Octopus with Russian potato salad and black garlic sauce

Happy hour every day and a parking lot behind Flint Creek Cattle Co. What struck me was the friendliness of the staff. The food was also great with unique flavor combos.

The cocktails came out looking like they were ready for a photoshoot, one bright and citrusy with that dramatic ice sphere, the other pink and charming with its blueberry crown. The grilled octopus was tender with just the right char and it was the best dish we had! The oysters were cold, clean, and beautifully presented, and the beef tartare with the dill hit the right spot. Altogether, it felt curated and exactly the kind of lineup for a good round of light bites!

Wonderful cute spot and delicious food for date nights. It's pretty rare to be surprised in a good way and Bar Sur Mer delivered multiple dishes that wowed. I really liked the fish collar and the brûléed goat cheese. Can't wait to go back for more seasonal dishes!

Absolutely loved Bar Sur Mer! The ambiance is very cute and warm, perfect for a date night or a cute night out with friends. Staff were really friendly and patient to give us different recommendations based on our preferences. We tried the charred Mediterranean octopus, lamb crepinette, Manila clams, and wood-fired hongos. All were beautifully prepared and delicious. The cocktails were just as impressive: I had the NY sour and it was incredible. Would note that this is a tapas-style spot, so the portions are on the smaller side. Definitely recommend ordering a few dishes to share.

Bar Sur Mer is that perfect little neighborhood tapas bar serving great vibes, tasty small plates, and phenomenal cocktails. The atmosphere was laid back and charming. The high ceiling creates a spacious feel and the center capiz chandelier is a nice touch. The foliage perfectly ties with the space and the lighting adds to the mood. My husband and I decided to stop by for afternoon drinks and appetizers. Our server was accommodating and allowed us to choose where to sit. Their happy hour is daily from 5PM to 6PM and they had a decent selection of wines and cocktails. Of course, being a bourbon guy, I ordered the Glorioso. The drink had a wonderful anise and orange flavors and was served over a large ice cube. After much deliberation, we decided on a surf and turf appetizer journey. We ordered a dozen oysters on a half shell, seawolf baguette, beef tartare, and charred mediterranean octopus. I was impressed at how our server timed the arrival of each appetizer. He was mindful and didn't want to immediately crowd the table with our entire order. The oysters were freshly shucked and served with a peppercorn mignonette. Sealwolf baguette was amazing and came with mini dish of whipped confit garlic and chive butter. The beef tartare came next and was served with a quail egg yolk that still in the open shell. We mixed the yolk with beef before serving. Of course, the tartare was also amazing. The final dish was the charred mediterranean octopus topped with a sherry pimenton vinaigrette and herb salad. The octopus was tender and the charred pieces went well with the pimenton. This restaurant will definitely make it to my "must return list" of happy hour places.

This was our second time over here. First time we stopped here for drinks before grabbing dinner next door, the drinks were so unique and delicious. My drink was a take on the caprese. The bartender is super knowledgeable and is passionate about her craft. All the food we tried was amazing too - we got the jamon chips, lamb meatball and basque cheesecake. Our server was very friendly too and we enjoyed chatting with him. Would highly recommend checking this out for your next date night!

How I heard of this place: A new place opens upon in the neighborhood, and everyone knows! We walk by this location often, and were pleased to see that a seafood-oriented establishment joined the likes of Flintcreek, which served many obscure meats and heavily game laden. Type of cuisine: While my first visit was limited to mocktails, Chef Eric prepares "Pacific American style cuisine" at all of his restaurants (FlintCreek, RockCreek). Bar Sur Mer offers a Spain-inspired menu, emphasizing fresh ingredients with pronounced flavors from the Pacific Northwest and around the world. Ambiance: Small and intimate, yet modern and minimalist, the space has warm, inviting and small booths set in bay-style windows, as well as tables with pairs of chairs for the smaller parties, couples that dine in. The restaurant is 21+ and is most obvious as the bar takes up the majority of the interior, which is also laden with windows allowing the natural light of long summer evenings to give ambiance to the space. What I ordered: I selected the Red Minnow ($14) off of the Zero Proof drinks menu. As I do not consume alcohol, the lack of creativity in mocktails without the use of zero proof alcohol-flavored beverages was a bit of a disappointment. The Red Minnow, minus the Giffard Apertif was delightful. It consisted of Hibiscus Tea, Agave, Lime and an "orange twist". The side of soda water I requested allowed for it to last a bit longer, while giving way to a "fun" beverage enjoyed with friends. What I loved: The service was friendly and kind. The music - old school hip hop - was a great and unexpected bonus to our evening out. And the beverage wasn't sweet, yet it also wasn't too tart. The balance was lovely. Why I loved it: Neighborhood establishments are always a great way to spend an evening out with neighborhood friends. Cost: High

Can't recommend this happy hour enough! Every cocktail was so unique and fresh, couldn't go wrong with any! The octopus dish was my favorite, so tender and the salad with it was flavorful. Also enjoyed the patatas bravas, squid, mac and cheese, and bread. Super fast with the drinks and food and also our waitress was the best!

Highly recommend this cool vibey spot. waitstaff was super attentive, hospitable and knowledgeable about the menu. Ah...everything was perfection from start to finish. After our drinks arrived, we didn't have to wait too long for the food to be delivered. Dish after dish was brought to our table to our delight. Feast for the eyes and equally tasty. The clear winner was the grilled octopus. So delicious cooked to perfection. Stop by; you won't be disappointed.

This small but brightly lit spot has been on my list of to-tries for a while and it lived up to all my hopes and aspirations for it. From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The cocktails were as delicious as they were beautiful. The small plates were perfect for being able to share and try more of the menu. It is a more expensive spot than I would usually spend on a causal night out but it was worth it!

This time around and learned that out bartender Sarah had created and designed the entire cocktail menu. We came because we were told they had the best espresso martinis in the neighborhood. They were fresh with a hint of mint/orange. Very refreshing for a coffee cocktail, did not once taste too heavy. The other cocktail we tried was Sea Senorita with firewater bitters for a genuine kick. We had the potatoes which were both beautiful and delicious. The mushrooms, and the fresh oysters on the half shell ($28/half dozen) with eye-catching pink peppercorns in the mignonette. The place was packed when we first arrived so we gave it 45 minutes and space is opened up. Don't be discouraged if you see a line... the cocktails are worth it.

I love dining at this beautiful place! We stopped here for an early dinner. It's great for happy hour in Greenwood, discounted small plates with cocktail and wine specials. The drinks and wine selection are very good, perfectly curated, and the service is top notch! Josiah and Sarah are super on top of making sure we had water and drinks and clearing our plates when necessary. We ordered the baguette with chive and garlic butter, the cod collars, the lamb crépinette, the manila clams, the mushrooms, the octopus, and the sardines. Everything was delicious, perfectly seasoned and had great combinations of flavors. For dessert, we had espresso martinis and the Manchego cheese with anise olive oil crackers, chocolate covered almonds, and quince jam. Will definitely be back again to try more items on the menu!

This place reminds me of a Spanish tapas version of Le Pichet. The cocktails here are delicious. The menu items are selected and few. We ordered the baguette, kokotxos, Jamon Serrano with chips and patatas. All were delicious. The service was fine. But the only thing I question is their mandatory 23 percent tips included.... I remmeber We had to work for the tips. The service was fine but it wasn't 23 percent. The inflation is hard but its hard on everyone equally. So I am sure I will be back here but not anytime soon. Just when I am in the neighborhood. So if the subtotal was 84 dollars, tax and the tip is about 35 percent additional fee.. my advise is to budget the extra 35 percent

I've been behind a bar for more than 30 years…read more Long enough to know the difference between service and hospitality. Service is getting the drink right. Hospitality is making somebody feel seen. Dark Room made me feel seen. There was something about this place that hit me almost immediately. Maybe it was the room. Maybe it was the weirdness. Maybe it was the absolute lack of anything cookie-cutter. Maybe it was the way the staff cared without performing the fact that they cared. If you've spent any real time in Seattle bars, you know being the first-timer can sometimes feel a little rough. You walk in and have to earn your way into the rhythm of the place. Not here. Dark Room had that old-school hospitality I built a career around. The kind where somebody notices you. Reads the room. Knows when to talk, when to leave you alone, when to make a recommendation, when to surprise you. The drinks were strange and thoughtful and beautifully made. The food had personality. The room had soul. And then Ewan put a $12.87 "industry credit" on our bill. Twelve dollars and eighty-seven cents. It wasn't the amount. It was the gesture. A little nod across the bar world. A tiny act of recognition from one hospitality person to another. After 30 years in this business, I can tell you that those things matter. A lot. Because the best bars don't just serve drinks. They create a temporary world -- one with its own language, rituals, surprises, and small acts of grace. They remind you that hospitality is not about being impressed. It is about being welcomed. It is about leaving a place feeling a little more connected than when you walked in. That is what Dark Room gave me. It reminded me why I stayed in this business for so long: for the ritual, the intimacy, the creativity, the care, and the beautiful weirdness of making strangers feel at home for a few hours. The ultimate. The unique. The weird. That's the stuff. And Dark Room absolutely gets it.i

Stumbletown is a true carnivorous dream dining experience. Let's start with the menu it's simple. Your choice is duck or steak with an option for sauce. Why complicate things Yelpers, this place is "THE KISS" method so don't try and overthink things cause the chef doesn't . In case you're wondering I ordered the steak with Chimichurri sauce and this was layered over a mound of some of the best fries I've consumed in ages. Note they cook the flesh with a SOUS VIDE machine slow and low to make the meat tender and juicy. My guess are the fries had to be double fried in duck fat judging by the crunchiness and flavor... Yes for $25 I was served a steak mound of flesh over fries and loved every bite. Flavor bomb alert is the combo of steak , fries and Chimichurri smothered over the top IS AWESOME. Its a heavenly marriage of flavors for those seeking a sensual flavor experience... Note the homemade chimichurri sauce was a game changer as its expansion of the flavors is beyond anything imaginable. I only wish they sold by the bottle for home use it was that flavorful. Ok, by now you're savoring my photos and maybe licking your phone and I understand why , so just image how I felt actually eating. For beverages it's water ( free & self serve ) or a full bar of intoxicants you can walk up and order.... Keep in mind Stumbletown is a waiter free environment which is AWESOME !
