I was actually in the mood for a tri-tip which it seems nobody in Tucson offers anymore after chewy's has closed and was hoping that they would have it, but they did not. I went for the prime rib, sliders, and my wife went for the brisket sliders. The meals come with many choices for sides and they have about three different types of fries you can get. My wife got the Texas fries, which is basically homemade from the real potato and I got the crinkle cut fries. The food itself is very good. My fries weren't exactly piping hot but hard enough to eat. Our waitress was very nice and on top of things. We found out that this place has music, trivia, and music bingo. My friend's boyfriend chose this place for us to go to for lunch yesterday. They've been in the past. We walked into the bar area & just seated ourselves at a high top. We waited a few minutes before someone came over to greet us. It was an older, blonde female. She never told us her name but she had asked us if we wanted something to drink. I inquired about seltzers & they only had High noon Watermelon & White claw Mango. I was disappointed in their slim options so I asked for a Tito's soda with lemon. She brought our drinks over right away & of course there was a lime in my drink & she apologized & said it was her fault and quickly came back with lemons. I order the fried mushroom & fried zucchini appetizer and it came out prior to my meal. I actually perfer zucchini spears, they serve slices. These veggies were OK. They came with a side of ranch. The portion wasn't worth the cost of them. Another waitress, Kelsey (I asked her her name as she was so friendly/nice) was running around who brought out our appetizer but I had to ask for another silverware setting as there was only 2 on the table to begin with & there were 3 of us. I also had to ask for plates so I could share with my friends. I decided to go with the brisket with cheese sandwich & substituted my fries for onion rings. I had asked our waitress if the onion rings were homemade & she said "no, but they're really good." I also added a side of Western beans. The brisket was dry but it came with a side of yummy, sweet BBQ sauce....thank God! I didn't want the bun & just ate the brisket. The onion rings were OK & I didn't like the beans. They weren't sweet @ all & had a spicy kick to them. She was nice & took them off my bill when I told her I didn't like them. Our waitress did come back shortly after we dug into our food to ask us how things were & if we needed anything. She was a good waitress but man she seemed so miserable. She wasn't happy or chipper and it seemed like she didn't want to be there by her demeanor. There were games on the big screen TV's near by. This seems to be a "sports bar." AZ was playing. I did find that it was hard to hear my friend's while trying to converse with them. We asked for our check & she asked if we wanted any to-go containers which my friend's did as they had left overs. Things were brought over shortly but once she dropped the check off she took off, my friend even had her CC out & ready to cash out. I'm giving 3 stars due to the food & the prices of the food. So disappointed. My daughter and I were excited by all the menu choices but execution and service fell short. I rated it a 2 because we didn't finish the food and it was not good enough to take home. First failure our water and sprite never came. The waiter literally disappeared. When he showed up again and we asked for our drinks he had clearly forgotten all about them. The food was slow to arrive. My daughter ordered a burger. As it was delivered she had to ask for all the condiments. They didn't come with the burger nor were they on the table. She took two bites of her burger and pushed it away as terrible. I ordered pesto pasta with salmon. The pasta tasted like they used a box of instant pasta. The salmon portion was large but dry. I ate my salmon only. Then we had to wait and wait for the check. The restaurant was half full on a Saturday night. I think the company needs to get some mystery shoppers in and restructure and retrain. read more

This is an extremely good place to watch sports. Friendly, attentive staff, numerous TV's, and a good selection of beverages. Food? They offer it but I have not yet tried it... The place is a lot larger than one would think. The bar is separate from the dining room. They offer Karaoke and Trivia on certain nights as well. We went there today for the corned beef and cabbage meal. The corned beef was very fatty, greasy, and some parts were overdone and tough. The cabbage tasted good but didn't look good, a strange color and edges were burnt. The boiled potatoes were delicious. Two dinners and two soft drinks came to $59. What a waste of money. I told the server the meat had a lot of fat on it and she ignored me. We sat in a booth by a window. The window sill had dead bugs, a fly trapped by the blinds and a creepy crawling bug. Eighteen Dollars for a lunchmeat sandwich. Green Chile Turkey Melt sandwich was 18 dollars. I asked if they did their turkey and she said yes. That made me expect real sliced turkey. Was clammy smooth rubbery lunchmeat with that fake smoked turkey flavoring. The predominant flavor of the whole sandwich was the cheap margarine dripping from the soaked under-toasted bread. The Texas Style Beans side was confusing. Do they not cook beans in Texas? These were crunchy. We won't feel the need to try their other offerings. read more

Man I so wanted to like this meal. First I showed up to pickup a Togo order and the front desk girl was in the back chatting instead of watching the front door. As I grab my food I ask if there are utensils in the bag, to which she responds "sorry we don't have any". I explained to her that I'm staying in a hotel and require utensils. The food was excellent! One of the best briskets I have ever had. Ordered the brisket/chicken combo with mashed potatoes and gravy, and Texas beans. The chicken was so good. Potatoes, also amazing. However, the beans were undercooked. But our server offered a replacement side, so we got Texas toast- which was really good. The BBQ sauce was perfection. Not too sweet, not too spicy. Came here last Wednesday for a birthday dinner. We got the onion rings as an appetizer and they were delicious, great batter and fried perfectly. Unfortunately the rest of the food did not live up to the onion rings. I got the pulled pork sandwich, which was okay. The mac n cheese was horrendous - overcooked pasta with what looked like merely broiled, shredded cheese? Making a roux is simple and adding cheese that has actual flavor is not much to ask for.. I would have been happier with boxed mac n cheese, to be honest. The other people got steak fries, beans, and grilled chicken and the bbq sampler with brisket and pulled pork. The beans were also strange - they were super spicy, but not in the sense that they were hot, just a ton of actual spices to the point where they were a bit gritty. The brisket was sad and dry. The chicken was bland, but it was cooked well and not dry. Our server was great and it was not very loud on a Wednesday. I wouldn't come back. The food is mediocre for the price. read more

GO STEELERS! Lotsa love here for the Black & Yellow.  Bar was 90% full for the Wild Card Raven match up. Met some friendly Penn State & Pitt Steeler fans which was awesome.  Green Bay is the back up, U of A flags, Cardinals etc, it's a great Sports Bar!  Quieter Dining Room in the other side.  4+ local taps incl Dragoon, Barrio Blonde, 2 Hazys and domestics $6 a pitcher during HHr 11-4pm daily,  $8 Specialty cocktails and Margheritas all sounded like beach hut pours, pass except for a Moscow Mule and a $11 Patron Cadillac.  Hubby and I shared the Half Rack Combo $34 with brisket. A Caesar counts as a side here, bummer, so took a spud for our 2nd side. Caesar dressing had great flavor, think it was bottled, served in a solo on side, and lots of Parm sprinkles, it was a tasty beginning. As a side, next time would ask for it to come out first before the hot mains so we have time to eat it as our mains got cold while eating the salad. Ribs 3.5/5 were fall off bone though we prefer a bit of give/chew, good bark though and BBQ sauce has slight vinegar tang, not sickly sweet, we used all of it too. Brisket though you get 3 huge, meaty thick 3/4" slabs, they were not as good as the ribs. More steamed texture, flaky dry, bland vs a moist smoky chew; salt n sauce helped 3/5. Baked potato came unwrapped, fresh and cooked through as you'd expect, sour cream butter on side, but what no chives/onion? Overall enjoyed everything enough with Lotsa meat, and even sharing we still had 2 ribs and half piece brisket leftover.  Hubby ordered chocolate cake and it came warm chopped up in slices, somewhat small esp for a piece of cake, with 3 scoops ice cream... pretty sure this was the brownie sundae haha but this our 3rd waitress told us she was new and didn't know much, said yes it was the choc cake and is served with ice cream. But warm? So the Mystery dessert was delish 5/5, but more of the so called cake/or brownie could be increased by double for better ratio cake: scoops. A clean plate regardless haha. The coffee though is thin in flavor and a bit sour but provided the warmth and dark sip needed to accompany dessert but kinda steep $4 for restaurant brewed.  Waitress didn't know the brand either and forgot to find out for us..we're Portlanders so you know coffee rules there, we need to know, so we can avoid it at another place lol. Tip: make a break to sneak in a *Bucks from nearby Bashas, same car lot to really make dessert enjoyable ;) Have to return to see the Steeler homies, the food 3/5 is good enough, servers are all attentive and fly by you frequently, Steeler Bar makes it a 5, so putting a 4* here for ambience and aok pub grub. I understand when restaurants are dealing with staffing issues. I understand when wait staff gets overwhelmed. I don't know if this was A staffing issue when we went because I did notice A lot of people walking around who looked like they worked there. The bar was busy so perhaps that's where staff attention goes too. Its hard to write A review like this because we were A 15 top. When we walked in I would guess that there were 6 other tables who had either already eaten or were also waiting. Long story longer... it was one hour from the time we sat until our food order was taken. Somewhere in that time frame our drinks were served and an additional 45 minutes before we had our food in front of us. You know that moment when everyone is talking and then the table gets quiet once the food is serve? Well that happened around that one hour mark. By the time we had our food the restaurant was empty and the bar was emptying out. Food was great and A lot of it. We had A BBQ combo. The meat was delish and the side plates didn't disappoint. Had the pleasure of eating a steak here for the first time. I usually just have drinks at the bar and some appetizers. The food was cooked perfectly and the portions were well worth the money. The others in my group were also impressed with the quality of food and the size of the portions. The menu is rather large and there is something for everyone on it. Bbq is the main attraction here and it delivers it perfectly. The bar (which is one of my favorites) is well stocked with different price points of alcohol and the beer on tap is nice and cold. The beer selection is pretty nice. I didn't get any photos this time , but imagine the perfect photo of a steak dinner, and that was what it is. I decided to try Barnfire on a lazy Sunday afternoon, and was pleasantly surprised at how down home good it was. They offer a large menu selection of southwest comfort foods, burgers and steaks. I decided to try the brisket queso and it was very good (sude note: it's way too big for one person) For my main course I tried the country fried steak sandwich which also was very good. There were some aspects of this place I really liked and other things that just didn't work well for me. I wasn't sure what to expect but had high hopes as I was in the mood for some BBQ. We ordered fried mushrooms for an appetizer, then I ordered the combo plater of BBQ Ribs and beef brisket with sides of coleslaw and Caesar salad. My boyfriend ordered the pulled pork sandwich with side of Texas fries. The food was mostly a hit except for the "Caesar Salad" which was a huge disappointment. Also the beef brisket was not what I would consider brisket at all. It resembled pulled pork but served sliced like brisket. My boyfriend didn't like the Texas fries, which are essentially round fried potatoes. The big hit for me were the ribs. They were absolutely delicious and fell right off the bone. And the sauce they were cooked in was excellent. The fried mushrooms and coleslaw were also great. The service, while okay, wasn't exactly good or bad. Our server was soft spoken and seemed like he didn't want to be there. He only checked on us once, when he brought out our food. We didn't see him again until he brought the bill. I definitely had leftovers...enough for 2 meals! So it was well worth it. They had a lot of menu items so we will most likely be back to try something else! read more

How can this place have been open all these years with such bad food. Three of the four dishes we ordered were way below average. Avoid the pork ribs at all costs as these things were a giant slab of fat. You won't even get to the bones. My well done hamburger was sent back, only to be returned at about 80 percent of well doneness. Other problems were the cherry cobbler and long waits for food and service. read more

We had a retirement party here recently and everything was great. We sat at some tables in the bar and ordered apps and drinks. The service was amazing! Every time we ordered something they brought it out in just minutes. We tried the fried zucchini, mozzarella sticks, chips and salsa. The chips were warm and were a favorite of ours. All of the apps were tasty. There were various drinks ordered and I enjoyed the Orange Dreamsicle which was delicious. This is a great place with friendly and attentive staff! read more

I go there at least monthly for the karaoke on Wed. night. Mary, the server, is wonderful! The cleanliness is also good overall, something important to me. The only recommendations I would have is more non-alcoholic options from the bar. It wouldn't matter if it was Gatorade or Perrier Water. Just other things that aren't alcohol. Sometimes I feel like drinking and sometimes I don't. Also, I'm Celiac, so eating here really, really limits my options. It's typically chicken breast, BBQ or salads. If they had a GF Bun, that would be huge. It's super easy for restaurants to add in, just put them in the freezer and charge $2 more per GF Bun order. It covers their costs, trouble, and really opens up the menu. read more

Unfortunately 0 stars isn't an option. I am completely embarrassed after having my rehearsal "dinner" here. It truly could not have had a worse experience. I say "dinner" because I never actually ate. I had made the reservation over 6 months ago, everyone's orders had been placed a week prior to the event, I had made place cards with everyone's meal choices and was told only meat temperatures and salad dressing preference would be asked. After asking multiple times, we finally received salad and bread 2 hours after arriving. When they finally got entrees to the table, I was told they were all cold. Management onsite did not do anything but make excuses. My guests and I were bussing tables and refilling waters. Drinks were faster if you got up and got them at the bar. People waited over 30 minutes for a glass of wine and soft drinks. We were eating our desserts, that thankfully we brought, to hold our guests over. We had frequently dined here and were so excited to partner with them for our dinner but we will never return now. Highly recommend finding elsewhere unless you like to wait 2 hours for cold food after your guests have traveled all day. The service was unacceptable. read more

Really love the sports bar part of this place. The bartenders are awesome! Mary, aliayah and Cheyanne. The vibes are good and I love the fact they have the MLB package and NFL ticket. Drinks are cold and affordable and the food is good. The only complaint I have is Wednesday karaoke night . The fact that they have the games on is a huge draw, but having to listen to 10 year olds continuously and loudly sing was excruciating. Luckily one of the workers would occasionally sing and she sounded good. My opinion and my opinion only, maybe yours is different, but kids should not be in the bar. The other side is a whole bbq restaurant, they should be over there singing. I absolutely will not be going back on Wednesday, but I highly recommend every other day of the week read more

In fact, there have been times when we have been seated and then not attended to for drinks or anything for so long that we walked out. BUT...we keep trying because the steaks are really good and I love their black and blue (blackened with blue cheese melted on top) option. And it's close to us. It was our anniversary last night and the wait was too long at our first choice of restaurant so we used our fall back - Barnfire! We were seated quickly and there was a large party and what looked to be some sort of presentation shutting down. It was about 7:30 so we were coming when things were starting to slow down in the restaurant area. When we came in a young girl was sitting next to the host and he turned back to say something to her. She was eating next to him and it looked like she was annoyed that she would be our waitress. She came to get our drinks, two kids' drinks, two waters, and two Coors Lights. The kids' drinks and the waters came but the beers never came. The waitress came to say she was checking on our beers at the bar but we didn't see her again. 25 minutes went by, we had received our apps (onion rings which were pretty good), and still no beers. She came to say, "they haven't brought the beers yet?" I said no. Then she and a young man came around the corner with the beers. We ask if they were cold or if they had been sitting there and he said, "I have no idea!" While holding our beers. What in the world?! He also spilled some of it on the floor and nobody came to clean it. This whole thing was extremely irritating at this point. We didn't know if she was too young to deliver beers or what. We finally got our food after being the only table occupied besides a few booths serviced by another waitress who looked to be really hustling. We noticed we were our waitress' only table and most of the time she was sitting next to the host, a young man, and they were folding napkins the whole time. She never checked on us but finally grabbed our food. She gave me my husband's food and my husband my food, they sprinkled some blue cheese on top of both steaks (he only ordered his blackened, not blue) and that was it. We were both so mad at the service we couldn't even finish our food or these beers we waited so long for. AND WE WERE HER ONLY TABLE! She was nice and everything but maybe way too young to be a server? I don't know but that really put the nail in the coffin. We probably will never be back. I'll miss my black and blue steaks! Ranch was best part - had to dip pulled pork sandwich in it just to make it palatable. Daughter had salmon and masked potatoes. Salmon was decent.
