I made reservations online prior to dining here. When we arrived we were seated right away and were told how to get our parking validated. Our server was pleasant. I got the gumbo and the ricotta fritters for dessert. The fritters were served warm with a mascarpone cheese and a strawberry sauce. I enjoyed the fritters. The gumbo was ok. It tasted like there was a little too much seasoning that may not have been dissolved in the dish. This caused there to be a slight after taste when eating the gumbo. The gumbo didn't come with any type of bread or anything so we got an order of toasted bread to eat with the gumbo. The bread was good.

One of the best brunch spots I've found in the Triangle area for food. The avocado toast is an absolute delight, trust me , you have to try! The flavors are unlike any other I've had before. Service was good overall, it did take a little while for food to come out but not a huge biggie. Also, the prices are very reasonable compared to other local options. I'll be back to try dinner soon.

Service: I was welcomed immediately and the staff here were pleasant and helpful. I appreciated being treated kindly. Food: I enjoyed the veggie quiche. The cheese grits were also enjoyed. The quiche had a delicious rich and savory flavor and I enjoyed the flaky crust. Cocktail: I expected to sip on health, wealth and happiness when I ordered my espresso martini but the three beans were missing. The flavor was great but the presentation matters. Ambiance: I enjoyed brunch on the patio on a cool fall evening. There were heaters on the patio so I never got cold. The seating is comfortable and the atmosphere was very cozy. I do recommend Hummingbird and I love that there are reservation options.

Great place with awesome food and drinks. I got the shrimp po boy and an expresso martini. The shrimp po boy was well seasoned with the fried shrimp. The sub roll was nice and fluffy with a great tomato and lettuce to add some freshness. The espresso martini was great well balanced with vodka and espresso. Service was very nice and friendly. The inside was very we sat in outside patio.

I went here on a Friday night with friends, and we were seated outside. I didn't look at the inside, but it doesn't look like it has much seating in there. It was a little windy, which was a bit annoying. The service was pretty good, and our waitress often came by to refill waters. I got the New Orleans BBQ shrimp and split the fries with a friend. The shrimp were very good! I loved the spices and the kick that they had. The bread was also good. The fries are actually smashed fingerlings, but they were nice and crispy on the outside. The remoulade was also good to dip them in. I think it's a little weird you only get chips with their sandwiches and can't upgrade to regular French fries. The prices were also a little bit more than what I would expect, but I did enjoy everything overall.

Hummingbird shares a warehouse space with other businesses and has a large parking lot. Hummingbird has a QR code to scan at the host station for parking to be validated for three hours. The inside seating is very small with a room with 3-4 tables. They also have bar seating with about 6 bar stools, but most of it is on the patio. We were seated on the patio and things started well. It was a warm day so perfect for patio seating. Our waitress was friendly and took the drink orders and eventually the food orders but then pretty much disappeared. Someone else brought out the food and at the end, took care of the checks. The waitress did come peek from a distance on the table a few times but never checked on us to see if we needed anything or to refill my iced tea that was empty. So I had to ask for a refill. This is a pet peeve of mine . Then later on another employee came and took that empty glass from the table that seemed very strange trying to rush us out. She did not ask if I wanted more or if I was done. The service was odd here. I went with the steak and eggs. It was ok but nothing I'd order again. The steak was tougher than I like. I liked the potatoes and bread the most. I don't see a return visit here.

Went for a weekday dinner and split a few dishes and each had a couple cocktails. I have been eyeing this restaurant for the cocktails and they definitely hit the spot! The ricotta fritters were also very delicious as well as the small plates we had! The indoor seating is super small but the patio is so nice, it's partially covered with fans. The hostess has a QR code for free parking, be sure to register your car!

Great brunch. Plenty of parking in the lot, scan the QR code at the hostess stand and get 3 free hours. I recommend making reservations as it definitely gets busy. The majority of their seating is on their covered patio. I ordered the chicken and waffle and my partner ordered the french toast and we split. Both dishes were delicious and I'd definitely return.

After a recommendation from our credit card company, Hummingbird was on the calendar for dinner. We arrived at a little before our 6:30pm reservation and were pretty much seated right away. One thing to note about this restaurant is that it's very small. The interior only has a few tables and the rest are outside. It was super chilly on the night we visited but the heaters helped. By the time we left, they were offering fur seat covers to everyone. In addition to the small size, the menu was also small and very niche. This made it very hard for us to decide. Some love this and some do not. For an appetizer, we chose the deviled eggs and they were divine. When it came time for the entrees, I chose the 1/2 sumac smoked chicken. My boyfriend chose the market fish, which this day was a whole fried fish. We enjoyed our meals well, but they were both very messy and hard to eat. The fish didn't have much meat on it and the flavor was good, but nothing crazy on each. The service here was pretty well given how busy the restaurant was. We liked that the location was near other restaurants and bars and actually inside an old loading dock. Hummingbird is a very unique restaurant and experience. If that's what you're going for, I recommend. If you are a picky eater and like a classic experience, it might not be for you. We would both like to come back if ever in the area again.

Max with Offline - Every time I visit Hummingbird, it's a whole vibe! From the moment you walk up, you're greeted with warm smiles and attentive service from a team that truly works together like a well-oiled machine. The hospitality here is always top-notch--professional, friendly, and incredibly efficient. On my most recent visit, the food did not disappoint. I had the soft-shell crab sandwich, and wow--flavor explosion! Crispy, perfectly seasoned, and paired with their house-made chips that were crunchy and addictive. A friend ordered the ribeye, which was beautifully cooked and full of smoky, char-grilled flavor. The char-grilled oysters? Absolute standouts. Juicy, flavorful, and worth every bite. If I had to note one downside, it's the indoor space--it's very limited. So most seating ends up being outdoors, and with Raleigh's summer heat, it can get overwhelmingly hot. Unfortunately, they don't have fans circulating air on the patio, so I recommend bringing a handheld fan or dressing light. That said, the overall experience makes it worth it every single time. Delicious food, consistently excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps me coming back. Hummingbird is definitely one of Raleigh's hidden gems--and I'll be returning again (and again, and again).

My avocado toast was nice and light. They do charge three dollars for an egg, which is understandable given the bird flu situation but still not great. Service was friendly, although they did remove a table from our group. Parking was a pain. Ambiance of the restaurant was decently comfortable and lowkey. We got free donuts as a complimentary dessert for my friends' birthdays.

Stumbled into the Hummingbird after Brody soccer game just down the road before driving back to CLT. They have a private parking lot and validate parking for 3 hours when dining. We were seated promptly at the bar. Brody ordered a matcha tea which he enjoyed. The bar area was like a throwback bar with pastel colors and aged concrete exterior walls. For our entrees, I ordered the Tasso hash with cheese grits and Brody ordered a breakfast burrito. We sat and enjoyed the bar tender make drinks while we waiting for our meal. The cheese grits arrived well before the meal so I asked the bar tender to replace the first bowl of grits so they would be hot and served with our meal which she obliged. The food came and Brody found his breakfast burrito very aesthetically appealing with the sunny side up egg on top, but he figured out using a fork and knife was his bet. My Tasso hash was served very hot with sweet and white potatoes and large pieces of Tasso ham. The single sunny side up egg was not adequate considering the cost of the meal. Normal portion size would be 2 eggs for a $20 breakfast. Is this the business coping with the orange turd in the WH by practicing shrinkflation or have they always served only one egg with a $20 breakfast? I surmise this is a Fair question to ask. The cheese grits were a nice compliment to the rest of the meal. The white-greenish sauce in the hash had a good flavor with a bit of heat.

The Food The menu leans comfort food with a modern edge, and it's done really well across the board. We started with a Caesar salad with dill pickle dressing, which sounds like it shouldn't work but absolutely does. Bright, fresh, and just different enough to be interesting without trying too hard. The beet salad was also excellent, clean flavors and well balanced. Then came the pimento cheese with fried crackers. This might have been the sleeper hit. The crackers are dangerously good. Simple idea, executed perfectly, and hard to stop eating. For mains, the fried chicken was solid but didn't stand out the same way the starters did. We opted for a reservation at the bar, and we enjoyed excellent service from Brittany and Kylie. Our starter of roasted beets had an incredible blend of buttermilk blue cheese with white balsamic thyme, pickled pumpkin, and Marcona almonds. So yummy. Then my husband and I shared the Ricotta Gnocchi that we agree is the BEST gnocchi we have ever had the privilege of eating. So light in spite of a duck bolognese being the sauce. Fried rosemary sparked my home chef mind for future meals! We also shared the Brussels sprout upon Brittany's recommendation. One of the most unique preparations on Brussels sprouts ever with oyster mushrooms and a sherry cream sauce. We typically pass on dessert, but the description of their Pear Tart Tatin coupled with Kylie's verbal description hooked us and we were thrilled to enjoy every bite of the hazelnut praline ice cream that is part of this beautiful dessert.

We were given a two top and started with chips and guacamole. I was impressed with the chips, they were a little extra thick, had tiny bubbles in them. Certainly a far departure from the typical thin, overly salty chip found at most restaurants and grocery stores. Excellent guac with a little pico and lime wedge on the side. I ordered the Baja bowl with shredded adobo chicken. The bowl had green rice, black beans, a whole lot of kale, tomatillo sauce, pickled red onions, crema, and cilantro. It needed a little more, so I added in some of the guac, a few chips I crumbled in my hands for some crunch, and some fresh lime juice. Noah did a good job keeping our water glasses full and he was quite friendly. However, the restroom situation is a bit difficult. There are two small unisex bathrooms, both of which have to be locked. There can't be more than one person in there at the same time, so plan accordingly. Inside, it's a playful clash of textures and tones--lush greenery tumbling from shelves, vibrant colors dancing against natural wood, and polished metals winking from every corner. It's the kind of place where a cocktail feels brighter, conversations linger longer, and even the sunlight seems to stay for just one more round. From the moment you step in, the welcome feels less like service and more like being let in on a good secret. The staff greet you with easy smiles and a kind of genuine curiosity--like they're actually glad you chose this spot, today. There's no script, no stiffness--just a natural warmth that settles in as quickly as the sunlight. Behind the bar, the bartenders move with quiet confidence and a touch of showmanship.
