Then Grant came for an inspection and immediately identified the root of the problem: powdery mildew which must be caused by storage of my clothing during the renovation. The storage room was most probably damp and thus fungi developed on my clothes. Grant was very helpful, checked the humidity of my whole apartment, told me how to salvage my "dusty" clothes, and gave me useful tips to keep mildew from resurfacing again. He did all these without charging me a cent, saying that he has done nothing for me. Mr. Fourie was contacted to simply confirm if there was mold in the house and diagnose the potential cause. He quoted approximately $200. Instead, he camped out at our home worrying our tenant about safety issues and slapped us with an outrageous $3000 bill!!! He also called us multiple times late at night and made many unsubstantiated claims to justify why this was taking so long. This man is mentally unstable! We called another company and for less than $1000 they not only disproved his findings but they contained the mold and deemed the property safe. He is now trying to force us to pay his bill by threatening to put a lien on the property. Providing a flawed report to our tenant without our permission has now caused further issues. We hope no one else has the misfortune of dealing with this company or Mr. Fourie!
