We had a very old pool that needed a lot of work and Barefoot Pools did an excellent job on it. They removed the old surface, patched the concrete where rebar was starting to rust through, put on a new surface, installed a new pool deck, and put in a new pump and filter. Overall they did a good job, communicated well, and left the construction area clean. My only complaint is that the Kreepy Krauly Kruiser pool cleaner they provide is not ideal. It sends leaves directly to the small basket filter on the pump, which clogs quickly. To fix this I installed a canister leaf trap, which works except that it also traps air bubbles over time and causes the pump to lose suction. read more

My new Pentair heater, pH system, pumps, chlorinator and Automation system works flawlessly. Donny did a great and meticulous job on the install. I am very picky and would recommend. read more

Professional from first contact to finish. I asked for quotes from a few pool companies to replace my aging equipment - pump, filter, heater, blower, cracked slabs and add automation. The other quotes I got were a bit lower, not by much, but they were severely lacking. When I am spending a significant amount of money, I want to know what I am buying. The quote I received in record time from Barefoot Pools, had the model numbers of everything I was getting along with hauling away the old equipment and spec'd everything, right down to the valves and plumbing. Other quotes I got simply said, replace pump, filter, heater. While saving a little money is nice, you get what you pay for. Barefoot Pools is a real company, it is not just someone that knows about pools and has a side hustle installing equipment. I am very happy with the new equipment and the variable speed pump and spa blower are SO much quieter than the old ones. I would most certainly do business with Barefoot Pools again. read more

We just had our 40+ yr old pool remodeled by Barefoot. We had our water line & cap tile replaced along with new cool decking. We had several companies out - most never sent or responded to our request for bid - we couldn't give away our money. Our buddy Shawn referred us over & we are happy with everything. Chad - our sales guy was great - through & quick with quotes. Once we pulled the trigger - the process was easy - they arrived on time! Ha - and finished in the time frame they gave us. In fact - they finished a week ahead of schedule! Shawn - project manager - was in and out often to keep on top of everything - Trey did a great job draining the pool - Jeff acid washed the pool nicely - Chris & second Jeff balanced the chemicals (we have a crazy large pool - so no easy feat) - lastly - Manny & his tile/cool deck crew were outstanding - truly did the most amazing job. Manny was so professional & great at tile work. Clean and looks fantastic. We highly recommend this company. read more

These people are really good at their profession and they do it with a good sense of humor and are very personable. They gave us a good explanation of what was going on and by the looks of it, the pool is in MUCH better condition than how we got it. Also, LGBT friendly, and with good humor, they know their clients... Trey had both me and my partner red-faced at sever points with some well placed double entendres. read more

We've been using Barefoot to slowly bring our pool into this century. This year we decided to do our remodel and we couldn't be happier. We worked with Chad a lot. We were very indecisive and had no idea what any of the "pool terms" meant. Chad patiently educated us and told us what would be best for current and future needs. Once we were ready to pull the trigger, we started to meet the rest of the Barefoot family. We met Jose, the owner of Barefoot on the day we chalked the lines for our new design. He is a very exciting guy and made some suggestions for our design that we don't regret. He added that "wow factor" to our pool. Shawn, our project manager was awesome. We texted and emailed him questions throughout the process and he answered and addressed them all. We still feel terrible about all the questions, but he handled every situation with a breeze and educated us a lot. Jeff and Luis would come by the house and clean up and make small repairs and ask if there was ANYTHING I wanted or needed from them. We're extremely happy with our remodel and had no idea it would look this amazing! We refer all our friends to Barefoot for their pool needs and they get the same awesome experience. read more

I recently used this company to do a pool and spa inspection on a house I'm in the process of purchasing. They did a fantastic job with the inspection and were extremely thorough. They provided great pics and didn't overcharge. I would definitely recommend this company. read more

Barefoot did incredible work for me this past few weeks. Our house is under contract, and I had some complex issues with the pool that needed dealing with and it had to be done promptly and perfectly. Despite living near Barefoot for 20 years, I'd never used them before, but they treated me like I was a long-time customer. Brandon coordinated the work, and his techs, Jose and Julio, were fantastic. My neighbor has used them for years and can't say enough good things about them. Excellent communications, prompt scheduling, photos of all the work they do sent to you in email, and highly professional. A vast improvement over dealings I've had with other local pool companies and other supposed "professionals". Wish I'd worked with them for the past 20 years! read more

Before, our pebble-surface pool was REALLY green from months of letting our broken pool run. It only took a chlorine wash and an acid wash, and let me tell you it was A LOT of acid! But, I really can't put into words how amazing our pool now looks, how helpful they were, and how easy it was to keep in touch. Not only was Brandon extremely helpful about what to do with the pool, the rest of his staff was amazing and even came out to fix a leveler issue & help with our chemicals. That is amazing service! Although I am sad they are in the transition of moving only to Ahwatukee, I will always recommend this pool service & this one only! I can't believe how amazing it looks!!! read more

Luis did great work, a really nice job! Had tile line cleaned, filter repaired, and a new light installed. He was here when they said he would be and everything was done quickly and expertly, and at a very reasonable price! Would definitely use Barefoot Pools and Luis again! read more

My experience with Barefoot Pools was the best experience I've ever had with any type of contractor. They are professional, customer service oriented and knowledgeable. Never was anyone late or a no show, Including all the crews. And there were quite a few, all doing different aspects of the project. We had our pool resurfaced and retiled, an unsightly rock waterfall removed, cool deck repaired where the waterfall had been and new pavers to match our existing. My first appointment was with Chad for an estimate. He gave me a folder with information on everything from pumps to tile. Very professional. He is so nice and easy to talk to. He answered all my questions from the first conversation to the last when we signed the contract. During that time, I also spoke to office staff and they were always courteous and helpful. One thing Barefoot Pools has over other pool companies is a showroom. Other companies had shown me little samples of pool finishes from the back of a pick-up. Doug was knowledgeable and helped us make choices on the color and finish of the pool. There was a wall full of tile to choose from too! Project coordinator, Shawn, was terrific to work with. Our job ran seamlessly. He was so patient and answered still more of my many questions as the project progressed. He took my calls right away when possible and answered texts quickly. He is a wealth of information! He helped me make some design choices and the result is spot on. The demo crew: These "beasts" worked 8-12 hours a day in the middle of August to get the job done. It was brutal! Tile and surface crews: Pure craftsmen! Fascinating to watch and the results are beautiful. Throughout the project, Jeff stopped by to do all sorts of things. A Jack-of-all-trades, I think. He too, answered question I had and knew where my project was up to and what was happening next. He is so personable and a pleasure to talk to. Barefoot Pools owner, Jose, made several visits to check out the project. He asked if everything was going well and if I had any questions. Of course, I did! Which, of course he answered. Are you sensing a pattern here? I ask a lot of question. He is extremely nice and very charming. I will definitely recommend them to anyone needing pool remodeling. Thank you for a wonderful experience and a beautiful pool. read more

We have had Barefoot Pools, owned by Jose Garcia, cleaning our pools for many years. We recently contracted with them to do a complete remodel, including travertine tile installation. We could not be happier. Yes, they did a great job, but many companies could do a good job and build a wonderful space. But their customer service is beyond compare. Each day after the next step was complete, Jose or Shawn would stop by to inspect, and nothing moved forward until every bit met their approval. Any time there was an unusual issue during the day, the workmen would take photos and send them to Shawn or Jose to get input on how to proceed. I want to acknowledge Jeff P, who was on site a lot, and always made it clear his goal was to make us happy with a job done right. And a 100% goes to Trey, who knocks on the door when he arrives, listens carefully, is a great troubleshooter, and best of all acts on needs immediately, all with a very cheerful attitude. We are happy to have Matt back as our regular pool guy, and it's really wonderful enjoying the new beautiful oasis in our yard. Thank you Jose and all the crew at Barefoot Pools! read more

We recently had our pool remodeled with Barefoot Pools and would highly recommend them as they are a fantastic company. Our finished pool remodel is beautiful and it looks like a brand new pool! When Chad came out to give us an estimate for the remodel, he explained about the micro mini pebble finish and showed us samples. After we decided upon a particular finish, he personally took us to see 3 pools they built with that exact finish. Chad was extremely helpful, informative and patient with all of our questions. Jose, the owner, oversaw the project personally and came out several times to ensure that the work progressed smoothly and on schedule. He was very professional, personable and caring and made sure we received quality workmanship with the best possible service and experience. We can't say enough about the integrity and customer service of Jose and his team and are so happy we selected Barefoot Pools for our remodel. Mal F. Scottsdale read more

I had called two other pool companies for bids on our pool remodel project. When the bids came back, they were out of sight ! I happened to see Barefoot Pools advertisement in a local magazine and gave them a call. We are so thankful we did. Barefoot Pools did a wonderful remodel of my pool and patio area. They exceeded our expectations 10 times over. All of our contacts, from Shawn, the project manager, to every single installer, were beyond professional. The company owner, Jose Garcia, has a wonderful company to be proud of. Hands down, I would highly recommend Barefoot Pools to anyone wanting a beautifully finished project at a completive price. read more

A BIG thank you to Devon for helping me out in between service!!! Chad, Cullen, Sherri and everyone else at the company have lived up to the reputation that led me to retain Barefoot Pools in the first place. Shame shame. I've been with barefoot pools for well over a year and I've never had a problem until a few months ago. I had noticed a new pool cleaner was coming out every few weeks and had thought nothing of it because the pool still looked great, but then one day it didn't. In fact, it looked like someone showed up for 5 minutes and cleaned a few leaves out of the pool and left. There was still dirt at the bottom and on the stairs and overall it looked really bad. This continued for a total of about a month and I confronted the pool cleaner about it, to which he replied that a lot of wind was blowing things into my pool. I pointed to the trees to show him there was no wind and no way (in this particular instance) that this happened. Ultimately, I requested someone else to come service my property and they kept sending the same person. Oh, but I was told he was now being supervised which is why the pool looks better. If you have to supervise an employee to make sure they do their job then they shouldn't be working with your customers or with your company. PERIOD. I finally decided to leave barefoot pools today, after speaking with the manager, Brandon. I simply asked for the month to be comped and to ensure the job was done correctly moving forward and he said he would only comp 2-weeks of service. Personally, I think if someone has been a long time customer and they are upset that you do what it takes to make them happy, especially when it simply involves righting a very wrong month of service. Sadly, I was told my request couldn't be met and "Barefoot pools just isn't a good fit for me". Can't remember the last time a company showed such little regard for their customer relationships, or how they speak to customers. I'll sure miss the good times. read more

What else can I say but GREAT service! We've been using barefoot at a rental property for about a year and a half and they NEVER let us down. I called this company to have some work done. I left a voice message and also filled out their on-line request for service but never received a call back. They may do great work but the customer service/responsiveness needs improvement. Follow up to review - After posting the above review, Chad called me and said I am out of Barefoot's service area. Chad, Doug, and Jose were all excellent. This has probably been the best contractor experience I've ever had. Chad came out to give us a quote on our deck, tile, and pool remodel. Moving to a new area always has challenges - especially when trying to find a pool service. We cancelled the 1st pool service because there really was no servicing & when I'd call to complain it was met with an argument. Then I used yelp & found Barefoot...thankfully. We've had extensive cleaning, including hard water stain removal from the tiles & weekly servicing - all at a fairly reasonable price. Any questions are always answered with no issue - completely professional. Most weeks, Mitchell services our pool & does a fantastic job...he even warned us about spiders & where they could hide. Excellent. read more

Don't use these guys on a remodel. There is a reason they still clean pools. They just bailed on us during the final stages of a remodel quote. Not even an explanation. Called Chad to stop by for the final design visit (3rd) before we signed the contract. All seemed to be going good until I called him on a Monday and asked him to stop by that week. Told me he was too busy that week and would call me back. I have not heard from Barefoot Pools since. I went with another Chandler based pool remodel company thereafter and we are very happy with them. If you can't handle the scope of the job just say so guys. Follow up to my above 5/1/16 review. Chad of Barefoot Pools called me this morning regarding my Yelp review yesterday. In all honesty it might have been a misunderstanding. I don't want to cause alarm to other potential customers if it was truly a misunderstanding. That being said I would like to retract my one star review. Sales 101 - don't let a hot lead go cold and don't over-react. That's what happened here. read more

I'm not sure what's happening at Barefoot beyond high technician turnover, but service has rapidly declined. They are like a different organization altogether. It's incredibly frustrating and disappointing. My pool is a challenge right now as it needs a vacuum line repair (scheduled and deposit given and I am very worried about trusting BFP with this now), but lack of communication from one new tech to the next is unbelievable. My pool hasn't looked like I have professional service for a few months. I have had to call repeatedly. Yesterday they had to send a second tech (Trey) out because the two techs that came to service it as scheduled did, frankly a horrible job. Trey was great and has been the only person whose apologized on behalf of the company. He agreed the pool should NOT have been left in that condition. Just 6 months ago I wrote a raving review about BFP specifically my technician who is no longer my guy. I've been a loyal customer to them for years and sadly I think I'm going to have to shop for a new company to service my pool. The idea that this is the service level, with excuse after excuse and a price increase of $25 per month is almost unbelievable. I am really disappointed about this but it's close to the point of no return. read more

Beware: our experience with them has been spotty. It takes several days to a week for them to respond to service requests. The route coordinator we have dealt with is often rude on the phone and acts like they are just "too busy" to work with us and that other customers are a priority. They recently installed a pool light that stopped working within a few days, but they have ignored our requests to return and look at it (it has been over a week since we first contacted them about the pool light they installed suddenly malfunctioned). Additionally, they over-quoted us for monthly pool service and had the audacity to blame our trees. My advice: find a company who treats all of their customers fairly and responds in a timely manner! read more
