wait to come back. read more

I'm a tough coffee customer as I am pretty picky. Tofitian's coffee is flavorful. My husband brought me a 16 oz. latte our first day in Tofino. I could tell the coffee was a good quality but with just two shots it was a bit weak- it would have made a perfect 12 oz cup with two shots. The next day, I had a 16 oz. triple shot and it was perfection. The barista made a delicious cup of joe. read more

I think the Tofitian has created the perfect simple breakfast item: Breakfast Pizza. It's a great texture bun with pizza sauce, meat, an egg, and cheese all baked up and awesome. My only issue was I didn't take a second one to go coz the line was too long coz other people also know. Super good read more

Tofi-TEE-an Tofi-shian I bring newbies to this place and they always say the former. If anything just to annoy me (pattern begins). Regardless, not quite sure why i 4-starred the Tofi-SH-ian cause it really is the best coffee in town. Not only that but the barristas are efficient and skilled. We went in with a super annoying coffee order (pattern continues) that I even I was irritated (pattern) at having to convey. She got all 5 lengthy orders correct and only had to ask about the last one's size which she forgot. Total pro. And wicked wicked coffee. Came for a cappuccino but got bad barista attitude. One word, snippy answers to my two questions (what's the difference between the two sizes? What's the wifi password?) Hmmm. Not sure what I did to deserve that. Maybe because we weren't locals? She was cool to the surfer ahead of us in line. Who knows! The cappuccino was fine - not exceptional, nor terrible. The wifi was pretty good. The 'tude, however, was tough first thing in the morning, and lingered long after the coffee was gone. I'm pretty sure there are other places with decent cappuccino in Tofino worth checking out. They might not hate you there either. read more

After going in almost EVERY coffee shop in Tofino, Tofitian left the best mark. Tofitian is a small cafe located in a cluster of shops including a corner grocer, a surf shop, chocolate shop, Wildside Grill (see my review for it) and much much more. The latte was delicious and the tofinano (an Americano Tofino style) was a great way to start a surfing-filled day. The cafe itself is very small, but gives a cozy laid back atmosphere. It seemed like the place where friends would meet, grab a coffee and a treat and head to the ocean. Internet is available as well as T-shirts and other gear! Will make this my Tofino coffee hot spot! read more

This is a popular spot with the surfers, although I am unsure why. I've tried it twice, since it was close, but not again. Tofitian offers amazingly little in the way of food options, and the only draw seems to be skull-clad t-shirts. The coffee was OK, but the service was atrocious. On two different occasions, I Walked in and was nicely greeted by the girl working. Both times I ordered an Americano, and both times it was by far they were the worst coffee(s) I've ever had. I have had some pretty awful coffee but this was the worst. Literally undrinkable. Three sips and it was trashed, both times. After the first one, I thought it might be just a one off bad coffee, but not the case. Very chemically tasting. Cool logo and ambiance but as far as coffee goes...it's not good. Will maybe try something else there because a part of me just wants it to be good. read more
