The place was also really cute, really good music and the atmosphere and look of it all was sooo nice!! We were staying at The Hyatt Place across the path from Barking Dog and decided to have my brunch there upon checkout on a dreary Saturday morning. We were seated right away. Barking Dog is super cute. There's indoor seating (tables & booths) and covered outdoor seating with several tables. We ordered our food and it came out pretty quickly. I had the Brioche French Toast with an added side of bacon. The French Toast was perfect to me, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The flavor was perfect. The French Toast comes with a little tiny container of berries & grapes on the side. The bacon was in between crisp and flabby, but good. The Salmon Sando was tasty, but there was little salmon actually on it. It comes with a side. The potatoes were good. The service was great. I'll definitely go back again. read more

I picked the Barking Dog to celebrate my Birthday with friends after a fun activity. Making the reservation for 10 online was easy and their system confirmed a few days as in advance. Upon arrival they were ready to seat and accommodate us. The place was bright and decorative but maximized the space with seating options. I was almost disappointed when we were told that they were only serving a late night menu, which meant only sandwiches, apps, and salads. But our server Jake said since it was my Birthday he would ask the chef to make an exception and they did! Thanks God because one of the deciding factors for me picking this place was the fact that they serve braised short-rib and I've been craving it for months! We ordered fries calamari and spinach dip for apps. They were both delicious and generously served. I got the short rib that was so tender and flavorful with the best mashed potatoes I've had in a long time. The asparagus were the skinniest ever, but otherwise were typical. The mean was worth EVERY penny! My frienfs got a variety of things. The veggie burger, chicken wrap, Salmon Sando, Shrimp Salad. The sweet potato fries were a stand out item. Crazy sweet, sweet potatoes!! Delicious fries! Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. I also ordered a Sangria that was too sweet, but all the other drinks were a hit. My friend's were able to work with the restaurant and coordinated a cake drop off earlier in the day and they all surprised me with it after dinner. A pretty casual outdoor patio dining experience. Food was fine. I ordered a Chicken Caesar salad. Service was fine.

My entree was salmon carbonara with parm, roasted mushrooms, truffle, and couscous. The flavor combo was very delicious and left a lasting impression. The salmon was overcooked. My husband ordered the cod sandwich and fries. The brioche bread was soft and toasted, the fish crispy, and the slaw was crispy and rich. The fries were cold. The service was kind and slow, the environment classy with a touch of dog decor. The drink menu had unique ingredients and all cocktails listed were $12. Barking Dog is cute spot in North Hills to grab brunch or dinner. A friend and I stopped in for dinner and had an enjoyable experience. We each ended up doing two rounds of drinks--she ordered the Dog Bubbles and the Eleanor, while I went with a beer and the Tail Wagger. I loved the names of the drinks. For dinner, I had the Crispy Cod Sando with mashed potatoes, and it was good. What stood out to me even more was how reasonable the prices were, especially for a North Hills location. read more

We came here for brunch and were seated immediately, and welcomed with specials and drinks. Maxx was our waiter and if he offers you to make a special iced coffee, let him do his thing. We had a salted caramel iced coffee and it was incredible. We split the Bird and Waffle and the Bull Dog Brunch Bowl. Incredible!! The pepper jelly jam was a nice twist on the waffles. The service was amazing too--we had three different employees check on us throughout our experience. Can't wait to come again and take advantage of patio. read more

Some solid food at this place with plenty of options. I got the buttermilk crispy chicken sando and it came with coleslaw, pickles and bark sauce. It was a solid chicken sandwich nothing too crazy but it hit the spot. Also we got a burger that was very solid as well! We both got a different fries I got regular fries and she got sweet potato fries both were good! Overall a solid vibe great place to chill and maybe bring your dog to sit outside with you. The restaurant is cozy, kind of feels upscale but with a touch of doggy love lol, we went on a Sunday and were sat immediately. The portions are amazing for price and flavor is good, the service is nice but slow, my bf loved his pancakes (I have no clue how he finished them), I got the French toast it was just Ohkay, I wanted to ask our server if I could order the chorizo omelette (I'd been debating between the two options originally) but she didn't come back until my bf was already done and by then I didn't want to make him wait. Another woman had been refilling our waters and coffees though and I thought about asking her but I didn't want to bother her more than I felt we already were. Overall the food and coffees were good, since I don't know the circumstances for the slow service I won't judge it, but next time I'll definitely ask whoever comes to our table for help lol read more

This is great food with amazing service. It has become normal to have one or the other but this place has both. Plus they took great care of our puppy. Their dog bowls go through the wash after every use (that is rare). It's just a touch salty but I am team salt so it was fine. So far this is the best restaurant in North Hills because they accomplished the goal of great food with great service. You need to go here and take you puppy too. Oh and they have puppy meals for them if you want to get them a special treat. read more

First time here and the last. Took a while to get service .Ordered a turkey dog a turkey burger. It came with cheese which I didn't order. The waitress never checked back with me while I was eating. So they charged me $1.50 extra for the cheese which I didn't order. Burger was good but not great. Had to ask for the check and it was a different wait person that got the check. I didn't say anything about the cheese but I have crossed the Barking Dog off my list and won't be back read more

Tonight makes my second visit. Both times they have not been terribly busy. I sat at the bar both times and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was very good and I will certainly go back, but will try the brunch menu next. I got the breakfast special (eggs, biscuit, small ramekin of fruit, homefries, and turkey sausage. Food was luke warm and turkey sausage was way overcooked. Is there a negative "half-star" rating? I ordered the fish & chips and it was absolutely disgusting. What fresh fish & chips comes in a perfectly shaped square/parallelogram sized portion? The "FROZEN" kind before it's fried. I felt bad for the server because she was nice and I would have tipped her more if the fish & chips weren't so nasty. Learning that this restaurant is a NYC expansion set my standards fairly high, and I'm happy to say that Barking Dog delivered. Great music, attentive staff, and a one page menu made for a great environment. The Rottweiler burger and fries I had was incredible. They were out of the lamb burger due to weather delaying deliveries so I asked if they could use the turkey burger--my substitution got a nod from the chef, apparently! They accommodated me with no issue and I very much enjoyed the meal. Fresh toppings and a juicy patty on a soft bun are all key for me and they nailed it. I highly recommend for a date night, catching up with friends, or a quick bite while enjoying North Hills! read more
