First time eating at Barsotti's. Date night with my wife for dinner before a comedy show at Music Hall in Fair Park. Super friendly staff. Even though we had reservations we decided to eat at the bar since we were there a bit early. The female hostess and bartender (I am assuming she was the manager) was so friendly and was checking on us constantly to see if we had ordered drinks and food. I started with a vodka soda. Not very good due to the soda being flat so the next drink I ordered was the old fashioned. It was much better and made proper. I ordered the pasta with clams in spicy red sauce. My wife ordered the spinach lasagna. Both were delicious. I highly recommend Barsotti's if you want good italian and are in the Dallas area. Try eating at the bar where it was more personable. read more

First of all, your menu is lacking information. Not much detail about the entrees. The style of pasta should be stated, i.e., angel hair or is there a choice? The waitress must have been having a bad day or very new at her job. Huffed when asked about the red wine. Know if the wine is dry or sweet. Light body, heavy body? Know what type of pasta is on a dish. "Fan pasta" as on the creste does not tell me anything, and please don't huff at me again for asking. The restaurant was not crowded at lunch. No refills on drinks. Not asked if we wanted dessert. Not given a dessert menu when asked. She recited names of 3 desserts available. One person in the group had a half salad for her entree at half price, $8.00. Her bill came with an added tip of $8.75 which was the added tip amount that all other10 guests received. If your entree costs $8.00, the tip should not be what my entree of $30.00 was. The music was screaching loud. How about some Italian dinner music in an "Italian" restaurant. A very disappointing experience for a group that dines out often. read more

This place is amazing and I really wish I wouldn't tell you. This is my top choice for pasta. They make all the own pasta fresh and everything on the menu is excellent. Sometimes it's hard to make up my mind. Their salads are fresh and they put the exact right amount of dressing on them to enhance all the flavors. The wine menu has something for everyone and is reasonable priced. The service is attentive and friendly and they all know the menu and will give you excellent recommendations based on what you're feeling. Their remodel is homey and sophisticated. It is recommended to call and make a reservation. I love this place and highly recommend. read more

not very busy for 530 on a Saturday night. OK by me. Had meatballs in sauce, they were good though IMO, not as tender as I like them. also had clams linguine. Thankfully only one or two grains of sand detected. There were a ton of clams, nine in all and other clam pieces mixed in with the pasta. We love Barsotti's. We have been treated so well here by all the members of the staff. Our experience is likely due to finding a seat at the bar both times and getting to speak with bartenders and managers--because it is HARD to get a regular table on a weekend without a reservation, so make sure to reserve one earlier. Pros: The food is phenomenal and large portions--everything we've had from the Ricotta and Garlic Bread, Caesar salad (honestly the best I've ever had), Creste Sunday Gravy (DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS), Chicken Parm Vodka, and Lasagna Bolognese. Yum yum yum. We also have tried their tequila spritz and the negroni with prosecco, and we love both of those. Again, the people are all wonderful. The atmosphere is beautiful. We never got to experience the restaurant when it was Carbone's, but we got to hear from the manager how they renovated the entire interior. It's such a cool vibe inside. Cons: It can get VERY loud and, if you're sitting at the bar, people will awkwardly crowd behind you. It's strange to have a nice meal with no personal space. read more

Let me first say that I love Julian Barsotti's other concepts. I'm a regular at Nonna & Fachini (great Italian spots). This was my first time eating at Barsotti's and I was very underwhelmed. I'm giving them 3 stars because I love his other restaurants but this experience felt more like a 2 :/ The best thing we ordered was the chopped antipasta salad. It was good but I prefer the one from Il Bracco. My fiancé ordered the linguine shrimp scampi for his entree and I got the spaghetti with plum tomatoes. Unfortunately, I didn't realize mine would be over al dente noodles with a glorified marinara sauce. I thought the dish would be more of a butter, garlic, and wine sauce with blistered tomatoes. The shrimp scampi was pretty lemony and the shrimp seemed a little fishy for my taste. And the wines we had were super disappointing for an Italian restaurant. Really wanted to like this place. Been here for both lunch and dinner. The sandwiches for lunch are all wonderful. For dinner, you can't go with anything wrong on the menu, but the Veal Parm is my go to. Great drinks too - crisp martinis and a variety of spritzes that are delightful. read more

I love this place, I went here two weeks after going to Carbone and for some reason I might like this one just a little bit better. It's not as luxurious. It has a simpler aesthetic, but the food is just as good. The servers were super attentive and gave great recommendations for us to try. The main courses and sides came next and there was enough of everything to eat family-style...the way Italian should be eaten!
