On our recent trip to Paris, my family and I ended up eating here twice because we enjoyed it so much. Our server, Stephen (Etienne?) was great. He even made all three of our daughters smile. We had delicious aperitifs and cocktails, pate en croute, grilled octopus, rib eye steak, shrimp, escargot in mushroom caps and more. Even our kids went crazy for the squid ink mashed potatoes with chorizo and the grilled octopus. It was so nice to have a place where we felt comfortable and well-treated by the staff and could relax and enjoy great meals. This was our favorite restaurant in Paris. read more

Walked in purely becaue the other place we wanted to have sinner was closed. Were hesitant about having dinner here, checked it out on yelp looked kosher and so we get a table for 3. Very comfortable seating, good scenery. Very nice sommelier on duty, we 1st order a bottle of chateu neuf de pope, wine was corked whe the bottle was first open. We were so sad since that was the bottle we really wanted. Sommelier, suggested a wine from Languedoc, which i am not familiar with but he explained to us in detailed the bluquet, taste and notes of wine and were sold before we even asked for the price. Long and behold he brings the bottle, opens it and voila. Awesome wine so, we paired the wine with pata negra ham, foi gras as starters. The foi gras was creamy, rich and they had a little bit of sea salt that really made the difference when u spead it on top. Main course i had roasted lamb with a ragu of veggies. Lamb was not gamey at all, rich broth with roasted veggies on bottom. Flavors that can be appreciate in layers. shrimp risotto had grilled shrimp with heads on. Very tasty shrimp well seasoned. Risotto itself was perfect drizzled with a bit of olive oil. The steak with roasted potatoes had thime aromatics. Everything on the table was delicious as we finished it all. For dessert we had a liquid dessert. Once again the sommelier brought out a 30 year old sweet wine, which i have never seen in the USA. Had it and loved it, at first i thought we were having port wine. He went on to explain what we were having and it was truly a great finish to the meal. Dinner here was expensive mostly due to our affinity for wine since the bottle of wine was €60 food was €151. Bill total 211 euros, very well worth the price and the wine advise. read more

I had a wonderful lunch at Baroche during my time in Paris. I had the House Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and Rosemary Broth. It was absolutely delicious! The quality of ingredients was incredible, the chicken was so tender and flavorful, and I wanted to lick the bowl because the broth had such deep flavor. An Aperol Spritz was a lovely addition to the meal. They give you wonderfully warm fresh bread and popcorn at the table. Such a nice touch. Delicious onion soup. Portions are a good size for the price and the staff is pretty friendly and on top of things (unlike other brasseries I've been to). So one of the things to know when you go visit the arc of triumph is that many of the cafés and restaurants along the main street are sort of hit and miss. It's always better if you can do it to cool off to one of the side streets and enjoy a better meal. This brasserie has a wonderful selection, great menu, including an English menu, and is great for the must-have French onion soup. It doesn't take too long to walk from the main street and you'll be very happy you took the detour. I ordered the salmon Caesar salad which was delicious. My wife ordered the French onion soup which was divine lots of cheese very savory and to top it off they have freshly baked bread from their own restaurant. We stumbled upon this place because it was close to our hotel, but then were totally bummed when they weren't open the next day. Yeah, it was that good. We had a simple lunch here - a salad with smoked duck and gizzards and a piece of their foie gras pie...but everything about those dishes was delicious. Starting from the bread that they cut next to you and lightly toast, to the perfectly cooked potatoes in the salad, to the delicious fig that was embedded in the foie gras cake - just perfect. Of course, this was all over a carafe of some excellent Rose. Please make sure that this cafe is on your list to run into while you walk around Champs Elysees! Can't go wrong! read more

I'll give the big 5 stars here. First, if you need a place where English is spoken by the staff, you will be happy. More important, the food is very good. I ordered the pork belly. Very tender. My brother-in-law ordered the ribeye, despite another Yelp review that warned against doing so. I told him not to do it. It was not a good cut of meat. He never listens to me. Anyhow, avoid the ribeye. The potatoes were fresh and served hot, and the Bordeaux was very good. Service is good for a Paris cafe, so take that for what it is worth. C'est bon! read more

Baroche is conveniently located next to Champs-elyseé. The food is priced between 10€ to ~17€ for appetizers and around 17€ to 25€ for main dishes. They also offer a selection of desserts. For 60€, we had 2 espressos with delicious cookies, 1 foie gras pie with fig (appetizer), 2 black/blood sausage with pork belly and a medley of vegetables including peas, carrots, cucumbers and snow peas, and 1 creme brûlée. The sausage was very soft and seemed like a slice from a bigger sausage. The pork belly was crispy on the outside, but still easy to cut. The vegetables were also soft. I was not a big fan of the sauce, but it wasn't overly salty or overpowering. The foie gras pie was literally a piece of toast, but with the bread replaced with foie gras and fig sauce. They also have a glob of fig and onions mixed together. The creme brûlée was amazing. It was larger than expected, about the size of a coffee dish. It was very creamy and I could eat this forever. The sugary top was thin, I would prefer it to be a little thicker, so there's more sugar with the creme brûlée in every bite. They have an English menu and free wifi as well. The service was quick and the free bread was warm and toasty. read more

This lovely little find was just around the corner from our hotel and we ate here our first night. Staff were very friendly and accommodating with food restrictions. Decide to drop in (or actually run in) when the rain was pouring down. It's a small café on a corner off the beaten path. It's possible to get breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. It was a bit early for lunch for us, so we decided to go for a cup of coffee and tea. Really good coffee and Kusmi tea. Also had the vanilla creme brulé which was soooooo tasty - and quite big also. Kind, efficient staff - and the speak really good English! Nice decor and small round tables. Relaxing just to sit and enjoy a cup of tea and listen to the soft jazz playing. read more

Honestly it was quite bland food for the price, not the best meal I've had especially for the cost :/ I didn't feel like the chicken and risotto had any particular flavor. Service was fine tho less so when it got busier. Would not spend so much on such a meal again. But perhaps it is just what I ordered (mushrooms w snails, chicken w risotto). Should have just gone perhaps with other things instead of sticking to what they offered for the formula meal? Really impressed with this restaurant especially being one block off Champ Elysees. Delicious and varied menu. Reasonably priced. Cozy yet elegant inside. Enjoyed the foie gras appetizer which was plenty for two. The duck breast was moist and perfectly seasoned. Great choice for lunch or dinner. My first meal in Paris on this trip, about 500 meters from my hotel. I went with two specials (French onion soup, squid risotto) which were recommended by the friendly and attentive waitress, and was quite happy. The food wasn't terrible but a bit disappointing given the price. The service wasn't great either. A dirty fork came out with some food still left on it and the waiter did not seem concerned. The two waiters serving the entire restaurant also took a long time to see us as they were multitasking a lot of things. Also the overall design is a bit strange. We stopped here for dinner in our late night in Paris. The previous reviews were helpful and did not stir us wrong. Our server Steven was great!! He was very attentive and helpful. All of his suggestions were on point and delicious! My husband had the onion soup to start and pork belly with octopus for main course. I had the buffalo Mozzetta and lamb...all dishes were delicious! We were slightly disappointed that they didn't have an macaroons left due to it being summer they only serve a certain amount a day and we came when they were out but the dessert we shared based on Stevens recommendation (the chocolate mousse) has us forget about the macaroons. We had some cocktails which both were equally great (the Moscow mule with a twist and a very balanced mojito). My husband and I will def visit this gem again when we return to Paris. read more

Was traveling in Paris for the day and decided to try out this place. I will admit I was draw in by the fake polar bear skins they have in the seats, it just looked pretty cool. The host greeted me and was very friendly quickly picked up I didn't speak much French and began speaking English to me and even gave me an English written menu. The food was great! I had the French onion soup and the 12 hour braised beef. The beef was amazing, best braised beef ever! The service was great to, server very friendly. This was by far our favorite restaurant in Paris. We actually ate here two nights in a row! The waiter we had was absolutely amazing, I literally ate whatever he recommended. The first night my husband and I shared the stuffed mushrooms with snails and the recommended bottle of wine. I am not a big red wine drinker but I think France has changed me and this bottle specifically was great. (Picture attached). For dinner I had the beef chuck dish served with mushrooms, this was literally the best thing I ate my entire stay in Paris (this dish is literally the reason we went back for a second night), my husband made the mistake of not ordering the same ;), he instead ordered the fish and chips, which was a good standard option. For dessert I had the napoleon, my husband the chocolate pear tart. On night two, my husband then ordered the amazing beef chuck mushroom dish, I wanted to try something new in expanding my Parisian experience and ordered the sea bass. It was great as well but the beef chuck is absolutely the way to go! For dessert i had the Crème brûlée and my husband the macaroons. Situated a few blocks off Champs-Elysees, Baroche appears to be a tourist trap, just waiting for starving tourists to fall prey to its clean, open environment. But Baroche actually has decent food options with huge portions. We stumbled on Baroche when we exited the pharmacy across the street. The space looked spacious and inviting, so we decided to eat lunch here. Menus are available in various languages and the wait staff also speak English. Complementary bread and butter arrived after the water, the bread was severely burnt, so did not try it. We ordered the Homemade Duck Foie Gras Pie and Cod Fritters to start, followed by the French Southwest Salad and Farm Chicken. This was more than enough food for 2 people. The foie gras pie was a nice mixture of salty meat with sweet dried figs and onion jam. The cod fritters were a bit doughy, but it was easily masked by the accompanying dipping sauce. The salad is very hearty with roasted potatoes and duck. And the chicken was moist and went well with the mushrooms underneath. Even though I wanted to order desert, I was too stuffed.
