    Chilaquiles + chorizo
    Alyssa C.

Came in for bottomless Sunday brunch. The bottomless at the door was through an event company but they still had bottomless on the menu. I don't believe there was a price difference just slightly confusing. The Dj played a range of music and there was room for people to dance. Our waitress was attentive and answered our menu questions. She made sure to keep the mimosas coming! The chilaquiles was a large portion. They were flavorful and would be good without the chorizo. The guacamole appetizer was fresh and has the right amount of salt. The chicken and churros was a delicious combination and perfectly sweet and crispy.

Tabu in Chicago's Fulton Market is a Latin fusion dining & nightlife experience like no other, with bold flavors & interiors so stunning (10,000 hand-cut rope ceiling, pop art murals, sunken cocktail lounge) that you'll spend half the night just taking it all in! The handcrafted cocktails are next-level & the food brings the same bold, creative energy to every plate. It's a night out & a full experience all wrapped into one unforgettable visit!

I came in with a group of friends during happy hour. I was surprised to see so many empty tables on a Friday early evening. As we walked in, I noticed the amount of decorative details/Insta friendly spots within the restaurant. We ordered multiple flights, tacos and elote fritters from the HH menu. Overall we were most impressed with the mushroom tacos - so much so that we ordered another round of them. Not only did they taste good but they were a unique combination that is worthy of recommending. The rest of the HH menu items we had were good - just didnt compare to the mushroom tacos. We also ordered a couple of drinks from the regular menu (smoked pina colada was perfection) and the tlayuda nachos. I had posted a video on my personal IG and received numerous inquiries from friends wanting to know more. Unfortunately the presentation was better than the taste. The tortilla lacked the right texture and then it was also difficult to get sufficient toppings to chip ratio. Our server provided sufficient service though keeping us updated with food timing updates/ HH reorder timing would have been helpful. If in the area- I would recommend grabbing some tacos and drinks as part of a crawl and be sure to snag some fun pics of you and your crew!

Came for brunch with a group of friends. Really nice ambiance and decor inside. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. I had the perfect Paloma drink and it was just that. Very balanced. I also tried the corn fritters which were delish with the dipping sauce. For my main, I had the steak and eggs. My biggest complaint was that I ordered my steak medium and it came out very well done. Like no pink in sight. So this made it a bit tough to chew. Otherwise, very pleasant experience.

Stopped in on a Thursday with a friend for happy hour. We got in around 5;15. Happy hour is 5-6pm. There were 4 other patrons in the whole restaurant. Service was pretty good to start. We started with marg flights, queso fundido and a chips and salsa trio. The queso was good, but the poblanos had 0 flavor. No spice, no taste. It was seriously lacking. The marg flight wasn't great. Extremely sour and we didn't really like the flavors except the mango. The ube watermelon tasted like cough syrup. The salsa trio was also subpar. They didn't taste fresh and the flavors were not great. No spice at all. The chips were great though, but could've used salt. Tacos were the stars. I had the Seoul pork belly and the sticky mushroom. Both were very flavorful. The hot sauces were also very flavorful and definitely added to the experience. Ambiance is fantastic. Definitely instagramable!

I have been wanting to go to Tabú for a while now and finally got to go for dinner. I was in awe with the beauty of the restaurant. The decor, art and bar were absolutely stunning. The thought that went into this restaurant is amazing. There are a ton of tables and some semi private booths. We had great service and they had a lot of staff working which was nice to see. The food was 10/10, I was very impressed. I tried the margarita flight, the flavors were good but very sweet and I wish the small glasses had salted rims. Food wise I cannot recommend their ceviche enough as an app! I am still thinking about it to this day. I also was obsessed with the corn fritters, I have not seen that on any other menu. The mushroom taco was amazing and so was the chicken thigh entree.

Love the happy hour here for their drinks! You can do HH at the bar where if you come on the earlier side, there will be seats available. The bartenders are always super nice. The interior of Tabu is insanely cute with their wallpaper and fake flowers hanging from the wall.  Drinks: The Oro Mexicana and Purple Pina Eater are my favorites here.  Food: The grilled octopus and ceviche are great on the HH menu. Outside of HH, the food is okay but the portions are generous. It's a great space for big groups because they do have large format cocktails/ flights and tables to accommodate bigger groups!

I came here for my birthday dinner and really enjoyed it! All of the margs tasted good, and the queso fundido hit the spot. We also got the salsa trio, pierogies, and asada tacos. Safe to say I was stuffed. Don't even get me started on the churroulette! Yes, I got the bullet of the habenero which was actually a fun touch. The vibe of this place was great and even the floor of the bathrooms was super fun.

I visited this place on for a Saturday afternoon brunch with one of my friends. We were surprised how empty it was for a bottomless brunch / weekend place. The music was popping too. The service was very slow, like the waitress went MIA for a while and the food came very late. I order the Korean sticky rice tacos and it was really good. It was a unique concept and flavors.

The restaurant is beautiful and the service is impeccable. My friends and I went here for restaurant week, but unfortunately the food fell short. The dips had weird flavor pairings and the beef taco was a missed take on an Italian beef. I would have preferred a more traditional Latin experience in terms of food.

First of all, 10/10. We came on Valentine's Day and Marco was our waiter. He was phenomenal. Cannot recommend him enough. He answered every question without a problem. I ordered the tainted love from the Valentine's Day menu and the piña colada ceviche. Both I would order again. I love cocktails that do not taste like alcohol and this one was perfect. For my main I had the steak with fries. The chimichurri sauce really tied it together. For the dessert we had the passion fruit funnel cake. It was also delicious.

The food was decent/tasty. Sad about the beverage options, not that much variety. Service was very kind and sweet. Ambiance is really beautiful with flowers and bright colors. The bathroom area has a dark art exhibit vibe. It was interesting.

We came here for my wife's birthday on a Saturday night. The evening started out quiet, with a rather empty dining room. The place got packed by the time we were heading out. My guess is that people come later so they can enjoy the this place when it converts into a lounge. The service for the most part was good. It started out great, but as more people started coming in, the service got slower. Took about 20 minutes to get our bill so we could pay and get out. We started off with their Queso Fundido and forgot to bring tortillas. Everything else went pretty smooth though. My wife ordered their Bandeja Paisa tacos and I ordered their Steak & Frites. The tacos were really flavorful. They came with chorizo, skirt steak, plantain, Chicharron, quail egg, aji, and avocado. A lot of stuff going on there but they all went so perfectly inside the tortilla. Wouldn't mind ordering these again. The skirt steak as tender, and you get a little heat with the chorizo. My steak was cooked perfectly. It came with chipotle chimichurri, habanero aioli and a lot of fried that we couldn't finish. We also ordered a few drinks and they were all tasty. Fruita Fresca was our favorite. Overall a satisfying meal and decent night. Will definitely be returning.

Hi All, Does Tabu allow children during the day?…

Yes children are more than welcome.

Is this a lounge at night and what type of music do they play?

Tonight they stamped my hand and told me that the night life was about to start. Ive never stayed to witness but ive been told that yes it is a lounge at night. They play a lot of latin/spanish and urban music.

Do they have happy hour menu?

    Yes https://tabuchicago.com/happy-hour/

    High chairs for little kids?

    Gluten free options?

Yes - labeled GF on menu https://tabuchicago.com/menu/

    How is parking around there?

This restaurant is actually near free street parking if you're lucky near morgan st. Other than that it's paid street parking or spot hero is a good choice as well if no luck with street parking.

It is definitely unique, creative, and a massive differentiator from any other cocktail bar I've been to. Now, let's talk cocktails! The creativity of the interior extends into the menu. Unlike some places that just make variations of existing classics (except for items specifically so named, like the Old Fashioned or Espresso Martini), all of their cocktails are unique and interesting. Time for a punch card? I ordered the Maximillian the Imposter. While I'm not typically a fan of banana (except for banana bread), I thought I'd step out of my comfort zone, and I wanted to try something 'flaming'. Flaming it was! The preparation of the drink involved a surprising amount of fire. I initially thought this was just for show, but no, this translated into a noticeable smoky flavor. Beyond that, the drink was strong, not overly sweet, and an all-around delight. There was one bartender on the night I was here, and while it was busy, I was still able to get my drink in a reasonable amount of time. I also feel as though they have reasonable prices, especially considering the quality and the market rates. King of Cups gets busy, and for good reason: they are an all-around phenomenal place, from the drinks to the vibe, and everything in between. A guitarist sits somewhere against a brick wall and plays music lightly but energetically. Service is friendly from start to finish and smiles are on everyone's faces. The menu is pretty easy to understand. You can get a three-course meal, or you can get each entree à la carte. You have two fondue candles in front of you, one for the cheese and dessert, and the other for the oil. We chose the three-course meal, and it was delightful. We started with the cheese appetizer. You get a basket of bread and fruit and we chose the seasonal cheese to dip. The oil for our meat was then left to heat, and we received a massive platter of veggies and meats for our main course. We chose the option for all selections of meat and seafood. After trying all the meats, I would opt for the lobster and shrimp. You can also substitute the oil for a broth. I would like to try the broth for next time. In one of the shakers, Gejas makes their own meat spice mix. It's recommended to put on the meats and even the desserts. It's a mix of tangy and savory and was a great compliment to the meal. We then chose the seasonal dessert, a white chocolate with vanilla cookies. Fruit, marshmallows, and churros to dip. We were so full by the time dessert came, but we enjoyed a few bites and took it home. The three-course meal, with five types of meat, came with about 10 pieces of meat. It doesn't look like a lot of food, but it truly is, with the apps, veggies, etc, your stomach will be full when you walk out of here. They also start the entire course with a mixed salad (so technically it's a four-course meal). It was very fairly priced, as well. Initially looking at the prices, you may think it's expensive, but it truly is a value with the amount of food they serve. This was rated as most romatic restaurant in Chicago. Its ambiance gives you the romantic feel, the guitarist adds to the atmosphere, and the staff is professional and friendly. This really was a great place and we enjoyed our time and meal.

Not many Michelin starred restaurants can pull that off on a Monday, but Esmé always seems to have energy. This place has become one of our most reliable favorites. They change the menu a few times a year in conjunction with rotating local artists, and the restaurant itself feels more like a refined art gallery than a traditional dining room with white walls, clean lines, simple and elegant. Last night was no exception to their usual excellence. The experience is really anchored by Chris Gerber, a longtime Chicago hospitality pro, and his team. They are flawless. This is true hospitality in every sense of the word. They usually keep two signature dishes, and for good reason. The caviar supplement sounds odd on paper, but in your mouth it is absolute perfection. The cod sounds simple, but it is anything but, rich, decadent, and always one of the highlights. Everything new on this menu was also outstanding. Every course had beautifully balanced sauces that made sense with the dish, and the presentations were creative without being gimmicky or over the top. The plating always ties in with the featured artist in a way that feels thoughtful, not forced. One tip. Be careful when choosing your beverage pairing. We did not read closely enough and ended up with the more inventive pairing that included cocktails and a beer. It was fun, but afterward we wished we had gone with the higher end wine pairing instead. Bottom line. Esmé remains one of the most consistent Michelin starred experiences in Chicago. To echo several of the reviews below, the salad was awkward to share and scanty, the soup was good but the bread served with it felt like an afterthought, the sturgeon wasn't anything special though the sauce was quite good, and we are pretty sure the cut of beef was not wagyu or if it was it was not cooked the right way. The beef was the most disappointing part, I couldn't even chew through all of it. The add-ons were the best part - pasta was great and our dessert was delicious. Chicago Restaurant week. I reviewed various dining options in search of a good place for dinner…read more Reddit gave me some ideas. I'd never been to Willow Room and liked that they had a four course dinner menu, with items I liked. I was able to make a reservation for a Saturday night at 8:15pm. PARKING Parking on Halsted on a Saturday night can be a nightmare, and it did take a minute to find street parking. North of the 1800 block is busier because there are several restaurants within a two block radius. Side streets are permit parking after 6pm. Meters on Halsted are $2.50/hr. ATMOSPHERE Willow Room was pretty packed. We had a reservation for 8:15pm and my party of two was seated right away. The restaurant features a full bar, dim lighting and is nice and roomy. They have banquette seating around the perimeter, in addition to tables in the middle. SERVICE Our server, who was very nice and accommodating during our dining experience, came by and gave us our menu's. I had already decided on the RW menu and after review, my friend was interested in the Beef Wellington (not on RW menu). Our server informed us that normally the whole table had to order off of the RW menu if one person does, but said she would check with the kitchen since this was the last day of RW. Luckily, we were able to proceed with ordering from different menu's. FOOD I ordered a raspberry Cosmopolitan. I'm a Riesling/Moscato girlie, but I tasted the Riesling and didn't like it. RW dinner was priced at $60. I ordered: First Course: Caesar Salad (Typical salad, was good) Second Course: Mussels (Tasted fine, came with a baguette) Third Course: Short Rib (Could've been slightly more tender and better seasoned. I've definitely had better. Wouldn't order again.) Fourth Course: Orange Ricotta Donuts (Donuts were very good. Three were served, a few more would have been more filling.) My friend ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and: Truffle Fries (Fries were very tasty. I would order again if I went back.) Beef Wellington (The breading was buttery and very good. The beef could've been more seasoned. I wouldn't order.) Key Lime Pie (Was not sweet and had no taste. When our server came back and saw it was uneaten, she offered to take it off the bill. It should be removed from the menu altogether.) The busboys and server were very attentive. Our water glasses were always filled. OVERALL The atmosphere was nice, our server was great. Of all the food we ordered, I would order the truffle fries and Cosmopolitan again. I did leave full and did take my leftover Short Rib to go. Main dishes needed more seasoning. I would dine here again and try a different menu (brunch/lunch), or Happy Hour if they offer it.
