This service was terrible. I went there for brunch for a birthday party and they rushed us for our "unlimited mimosas " and then wanted to tell us half way through to slow down because we're asking for them too often after we finished each one. Once I was told to slow down after we were all on our 6th one and not feeling a ounce of drunk wanted to speak to the manager because accounting her l we were going too fast. I spoke to her and as we weren't taking about what she told her server to tell us she threw her employee under the bust and blame her for everything. Bar Rosso. More like bar No-so. My family decided to make reservations for Sunday brunch here after having a decent brunch here. We walk in and there's a DJ playing LOUD house music at 11:30 am - Who wants to hear club music on a Sunday morning during brunch?? Our experience was already off to a bad start. We were seated upstairs, and our drink orders weren't taken for ~20 minutes! After placing our drink orders, we got our drinks about 15 minutes later. 35 minutes into our family Sunday brunch all we had was cold bread and drinks. My parents ordered iced tea- the iced tea was warm with not a single ice cube! After finally placing our order about 45 minutes after being seated (skipped appetizer because we were so hungry), we finally received our food. Unfortunately, the food was as bad as the service! For starters- $19 steak and eggs. COLD. Didn't even bother having them make a new order because after an hour in to painfully loud and obnoxious music and horrible service, we were ready to get out of that place. Then, my sisters Egg order was wrong. Received bacon instead of sausage. When they replaced her bacon with sausage, it was burnt to a crisp. Have you ever cooked in a coal fire barbecue? That's what the sausage looked like. Only giving this place 2 stars because we didn't have to pay for the cold steak and eggs. Needless to say, we won't be back. Bad service, cold food, below diner quality sides, and 7.50 for 2 seltzers? Won't be back. First time coming here for brunch. Was so excited to try the breakfast pizza with prosciutto and my boyfriend ordered a burger. We got there right when it opened and we were hungry! Bar Rosso is right next door and none of us had ever been so we went there instead. We were so surprised when we walked in. This place is pretty big and it has such a nice ambiance. It's warm and laid back with a trendy vibe. We had amazing service- our waitress Kamila (or maybe Camilla) was GREAT. The food blew us away- everything was so good. We ordered garlic bread, truffle fries, fried mozzarella balls, bruschetta, crispy Brussel sprouts, crispy calamari, arugula salad and drinks. Those were the best truffle fries I've ever had and the mozzarella balls were delicious. No complaints what so ever. I wish I found this place sooner!! Our server was a latinx man with a tattoo behind his ear. He was so sweet at first, but did not check with us once we got our drinks, our apps, and forgot to put in my friend's mussel pasta dish. She got her dinner as we all finished our meals. He took a while to get our second round of drinks, and brought the wrong wine at one point (brought a red instead of a white). He didn't apologize for my friend's meal taking forever, as he clearly forgot to put it in. He gave us a virtual tab, so we did not see the itemized bill and price, he went with the approach of "you ordered two margs, brussel spouts, and a salad", I would say yes, and he would take my card to swipe. Without telling me the total, I signed and the screen and was taken to a screen to add a tip (unknowingly adding an additional tip on top of the gratuity). We all left 18%-20% tip to what was already added due to not being able to see our tab as a traditional receipt would have provided. Basically, this subpar service was rewarded with a 36%-38% total tip for doing the least. I have no issue with leaving a wonderful tip for a STELLAR server, as I've worked as a server for 6 years. But he didn't even check in on us, and did not give us a receipt that we can look at to see what we should truly add. At the end, we were all a bit confused at how much more we all spent, and I asked him "sir was the gratuity included already?" and he was like "oh yes, I am so sorry I forgot to tell you the gratuity gets automatically included", I told him "That makes sense, but I left an extra tip then" and he was just like "oh okay I'm sorry" and just walked away. It's got a door so you have some privacy, and you don't have to hear the rest of the restaurant. The room itself, it's a wood floor, walls and ceiling. Very loud. An area rug or cheap carpeting would really go a long way here. Somehow our group of 25ish people ended up with one very overwhelmed, and frankly slow, waiter and one busboy that was actually very good. I dont think I've ever been served Chinese restaurant style cheap shrimp at an Italian restaurant before that could of at least been butterflied to deceive the quality. My penne a la vodka pasta was subpar I expected pancetta like it said on the menu since protein add ons were not an option or mentioned, and I only got tiny pieces that at that point I wouldn't have cared if I had been offered bacon crumbs. One of my favorite places to go to in Stamford. I either come to just hangout with-friends, get dinner or have a lowkey night out. Whatever you choose to do you can't go wrong with this place. I love the atmosphere here and the outdoor seats with the fire-pit set up outside. There are seats downstairs and upstairs. I do wish the seats/tables weren't sort of on top of each other because you feel like you don' have much arm space when you're sitting down to eat but whatever. Bread and oil is yummmmy, my friends and I always ask for more, yes I know we're annoying Their salads and entrees are very good. Ive had their kale salad and their chicken entree. The margherita pizza is very good too, one of my faves! Prices are fair, bathrooms are nice and clean, the staff is professional and always on top of the orders. The girl who dj's here on the weekends is sick! My friends and I love her! She plays all the good throwback music and gets the ppl up and moving. She's really cool. The hubs and I went to Bar Rosso on Saturday night....after a lonnng time of waiting for them to finally open. We definitely weren't disappointed! The space is fantastic--it's very open and breezy; however, keep in mind that also equals LOUD. Didn't bother us though. They have only Italian wines, but they have a huge chalkboard explaining the different provinces, what the wines taste like etc. We orded a glass of wine at the bar before being seated and the bartender seemed VERY knowledgable as well. There is seating both downstairs and upstairs--these are reserved--as well as in the bar, which first come, first serve. We were seated upstairs. The seating is a bit tight, but not uncomfortably so. We ordered a decent bottle of Pinot Noir and the price was right--$39. We were also served our bread--which was very good and served with a nice olive oil. We then settled in on the menu and decided on orderinga bunch of different foods, but no actual entree. We ended up with: ~Saffron Arincini--very tasty, the saffron was light and balanced ~Meatballs and Gravy--these definitely had a few different meats in them, we could taste some veal--VERY good and the presentation in a mason jar was cool ~Whipped Riccotta (delicious--nice and light!) ~Polenta Fries (MUST TRY) ~Calamari--nice, but nothing extraordinary ~Salami--very good ~Prosciutto ~Housemade mozz (and yes, a small serving, but very good) ~Roasted Broccoli Rabe and Hot Sausage Pizza ~Cavatelli and Sausage The pasta was definitely homemade and pretty darn good. The pizza was nice too, although I do prefer my pizza a little more "well"..but, that's just my preference. I would order it again. We also had the panna cotta for dessert--this was a delicious end to our meal. Light and refreshing, perfect end to a heavier meal. While we definitely enjoyed the food (I didn't pick up on the oversalted-ness in any of our dishes), and our waiter was fantastic, the additional service was really off. The bus boys seemed a bit clueless--water was constantly filled at first...but we were then left empty towards the middle of the meal. Hubs asked a few questions...and they said okay and walked away with no answers. Also, our pizza and pasta, which we split as our main course, came out lukewarm....you could tell it had sat around a bit. The flavor was still great though! All in all, we had a great time. The things that need to be fixed are things that any fledgling restaurant encounters--service just needs to be balanced, which most likely went hand in hand with our food coming out cold. This was the first place I went out to eat once restriction were eased. The tables are spaced out six feet a part. I know this because I asked the waiter if it would be alright to move my chair next to my date. He said it wasn't possible because it would violate distance between tables. I've been here before and thought it would make a nice place for my holiday get-together with my coworkers. We made a reservation for 8 through Bar Rosso's open table page. On the night of, my coworkers arrived for the reservation only to be told they had rented out the entire restaurant for a private party and had cancelled all other reservations. They told my friends they had called my phone three times the day before and left a message. My phone didn't ring once and there is no message on it. My coworkers and I will not be returning. I'm blown away they would cancel every persons' reservation just because a company planned too late for their party and just showed up with more cash to try to push everyone else who had reservations there out. Very kind in helping us figure out what to get from the menu. As a few suggestions: the Brussels sprouts, Short rib gnocchi. As for drinks: Rossatini, all summer long, and the blood orange margarita (slightly spicy but as someone who doesn't enjoy spice that much, it was still a delicious touch). I visited this restaurant yesterday and it was okay. I would rate the food a solid B. I had the scallops with risotto, which was good (A-) and the pepperoni pizza (B). The location is great and I love that there is a convenient parking lot across the street. All the wait staff wore masks (not always properly/over their nose), but I appreciated the effort. However, I took a star away from my rating because the tables were way too close to each other for outside seating. We are still in the middle of a pandemic and there is a certain distance that tables who are not eating together should be. My friend chose this place initially because they were practicing social distance a couple of months ago. However, she apologized to me last night when she realized the tables are spaced pre-pandemic distances. I had to put my mask back on when a large family sat directly behind me. I felt so uncomfortable that I finished my dinner and rushed out. For this reason I will not go back to this restaurant until after the pandemic has subsided. read more

In our opinion, this is one of the better choice of restaurants in all of Stamford. Went there for the first time this past Tuesday, then went there again 2 days later. All around pleasant. Great atmosphere, decor, large bar area, outdoor seating and even a super clean bathroom. The food was awesome and so was the service. What I can rave about the most so far is the grilled octopus. It's very tender, juicy and tasty. Today, we had the mixed grilled for 2 and there was plenty left over to take home. The mussels in white white and tomato sauce was also flavorful with lots of broth for dipping your bread. Try out the clams and chorizo as well. Plenty of dipping broth there as well or just sip with a straw...lol. Highly recommended and will be back there again soon to try out the seafood mixed grill. read more

One of the worst bar experiences to be had. Bartender has a major attitude and repeatedly ignores women at the bar and serves men that come in after he has said he will serve you. If you go in as a female with the mentality that a man will have all conversations at the bar, you will be fine. Also, wine was skunked and he got a huge attitude about that.
