During solar panel installation, the technician advised the plywood was very wet along one side of the roof. The roof was only 12 yrs old. They took and provided photos. The solar panel installation was halted. I contacted several roofing companies to get assessments on the issue and obtain estimates. It turns out one side of the roof did not have adequate venting and moisture was being absorbed by the plywood. I met with several roofing company representatives and each provided their suggested way to address the issue...and the estimated costs were all over the map. But when I met with the Absolute Roof Solutions sales representative...I knew I had found the right company. They explained what the issue was, how they would address it and the next steps. They followed with a quote and then a follow up conversation with the Project Manager. They picked a date that was to be rain free. The crew showed up on time and they went about their work. Taking 1/2 a roof is not an easy task but they managed to get it done in the one day...and to get the site all cleaned after, including ensuring all debris was removed from both neighbours yards. UPDATE: 1. After calling their office twice and requesting a formal apology for their trespassing, I have NOT heard back from this business. 2. My other same review, posted on Google Maps, disappeared "mysteriously" within days after going public. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This was an absolutely terrible experience for me. My neighbor is replacing their roof using this company's service, but their workers/contractors repeatedly stepped on my front lawn and used it freely as a walking path this morning (ie. day of writing the initial review, June 19), without permission. I politely talked to them THREE TIMES to ask them to please respect my property and not walk on my lawn/property. The first two times when I talked to them, the workers I talked to didn't even seem to take me seriously. Seriously? Imagine waking up to lots of noise and security camera app notifications saying there are strangers walking on your home front lawn, and that was what I encountered. Oh, one gentleman also did a quick spitting on my lawn while walking on it. Besides, for a brief 20 mins they also set up some seemingly-heavy supporting base/stepping board which were at least partially sitting on my lawn. All these happening without them ever approaching me or asking for permission. I thought having talked to them three times should stop the issue. To my great surprise, one same worker that was caught on camera crossing freely on my lawn back and forth multiple times, chose to walk on my lawn AGAIN just now (at the time of writing the initial review), perhaps thinking I didn't see, but my security camera system did. This whole "I don't give a xxx about walking on your lawn & property" attitude as I perceived is getting wildly UNPROFESSIONAL, DISRESPECTFUL, and UNACCEPTABLE. Not to even mention potential legal complications, about trespassing, about potentially damaging the lawn/front yard, about potential workers' injury that may happen while they trespass on my property, to name a few. When a matter as simple as "asking them to not walk on my front lawn and property" gets repeatedly disrespected this morning and becomes unnecessarily consuming today, this says a lot about a business and I find it extremely disappointing and frustrating dealing with them on this. read more

We are incredibly pleased we picked Absolute Roof Solutions, your company, to re-roof our house. Back in November 2020, we noticed a large, dark, damp area on the garage ceiling and fearing a leak we called a roofer. He confirmed our suspicions and showed us photos of our cedar shakes torn off by raccoons and squirrels. There were big holes in numerous places. Ours was cedar shakes and our roof was about 45ish years old and we had been putting off replacing our roof because of the high costs. We were quoted as expected a very steep price (current market price?) of replacing our whole house roof. We decided that for the time being, we would simply have the garage roof replaced with the rest of the house being done by 2021. The price was more manageable for us then, as this was urgent. We knew what we were getting into. This year in April, Spring 2021, we tried to reach our original roofers to complete the rest of the job. As expected, they were busy and kept me waiting for about 3 weeks and we were told that all prices were going up especially plywood sheets. We then started to request bids from several other roofers including the original guys who did our garage roof. The job was complicated by the fact the existing cedar shakes were all wrapped and falling off and we had dormers and also steep grades on certain portions of the roof. This house was built in 1971. 2 of the bigger roofer companies stepped in and Absolute was one of them. Throughout the initial sales bidding process, we were impressed by the professionalism of the consultant, Mr. Ken Lillejord. He answered all our questions, educated us on roofing specifics and gave us the confidence to make one of the biggest single purchases one makes in a lifetime. And he was very pleasant throughout the entire process. The job was completed within a period of ten days, in between unexpected rainstorms. The team who completed our project was Stephane Seguin, the Project Manager and his team of Justin Wells and Dan MacEachen. Justin and Dan were very professional, cheerful, polite, cleaned the job site completely and gave us a beautiful new roof. A fine example of service ambassadors and a credit to the company. We are most appreciative of their work and the results. Everyday after they completed their work, they took the due care and consideration to cleanup all mess, leaving our front yard and backyard even cleaner than before the job began. My wife and I could not have been more appreciative. We expected a big mess as like most other contractors, but this was unbelievable. Stephane, the Project Manager was always around when he could make it. Anytime I texted him with my numerous questions, he would reply or else physically come down to explain the details repeatedly. Yes, I annoyed them, but they were very patient as they must have realized that I knew nothing about roofs. I would be wary of hiring Absolute Roofing. We have a standard 3 foot by 4 foot skylight that had a drip at the top edge ( a problem with the roofing / flashing not the skylight). We agreed to pay $175 to arrange an estimate for this job. The company quoted us a figure of over $2700 for the repair. The work described involved removing the skylight and resealing with flashing and shingles. The estimate outlined the scope of the work but did not itemize the cost of the materials ( which are minimum as part of this budget) nor did it reveal the cost of the labor. When I inquired about how many hours of work were involved, it was suggested it would involve two workers providing one day of labour ( which translates into16 man hours of labour - which seems very generous). However, even if you accept that this job is going to take 8 hours to complete, the hour rate works out to $300 + per hour. This seems outrageous. Luckily, I found an independent roofer recommended by a friend. He found the source of the leak and sealed it up in about 30 minutes for the call out charge of $200. read more

We did not have a good experience with them. We will not use them again and would not recommend them. We called them because we had a leak that we wanted fixed. They came for an inspection and identified certain areas as the likely source of the leak. Then they came and did work on those areas they said were probably causing the leak. They were wrong. Then my wife and I identified a source of water ingress and told them. They came again (after we had to approve another estimate, in addition to the one already sent and approved for the previous visit) and did work in that area. They did not solve the problem. Despite not solving the problem, they promptly sent an invoice adding two estimates for the two previous visits. Their estimates (before you approve the work) include the following sentence: "If, after we have completed a repair, you continue to have water ingress issues, please call us. Let's work together to solve this problem." Based on our experience, we recommend that you do not rely on that sentence and not assume that Absolute Roof will propose reasonable solution (i.e., something other than a full roof replacement, which in our case was obviously not necessary, or additional visits for which they will continue to charge you even if they don't fix the problem). That's not what happened to us. I called and left a voice mail asking for a call back to discuss the invoice, as it was clearly a problem that we were being charged full rate when our problem remained unresolved. I never got a call back. Instead, I got an email suggesting that we replace the entire roof, and that any additional visits would be billed again (after three visits already...). In sum, they did an inspection that did not identify the issue; they did not solve our issue after three visits; they charged us their regular rate despite not having solved our problem; they did not return my call or voicemail requesting a call to discuss the obvious problem of a full rate invoice for work that did not solve the leak. When I have a leak, I want it fixed. Absolute Roof did not fix our leak, and charged us over $1400 for their visits. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service, response time and follow up of any company I have dealt with. When the roof was originally done they were very late in completing it. Also it took forever to get problems dealt with after they had my money. When accepting their quote, I specifically stated that they needed to seal the roof against rodents, which they claimed to do, yet we have had rodents entering through holes that were not sealed when the new roof was built. Would highly NOT recommend these guys as they do not care if you have problems after. In addition, when they quoted they slagged Penfolds, yet their workers showed up wearing Penfolds shirts! Got a roof repaired , couple of cracked tiles, which we actually provide the tiles too . The 2 person that came by said it would take roughly 4 hours. But was done and gone in just under a hour and a half. We email and stated that , it should not cost us that much since it took less then quoted time and we provided the tiles as well. We then was told the cost will not change because the 4 hours that was quote included traveling time and providing tiles would not make any difference. ( during email exchange for the cost of the repair and our commitment for the repairs , they did not know about tiles we had ) I am just TOTALY SHOCKED that traveling time would be included when you ask for a service that does not even require the owner to be around and get charged for that kind of service ! read more

Poor communication and still waiting for repairs I called another company. I was told I was on a waiting list by Absolute and they are busy and I wish they would have told me this first. I have had another company come to my home, fix the leak and repair the shingles and vent. Absolute roofing never even covered up the leaking area and still saying I'm on a waiting list. All I can say is I lost 170.00 for an inspection and all they did is tell me my vent is leaking. DUH! thats why I called, cover it up and get it fixed. Finally someone fixed my leaky skylight, after a number of different "Handy Man" and other supposed "professional roofers" attempts I went to Absolute Roof based on a reference from a friend. The solution was the initial installation of the roofing shingles was not done correctly and no matter what was done to the skylight the leak would never have gone away. A re-shingle of the area around the skylight and the problem is solved. This is being written after 8 months of tough BC Rain and winds.
