Great food and friendly staff. Burgers are very juicy and cooked to your desired doneness, and the create your own option has a wide variety of meat, buns, cheeses, toppings and sauces starting at $7.75. By the time my burger was designed it was $9 which is a good deal for a high quality burger in a restaurant nowadays. I didn't buy a side for the burger, instead we chose an appetizer of bread sticks to split which comes in 3 or 5, we got 3 which comes out hot and with a cup each of warm cheese and cinnamon butter which was very good as well. The only downside to this place is it's very small so expect to wait and service can be a bit slow because they can't have a bunch of staff in there. This visit was at 2pm on a Sat and we waited maybe just 5 min for a table but imagine the wait on a Fri or Sat night in Canton. I'd say try it for lunch or an off time for a first visit, it's worth it, the food and staff are 5 star. read more

Yep! 5 Stars! One of the tastiest burgers out there in my opinion. A coworker took me here on a recent visit to the Detroit area. I built my own burger with Kobe beef, cheddar cheese, and thousand island. Holy Moly was this thing cooked to perfection. Juicy and full of flavor. I think they might season it some with onion salt or onion flakes...or maybe crack? Not sure, but whatever they do it really appealed to my taste buds. So on my more recent trip, I stopped in again. I got the same thing and it was every bit as good as I remember it being. I was not really hungry enough to eat the whole thing, but I could not stop myself from making myself uncomfortable to eat every bite. Just down the street from Ikea on the right, skip the Swedish meatballs and go straight here for a burger. The build your own menu is super handy and the service is quick and really nice. I had the bison burger and tator tots with chili and cheese. Hands down one of the best burger places I've been to. Parking is a hassle but believe me it's worth hunting for a spot. I came in on a Friday night and the place was really busy in a good way! The bartenders are super friendly. You can either build your own burger or choose from their menu. The you can do the same thing with a salad. I recommend getting he Mr. Blueberry. It's a great drink! I have always been a huge fan of this location. I was very sad to see them forced to close temporarily during covid 19. Recently they reopened for carry out and I waited out the rush and ordered last night. I was really sad to see they had not mastered the carry out process before diving into it. It was clear that the food was made when ordered not when scheduled for pick up. The starter was cold but edible. One burger was missing 3 ingredients that were paid for and the other burger was so undercooked only 25% of it, the edges, were edible. I've heard many good things about this place so I decided to have lunch there. The space is somewhat small with lots of TVs. The wait wasn't too bad however it began to become very crowded around 1:30 pm. Once I was shown to my seat the waitress came by shortly and explained how to order any burger or salad: you're given an erasable marker pen and a laminated menu to mark off how you want your burger or salad made. You have choices in the type of beef/meat for your burger (and/or salad), wellness of the beef, type of cheese, bun, toppings, spread (there are different ketchups, mayo, etc) and any type of fries (I went with the sweet potato fries and cinnamon dipping sauce). The kobe beef in my burger was excellent - without a doubt the best burger I've ever had. I loved the sharp cheddar cheese that I decided on along with my five toppings. Slow non responsive service at a time when there where more servers than customers (10-7), messed up the order without fixing it, & wasn't worth the wait or the price (about $8 for a 1/4 pound burger that doesn't include drink toppings or sides.) Overrated! By far the worst, overpriced burger that took almost an hour to serve. It began with the entrance waiter, forcibly wanting us to be seated at the bar, because one of the managers or the owner yelled at them for seating two people in the booths. The waitress or our server was awful. I had to glance and stare at her to follow up on our order. By the time our food had arrived, the burger was overcooked which as supposedly bison beef (more like a rubber resemblance). The bun had a wonderbread sponge/crumble effect. The fries you'd assume were straight out of a packet, dunked into the fryer, then positioned for additional 15 minutes under a food warmer as the waitress was too busy watching tv and chatting at the bar with her arms clasped. Was on a work trip when I decided to give this local Ann Arbor-area burger bar out. Didn't regret the choice to stop in at all. It was packed! They were on a wait list, but thankfully I grabbed the last seat at the bar. Built my own burger with all sorts of toppings...Blue cheese crumbles, jalapeños, banana peppers, coleslaw and (get this) a big juicy pineapple slice!!! I also got some hot Buffalo-esque sauce which provided a kick I was looking for. Washed it down with a few Odd Side Ales they had on tap. Must try if on tap at any bar, and then a side of fries. Only thing separating them from a 5-star review was the fries. I have had better. Fair pricing, solid service, local chain...doesn't get much better for the genre of burger bar. read more

I travel for work quite a bit and this was the first time I have ever felt like I lived in the city and was a regular at a restaurant.. This place is great-- the servers are always very friendly and the food comes out quickly. Restaurant is kind of small inside but I have never had to wait for a table. Very clean. Make sure to look at the menu because they have some fun things on there that you wouldn't see if you only look at the laminated burger order form. read more

I wanted something healthy, that didn't really happen! Brainstorming we came up with this place since we wanted to try it soon anyways. This place was pretty cool especially for a Monday night. They had an MC, played some cool music, and had contests for the guests. It wasn't too loud like how a bar scene might be, but very casual and pretty comfortable. Though I have seen the concept of creating your own burger from start to finish, this seemed to be a logical idea for this place. I enjoyed reviewing all the cool toppings and got excited to see a lot of ingredients you don't always see at too many other places. I got exactly I wanted on my black bean burger and it was really good. The only thing that was not so good was the price, it came out to be over $12 including the sweet potato fries. The fries with the cinnamon butter sauce were phenomenal, but I still thought the price was excessive if I am not getting any meat. We had half off on the appetizers which really helped us out on the bill, and both items were delicious. I thought the flavor in the black bean quesadilla was better than what I expected. The tater tots were nice and crispy, but the other ingredients did not stand out too much here from other places. The cheese was mediocre and some of the other toppings did well with each other, but no one topping created a "wow" factor. I don't go to Basement Bar too often but every time that I do go, I have a decent experience while there. I think their food is good and the ambiance is nice as well. The most recent time that I went to this establishment was just last week and it was less than desirable but our waitress was very nice. When we visited, the actual restaurant was not very busy and we were able to just get a spot fairly quickly. We filled out the create your own burger cards and sent them to the kitchen! While we waited, we both got waters but one of the glasses was dirty. We sent that back to the kitchen and they swiftly brought us another. When our food came out, they had put my turkey burger onto a bun with all of my husbands toppings and vice versa. After our food finally got sent back to the kitchen and then brought back out about 5 minutes later we were able to chow down. I ended up taking the spinach off of my burger because it wasn't very fresh but everything else did taste good. I definitely will return as I used to love coming here, but I do hope things have improved by then. read more

The burger I choose was very traditional lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and relish on the side. Their menu allows you to heavily customize your burger or salad. I choose their sweet potato fries they we were ok not very crispy. Their sweet potato fries come with a special cinnamon sugar sauce which was good, it was a little thicker and a nice cinnamon flavor. The service was good bartender was attentive. We've been a handful of times now, and always have a good experience. I love the BYOB idea. I like to go nuts and add everything. It ends up being a knife-and-fork kind of meal though. Their burgers are pretty stacked, very flavorful, and if you order it medium, it actually comes out medium! It's sad to get excited about receiving your food the way you request it, but so many places screw this up. All the apps and sides we've tried are great too. Service is standout here. I'm pretty sure we've only sat at the bar, but the bartenders have always been engaging, friendly, and actually seem to like their jobs. So refreshing! Draft selection is slim (six to eight taps I think) but generally well-stocked. Happy hour runs everyday 3-6 and gets you $3.50 craft pints and $4-5 apps. Late night HH is 10 to close, which repeats those deals and adds $4 you-call-it for liquor. It's a little out of our way, so it's not somewhere we go super often, but when we're in the area we love to stop in for a pint and tots. read more

The Canton Basement Burger Bar (BBB) just opened and when I read Kris's Yelp review we decided to try the Grand Opening Event. We arrived during Happy Hour and remembering the great Wings appetizers at the Farmington location we proceeded to order some appetizers on Happy Hour special. The Mac & Cheese bites were creamy on the inside and crunchy on the outside, perfect. The Nachos were pretty good with a good portion of chips and cheese with tomatoes, onions, jalapeno slices and black olives. The French Fries were served hot and delicious. We both ordered the three slider appetizer special, on a dinner type roll, and enjoyed them as much as our previous full size burgers. We washed them down with a couple of beers and a diet coke and really enjoyed our meal. One of the best parts of our visit was the Happy Hour Specials which brought our $38 total down to $16 after all discounts were applied. The greeter and the server were the friendliest employees I think we've ever met and even one of the owners went around and checked on your satisfaction. Everything was first rate. They had a little snafu on some of the beer selection, but it is a brand new bar and some things can be expected. The biggest problem I can see is the tiny parking lot and the amount eateries in the tiny strip mall.
