We stopped for margaritas and were able to sit outside. The waitress was friendly and we got our drinks. We also ordered guac and chips. The guac was too spicy for us, so we couldn't finish that.

Great place for quick bites. I've been to an another bar taco location in the past and this one was no different - big fan of consistency. Plantains are delicious, great variety of tacos including vegetarian options. The service was great and they offer 2 women and 2 men's bathrooms. Outside they have plenty of heaters to keep you warm on the colder days.

Friendly service! Food was overall good and there were numerous menu items to choose from. I loved that they have an outdoor patio area that was covered , perfect for summer!

27Jan2026. As like most places, sometimes the experience reflects the service. Although the crispy fish tacos were good, we didn't order them, we ordered the pork belly tacos. Also, the menu has 2 sides, you shouldn't have to remind to the bartender about that, but the one we had on friday had tunnel vision, and forgot a couple things on the back, like sides and dessert. Can't remember their name, but generally give them a pass and only mention names of those with great service anyway. Probs not fair with the post post climate after "Covid", and the reality that any meal will cost at least 20$ per person. Managers can't afford crappy employees (because of crappy reviews), if there is a choice, lol. Anyway, besides the margarita that was just a double shot of simple syrup and triple sec, the missed dessert, and the wrong tacos, the food quality will def keep me coming back. Everything is nice a fresh and tasty. I generally get my tacos on flour tortillas, but lettuce for some (like the fried oyster and tuna), is great too. thx

The lunch special at Bartaco is actually a gem. For about $13 you choose from a rice bowl or three tacos and one of four sides. I went with the Kale Caesar salad and the cauliflower, Baja fish and chorizo tacos. The cauliflower taco was hands down the best of the three. You should also get one of their lemonades (add a shot) the pomegranate one was so refreshing. The midweek lunch time was perfect, no crowds. Typically when I walk past after leaving the gym, this place is packed! There's always a cool draft, so I typically sit as far from the entrance as possible.

Stopped in last night for a night to eat after some Christmas shopping in Raleigh. Joined the waitlist online and waited for about 10-15 minutes when we arrived. The service was wonderful the entire evening. We order an app and it never came but the server put a rush on it immediately once we told her and it was out within a few minutes. The tacos were all delicious and about 2-3 bites each so we ordered about 4-5 per person. All full of flavor and delicious with the jalapeño sauce at the table. Drinks were fresh and tasty as well. Don't think you could go wrong with any of the tacos or drinks, so we will 100% be back!

Each time I visit I have to get the fish taco. This was my second visit within four days and both times were absolutely immaculate. I've grown to love the aqua Fresca's more specifically the pomegranate limonada. Today Cheila was my server and she was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and welcomed us with great tentativeness.

Taco Snob Approved: Bougie, Fresh, and Worth the Hype Shoutout to the two REI employees who pointed me toward this place when I asked for good food nearby--they clearly know what's up. We hit up Bartaco and it did not disappoint. The vibe? Trendy, laid-back, and that outdoor seating looked like the kind of place you'd spend hours pretending you're not eavesdropping on the next table. Too hot to sit outside this time, but I already made a mental note to come back when I'm not melting like a popsicle. Now for the food--let's taco 'bout it (yeah, I went there). I'm 100% a taco snob. I judge, I compare, and I have high expectations. And let me tell you--I loved these tacos. I had the chicken and mushroom, and both were packed with flavor and just bougie enough to make you feel like you're eating tacos that do Pilates. My only critique? The tortillas were kinda basic. But don't let that stop you--because everything wrapped inside? Absolutely not basic. It was fresh, flavorful, and extra in all the right ways. We started with chips and guac--and by "started," I mean we inhaled it like we hadn't eaten since Tuesday. It was that good. Cilantro, onion, hint of lime--chef's kiss. And don't skip the honeydew agua fresca. They hand-squeezed it to order, and it was so light and refreshing I considered asking them to just fill my veins with it directly. Can't wait to go back. Two thumbs up from this seasoned taco snob. If you're craving tacos with flavor, flair, and a touch of fancy--Bartaco is your place.

We had a great time. The restaurant has a nice decor and outdoor seating area. The staff were welcoming and helpful. I was surprised with the quality of their tacos. Good variety and choices like Duck, oysters, rib eye. Great place to spend time with friends and family. You need to visit this place if in the area.

While recently in the area we stopped in for dinner. It was around 8 pm on a Saturday so it was pretty busy but we were able to get seated after a short wait. Our server was super friendly and explained the menu to us. We got the taco teaser as an appetizer and loved it! It was the perfect combination of flavors and was a good way to sample a lot of their appetizers. The plantains had this nice crispy outter coating and this creamy sauce to dip them in. The equites were good put pretty standard. We got a bunch of different tacos and shared them to try a little bit of everything. My favorite was the shrimp taco. It had a nice kind of spicy sauce on it with some slaw. They were all pretty good. My boyfriend said his favorite was the fish taco. I think this would be the perfect place to go out for drinks and tacos with friends. The drinks were really good too! I got the bartaco margarita and loved it! It was just a classic margarita but since they use fresh juices, I think that elevated it.

Consistency and quality. The fresh squeezed margarita made to order always has been one of our favorites in any city that we've traveled to. This location in North Hills is no exception. They served great food that was cooked perfectly with the vibes and music that you would expect at any bartaco across the country. A great night out and a great margarita to break dry January.

The staff was incredible and the food was great in our first trip trip to BarTaco. Recommended by a teacher in Wake County, we loved our family lunch. They were kind and also helped us with order needs for a child with disabilities. I would go again in a heartbeat!

Most importantly, I think Bartaco is great! The tacos are consistently good and the ingredients are always fresh. The North Hills staff is super friendly. Shout out to bartender Zane for great food tips and conversation. Very easy, crowd-pleasing restaurant for sure. I've tried several different tacos at Bartaco and I think my favorite is probably the crispy fish (not pictured!). Tonight, I am comparing that against the sesame ribeye, crispy shrimp, and ahi tuna. All of these were also good. The sesame ribeye would be my second favorite tonight. If you are looking for a fun, casual, professional, happy hour type ambiance this is a great spot. They are open decently late and really make you feel welcomed from the time you walk in the door!

How are the chicken pastor tacos?

They are soooo good, they have a little heat to them so if you don't like spicy food beware. They are also smaller the the average street taco so I would plan to order at least three. Great place, awesome atmosphere! I love the vibes when I go.

I came here for drinks and dessert with friends, and the star of the show was definitely the beignets. As someone who has visited New Orleans and tried the real deal, I thought I knew what good beignets tasted like. Turns out, I did not have to travel that far after all! The beignets here are like a cross between a classic beignet and a croissant. Light, fluffy, and just the right amount of indulgent. I will definitely be back to check out more of the menu, but no matter what, I am saving room for the... say it with me... beignets!!

Her recommendations for pairing the drinks with the food were flawless, and each drink was prepared like a work of art. I started with the raw oysters, paired with a glass of Rose, which I loved. They switched from the Halibut with Fennel to Mahi with Forbidden Rice. The rice is black and inky and potent and extraordinary, but it overwhelmed the fish completely. Still greatful I got to experience it, but I would pair it with something more gamy like lamb or goat. The Pecan pie with warm salted caramel ice cream was nothing short of a spiritual experience, and Hayley's recommendation to pair it with Rum Flip was perfect. Yes, I Ubered. Overall, this one is going to be a frequent hangout.

This place was absolutely amazing. All I can say is, we made a lot of happy noises while eating,…read moreand there were plenty of "oh my God" moments at the table. From the staff to the manager to the food, everything was on point. The food truly speaks for itself. They serve small plates, which we love because it gives you the chance to try different things and experience a variety of flavors. We started with the fried pork belly on tostones. It was perfectly seasoned, topped with avocado, and every bite just melted in your mouth. Next, we had the tamarind sticky ribs with a tamarind mango barbecue sauce. This was a perfect example of how simplicity can create complex flavors. The ribs were cooked just right -- not completely falling off the bone, but tender enough that when you bit into them, the meat pulled apart so easily. They were juicy, full of flavor, and had just the right touch of spice from the chili flakes. Then we moved on to the mini arepas, and oh my God. They had slow-cooked pork, guava barbecue sauce, and fried papas on top. The arepa itself was crispy on the outside, warm and fluffy on the inside. The savory pork paired with the sweetness of the guava barbecue sauce was incredible, and the crunch from the fried papas took it to another level. Now, I have a bit of a sweet tooth, but my wife does not. I wanted dessert, and we were leaning toward the tres leches, but our waitress highly recommended the bread pudding. I am not usually a fan of bread pudding at all, but her recommendations had been on point all night, so I decided to trust her. I am so glad we did. They take a Mexican bolillo, soak it overnight in tres leches, then pan-sear it to create this crispy caramelized outside while keeping the inside warm, soft, and sweet. It is topped with crema and toasted coconut, then they pour warm guava syrup over it and serve it with a scoop of coconut sorbet. The layers of flavor in that dessert were unreal. Honestly, it may have been the best dessert we have ever had. And remember, my wife is not big on sweets -- she usually only takes one bite of dessert, but this time she tried to eat over half of it. Lol. I highly recommend this place. The food, the service, the drinks, and the atmosphere were all amazing. And after dinner, you can even head upstairs to work off the food with salsa lessons and a dance club. This is definitely a spot worth checking out! Me alegra muchísimo haberlo hecho. Jajaja.

There are black beans under the skirt steak that were AMAZING. It was just a small option of the dish - not the size of a side portion but almost like a "sauce" under the steak. It was perfect.
