This is the best store around for outdoor grilling and smoking. We got a beautiful built-in grill from here as part of our backyard patio extension, and we returned to purchase a large Big Green Egg and accessories. The staff are all super knowledgeable and passionate about their products. They'll tell you what's worth buying, what to skip, and take the time to explain everything. Everyone who works there uses the products they sell, and we look forward to our next visit once we get the hang of our new egg and are ready to try out some more accessories. read more

After nearly 4 decades of grilling with charcoal and smoking with wood, I have decided to go gas! So as I'm inclined to do,I shop around not for the best price but the best overall experience. In the case of a grill, it hinges on the salesperson or clerk as the case may be. I have limited knowledge of the natural gas grill I am considering. In light of the several thousand dollars, I intended to spend, my priority was to find someone who wanted to work with and educate me. After visiting other grill dealers in the area and getting a good idea of what I wanted, I came across Barbeques Galore on the internet while searching for info. I had completely forgotten they existed. I have been in other locations a few times and left unimpressed. When I walked in the front door here, I heard two men talking at the front counter. I proceeded to walk that way while looking at the grill display. One of the men (Victor) ask me if he could help me find anything and I said yes, I think you can. I continued looking and rounded the corner away from the front counter and about that time heard, well ok then. I was shocked. He apparently thought I the customer was supposed to walk over and engage him! Needless to say, it didn't go well after that. He did not offer to introduce himself( I knew by his name tag he was Victor) or extend his hand to shake. Wow! After being in sales, service, and management for over 40 years I'm amazed at this type of behavior by people working to sell a product. Obviously, I was taken for granted. I moved on down the street where I had the opposite experience at Firehouse. I was greeted with a friendly smile by Dave and guess what? I bought a very expensive grill from him in about 5 minutes. If you are looking for a grill, don't be mistreated. Shop around. read more

The cutest papa works here. He's adorbs. I've been here twice now. The first time I ventured in to see if the store carried an old school heavy steel New Bruanfels smoker, recommended to me by a legendary private sector pit master (my father). They didn't but what they had was better than what you would find in a big box retailer. I was also introduced to the Green Egg while I was in the store. The sweet guy seemed to push it fairly hard on other customers but he didn't do that to me. He was very helpful though and made suggestions about fuel, cooking tips, etc. to a newbie like myself. He was just overall very nice. The store has gadgets that would tickle the weekend grill king's fancy - cool thermometers, lump charcoal, a couple of varieties of wood (i.e. pecan), and lots of other grilling accessories. (Great place to pick up upcoming holiday gifts for your top chef). The store itself is spacious and laid out in a way that doesn't make you feel crowded too. The second time I ventured in was to refuel and guess who remembered me? There was no one in the store this time. From the moment I walked into this place, I was greeted and treated with the utmost care. The gentleman I worked with (Josh) was very knowledgeable about not only their products, but many products and aspects of outdoor living. After shopping around the store and asking a few questions, I left and said I would return the next day or so. When I returned, not only did the gentleman remember me, he recalled all of the items i was interested in. This wasn't what impressed me though. What impressed me was seeing another customer come in and how he was treated. By the time the second customer came in, I was well into my purchase. After being allowed to walk around for a very short period of time, the gentleman from Barbecues Galore told the customer "apologies, I'm here alone and will get to you as soon as I'm done here". That comment is all most customers need to feel good about waiting. It's like you are basically telling the person "I see you, you are not invisible, your time is important to me". It's basic skills like this I feel are disappearing from retail. It feels good to see people show respect and treat people with care. I made my purchase and was helped to my car with my merchandise. Really disappointed in the service. We came in debating between two grills and they carried one of them. They said hello once we got really close to the checkout desk. Asked us what we were interested in and we told him. He made one comment about the grill we were interested in and went back to talking to the other employee. We walked over and looked at the grill ourselves and no one came over to answer questions, or just talk. No one else was even in the store. They had a decent selection but lacked quality service. I purchased a XL Big Green Egg from them on Friday after doing some price comparisons. Not only did they match the price but with the price guaranty they provide, they beat the price. Outstanding service. They answered all my questions, I will not shop anywhere else for the additional items I will be purchasing. One more thing, after cooking on a Napoleon Gas grill then switching to "The Big Green Egg" I could never go back to cooking on Gas or Propane. The flavor difference is unmatched! read more

I purchased my second grill in 16yrs from this company and my first from Juan at at this store. I really enjoyed working with him on the purchase. He actually called me a week and half later to check on me and to be sure I loved the grill. I do love it, it was harder to put together than was explained, however well worth the effort. read more

We bought our first island grill from BBQ Galore in the late 1990's from the store in Plano. Over the years we bought several other items from them as well as parts and accessories for the grill. The grills in the 90's were not SS so after about 12 years or so of good service we decided to change out the grill with a newer SS model, which we also got at BBQ Galore. That grill worked fine as well. We maintained it and switched out a few parts that were not SS when we bought it, but it never gave us any problems and the staff at BBQ Galore were always helpful. We recently sold our home and the island stayed with it, so we went shopping for a new one. The Plano store has been taken over by another company but we did go there to check out what they had to offer. We also looked at several other options both B&M and online. Then we went to the BBQ Galore store in Allen where Josh helped us. We found exactly what we were looking for at a great price. The customer service was excellent and they were very accommodating. Personally we would recommend BBQ Galore and the Allen store specifically to anyone shopping for a new grill. All grills need regular maintenance and parts need replacing, but we have found the BBQ Galore products to be very competitive and the company has always been a pleasure to deal with. We would not hesitate to use then again for our outdoor cooking needs or for any of the products they carry. read more

I have been shopping at BBQ Galore in Allen for a few years now and I've always gotten great service. A few weeks ago I purchased a grill (which I will not disclose at the mercy of the stores products) I've owned this manufactures grills before in the past over several years and never had any issues...and overall I am happy with the product. however, this particular unit wasn't functioning properly and after several replaced parts from the manufacture themselves, nothing got better. I felt like the company I was working with lost interest so I turned to Josh (store manager) and got him involved. He was prompt and supportive and with very little issue a week later let me return my grill for full sale price that I had paid. These are the kinds of people that I want to support and work with. I love to grill, I may not be the best, but I can hold my own. So when the wife and I decided to add an outdoor kitchen to our backyard retreat project for 2016. It was research time. The Big Box stores are fine for that roll around grill for a very modest price, done with those. Their version of an outdoor kitchen is not bad, but not enough protection from the elements here in Texas. So I was off to the Internet...my hands and eyes hurt after all the sites and blogs and whatever. I found out what I needed to know about price verses American and China built units. I have multiple projects to complete and a budget to consider... Carport, French doors, covered patio and the outdoor kitchen with a pergola cover. So off to the local BBQ stores in DFW. After hitting them it was Wesley and BBQ Galore that won. Not just for the price (other stores came in less and higher) it was the fact that Wesley took his time, work the CAD program to fit what I needed in my 12 foot space. The 32 inch Ultra and the large Big Green Egg fits with all the drawers and fridge that we wanted. When I went back to place my order, I found out from Wesley that he was offered a MGMT position in a store in Dallas. I wish him all the best. read more

Poor service received at the Allen Texas location on 4/17/14. Attempted to return purchased product with my original receipt -- required physical credit card to accompany receipt - I did not have the physical credit card (spouse had credit card at the time), no refund allowed - no cash or credit to another card (a policy not published/displayed). Disappointed I made the 40 minute round trip for nothing. I will not continue my patronage of this company - (not that my $$ have a huge impact, but every penny counts). read more

Went to day to look at the Weber q2400 vs 1400 electric grills. Terry the sales person walked over to us and asked what we were looking for and I told him and he said they didn't carry the 2400. I started to ask another question and I followed him up to register where he just stood there never said anything to me. Rude. I wanted 2 buy 2 of those Little grills. Its one thing to sell a good product. Its another to stand behind something--when you don't have to. I bought a 32 inch grill about a year ago along with a grill cover. About a month ago, while we were on a trip, the elastic broke on the cover. I found it lying in my yard and the grill had been uncovered for as long as a week. Needless to say, the grill had been left to the rain, bugs, etc. and I had to spend some time cleaning it up. I took the cover back to the Stacy Road store where I had purchased it. I felt I probably would not been able to claim any warranty on it as there really is no such thing for something like this. However, when I explained my problem to Josh Bowery at the store--he simply said--even though there is no warranty on this cover, I will go ahead and replace it at no charge as a matter of customer goodwill. Well, he sure earned mine. Thought there are literally dozens of barbeque stores much closer to where I live, this store has me as a customer for life--thanks to the awesome customer service Josh Bowery gave me! read more
