It was my first experience at this bar and it's been around for decades. I had heard of it and many friends have been there, but when one of my favorite local cover bands was going to play there I decided it was time. I reached out to the place ahead of time because I saw on their website. They have a VIP section that you can reserve ahead of time for 100 bucks so I did that. Chris, the manager, was super helpful via text Message in helping me plan the evening. Their drinks were reasonable and the space was perfect for listening to this band. Food wise it's a challenge. The bar doesn't have a kitchen, rather they rely on sweet basil to deliver food next-door. Sweet basil has wonderful pizza and food however, on a Saturday night they closed at 8 PM. That's not the bar's fault, but it's something to be aware of if you plan on going to eat there. read more

My friends and I came here last Saturday night to check out a live band. It seems like this bar often has life music and it had a very fun vibe when we came in. However, they had packed so many people into this bar that we could barely enter the door. Moving from one side of the bar to the other, we had to weave in and out, shoulder to shoulder, and could barely move. I would have liked to have stayed, but there was no way I was going to enjoy myself being that packed in. I fully believe that the bar was at full capacity or possibly over which isn't safe. They do have a large parking lot, but it was over full as well. I would give this place another try, on a different night. The crowd was mainly people in their 50s and 60s, but that was probably because of the type of band that was playing that night. I didn't get a drink, because I couldn't even get to the bar. Shady...shady....shady... Have you ever desired to pay $8 for a bottled domestic beer? Then this is the spot for you. Walked into the place to see live music was playing, nobody at the door. Vibe was good and live music was great, ordered some domestic beers at the bar and had a good time. When the bill came we realized we paid $8 for domestic beers that would be no more than $4 anywhere else and they had added on a $20 fee for the live music. Only been there once but my date and I had a good time. Fast service and there was so many different games and things to do to keep us entertained. There wasn't a lot of ppl there so that probably made a difference on the speed of the service. Also I'm pretty sure the only women in that place at the time was my girlfriend and the bartender so I wouldn't recommend going there looking for girls. Pizza from Sweet Basil's next door. They also have salads, but they stop serving at around 7pm and you have to go get it yourself. I waited 1/2 hr + before I asked where it was and they FINALLY told me I'd have to go to Sweet Basil's and they hadn't even made it! You have to go to the bar yourself to order a drink.sometimes they are so busy it takes a little while,Mostly high top tables.only 1low table! People often have parties there. If Disco Inferno is laying there it's VERY crowded! Fun atmosphere. read more

This bar is for the mature crowd. Located about 20 minutes from downtown Cleveland, they have reasonably priced drinks, a private parking lot and pizza. They also have TVs, a juke box and a pool table/game area. I was there on the weekend, when they had a band playing. It was a good time. Just a place that there was nice much drama, very laid back and everyone having a good time. They have a retro themed band playing every Friday and Saturday. They also have special karaoke nights and weekly drink specials as well. The bar has nostalgic decor and a moderate dance floor, but there is definitely not a club vibe. Even though it is a bit out of the way and not around anything of significance, This is a great joint to check out if, especially if you don't want to party with the millennial crowd. read more

This is a bar for college kids. Went for a birthday party for my cousin & had a great time. Our bartendress Alyssa was such a knockout I died. Pizza from next door, quick service cash bar. A great time! I rolled out around 10:30 with my dignity intact and a hoarse throat from loud talking with my cousins. A grunge band started up and I heard various out of key intros and split before the cops showed up. The local yokels crashed the pool table even tho we rented the room. My buddy was KO'ed in the parking lot one time by mistake. Let's get goin. Oh u wanna go?? BLAM!! I wasn't there we weren't even friends yet. Let's be honest, people don't go to Westlake for a night out. However, if you find yourself in the area looking for something to do, this place is a blast. There is live music, affordable drinks, and people from all walks of life. The decor is oddly dated and very eclectic and so are the patrons. It actually adds some fun to the overall experience. We have been a couple times and have never been let down. Always a good time. The bar staff is amazing and super personable. This is on average an older crowd and definitely not the spot if you are looking for a night club type of experience. If you and some friends just want to grab some drinks and have a couple laughs, go on a Friday or Saturday night. read more

This place is completely deceiving. I was a little intimidated at first glance. Tinted windows, drink specials plastered on the exterior glass, a cheesy bar name. But what the hell. We were out here anyways waiting on a pizza at Sweet Basil and decided to wait out the completion of our order at this adjacent bar. Inside, it's a complete time warp as the name appropriately suggests. '80's kitsch everywhere. Movie paraphernalia, framed gold records, lava lamps, mini-football helmets like every little boy collected in their youth and more. Seating includes plenty of high-tops, a bar with apx. 10+ stools and a few comfy couches. The space is extremely clean and tidy. Not skeevy at all. My Mom would totally approve. It almost looked brand new. The bartender is very accommodating and told us about some of the weekly entertainment that included beer pong! She went on to say that if we ever order at Sweet Basil again, they would offer to call over there so they could let us know when our order was ready. How accommodating! I can see this place being great for a reunion or a trivia night. If nothing more, the cheese factor alone would be plenty entertaining. read more

So many times we have planned to visit the Time Warp and something always came up. Well, we made it and it was out of this world! This place is a hidden gem. Located in a non descriptive plaza, you wouldn't expect much, but plenty of free parking. You will be transported back in time to the days of smoke filled barrooms, (don't worry, it's just a fog machine), and live music, pinball, video games and pool tables. This place was so much nicer inside than I expected. It's big and would be a great gathering spot for a birthday group or friend get together. There is plenty of entertainment from big screens to watch the game, Skeeball and bowling machines and live music every weekend. Great local bands bring you back in time and carry you on a musical journey to your past. Plenty of room to dance. The dance floor has a giant neon clock decor above it. Fun place and unique to take out of town guests in for the weekend. Full bar and good times for all. The decor is flashback to movie and general celebrity trivia. Where do I begin with this hot mess? I guess let's go with the obvious...the decor. The best way to describe it is to ask you to picture someone buying knick knacks from a neighborhood wide garage sale and sticking the objects up on the walls and around the bar. Old Brett Favre jerseys, lava lamps, movie posters, Christmas lights...it was just weird. The drink prices were very reasonable...I'll give them that. A pint of Yuengling was $2.75. There was a band playing the night I was there. I don't know if it was the bar's acoustics or the band's amps turned up to 11, but damn it was loud. You had to shout and hope the person sitting next to you could read your lips! I'm pretty sure you had to grow up in West Lake to fully appreciate this bar. If you're an outsider, you may want to grab a beer elsewhere. read more

Do not let the name, flashy window lights, or the strip mall appearance fool you. I went to Time Warp for the first time and was shocked that the interior was super clean. There was a really cool band playing everything from Donna Summers to Tom Petty. The girls at the bar were really nice. Went to Time Warp last night to see the Spazmatics. Great bar, very clean. The guy bartender Chris made sure everyone not only had drinks but was cleaning too. The bar smelled clean even the bathrooms were clean. Had a good time and will come back again. read more

Fun place for live cover bands on the west side. Servers are friendly if not always fast, but the live music will keep you occupied while you wait. Have never heard a band here that was bad. Not the hot new bar on the radar, but the charm is that it's not trying to be. Highly recommended for the over 30 crowd who prove that tequila shots can make anyone sing Bon Jovi at the top of their lungs. read more

I dragged my feet when my boyfriend dragged me to this bar to meet friends... but was pleasantly surprised! Don't let the outside appearance fool you, it's not a dive bar. It's spacious and clean inside, with a great atmosphere... Fun, but relaxed. Plenty of games off to the right hand of the room, a stage to the left that some good local bands have played (which draw quite the crowd!), and TVs all around to catch the game with friends. They have a good drink list, particularly with various mules! The bartenders are friendly, and the crowd isn't skeevy. Great local bar for a chill night out with friends. Only cons: Limited food choices, although you can order from Sweet Basil's next door. Never been to this place but WAY better than almost anywhere I'd been in Cleveland. Great staff, much nicer crowd than many bars and the band rocked big time. "Cleveland's Breakfast Club". Cool sound system and for those who didn't want their face blown off (we did) they could hang behind the band on the pool table side and still hear things. As someone who likes Sweet Basil's pizza but dislikes squawking children, this is a good place to hide out while downing a pie - you can get table service from the parlor next door. The beer is cheap, though the draft selections are paltry. If not for the pizza, I don't think this would be a frequent stop. The decor is like a sexagenarian's man cave, and the crowd reflects that. Met some friends from work for a Happy Hour here last week. The venue is wide open with plenty of space, some interesting decor (racy, vintage photos and posters), some TVs, and plenty of games. Although we sat at a table, there was no waitress to help us so we had to keep going to the bar to order beer and food. Can't beat $1 drafts and $2 pizza by the slice (although you get what you pay for - the pizza was very card-boardy). Lots of complimentary popcorn as well (sorry about the mess). So, this place is A-OK for an after work happy hour gathering, but I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable coming here just for the food/service. read more

It said to describe my experience~Waste of time (Warp)! went this past Saturday to check it out prior to the nights show the 80's band, service was mediocre at best. No table service during the day, just the bartender, when she's not playing with her friends she would eventually come by, no food except the pizza next door, game room was nice, bathroom smelled. Left and came back early to get seats for the show. service even slower bartender was frazzled snappy, we started to just go up and order, must have been the A team coming on, but they were to caught up in the bar drama evidently. Once the band came on they were too loud, but they still put on a good show for the hour we stayed. Then we realized why there is no cover, the prices are ridiculous, we are not downtown! Our Meetup group with 23 attendees returned to The Time Warp Bar and dances with SHOUT!-- one of the best bands in greater Cleveland. Our service was excellent, the staff warm and friendly, and we filled the dance floor with our gyrations. We will definitely be back. I recently spent a couple of hours here on a Saturday night. Being a young man in the '80s, I thought an '80s themed bar might be fun in a nostalgic way. The band was one of those, mass produced, but fun type. The drinks were reasonable for a neighborhood bar, and parking was convenient. The young women tending bar were arguably the worst I've ever encountered. They were rude, arrogant, and condescending. Then they proceeded to try and give me someone else's credit card to pay my tab. They had given my card to someone else and refused to admit it. They were convinced I was scamming them, when in reality they made a simple mistake by mixing up credit cards with the corresponding tabs. An argument ensued, and my friends and I left. I would rather have a root canal or even a colonoscopy without the benefit of anesthesia, than return to this hideous bar. read more

I had a surprise birthday party for my beautiful wife Friday night. They reserved tables for my party. The bar had a pleasant atmosphere. The bar was right by our tables making it convenient to refill our drinks. They had plenty games to keep us all entertained. The band was a nice addition.
