El Corazon

Don't overlook this restaurant and don't assume it's just another "hotel restaurant." Good Day Good Night is in another league with their use of fresh ingredients, innovative recipes, comfort foods, and house made syrups, sauces, and juices. Their new chef, Andres Cortes, seems very talented and creative. I am looking forward to trying more of his creations. Most recently I tried the Peruvian chicken and crispy fried ribs for takeout. I meant to order the pan roasted half chicken but for some reason I mixed up when I ordered but boy am I glad I did. The Peruvian chicken was phenomenal. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Nothing was bland or overwhelming just balanced and satisfying. The chicken was accompanied by similarly perfectly cooked peppers, potatoes, and green tomatoes. I wasn't sure about the green tomatoes, but they do complement the dish well and add another texture. Not many dishes are worth a trip to downtown Raleigh and dealing with traffic and parking...the Peruvian chicken dish definitely is. I placed the order with a waiter while enjoying an El Corazon (tequila, blood orange, passion fruit, pomegranate, lime juice, and orange liquore) then Pink Cocktail (strawberry anise syrup, vodka, lime juice, and sparkling wine). They really nailed the flavors on these cocktails. I'm hesitant to try vodka based cocktails and typically go for tequila. I was intrigued by the anise syrup so I gave the pink cocktail a try and loved it. Their mixologist definitely knows how to balance flavors. The cocktails are surprisingly strong so one is enough, I just couldn't help trying another after how good the El Corazon was. With the excellent service, accurate orders, and ingenious menu I highly recommend Good Day Good Night to others and look forward to returning!

Good Day Good Night is tucked inside The Casso Hotel in downtown Raleigh. The service was excellent as well as the ambiance. This was part of a Yelp Elite event! I liked the food and thought the dishes served were flavorful :) As someone who prefers non-fried food, I wish the dishes could have had more variety (including some salads or tapas) that the full menu offers. However, my gin and tonic mocktail paired well with what was served and finished the night out well. I would come back with friends looking for a modern place for a drink!

I had so much fun meeting people at yelp's A Night Out With Good Day Good Night . Good Day Glad Night is a super chill restaurant located inside of the Casso Hotel in Downtown Raleigh. They offer brunch lunch and dinner options along with delicious cocktails. We enjoyed samples of items such as: - ceviche style salmon bites with microgreens (my favorite) -fried risotto and pork belly balls - -The Casso Burger with sweet yet zesty bacon jam - and for dessert and incredibly creamy Colombian coffee shot with heavy cream, lime, and raspberries. I'm no still dreaming about this. an absolutely solid espresso martini. 10 out of 10. if you're a fan of smoky flavors of a Mezcal like me, the Verdad is the perfect after 5 PM cocktail for you.

I've heard nothing but good reviews about this restaurant! We were super excited to try them. It's beautiful inside. Very elegant decor. The menu is very simple and there aren't a lot of choices. They don't even sell pancakes. I had the French toast and it was slightly weird. I've never had French toast like that before. Service was cool especially since it was dreamville weekend. Overall our experience was cool. I am not sure if I'll return.

I was really disappointed coming back here tonight and seeing how different the experience was. I always praise this restaurant because it was a fun experience but it seems like the food selection and service is getting worse. They change their menu around occasionally, and right now their menu is very weak. A burger, a mediocre grilled chicken sandwich, a piece of salmon over some peas, and dry penne with marinara were most of the options tonight. We all got something different and there was not one dish that was great to anybody. The marinara pasta was the worst dish by far. It seems like there was no quality or flavor in anything. On top of that, we waited 45 minutes just to get margaritas. Neither the restaurant or bar was packed, and even if it was, 45 minutes for 3 drinks would still be ridiculous. We told the manager of the restaurant how long we were waiting, and he went off to "check on it" without returning to give us an update, our drinks, or an apology. It felt like everybody was very dismissive so the poor food and service tonight made nobody want to come again.

I didn't have a full dinner here, but I had drinks and dessert at the bar and restaurant several times throughout my stay at the hotel. GLOWS: - The beignets with ice cream!!! So good! -Bar and restaurant service was really good - various seating options (indoor, lounge, and outdoor) GROWS: - Coffee drinks were just okay. - small amounts of muffins and bagels in the morning, could increase options for breakfast - Chocolate torte could be a bit bigger

I was visiting Raleigh and got in pretty late. The food at Good Day Good Night is ok, but it stays open pretty late! My meal (pictured) was pretty good, but my boyfriend's meal was not good.

GDGN is located below The Origin Hotel at the end of Glenwood where it meets with W Morgan Street. A good day starts with breakfast and lunch. You can start it with coffee and teas or pastries or visit for a healthy, plant-forward lunch. A good night ends with adult beverages and a tasty dinner. The cocktail list looked intriguing but I wanted a beer so I chose an IPA. We started off with the vegetable fritters and whole roasted garlic spread for appetizers. For our main courses I ordered the carne asada tacos and my husband went with the super salad with salmon. The food and the service were both great. The decor is also very trendy.

Had a voucher from Offline Raleigh so decided to try this place out on a Wednesday night. The menu seemed interesting but nothing jumped out at me. I definitely underestimated the food and was glad we decided to go. There is parking attached to the hotel. Cost us about $4. The atmosphere is really nice and they were not too busy. We tried the Vegetable Lumpia from the Dirt List (specials) and I had the Veggie burger. It was definitely one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. It was more along the lines of an impossible burger vs black bean, etc. with a devious bun, sauce and fried onions. The fries looked amazing and would have been good if I was a fan of truffle.

This place was absolutely amazing. All I can say is, we made a lot of happy noises while eating,…read moreand there were plenty of "oh my God" moments at the table. From the staff to the manager to the food, everything was on point. The food truly speaks for itself. They serve small plates, which we love because it gives you the chance to try different things and experience a variety of flavors. We started with the fried pork belly on tostones. It was perfectly seasoned, topped with avocado, and every bite just melted in your mouth. Next, we had the tamarind sticky ribs with a tamarind mango barbecue sauce. This was a perfect example of how simplicity can create complex flavors. The ribs were cooked just right -- not completely falling off the bone, but tender enough that when you bit into them, the meat pulled apart so easily. They were juicy, full of flavor, and had just the right touch of spice from the chili flakes. Then we moved on to the mini arepas, and oh my God. They had slow-cooked pork, guava barbecue sauce, and fried papas on top. The arepa itself was crispy on the outside, warm and fluffy on the inside. The savory pork paired with the sweetness of the guava barbecue sauce was incredible, and the crunch from the fried papas took it to another level. Now, I have a bit of a sweet tooth, but my wife does not. I wanted dessert, and we were leaning toward the tres leches, but our waitress highly recommended the bread pudding. I am not usually a fan of bread pudding at all, but her recommendations had been on point all night, so I decided to trust her. I am so glad we did. They take a Mexican bolillo, soak it overnight in tres leches, then pan-sear it to create this crispy caramelized outside while keeping the inside warm, soft, and sweet. It is topped with crema and toasted coconut, then they pour warm guava syrup over it and serve it with a scoop of coconut sorbet. The layers of flavor in that dessert were unreal. Honestly, it may have been the best dessert we have ever had. And remember, my wife is not big on sweets -- she usually only takes one bite of dessert, but this time she tried to eat over half of it. Lol. I highly recommend this place. The food, the service, the drinks, and the atmosphere were all amazing. And after dinner, you can even head upstairs to work off the food with salsa lessons and a dance club. This is definitely a spot worth checking out! Me alegra muchísimo haberlo hecho. Jajaja.

We all shared an order of fries for the table, which were amazing. Then I got the grain bowl with shrimp, and everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. Seriously, if you can't find a pour you like here, you may just need water instead. Started with the biscuits topped with crackling and house-made preserves, and honestly, that combo alone made me question why I don't eat more biscuits in life. Sweet, salty, buttery chaos in the best way. For the main, I went with the pork chop and greens. The chop leaned a little overcooked for me personally, but the sauce helped bring things back together and added good flavor. The greens had a nice little kick of heat, but I kept waiting for that deep smoky ham hock flavor to show up like an old Southern grandma entering the kitchen... and it never quite arrived. Overall though? Still a solid meal, strong whiskey program, cool atmosphere, and definitely worth checking out if you're in Raleigh looking for a bourbon-forward dinner spot. Travelin_Broke approved with a slight side-eye from the greens.

Her recommendations for pairing the drinks with the food were flawless, and each drink was prepared like a work of art. I started with the raw oysters, paired with a glass of Rose, which I loved. They switched from the Halibut with Fennel to Mahi with Forbidden Rice. The rice is black and inky and potent and extraordinary, but it overwhelmed the fish completely. Still greatful I got to experience it, but I would pair it with something more gamy like lamb or goat. The Pecan pie with warm salted caramel ice cream was nothing short of a spiritual experience, and Hayley's recommendation to pair it with Rum Flip was perfect. Yes, I Ubered. Overall, this one is going to be a frequent hangout.
