I had a very frustrating experience at Cheba Hut that unfortunately ruined what should have been a simple pickup. I placed a mobile order scheduled for 7:34 PM and arrived around 7:40-7:45. When I walked in, there was one employee working the register. I waited patiently while he helped another customer, but when I tried to get his attention afterward, he raised his finger at me in a dismissive way and told me to wait. Instead of helping me with what should have been a quick mobile pickup, he proceeded to take multiple new walk-in orders from a group that had just come up to the counter, without acknowledging me at all. After waiting even longer, I finally asked if I could just be helped. I was told "they were here first," even after I explained I had a mobile order that should have already been ready. At that point, the interaction escalated out of frustration. Once I gave my name, my order was handed to me quickly, which only reinforced that this could have been resolved in seconds with basic awareness and customer service. To make matters worse, when we got home, the sandwiches were made with barely any sauce--even though we paid extra for it. The lack of sauce made the meal dry and disappointing, to the point where we didn't really enjoy dinner. To be fair, the ingredients themselves did seem fresh, and there is potential here from a food quality standpoint. However, that doesn't outweigh the overall experience. Between the poor handling of a simple mobile pickup and the failure to execute the order correctly, this visit fell well below expectations. This felt less like a one-off mistake and more like a breakdown in both service and attention to detail. I would strongly recommend improvements in how mobile orders are prioritized and how customers are acknowledged when they walk in. read more

To walk around and get some lunch, we came across Cheba Hut so stopped in for lunch. The restaurant inside is done very nice and making the Ambiance nice to sit down and enjoy the food, might add there is plenty of seating inside and outside. Our server was very nice and checked on us a few times. we ordered the Meat ball sub sandwich and must say very good and happy with our choice for lunch, we made it just in time as the crowd started coming in for lunch which is always a GOOD sign to see. A coworker recommended Cheba Hut, so I decided to check it out. She suggested their bestseller, The White Widow, but since I like spice, I went for the Jamaican Red and wow! the subs were absolutely delicious! Also I really appreciated the cleanliness the person making my sub had a long beard but was wearing a face net, which I'm big on. Brian, the bartender, was attentive, and even as he was finishing his shift, he left everything clean, stocked, and ready for the next person also I learned every Wednesday their draft beers are half off, which makes it even more of a reason to go, good subs, beer, ambiance and a great price. Met up with my friend and a few of my new coworkers in the office for the first time today. We decided to come here for lunch since it's quick, easy, and right across the street! We took a bit of an early lunch and beat the lunch rush. There was no line. I think we got there a little after 10:35 and had our food less than 10mins later. My friend and a coworker both ordered the Kali Mist 8" and liked their sandwiches. It was one of their first times here. He said he's been missing out! Another coworker got the Midwest Best (not pictured. He got there a few minutes later) and enjoyed that one. I ordered the KGB with everything on garlic bread and that was delicious!! I chose the Pinner which is eight inches. We also got a rice krispy treat to share. Our subs were brought to our table shortly after ordering. The subs looked fresh and smelled delicious. The food was great. I ordered Acapulco chicken and provolone sub. It had tomato and lettuce barbecue and I ordered an iced tea. And the great thing is is I asked for the sub to be heated and it came perfectly heated. And it came in this really cool bag that was duct taped And I looked at my iced tea and the straw is duct tape to the cup and the opening is duct tape so no one can take sips and there's no spillage. Finally throwing in the towel on this place. Apparently, the employees are now too stoned to fulfill the orders properly. The last 3 orders have absolutely sucked. They are apparently to high to follow the basic ingredients listed for each sandwich. Sad to see this place decline so much over the last year. Officially done with the stoners and the bad food coming out this restaurant. Shame on them for a complete example of how a place goes from good to horribly bad for this location and management. Maybe don't have a bunch of non caring stoners making sandwiches. It's killing the quality they once had.
