Chocolate soft serve with cookie dough and chocolate syrup
Blake B.

Small ice cream shop on the end of a street. Ice cream was good, but lacked variety. It's only soft serve and there are set menu options and not much room for customization. My husband and I both got cookie dough, his with vanilla ice cream and mine chocolate, both with chocolate syrup on top. Nothing too exciting. Just your basic ice cream shop.

Key lime pie

Kids found this when looking for ice cream on a recent trip to Tofino. Sure a small is about $8 but this isn't a soft serve from some fast food joint. Quality ice cream and the toppings are great. Tried the key lime pie as well as the chocolate Diablo cookie and both were great. Although I was hoping for a bit more heat in the Diablo cookie! Definitely in the list for my next trip to Tofino

Jupiter Skor Cookie Dough w Caramel sauce
Sierra D.

It took us a few minutes to find this place as it's tucked in the corner at the very end of the street. I ordered the Jupiter Skor Cookie dough and my boyfriend got the Jupiter Peanut Butter Cookie dough. What I liked about this place is that you get to pick what kind of ice cream you want, toppings, and sauces (which are made in-store). The portions are generous as the "small" was almost a medium. The only thing that would've made the ice cream better is if the toppings and sauce were layered in between the soft serve so that when you get to the bottom it's not just soft serve! Like others have said, the Debit/Credit machine is spotty. (The shop owner even warned us) so I would bring cash next time.

PICNIC CHARCUTERIE'S smoked sea salt honey & dry cured bacon. Honey drizzle. Chocolate ice cream is dark, chalky & satisfying.

Best soft-serve ever. Choose your flavor, choose your topping, choose your sauce and you're good to go.

We got a beautiful spot on the patio and I loved how they had heaters to keep us warm. We started with some appetizers and they were absolutely amazing. I especially loved the octopus. The entire place felt elevated but cozy - our table was upstairs under beautiful wooden beams and big windows overlooking the town. The vibe was lively but not too loud on a Tuesday evening. Service started out wonderfully and we regularly received fresh table settings between courses, however we had a switch in waitstaff later in the meal and it was incredibly slow at the end. No big deal since we weren't in a rush but something to note that it could be hit or miss. The food, on the other hand, was 100% on point. We ordered the potato crusted oyster appetizer and I was blown away - innovative and delicious. For my main, I got the halibut in a curry sauce that was just perfection. My friends tried the sea board, seaweed salad, and scallop gratin, and loved all of it. This meal was a highlight of our vacation.

In general the food was great and the staff was friendly (one barista that I dealt with was not very enthusiastic but they seemed like they were just really tired). The setting is beautiful! There's ample patio seating, and whether you sit inside or outside you get a beautiful view of the water. Curried cauliflower handpie: A fantastic savoury handpie with a flaky crust and a flavourful vegetarian filling. Some handpies are kind of flat with not a lot of filling but that was not the case here. It came with a mango chutney for dipping. Chocolate quinoa cake (GF): When I was choosing a dessert when I went here for lunch, I felt like I should get pie, but this cake looked so good and I did not regret trying it. Really fudgy and rich. Fantastic cake that definitely did not suffer from being made gluten free. If anything, the texture was better than a regular cake. Lemon buttermilk pie: This was the only thing I tried that I didn't like. I wanted to try this one because it seemed unique, as I don't think I've tried a custardy lemon pie before, but it was too sweet for me. The texture was lovely and the little pops of brightness from the berries were nice, but it was kind of hard to get through. Vegan breakfast cookie: Good but basic breakfast cookie with oats, seeds, and cranberries, held together by what tasted like peanut or maybe almond butter. I liked the texture - I'm not sure exactly what it was about it, but it tasted fresher than a lot of breakfast cookies I've tried. Chai latte: Good - I saw them making it, and they use a packaged but good chai concentrate, from Say When. It makes a strong, spicy chai latte that's not too sweet. Tea: They have Mighty Leaf tea which I think is pretty good. I got the green dragon tea here.

While the price tag looks expensive, it the burger came with three nuggets of fish, which was more than fit on the bun - I took one off and ate the burger with just 2 pieces, and fish was still spilling out. Besides the fish, there was also a heaping of slaw and arugula on the burger. It was delicious - the fish was tender and flaky and the slaw was really good. The bun didn't fall apart even with a ton of stuff on it. The fries were standard shoestring fries and they were kind of greasy. I got a side of habanero hot sauce to dip them in and that was pretty good. It had a decent kick but not extreme heat. Dips are kind of pricy at $1.5-2 for a small cup, but ketchup is free at the tables. How it works is you order and pay at the entrance, take a buzzer and seat yourself, and get your food at the counter when the buzzer goes off. The older lady taking orders was very cheerful.

Service was friendly and quite fast The fish was very fresh, delicious and flaky with a great fried crust. Only downside is the fish portion could be a bit bigger since its only 1 piece. The highlight of the meal were the fried prawns though, good portion size, perfectly cooked and so fresh. Next time I'm in tofino this is what I'm getting.
