Basement is located in the bottom floor of the Ritz Carlton Edition. When you valet your car which is $35, you enter the lobby and make a left. I have to say the lobby is gorgeous. The decor is palm trees with white decor and the aroma is superb. So we made our way downstairs, which then we were greeted by a bouncer who checked out ID. IDK if it's free all night but we did arrive at around 11:00pm. When you enter right in front of you is like sliding glass doors with curtains, which you can't enter. So you have to either go right or left. At this time it looked like the left was popping more so we walked that way. The left side is a bowling alley, a bar, and the ice skating rink. We got our first set of drinks which ended up being $65 for 3 drinks. We did ice skating which we got for free but it's normally $25 per person. The skates were damp and had a horrible odor to them. The ice rink is small the size of a living room and the ice was chopped up pretty hard which made it difficult to skate. After a while, we went to the right hand side which was a pool table, a tiny bar, and a room to the actual club. We sat outside of the club room talking for about an hour until the club got full. It was cool and all but the music wasn't up to par. He DJ played an arrange of music but didn't know how to mix it well or to let the track play for a bit before the next track. read more

Once upon a time bowling alleys and ice rinks were places where pubescent teens would have their parents drop them off for a couple of hours of good, clean, fun. My how times have changed. Basement is a whimsical playground for adults - with copious amounts of booze. Playing arcade, skating the rink, or hitting the lanes while lit will definitely exceed your fondest childhood memories. While we didn't partake in any of these activities we definitely hit the club in the Basement. It is a small venue and gets very packed by midnight. As with every fresh new venue on the beach the talent level here is HIGH. Also, I am not sure if it is the official "entertainment" but there was a dude dressed as Pikachu pouring shots into everyone's mouths and a blow-up male sex doll making his way through the room. Definitely an "only in Miami" moment. We had an amazing time and after significant damage to my wallet we ubered our way outta there. Luckily we somehow avoided a cover charge so I felt a teeny bit better. Overall this is a great place to have a good time. The door policy is not obnoxious like some other places (Yes I'm looking at you LIV) so it's a great stress free place to go rock it out even last minute. read more

Located in the Edition hotel, Basement has a well stocked bar, a small 4 lane bowling alley, ice skating rink, video games and a club. We came here on a Thursday night at around 11:30 and I was lucky enough to score parking just a few spaces away from the entrance to the hotel; Otherwise, as patrons of nearby bars and restaurants like Broken Shaker can attest, finding parking in this area can be difficult. Upon entering the hotel, one simply turns left and walks past the elevators where you'll find a staircase that leads down to "Basement" (though there is no signage for the correct staircase - you just have to follow the crowd noise). To the left is the club/arcade games, to the right is the bar/bowling alley/skating rink. On the weeknight we came the rink and alleys were open, but the club/arcade was closed. We ordered a beer from the bar, and asked about rates to use the ice rink as that's really why we came here (lucky, too, as all 4 bowling lanes were occupied and looked busy). It was $25 per 1/2 hour to use the ice rink, including skate rental. With 2 of us skating, each of us getting a beer and the included 20% gratuity, the bill came to $68. We went to the counter to get our skates and sign the waiver, then put our shoes in the provided lockers. The first set of skates I was given had a blade that was bent fairly badly on one of them, so I had to get a replacement. I'm sure the attendant probably put the bent one back on the shelf. There were 2 other couples on the ice as we entered the rink, but there was plenty of space for all of us. The ice sheet isn't huge, but it's big enough for several people and there are grab rails on all sides for newbies to hold onto. There's also a round pillar toward one side with a cushioned seat all the way around it, so people can sit if they wish. The ice really wasn't groomed well, especially around the back side of the pillar where the ice surface was particularly rough. My partner is a beginner, but after a few minutes he was skating like a pro, and since we were the only 2 on the ice when our 1/2 hour was up, the staff peered in to ask if everything was OK, then let us continue skating. It should be noted that, even though the room is filled with a sheet of ice it's not really cold inside and we were both comfortable (in fact, my partner was sweating after skating around for a while). The arcade and club were dark and the doors were locked on the Thursday night we were here, but we plan to return to try this place again when everything at Basement is operational. read more

Two rooms when you walk in to the right and to the left. Use the phhhoto box for a cool new app technology it'll send it to your phone to post on your social media accounts. Call ahead of time to book a bowling alley. Usually, around $50 per person includes food, drinks, and your shoe rental. Minimum of 8 people per lane. So if you a party bigger make sure to reserve more lanes. Ice skating at this moment isn't open yet. Insurance and such still in the works. Smoking area outside. Great spot, check it out! Absolutely one of my favorite places. Miami has a surplus of options for nightlife, but only Basement can say they have an ice skating rink and bowling next to the club. To find Basement, you have to go through the EDITION hotel. The lobby is gorgeous. Basement itself is BEAUTIFUL; I'm a sucker for pretty lights. The ice skating rink is a little small, but it can definitely accommodate the people there. If you forget socks, they offer the really thin ones they have when you try on shoes at a store. Not exactly ideal, but I appreciate that they have them for those who weren't prepared (AKA me). On the night I went, it was busy but not overwhelmingly packed. I really enjoyed the music, a combo of today's hits with 90s/early 2000s hip hop & RnB. TIP: for ladies, go on Wednesday night! You typically have to pay for bowling, and ice skating is typically $30 for a half hour. Wednesday is ladies night, so bowling and ice skating are free for the night. I would definitely recommend getting there a little earlier, since we were told that free bowling ends at 11:00. read more

In theory, this place should be an amazing club. It's located in a swanky hotel, has a cool name, is relatively low-key, has an ICE RINK?!, and a BOWLING ALLEY??? However, when I arrived - it was pretty empty and it was clear that anyone stopping by was just stopping by for the Instagram photo opp. Admittedly, I also snapped a few photos to post about this "cool club with the ice rink and bowling alley" but I didn't partake in either very expensive activity, dance, or even get a drink. Went bowling on a Tuesday and loved it! I can't comment on price as it was complimentary event, but I can comment on the ambiance and food. Ambiance: I was definitely a fan. They brought back all the 90s baby making R&B musiq which I feel I need more of in my life. I'm talking Brandy, Destinys child, ashanti, Craig David throwbacks. We went straight to the ice skating since they closed at 12 and we wanted to try it and get the whole skating experience. Oh boyyyy was i in for a treat hahaha . The basement has a very chill vibe and there seem to be a good mix of locals and tourists. The bouncers and bartenders were all friendly and definitely more relaxed than other Miami spots. There is a bowling alley on one side with a bar and the lounge on the other side. What I really enjoyed here was the great music that they played all night. There was a good mix of old school hip hop and current music, the dj was great at transitions going from Lauren Hill to Justin Bieber all in a seamless manner. The only thing they did not play was Spanish music which was surprising this being Miami. Basement is like an upscale version of Rec Room, which is my perennial favorite for great music, laid-back club scene and an usually cool and eclectic mix of people. The addition of the bowling alley is fun, though the idea of trying to arrange a lane on a weekend evening gives me a bit of anxiety. The Edition reflects the concerted effort that has been underway in Miami (particularly Miami Beach) over the past couple of years to maximize the hotel experience both for visitors and locals. It reminds me of what happened in NYC back in the day with Dream, Standard, Gansevoort, etc. It's a model in which everyone wins and which is able to attract a much cooler, more sophisticated and less cheesy crowd. Very cool space with some fantastic lighting and interesting incorporation of the bowling and ice skating as centerpieces of the venue. The mix of fun dance music, and the crashing of pins and cheers made this a constantly energetic space and a fun place to hang out with friends. Drinks were fine, and staff was surprisingly friendly and attentive. Our bartender even proactively offered to add some extra liquor to my cocktail after serving it since the drink was a little sweet with it standard mix. Much appreciated! The Basement is the most racist establishment I have ever encountered. On March 2,2019 a group of 30+ African American patrons (couples) attempted to visit this facility for a 50 th birthday celebration. We are all mature professional people. Our group was rejected because supposedly our reservation required a $3000 minimum. Even though groups around us were being allowed to enter for $20 per couple (mostly young white people). This is clearly the most blatant example of racism and ageism I have ever experienced. The hotel staff upstairs was of little help and only said " you need to speak to a manager". If I could have given less than zero stars I would have. Extremely sad and disappointing and a poor example of hospitality for a city that counts on tourism. read more

Fun place to change up the regular bar/club scene in Miami Beach. They have three bowling lanes, an ice skating rink, and several bar areas. I have gone for two birthday get togethers and have left extremely happy both times. There's just so much to do as you enjoy your drinks. We skated but it was difficult because the ice wasn't smooth. I wish it was a roller skating rink instead. Basement is filling a void in the South Beach nightlife scene. Located a bit off the beaten path at the newly renovated Edition Hotel (formerly the Seville), Basement is packing 'em in with its unique mix of bowling alley, lounge, and club. Friday and Saturday nights seem to be the must-do's at Basement, with DJs booked weeks in advance. Jelly is Basement's new Wednesday night old school hip-hop night, which is also supposed to be tons of fun. Once you enter, you have the option of turning left, where you'll find lots of cool lounge-y couches for sipping drinks and chillaxin' with friends. Also to your left is the separate club-type room, with an outer perimeter of benches and a smoke machine at the ready. On the right side of the entrance is the much-talked-about bowling alley and ice skating rink. This area gets packed. There are only 4 lanes, so if bowling is your thing, be sure to book in advance. The skating rink is enclosed with a entrance down the hall. Trade your shoes for blades, and you'll be gliding along in no time. No booze on the ice, though. Drinks are about average for South Beach (though does 29th Street still count as truly "South Beach"?) - expect to drop about $14 per drink. I think they may charge a cover at a certain point of the night, but if you get there before midnight, you're likely golden. Basement is definitely worth checking out for an alternative night out on the Beach. read more

Ascend the staircase, take a left at the concierge, and go all the way to the end of the hallway. Descend 2.5 flights of stairs, and join the line. (There will most likely be one.) Located on the ground floor (it's not actually in a basement), and tucked away in a dark corner of of Edition Miami, is Basement--one of SoBe's best kept secrets. And now that they've changed the location of the exit (forcing patrons to leave the way they came), it's likely to remain that way. Once you get past security, you'll enter a common area whereby you'll be forced to make an uncommon decision: will you take the red pill and head to the lounge, or will you make a left, and head to the ballroom instead? Do yourself a favour and visit the lounge first; SoBe has no shortage of dancefloors, but what you won't find anywhere else on the Beach, is a lounge with a full-service bar serving non-stop 90s hip-hop on the ones and twos, replete with a bowling alley and ice-skating rink from which to choose. Never lose. The staff at Basement are incredibly professional. The bouncers are very respectful, the bartenders are vigilant, and the dancers are fun and flirtatious, but courteous as well. They know just how far to take it, and they're good at reading the crowd, so they generally won't try to get you to do anything that you aren't into. The music. Never disappoints. (Even when it does.) On the lounge side, there's 90's hip-hop, and in the ballroom, there's everything else. The lighting is above average, and the interior design is intelligent; kudos to the designers for making such elegant use of the floor plan. Although this new hotel has opened to a lot of hype, this hotel is just okay. With the prices they charge for a room here and being that it is new I expected it to be really nice and beautifully designed and that basement would be too. Hotel lobby looks old and dreary and remind me of the fake lobby in Tower of Terror at Disney World. It is creepy and way too dark and they went overboard w/ minimalistic decor. We visited on a Friday night and thought that the bowling and ice skating would be in an area where you can just walk in but there is only one entrance for bowling, skating, and the club and it is just like any nightclub with a bouncer and ropes everywhere and you have to wait to be let in. A little over the top if you are looking for a chill place to hang out and bowl. First thing we noticed was how hot it was in the entire Basement area. Everyone was complaining and half of our group left early because of this. Bowling is expensive and there are only 4 lanes. $50 for 4 guests and $10 per person over that and this only includes one hour. We had 7 people bowling and couldn't finish one game in an hour. Drinks start at $15++ throughout. The decor is better in the bowling area and what saved the entire experience for us was the great music they were playing in the bowling area. It was classic hip hop from a few years back mixed in with new music as well. After our unfinished bowling game we moved on to the nightclub area. The decor and ambiance in the club are terrible. It reminded me of a garage at a mechanic shop. It wasn't grungy in a cool way, it was just plain grungy. Worst part of the club was the terrible music. I love all types of music from house to hip hop but this was really deep trance all night long. Every song had the same beat. You know it is bad when no one in the club is dancing and everyone is just standing around. We bought bottles and a table thinking it was open format and the music would improve but it was terrible all night long. Little pricey on the drinks... but again you are at the beach so it's expected ! This new venue is located on the basement of a hotel that has been recently renovated and it looks amazing...the lobby is nicely decorated with white candles and light fixtures ..the hotel itself is very elegant ..wouldn't mind staying here.. Onto basement...as u walk in there's a bar to the right next to the bowling alley ...few steps further is the ice skating ring which was quite tempting but I wasn't dressed for the ocassion..hence the high heels and miniskirt. Gotta wear pants next time...in case I fall and well...u can imagine.. Drinks are steep..just like anywhere else in the beach but the atmosphere is cool and why not...is worth it. Located in the newly renovated Seville Hotel is their swank little night club, the Basement. The hotel itself has been miraculously turned into a very posh spot. To say it's been renovated is an understatement. They turned a rundown old building into a sleek and sexy must-see Miami Beach resort. The Basement offers a small ice rink, not big, not average, small. So don't expect to be playing any hockey there. If you're lucky, you'll have enough room to practice your triple axle. But still, it is a frigg'n ice rink inside a night club! Beside that there's is a 2 or 3 lane bowling alley. Quite a unique vision for whomever designed the club. Down the hall you'll find a larger proper dance floor. When I went the music was primarily old school disco. Not my cup of tea, but we were having fun. Some in our crew weren't digging it, so we had to leave somewhat prematurely only to find out that Ellie Goulding strolled in later that night into the Basement to celebrate her birthday. Now, I'm not a huge fan of Ellie, still it would have been nice to see her and perhaps strap on the skates together and do some pairs ice dancing. Quality Basement is a very unique club experience on Miami Beach. It is a massive space with a bowling alley, ice skating rink, bar, and club area. They have lots of unique cocktails, plenty of beers, as well as bottle service, if it is that kind of night. I did not order any drinks on this evening, but I can attest from past experiences that the drinks are on point. Quantity The beers come in bottles so you know what you are getting. The cocktails are all fair, but these are bartenders who are measuring out each one. Value Even though Basement can feel like a more casual club, the prices will remind you that it absolutely is on Miami Beach. Pricey drinks no matter what you get, but not quite as bad as some of the bigger name spots. However, on a Friday night there was no cover, which is nothing to balk at. Ambiance Basement is my favorite club on Miami Beach, because it just does not feel like your standard club. Located inside the stylish Edition Hotel, Basement is found past the lobby and down a flight of stairs. The club itself is gigantic with several separated areas. Once you enter you are in a lobby like area that works as a quieter and relaxing escape from other areas of the club. It has a few couches and it is a place you can catch your breath and talk to others without needing to yell. On one end they have the bar area, which has attached a bowling alley and an ice skating rink. The other end has a jungle themed room that is the actual dance club. The bar area has a centralized bar that makes getting a drink much easier than a typical club. On the reverse side of the bar they have a few bowling lanes that are brightly colored. Instead of rickety chairs, comfortable VIP-like seating is available for large parties. Towards the back of this area you can see through a large window the ice skating rink. Even though it is not a huge rink it is big enough for about a dozen people to enjoy a skate. Bright neon colors and music plays into this area. The bar section has a DJ, but it is definitely a more relaxed vibe than the other room. During our visit we spent more time in the dance club area. A more packed and confined space, it is set up for loud beats and sweaty dancing. The DJ in this room was mixing up 90s R&B and house music. There is a bar towards the front of the space, but it is not as simple grabbing a drink in this room. Crowd It was a fun crowd on Friday night and the dance club room was bustling. The bar area was less busy, but the bowling alley lanes were all in use. I really enjoy the fact that even though it is a club it does not come with that same pretentiousness that I have come to expect across Miami Beach. It is about grabbing a drink, dancing, and enjoying the company of friends. Service It is a much more relaxed club and one that does not come with a line on most nights. The bouncers were very friendly as was the security inside the club. Parking The hotel offers valet parking, but since we were out for the night we used a car service. They have an easy pick-up zone and we were in a car within minutes of leaving the club. Extra I am not a club person, so usually getting me to go out to one is a tough sale. However, Basement is an exception because of the more relaxed vibes and fun guests. The simple fact that they have an area away from the action to relax for a minute makes such a huge difference. I also enjoy the bar area, which is a nice middle ground. The prices are still high for drinks, but even so, I believe Basement is miles above its contemporaries. read more

This is a club like no other... a little nuts in some ways, but all the best ways! There is bowling, ice skating and the actual club section. Love the dancers and the "spanking guy". This is a must experience type of place, especially if you are sick of the average mundane club scene. I look forward to spending many weekends here! Strange vibe in this venue with the multiple rooms. The staff here is very nice and friendly. Expect to pay a lot for drinks, it's in a fancy hotel. The ice skating rink was very amusing, especially with drunk people. The bowling seemed cool, but not sure I'd do that. The main club room has decent sound and a massive bar. This is a very cool space in a nice mid-beach location. They don't seem to get great DJs, but they have some decent locals every so often. Cool design and venue. read more
