Matt helped me get new irons and I am very happy with the experience and the results. He spent time understanding my current setup and situation and we worked on shaft, club head, and grips to ensure I got the best set for me. I believe it will last me for many years. The studio is at Fabio Canyons range, so it's on grass and not a mat which helped to actually see the ball as opposed to a sim. Really appreciate the time and attention. There's a reason companies have to advertise & this business doesn't have to. Bobby is booked weeks ahead of time because he's simply the best. All of the pros go get fitted by him & I barely started golfing 4 months ago so he caters to all skill levels! He helped me with a full bag fitting and took his time with me. Honestly his prices he charges for the 2 day fitting is more than reasonable & he's not pushy in terms of buying clubs. He matches what the company's charge & based on how good of a guy is. Had a fitting with Bobby Dean this morning. Short version: WOW. I am 74 years old. I've been playing golf for 60 years. My index is 7.8. I come from a family of pro golfers. Bobby is a gem. He is not only a master fitter but he worked under Chuck Cook for 5 years and he also has been trained in the Bio Swing Dynamics method by EA Tischler and Mike Adams. I use this method and he gave me a great lesson during the fitting. I am a believer in outdoor green grass fittings Bobby watched me hit balls for 10 minutes and told me my clubs were too short. I'm 5'7" and have standard lengths. When I got into an extra 3/4 " length club , everything worked correctly. Bobby picked out Callaway Apex Pro, Ping G700, Titleist T300, Callaway Epic flash, and since I have XXIO woods and hybrids (and love them) we tried out XXIO irons. The XXIO Prime irons were head and shoulders the best. I've had three custom fittings before today. All were inside with a simulator. This fitting today is the only way to go for two reasons. You are outside on grass and you can see the ball flight and how the club contacts the ground. The the other reason is the fitter Bobby Dean. He is truly expert. And a super nice guy. Bobby will have my clubs Monday. He will cut the shafts to my length, put on some Winn Dri-Tack lite grips and I'm good to go. He has all the latest and greatest technology (TrackMan) and all major brands of equipment and shafts as well as a tour level fitting truck. He offers full bag fittings and club repair work. He is also the only person in Austin who offers outdoor fittings with TrackMan. He will show you options of oem offerings plus premium upgrades and never has given me any pressure to purchase from him or steer you toward only the most expensive options (Club Champion). I purchased a new Driver and hybrid shaft from Bobby last summer and have had a few clubs re-gripped and re-shafted since then and he is now my go to for any type of golf equipment needs. I recently moved to Texas and was looking for a pro to fit me into a new driver and 3-wood near Austin. I came across the Barton Creek Fitting Studio online, but was a bit skeptical because a) the website was a bit bare bones and b) there were no Yelp reviews. I decided to give it a try because it didn't require payment upfront so I figured there couldn't be much harm. It turns out I had a fantastic experience during my fitting with Bobby at Barton Creek, so much so I decided to create a business and give them their first review on Yelp! I'm a pretty serious golfer (~4 handicap) and somehow have gone my entire life without being properly fitted for equipment. Here were some of my key takeaways: 1) Make sure that you go to a brand-agnostic fitter. Going into this session I was dead set on getting a Titleist driver...turns out I hit the Ping G400 about 20 yards further on average, which was a brand I wasn't even considering until I saw the data and results. Speaking of data, Bobby has a $25k Trackman launch monitor, which is pretty much the industry standard to deliver accurate club head and ball tracking data outdoors, all extremely helpful in determining the best club head and shaft combination. 2) Bobby was personally great during my session. I was the last client of the day and Bobby was giving me swing tips to help straighten out my drives. My swing had been out of sorts and it was a bit frustrating trying to get fit when 1 out of 3 balls would have been out of bounds on the course. In addition to helping out my crappy swing, Bobby even had me hit my current irons and realized that because I had bought them off the rack, I really needed them to be bent upright...something he did for me free of charge on the spot. Not something I would expect him to do for every client, but just shows that he actually cared about providing a great service. Of course I ended up hitting the most expensive shaft the furthest/straightest, so I had a bit of sticker shock when I was quoted prices, but Bobby in no way made me feel pressure to purchase with him and when I looked up competitors online, he was extremely competitively priced. I ended up ordering through Bobby and he was very communicative through phone/text during the whole ordering process (roughly two weeks). I highly recommend Bobby and Barton Creek Fitting if you are considering being fit for golf clubs; I'm truly bought in now and will be going every time I need a new club (even wedges!). read more

If you're reading this, you've done enough research; book a fitting with Bobby. No matter where you're at, he's going to make you suck less at golf. I've never been fitted before but have been thinking about it for a while now. I looked at Golf Galaxy, Club Champion, PGA Tour Superstore and others, but the idea of going to Fazio Canyons range and hit off grass to get fitted sounded like something I couldn't pass up. I finally went and booked full bag fitting with Bobby and he was amazing. It really comes down to the person that fits you, not the fitting company or brand. Bobby made the process so easy and carefree, while still maintaining crazy attention to detail. He knew what was going on in my swing and was super knowledgeable on what equipment and specs were going to maximize my game. Best of all, he was hilarious and just fun to be around. Go get fitted by him if you're in the market. He's got all the brands. You'll get Trackman data. You're hitting off grass. Absolutely no sales pressure and Bobby always makes sure you get the final say on the club because after all, you're playing them. I did a full-bag club fitting with Bobby Dean at the beautiful Fazio Canyons range and the experience absolutely exceeded my expectations. He's very professional and informative during the whole process. The fitting is a lot of fun and calculated work over the 2 2-hour sessions. I hit through numerous combinations of custom clubs from driver thru my wedges to build out my bag. In the end there's no pressure to buy clubs but I purchased the most critical to my game right now. I ended up getting work done to my putter and purchased a custom Driver as I start to rebuild my bag. I fully believe the information I learned and the products purchased in the fitting will help lower my score. After 12 years, I decided it was time for new clubs. I went to golf galaxy and the selection was daunting so I decided to go for a fitting. Bobby Dean is nothing less than a miracle worker. I hit my old Nike 7 iron 120 yards and hit my new ping 7 iron 20% further. I now have woods, irons and hybrids from 3 different manufacturers that are a joy to hit.
