My husband and I love Lobster Mac & Cheese and have visited several restaurants looking for the best. We sat outside. The ambience was beautiful. They had beautiful chandeliers. The service was great from the hostess to our server. I love that every dish has a grand presentation. The real icing on the cake was that my husband agreed that they have the best Lobster mac he has ever tasted. They include huge pieces of crab in the mac. We were celebrating our anniversary. We received a call before to verify our reservation and was informed that there was no complimentary dessert but if we ordered dessert we would get sparklers. This time our server was Monica who even offered me a table clothe as a shawl since I was freezing. There was a 2 for $90 special going on when we went which is a great deal. I got the Buddhalicious as usual. My sisters drink was some kind of spicy lemonade which was also good. I was pleasantly surprised that we both got to choose an appetizer. Popcorn shrimp and Cesar salads were our choices. We both had the surf and turf; braised ribs, jumbo shrimp, truffled potatoes, heirloom carrots, and mushrooms. The ribs were so tender! October 2020 We fell for the 'very expensive' hype! I have had my eye on this place for over a year now. Judging from the videos and photos that I saw, I saw a place that had huge over the top personality and fun eats. Unfortunately, our experience was underwhelming and we still had to go eat other food afterwards. * I'd like to a point out that the tables are entirely to small for the over the top presentation of the food and drinks. There were only 2 of us, but the tables could accommodate only one thing at a time being ordered. Our server failed to let us know that, so we were left awkwardly with too much presentation and not enough space to eat several times throughout our meal. It's also super hard to get Instagram worthy pictures when the table is filled with too many items.* There was a language barrier between our waiter and us. He wasn't abe to describe certain items on the menu nor answer specific questions. We ended up having to get more food within an hour of eating here. Even though we paid pretty much $400 for this meal. Portion size was way off for the prices. Drinks were upwards $25 each, but weren't properly presented. I would not return here. Hurry up and wait. One hour after being seated we still had not received any food. After being reminded that we have to be out by curfew we were still waiting for our food 30 minutes to close. They served our appetizer and entree at the same time due to time constraints. Ordered the buddalicious dry ice cocktail. When they dropped off the drink and put the dry ice in... it fizzles for a second but doesn't do anything. No smoke. The person shrugged her shoulders and walked away. I paid $32 for a cocktail and expect it to be right. Asked the server for more dry ice and he obliged. The display had already been taken away. That's all we had for the first hour and 7 minutes until our food arrived. The dessert comes out (the entire reason we came here was to celebrate a birthday) and there are no sparklers. The food runner gets us one and lights it. Major fail. But our server returned with a fistful of them and gave us a Fourth of July fireworks display. I have dined here on multiple occasions (it is my go to spot to impress friends). This was the worst experience I had. *tourist alert* Made reservations at Barton G for dessert only as I had seen the pricing of the menu beforehand. Yes it is covid, so we allowed some error/mistakes etc. First, I read dress code, so we dressed accordingly. We get there and everyone seated around us is in jeans, cutoffs, one girl in a lacy body suit and full display of a thong. Outdoor seating only but I expected a high class restaurant to at least throw up some fans, bug bombs, something! Our first table was very wobbly, so we had to move tables. NBD. Next table was right next to greenery. We ordered the dolla dolla bill yall ($48) and a diet coke($6)/tap water. Considered a few of their cocktails but couldn't bring myself to pay $32 for a cocktail made with grey goose. I was slick with sweat by the time our dessert came. Our waitress was friendly, no idea what her name was because she never gave it. She had two other tables that were pretty demanding so we were thrown on the back burner. She did take the time with presentation of the dessert, which was cool. The dolla dolla bill yall: rich chocolate torte, fluffy marshmallow creme covered in chocolate and edible gold to look like a gold bar. Brûlée'd table side for a s'mores effect. Accompanied by breyers ice cream and gold caramel corn. Wished it was homemade ice cream (I feel with their experience and how cheap it is to make, breyers was a cop out). We would go back, yes, but not with outdoor seating. I was slick with sweat, I had about 14 bug bites, one of my forehead and when I mentioned it, the girl shrugged and said "they did something earlier but I guess it didn't last long." From what I have read, outdoor seating isn't a covid concept here - so why not invest in some fans or outdoor air conditioning ....give notice that you are relaxing the dress code, and bomb regularly for bugs. We had done dinner in little Havana ($57/4 drinks, one entree, two additional sides) and was treated like royalty. Like someone else said, invest in etiquette classes. I'm sure with the clientele of celebrities, they know how to treat people. The server did not talk much and the wait time to get our food made the experience a "one and done". For a nice anniversary or dinner for 2: I would recommend. I enjoy stopping by Barton G each time I'm in the South Beach area. In addition to the aesthetic appeal , the food tastes just as good as it looks. Although the restaurant is extremely dimly lit, I'm willing to give them a pass for this since I've received excellent service with each visit. I went in the spring of 2017.... My family had given me 2 gift cards totaling $100 or $200 for my 30th Birthday back in 2016. I finally got around to using it... Took my aunt and grandfather to try it... like many, I read what the hype was about and was optimistic As far as the architecture of the restaurant itself for the concept of the food and it's presentation, it's a logistical mess... Those beautiful large presentations of food on the small tables with tight spacing between the next party is not comfortable... The food was average and decent but not worth the price, but again the presentation is what you're supposed to get stuck on. As a FIU Hospitality Graduate and active worker in the Hospitality Industry from Washington, DC, this is where the downfall began: As we were ready to pay for our bill, we handed out gift cards to pay the bill, only to find out that the server tells us that the gift cards don't work. After 20 minutes of an escalating civil debate with some emotions, the manager could not be reached which was inexcusable and I ended up paying the bill until the issue with the gift cards could be resolved. The server made some mistakes in his choice of words "stating that he had nothing to do with the gift cards not working"... Duh, not s*** Sherlock! Those words didn't need to exit his mouth as I was already upset.... He lost out on a large tip on a $200.00 plus bill... Finally 3 weeks later, I get a call from the manager while on vacation back in my native Maryland. He explained what happened to the gift cards and the company Barton G uses for their gift cards. He refunded my money for the amount of the gift cards. His major mistake during this phone call was making no apology, compensation of some value to change my perception of Barton G. We hung up the phone and I never considered visiting this restaurant ever again. In summary, this restaurant is overrated, lacks true compassionate hospitality delivery, and tourist trap in my opinion... Yes, people make mistakes, yet people have the ability in the restaurant business to properly communicate and think before the speak or act. But you have to try it for yourself... read more

If I have to give it stars it'll be none, but yelp doesn't work like that. We arrived and it was a nice scene. They greeted us(8 of us) and got us started with water. No one explained that water was $9.. Really?! The guy just kept filling up our glasses. That was super misleading to not inform us of that. I'm Haitian, I know good fish and this wasn't it. The steak my boyfriend ordered was the right temp. The chicken skewers were HARD. The lobster and the lobster pop tarts were RUBBERY. None of this was fresh and I'm so disappointed because we spent over $1500 and the food was so bad. My daughter ordered the Bubbling Seafood and the bubbles were beer, but it was so much. We weren't expecting it to be extreme. The waiter didn't explain anything about the dish to us. Again the Manager was nonexistent. FUN restaurant with decent quality food and fabulous food presentations!! I recently went here with a group of friends for my 30th birthday- which by the way, I would only recommend this restaurant for special events or occasions- and was pretty pleased. The drinks and food are both brought to the table with HUGE over-the-top props (outstanding presentation), and most meals brought to the table tasted really good (filet mignon, deviled eggs, lobster mac and cheese, crab and lobster cakes, and dessert). On the downside, the food is very expensive for what it is (smaller portion sizes). I also found the staff to be rude. When they called to confirm my reservation, they made sure to tell me 3X that dessert was NOT complimentary but the candles were (that is generally understood, but if not, 1X would be enough). Also, when I called to ask if 1 person could be seated later on because she was running late, I was abruptly cut off on the phone several times, and then was told they would accommodate me but that "they were being nice because they don't seat anyone until the entire group has arrived". I just would expect better customer service with nicer attitudes when you're paying the prices you are here. Overall, fun experience that you must do atleast once!! read more

Overrated and overpriced is the conclusion to this meal. It is gimmicky with the presentations of the food which are over the top. Two filet mignons and salmon dishes were all over cooked and dry. Slider appetizers were overcooked and dry. Caesar salad was good. Service was lousy. Two filets came out and waited 10 min for the salmon. Had to flag down our waiter to go check on it. The whole night the waiter seemed rushed and uninterested. If you want to take pictures for your social media and don't care about the taste of the food, then this is the place for you. The drinks were the only good thing. Again, gimmicky with smoke and dry ice and such to make it pretty. At $35-38 for a drink, yikes. I really don't mind spending $500 for a good meal, but this felt like a rip off and tourist trap. As a side note. We went here 15 years ago. At the time they had a prefix menu available which comes with two appetizers, two entrées and a dessert to share. Per person I believe it was roughly $100. We both ordered the surf and turf entree option along with the sliders and the shrimp and popcorn for appetizers. All of the food was OK. the lychee martini's were great and we both had 2. Our servers were kind but it was definitely busy and we only saw them two or so times before the check arrived. The dessert display was definitely The highlight of the evening it was huge and flashy and the actual dessert itself was pretty rich and decadent and definitely great for sharing. Me and my sister came here for our birthday dinner and it went pretty well I will say however the lighting is not that great outside at night if you are the type of person that likes to see your food. This wouldn't necessarily be my first choice if I was in the area for dinner but if I wanted to stop somewhere for dessert and drinks they would definitely make list. I would not recommend this location for extremely large groups at Max four or five. The amount of space on the tables is super super limited especially with the displays that each dish is served on, all of your table space will be maxed out at each point of the meal. This was an incredible dining experience! We were a group of 11 and learned that groups 10 + have to set a menu in advance, so the chef can accommodate everyone. I have been excited to dine at Barton G for years and was thrilled that everyone in our group wanted to try it, also. The food/drink presentation are outrageous and our food was fantastic, as well. Our main server was Akram and he was helpful, informative and friendly. He and his team truly made our experience a great one! I started off with an original margarita from the Nitro-bar and was glad I did. This was Don Julio Silver Tequila, Black volcano salt, sour mix, triple sec and a Grand Marnier popsicle! Such a nice touch. Other favorites at our table were the Diamonds are forever, Below the Belt and Buddhalicious. Our group's menu consisted of a few apps: bucket of bones (baby back ribs, lamb lollipops, chicken drummettes and chips), Voodoo shrimp rolls (crab and shrimp inside and fried to perfection), and the laughing bird popcorn shrimp (very good and served in a popcorn machine). Then, we split two salads: Caesar and Chopped, both were good. For entrees, we had choices of the Samurai Tuna (seared tuna served with curried rice noodles), 14 oz NY Strip served with mashed potatoes and asparagus or Peking style chicken served with carrot puree, scallion pancake and stone fruit. I chose the Tuna and was glad I did. I ordered it rare and loved it. I loved the sword in the display plate. I would definitely order this dish again. I heard from others at our table that their steaks were cooked perfectly and they would order again, as well. Then, the desserts! YUMMO! We had the Dolla Dolla bills Y'all, which was a delicious chocolate ganache and dulce de leche tart with gold nuggets, Cotton Candy head with bananas foster mug sundae and the Sabrina Sundae. With 11 people and 3 desserts, we had a lot leftover. These desserts are massive! The prices here aren't for the faint of heart. You are enjoying a dining experience, not just a dinner. This was my first time eating at Barton G. Came for my birthday and I had an amazing time. The drinks and dishes are super over the top and are meant to be more than dinner but an experience!! Each one has a specific theme. My salmon came with a samurai sword and my friends popcorn chicken came in a popcorn machine. Definitely a good spot for celebrations, birthdays, anniversary's etc. I expected the food to be expensive but wow it's also one of the over the top features about this place and I have to say the salmon wasn't the best I've ever had. Also we had made a reservation weeks in advance and when we arrived they told us they had no space inside and would have to wait by the bar until something opened up. Glad I got to enjoy the theatrics of this place but probably won't be back anytime soon. read more
