I was greeted by this wonderful woman by the name of dulciana and sadly they ran out of pepperoni. The new manager on shift which I've never seen here before Ben was the most charming, kind, and professional. He was told about me missing a slice on my order and the minute it came out he gave me an extra slice for me waiting and that made me feel really appreciated and will definitely will be coming back more often now. A surprise find in Arizona. Outstanding service and decent food, massive portions, and all at an extremely low price makes for a great place for lunch, especially with a big group. They do need to lose the styrofoam cups however. I am surprised styrofoam is still being manufactured. read more

What does it take to get some customer service around here? We walked in and a blonde girl was talking with someone in the back which was okay my husband and i thought she'd come to us which wasn't an issue, but she was in the window where we could visibly see her, she looked over and completely ignored us then went to the other side of the door to where we couldn't see her. Barro's Pizza has been around the Valley since I was a child and as a child it was my favorite place. Nowadays I very rarely go here unless I am meeting with a friend or it's for a local fundraiser. The pizza isn't bad but it's very doughy with too much sauce and a lot of cheese. It tastes pretty good when fresh and hot but I don't like it as leftovers. I much prefer thinner crust pizzas with more flavorful cheese and toppings. Usually they are pretty generous with their toppings but this location seems to skimp more. Inside it's spacious but a little dark, even during daylight hours. Decent place for kids but can be noisy and less comfortable for adults. Lots of items on the menu and the prices remain competitive. Highly recommend trying this place first during lunch time as they have cheap pizza slice deals. read more

My family and I consistently visit this Barro's restaurant. During the weekend, I went a diner with my family and ordered pizza and wings. It was my most dreadful nightmare. Upon consuming the wings, they appeared inadequately cooked and excessively chilly. I contacted the manager, who inquired whether I preferred a refund or a remake. I requested a return due to a loss of appetite. Upon returning home, I contracted food sickness and spent the entire night in the bathroom. I continue to get gastrointestinal distress. So my wife and I went to Barro's Pizza for date night. We haven't been to a Barro's Pizza in over 15 years. We ordered the XL Pizza and Boneless Wing Special. I can't explain to you how much food we got, we had leftover for days, which for the record is a good thing. We ordered the pizza with Sausage, Black Olives, Mushrooms, and Jalapeños, it was so good! I didn't remember their pizza being so thick, deep dish, whatever you call it. I had 2 pieces of 10 and I was done. With our meal the boneless wings came out first, I got 12 of the honey hot and they were to die for! What really surprised me again is how big the boneless wings were. I had 6 of 12. We really enjoyed our time there. The atmosphere was great, the staff was good, and the food was superb! We'll be back! read more

Ordered a pizza and salad last night from the Barro's in Chandler. upon ordered they said it would be less than 1 hour for delivery.. it took over 1 1/2 hours, almost two hours for delivery. I understand when a restaurant is short staffed, but this should be told when the order is placed. Ridiculous to be eating dinner at around 8::30 pm when you thought you were going to be eating at 7:30 pm. Made three phones calls and eventually. talked to the Mgr and he never offered any compensation for my inconvenience. Very disappointing. Pizza is always good. I grew up eating Barro's in SoCal and travel to AZ for work so it's my treat to myself on occasion. I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in my pizza when I opened it back at the hotel. As you can see by the photo I ordered and paid for extra sausage, again referring to another photo, it hardly looks like extra sausage. 12 pieces of sausage on the entire pizza strewn about and 1-2 pieces barely covering more than 1 slice each. Not what I had anticipated at all. Imagine if I didn't order extra, would I had only received 5-6 pieces of sausage for an entire pizza? Shane on you Barro's, you can do better than this. Service was extremely slow even though I was the only one in the restaurant at the time. In fact no one was even at the counter for over 5 minutes when I arrived. The staff was definitely overwhelmed. They seemed short staffed the evening we arrived. I could see they were trying their best to fulfill orders quickly though. It was my husband and my first time. My parents really like the pizza and they have vegan options so we all went to try it. Unfortunately they mixed up the order. We felt badly for them because other people were getting upset for waiting and mix ups. We didn't want to add to that stress. I hope they figured out what the problem was. Really nice and clean restaurant, reasonable prices. I ordered two pizza slices (Hawaiian), a salad, and a soda for $8.50 (Lunch Special).. Unfortunately, when I Took a bite out of my Hawaiian pizza slices, I couldn't believe how incredibly salty they were. At first I wasn't sure if they put salt on the pizza or if they mixed salt in the parmesan cheese shaker which some restaurants to do using very large granular salt to keep the Parmesan cheese from becoming clumped. I approached the staff and they didn't seem to care nor did they offer to replace my slices which was extremely disappointing. Since I was with a large party I asked a couple other people if their Pizzas were salty and about half of them said yes.. I've never in my life had a pizza so salty an ingredient was naturally salty which ham and pineapple is not. So thumbs down on that and Barros lost two stars mostly because the staff didn't offer to replace my pizza.. When I come here again? Yes I would. But I won't accept pizza that salty again and will be more demanding on exchanging it for something else. In regards to cleanliness, I arrived when they had just opened so no one had the chance to dirty up the tables. This location comes up closest to me when I search my maps. I visit it often. But when I go to order for delivery, on multiple occasions. They tell me that they are not able to deliver to me. I am 2 miles from this location. I have to call Riggs who is 2.2 miles away to get them to deliver. I made sure my entire office knows to order from Riggs location from now on. Came to watch a baseball game, ordered pizza and apps. When she brought the apps she said they didn't have any clean plates and would bring some out shortly. Then brings the 4 pizzas we ordered for 4 adults and 5 kids and said again that she would bring clean plates out when they had some clean ones- never did. The 9 of us ate our pizza off of napkins. At this point there was basically no one in the restaurant but us. We ordered the kids some ice cream as we finished the game.. 20min later ice cream came. Place doesn't close until 11pm, it's 9pm-ish at this point and she is cleaning all around us.. asking for shakers off our table and stuff. The order was for take out so i rode my bike to pick it up. They have bike racks to lock up at Barros sweet! The front store person was very nice they have a take out only line so that is convenient. Before reaming these guys, I will start by saying I really appreciated the Friday night quick delivery and thought the wings were good. With that said... If you like thick doughy pizza, defrosted translucent-wilted salad, and rude customer service from a manager by the name of Kendra, then BOY do we have a pizza place for you. Pretty much, everyone knows that salad is one of the riskiest items on any menu, being one of the biggest bacteria carriers. Our disappointment with this order began with what we found in the garden salad container. My wife, being ServSafe certified, noticed a significant portion of lettuce (which seemed to have been frozen and thawed) which was translucent and visually unappealing. We've posted the photos so you can see for yourself, but unfortunately Yelp removed them on 12/14/12 because "...your photos looked more like they captured your personal experience". Umm k. My wife phoned to bring this to the attention of a manager. She politely explained that they may want to check their salad, to keep other customers safe, and requested a refund (for the price of the salad only). I listened in, and can confirm how polite she was. The manager, Kendra, wanted to give us credit instead. My wife explained that we don't plan on ordering from Barro's in the future, and would just like the salad price refunded. The obviously annoyed Kendra replied "OK!" and then hung the phone up. No apology, no thanks for reporting potentially out of temperature food. Nothing but the echo of a dial tone in our receiver. The pizza tasted good, but the texture is accommodating to those who prefer a thick and doughy crust. There are too many other pizza places to put up with potentially tainted food and substandard customer service. No thanks Barro's. read more
