Way overpriced, food is average, lakewood location is unfortunately the same.........

You should really do yourself a favor and go to an authentic pupuseria or arepa restaurant. Very low quality overpriced food. Yelp pupuseria or arepa and go there instead, you'll be glad you did read more

You won't find this authentic of food anywhere else in Cleveland. Their food is unbeat. I bring all of my out of town guests here whenever they visit. I came here when they first opened their Crocker park location and just came back a year later and what a difference in service! Understandably, in the beginning it was an adjustment for them, but now, we had the best waitress we've had in years, Leslie! We made one small mention it was my husband and I's dating anniversary and she came out with icecream to celebrate! We felt like honored guests. I will forever give business to Barroco. Nothing like it in Cleveland! read more

This location is a pretty good expansion of the original lakewood location. It has the chachkis and funky charms which were an unexpected surprise, but well done and fun. The food was as tasty and delicious as I've ever had from Barroco. I'll be back to this location when it's warranted, proceed. read more

Food is overpriced for the quality. Tostones were rock hard, empanadas didn't have a lot of flavor and the guy playing music was blasting everyone's ear drums out! read more

This restaurant is so fun. The drinks are delicious and then the appetizers on point. The corn dip and guacamole always flavorful. I also really enjoy their main entrees my favorite is the fajitas. But to top it all off their desserts WOW out of this world amazing. Been to both locations and had great experiences. I will be back! read more

I would of been better off with a peanut butter and jelly at home. Service was overrated and food just ok. Bartender didn't want to be at work or didn't want to serve me. They gave me the oldest fruit they had in my drink. But notice she gave a white girl fresh fruit in her drink after me. I would NEVER visit this location again. Chicken tasted old. I've been to the lakewood location multiple times with great experience. Westlake need to do better seriously. They didn't have anything I wanted to order so I should have left then. I really want my time back read more

1st time at this location. Stopped in for a quick lunch. Cold day, so we ordered a cup of coffee. It had a slight hint of cinnamon, which was actually pretty good, considering I'm not one for flavored coffees at all. I ordered a chicken arepa, which had peppers, onions and corn in it. very tasty. My side was tostones. Those were tasty as well, however, I thought they were too well done. Almost hard. Tostones should have a slight softness to them. Sauces were tasty. Service was average. Young girl, not very attentive. Had to get our own silverware from another table. We will give it another try though. read more

To Go Order Apripas Vegitarian. I guess to them it means only cheese! WTF 8oz solid cheese nothing else and I ordered 4 At 60$ ....thats insane. No sides no napkins! 4 boxes with a grilled corn Quesadilla on steroids. I mean gross Come on... Who is going to stomach that? No salsa, no guacamole, no chips? NOT RECOMMENDED read more

I love Barroco! The food is so flavorful and creative - you get a lot of sauces to try and and they are all amazing. I love the yuca fries! I definitely recommend dining here if you are looking for a fun atmosphere with great food and drinks. read more

I traveled to Columbia last year for work and this is the best Columbian food I've had in the states. Their arepas are droolworthy and the yuca fries were amazing. I think my favorite part though was the sauces! I've always been a sauce fan. So I love that they bring 5 to your table! I also tried their coconut mojito and felt like I was transported back to sipping coconut limeade, only with alcohol. I look forward to trying the bowls and some guac next time! The only thing that I didn't see on the menu that I would love for them to add is fresh fruit juice! My favorite part of traveling in Latin America was all of the fresh juice (mango especially). Overall, a great way to introduce a taste of Columbia to those who have never been! read more

I think we found a new favorite restaurant! We were just simply looking for a decent, fun place to celebrate our daughter's graduation, and Barroco was our last ditched effort for a late dinner, since most restaurants at Crocker Park were closing at 9PM. We got turned away minutes before at another restaurant nearby. We proceeded to walk around to see if we could find another place to dine in, and just when we were losing hope, spotted Barroco. We got there about about 20 minutes before closing, and a staff employee welcomed us and assured us we could still order dinner. Everything was great... from the hospitable customer service, and kind attentive friendly servers, to the food. The sangria was 'best in class' too, and my wife was raving about it. Our server even gave our daughter a 'to go' surprise dessert for her graduation! Great job Barroco... this is how you win new customers over and keep them. Needless to say, we will be returning often! read more

I was looking forward to going here because I love Latin food and there aren't that many places around to get that. However this location was not good. My favorite thing to get is sweet plantains. When I went to order them the waitress said oh I should tell you we are out of the sweet plantains and also french fries. This was at lunchtime at 11:30am so they could not have run out. They obviously were just never made. I had a chicken and rice bowl that was just okay. I was with a group of 6 and nobody thought their food was above average. The chairs inside were also very uncomfortable. Disappointed. read more

My sister and I split the Barroco Burger and the La Gringa arepa. The arepas are a bit pricey at $16, but it is worth it! The beef was spilling out of the arepa, they definitely don't skimp out on the meat. Got it with a side of Yucca fries and they were really good! The burger was also better than expected and I would definitely order that again. Good flavors, cute seating outside, and I like how they have multiple sauces on the table to sample. If you like spicy, the spicy peanut sauce they have is amazing. read more

I'm happy they are still operating during covid. I order out these days instead of dine in. Barroco is my favorite Cleveland restaurant.

Really good. Friendly staff. Drinks were strong and for kindve hip place the food tasted good and authentic.

We were seated promptly as they were not really busy. The two of us sat at a small table by the fireplace. Not being acknowledged by a server finally after 5 minutes a server dropped off two glasses of water without saying anything to us and disappeared. We were quite ready to order and still not acknowledged. After waiting another 5 minutes we finally gave up. We never were acknowledged, we don't mind waiting if someone would let us know but we were totally ignored. Very rude and disappointing. read more

I have been to the barroco on lakewood many times and it never disappoints. The foood and the atmosphere just make it a amazing place. So I decided to try the new one in Crocker Park and i have to say I was not as impressed. To start off the food took a very long time to come out and everyone was very hungry. Then when we asked if he had the ceviche that we loved from the lakewood place he told us it was tooken off all menus along with other things. Since there expansion their arepa prices have gone up and all the food portions have gone down. We got half of what we used to get and we ordered a bowl of black bean soup and the bowl was insanely small. But overall the atmosphere was and the food were delicious but I am going to stick to the lakewood one read more

This is probably my favorite newly opened restaurant on the west side. The drinks are consistently delicious and the food is unique and fun. I've had two great meals here - both lunch and dinner. The service is solid but not remarkable. The atmosphere is fun and lighthearted. But the food and drink, rightly, steal the show. read more

Tried the crocker one and was pleasantly surprised! I got la succia arepa with tostones and it was amazing!!! I loved their variety of sauces, each one was delicious both with the arepa and Tostones. Little expensive and took a decent time to come out but well worth it and i had leftovers for a whole other meal. read more

The service was very good. The food was flavorless. I don't like posting negative reviews but honestly, one of the worst meals I have had in a restaurant. read more

1st time eating Arepas . Quite good. Liked the décor of the restaurant. Service was fast & attentive. Food came out quickly . Everyone enjoyed their meal. On the menu they describe what the some of the food is. Helpful , thanks "B". I'm a cheapskate , so $16 for a "burrito" & little side salad is pricey. The Arepas ain't huge , not little either. But . . . food isn't cheap anymore and I/we were eating in a restaurant which I'd go back. Go, try something different you'll enjoy it ! read more

First time here for dinner. Got there on a Friday around 6 and the place was surprisingly slow. We were seated in a corner by fireplace (non working) and it was freezing. We sat for a good 5-7 minutes before I actually had to get up and ask for service. After that, service was ok for the rest of our meal. I ordered a $5 happy hour cocktail with Tito's and fresh berries-it was excellent. But all went downhill after that. We each ordered Arepas. The presentation was pretty but the food itself was dry and bland and overpriced. The arepa shell itself was very dry and the side of costones had zero flavor. Just overall disappointing experience. Maybe the other food is ok. Heard the brunch is very good. Sorry, won't be back and I doubt this place will make it at Crocker Park for long term. read more

Can't believe authentic Colombian food can be found in Westlake Ohio. Having been to Bogota twice in the last year, this is a great surrogate for actually being there! read more

Weve been to Barroco in Lakewood many times and it is wonderful. The new one in Crocker Park, not so much. First, they took over a beautiful building and painted over the lovely varnished wood inside and out, then put their tacky décor of garish colors and magic marker scribbles over everything. Hugely tacky. The food is flavorful, but the prices are horrendous. $16 for a sandwich. Outrageous. I will be surprised if it is still there in the spring, building that has been destroyed.and then Crocker Park will be stuck with a once-beautiful read more

We had decided to come to Barroco after solid reviews from friends. We started our orders off with some queso and guacamole; both of which were rather lackluster and left much to be craved. We only kept going back for more chips as we had to wait really long for our meals to be brought out. Finally, our food comes out and we both agree that we should've gone to eat somewhere else. My arepa was bone dry and very gritty, especially the chicken. My friend's pupusas were very bland. The food was disappointing for the price point. The value is just not there. Thankfully, we had a stellar server and the atmosphere was welcoming. read more

I was so excited to try this place.. I probably won't go back. The food was ok, actually pretty good, but the service wasn't the greatest. I watched the manager visit many different tables to check on patrons and not once were we checked on. I ordered a fabulous coconut mojito and watched as other guests had their beverages refilled or were brought additional drinks. Not once did anyone ask us if we wanted anything else. We left and went to Bar Louie for martinis. read more

We decided on Barocco after hearing great reviews of Lakewood locations. Despite harsh early reviews and high expectations, my wife and I had two fantastic meals, an app and two speciality drinks during happy hour. Great vibe and service. Give it a try. read more

We frequented the Lakewood location for several years and soon after we moved to Westlake we were psyched to hear they were opening a spot in Crocker Park. Went on a Tuesday night before going to a movie...we were honestly pushing it since the movie was going to start in 20 minutes but we were sat right away at a table in the bar area and the bartender took our orders immediately after we explained our situation (he even made sure to put in our order before the table of 15 people near us). Food came out quickly, just as delicious as the original location. Paid our bill and made it into the theater just as the previews were ending. Thanks Barroco! read more

Awesome food, sad they eliminated the food component of happy hour. Need to bring that back! Great service and good atmosphere.
