This restaurant is amazing!!! Their food is so good! It's insane! You have to try this place! What he orders: The meatball sandwich. He says there is none better and trust me he gets one from any place we try. The fried chicken sandwich is his new addiction though. He loves the raspberry habañero sauce so much, we now have a bottle of it in the fridge. What I order: The calzone. I'm a weirdo and I don't like a lot of toppings in my calzone. Actually, I like it plain. Just cheese and sauce wrapped in their dough. Baked and then coated in their garlic butter. Oh, and I get a side of that butter. That butter- which in all likelihood is just butter and garlic put in a blender is the s***. I had some leftover and I used it to cook a filet or fish in, and wow. I mean. I need to know the proportion of garlic to butter so I can make this at home. The meatball appetizer. I get one order and save half for another day and you know what? It's fantastic reheated in the oven. I don't get it. The meatballs don't dry out! We are so obsessed with two dishes each we haven't tried anything else. I know! I know! We need to! We love going to Bartolini's when we are in town. Our go to is of course the meatballs. My kids absolutely love the meatballs. My parents transported frozen bags of meatballs to TN, about 6 hours from Bartolini's. They are still fresh and amazing! My family is currently in a meatball coma from devouring the meatballs! You'd be silly to pass up these meatballs. I love Bartolini's because it is more than just a dining experience. The owners are constantly walking around talking to the customers and ensuring that the food is good. I have never had a bad experience here. The food is very good; however, ever since they moved, their prices went way up. They used to offer pasta specials but now you have to build your own and that gets very pricey. Parking stinks and lately you can't get in. It's a shame since we used to like going there. Hostesses can sometimes be rude and forget to seat you after you've been waiting. read more

Came to visit the new location off 147th. The space is more modern and open than when it was located in the plaza off Pulaski. Parking is VERY limited. When we came in we noticed the three tables legit outside the restrooms which I thought was extremely odd. Walking to the restroom you can smell the soap and a strange scent which would make me nauseous and lose my appetite if I was ever sat there. If I were the owners I would suggest utilizing that space for something different than what it is now. Service was subpar, our waitress never introduced herself and was not attentive. Food is just okay, pizza is very greasy and lacks an sufficient amount of sauce. Don't believe I will be making a trip back anytime soon. read more

We ordered this via Goldbelly to be delivered to us in Mountain View, CA. Got the package for 2 deep dish and 2 thin crust pizzas. We ordered a little over a week in advance and was able to get free shipping. Our delivery was shipped overnight from Chicago and arrived on the estimated delivery date. All the pizzas were packed pretty well in a styrofoam box with ice packs. The only minor issue was that one of the thin crusts might have been knocked around by an ice pack because the crust pierced the plastic wrap and cracked a bit. I just wrapped it a bit more with Saran wrap and put into the freezer for a future meal. Otherwise all the pizzas arrived intact. My husband and I were very impressed with the taste and quality of the meatball deep dish! That was the only one we tried so far. I followed the instructions by thawing the pizza in the fridge for two nights, instead of one night, since we weren't ready to eat it the next day. Baked at 400F for 45 mins on a cookie sheet and everything came hot and deliciously gooey. I can't wait to try the other pizzas in the future. This would be a good gift idea for special occasions since people are more hesitant to eat in restaurants due to the pandemic -- bring the restaurant to them! The Gnocchi with fried chicken was creamy and yummy but I didn't expect there to only be tiny bits of fried chicken for close to 18 dollars. Mamas Lasagna was the star of the show along with my fiancé lol we were greeted and seated pretty quick with a smile and positive energy. Ever since they've moved locations, the quality of service and food has gone down. What once was a restaurant we frequently went to 2-3 times a week, our last visit there was HORRIBLE. They made a mistake on our bill ( about $45 mistake) and when we addressed our concerns and complaint to the owner/Mgr he was a complete JERK to us. When I said it would be a long time before we came back. He shrugged his shoulders and walked off, even his old staff from the old location has been leaving to work at other local restaurants. He only has about 3 employees who have stayed with them. It's just a matter of time before he drives them away too. I took my daughter here for dinner last night. She got the Gnocchi with the Arabiatta sauce and I got the three meat pizza...it was really good. The leftovers didn't make it through the night at our house. Pizza has a nice thin crispy crust and the toppings are really good. The restaurant itself is really well laid out and wide open so the tables aren't crowded. Our server did a really good job and answered all of our questions. I'll definitely be back and am also going to order about a half a dozen of their frozen pizzas to drive down to TN. Really solid place and worth the trip. read more

Located in a strip mall near the Illinois Secretary of State license facility in Midlothian, this restaurant sort of fades into the background. But while the front looks small, there is a very nice large and unassuming pizza parlor inside. On our visit we started with the mini-meatball appetizer (5 stars) ... they sort of brag on their meatballs and they have every reason to ... this was very good. For dinner we had the Fettuccine Alfredo chicken (3 star nice ... VG pasta); the spaghetti with red sauce (4 star good); and the BBQ chicken pizza (5 star stuff). For drinks we had a root beer float (3 star the usual), and lots of glasses of house Chianti (4 star very nice and they don't charge you an arm and a leg per glass - just $5.50 ... very reasonable). We finished with Cannoli (5 star sweet stuff). All in all this place was a treat. The menu is pretty extensive with a variety of offerings, but we found the pizza and meatballs (however you get them, as an appetizer or on a pizza or as a sandwich or any other way) were the stars of the show. This is a nice party place. It is loud and proud ... the floor is concrete so it echos everything. There are a number of large tables for bigger parties, and the rest is a mix of high and low tables along with a nice bar area. TVs are everywhere, so you'll be kept up to date on whatever you like. They also have trivia games during the week. All-in-all this place is a winner and we'll be back. read more

On a tip from someone, I came for the meatballs. The menus was extensive and the bar had everything you need. Different nights have different specials on drinks and food. Since it was our first time there we tried the meat lasagna, pizza and angel hair and meatballs. the meal came with a soup or salad and bread or garlic bread. The garlic bread was good. The pizza was good just needed to be cooked a little more for my taste. The red gravy was good and the meatball was tender; however, was lacking in flavor. I was so wanting to love this meatball. He did not care for the lasagna either and we brought it home. I will give it a go for lunch. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. We were so excited to be able to get their pizza's shipped to us in SC. I had never tried their pies, but with all the great reviews, we decided to order a 4 pack through Goldbelly.com. I lived in Chicago for twenty years, so am quite knowledgeable about the various great pizzas available in The Windy City and its suburbs. We really liked this gift pack as it included thin crust, which is our favorite. The pie cooked up nicely and certainly showed promise. Unfortunately, after letting it rest for a couple minutes and then digging in, something was off. There was a slight gummyness to the crust, and a weird almost wax like aftertaste that coated the mouth after eating a piece. The sausage, which we so crave and miss on the Southeast Coast was average. We ended up throwing more than half away. Considering we have been transplants for awhile and lived in many bad pizza towns, we have become quite adept at making our pies at home both Chicago thin and deep dish. My partner agreed with me, when I said our crafted pizzas were far superior to the Bartolini's version. In this shipment we received another thin and two deep dish pizzas. We so dearly hope that this restaurant redeems itself when we try the other variety. Otherwise, it was a colossal waste of over $100. read more
