Drinks menu. Sat night 2022-08-13

Coming here is more for the novelty and the slight secrecy around going to a hidden bar within a restaurant. I didn't love the drink we got and it was a little overpriced, but it was a fun experience. RESERVATIONS Even though reservations were full online for Saturday evening, they do have five walk-in spots, which Fiorella can actually reserve for you. So when we got to Fiorella at 5:15pm for dinner, they put our name down for 2 spots at Bar Nonnina at 6:45pm. We finished dinner a little late, around 6:55pm, and there weren't spots yet available for us for 10 minutes. They felt bad for the wait and gave us free pre-mixed cocktails! That was very nice, although to be honest the cocktails weren't very good (too strong, not many interesting flavors). THE COST $21.42 total including tips for one drink. THE SERVICE The bartenders were friendly, we had a nice chat with them. It's hard not to, it's a small intimate space, and we were seated at the bar. * Battle of Ivrea ($16) - 3.5 stars Too strong for me. My partner enjoyed this but it wasn't his favorite drink.

I had high hopes for this spot after reading articles about its opening a few months ago. Sadly, Nonnina was a disappointment and no different than what most reviews claim about this bar. We were so happy to get a standing spot as a walk-in on a Friday evening at prime time, and made our way upstairs after our meal at Fiorella. We were given a welcome drink (can't remember what was inside it), which was a nice surprise, however things went south from there. I asked the bartender if the Slushy di Moderna was sweet and he advised that it wouldn't be, so I ordered it. Unfortunately, the cocktail was too sweet for my palette. My boyfriend ordered the Battle of Ivrea, which was better (I ended up drinking his). The bar itself is nothing special - just a storage room turned into a speakeasy with seating for ~14 people. But more upsetting is that the service in this intimate space was just awful! Even though we were standing right in front of the bartender, not once did he check in on us and how we liked our $16 drinks. We had to proactively ask for things like water and the check, even though there was a server standing alongside the bartender the entire time. Overall, not worth the hype until the service quality is fixed!

So grateful to finally have a high-quality cocktail bar in the Sunset district! The cocktails here are well thought-out, beautifully crafted, and absolutely delicious! The bartender was fun to chat with and explained all about what went into each drink. Plus, I appreciated that I could order some small bites to go with the drinks. I saw some of the negative reviews of this place based on the reservation system and the tiny standing-room-only space. I do agree that the small space is not ideal, but given what they have to work with, I understand the need for a reservation deposit.

Absolutely loved this spot. This speakeasy is super small but the ambiance and drinks are amazing. Ambiance is really cool/interesting in that there's only 2 tables and you can easily talk to the bartender about your drinks. The bartender was really chill and whipped up some insane cocktails. My favorite was the l'ombra which was chocolate yet refreshing at the same time. It was such an interesting flavor profile that was overall so smooth. We also had the scorpionno which was more of a desert drink. It had aperol spritz sorbet floating on top of the drink. The hostess at the restaurant downstairs also gave us a drink to sip on while we wait, which was really nice and inviting.

Galileo's Gaze (in focus) and a tequila cocktail I forgot the name of
Marianne 'Mare' G.

So the cocktails and food are incredible; however this place is a little inaccessible as it is high table standing options only and there are no seats. One suggestion I might make is to have the option to have a bar stool available to make the experience more ADA-friendly. Other than that, great place with great drinks, food, and atmosphere!

This bar is very intimate! Its standing room only, so be cautious if you need a seat! It was a cute experience. I went with my boyfriend and we chatted it up with another couple who was at the same table. We tried all of the cocktails, and my favorite was the Scorppino & my bf's was the Galileo's Gaze. Scorppino is a dessert cocktail that has lemon sorbet, it was delicious! The small plates were good as well. We had the oysters and the focaccia. Cute for date night, and to finish it off we went downstairs to have real dinner at Fiorella. Service was great, and the bartender was nice. I'd recommend for a small gathering!

Interesting idea! Small, cozy space where people can stand next to each other, interact and enjoy a cocktail and snacks.

Welcome cocktail

What a fun surprise: a hidden speakeasy tucked away above a restaurant in the Inner Sunset! Things started off great. We were greeted with a welcome cocktail, which was a nice little treat. Our group of 3 was led through the restaurant, up a stairwell and into a small, hidden bar area. Tiny, but beautiful. I ordered the cocktail flight, and my friends tried to as well but were told they couldn't because the other group next to us had and there weren't enough glasses in the bar....ok.... Drink change: they ordered the Wild Pony and South of Heaven and we also ordered a few appetizers. Everything we ordered was delicious, but we only stayed for one round of drinks because we quickly realized that the bartender that we were trapped inside this tiny room with was incredibly rude. It ruined the whole experience. Snapping at the server and rude comments at every interaction with us. It was uncomfortable and we couldn't leave fast enough. No, thanks.

I wanted to surprise my boyfriend with a new spot on his birthday. We were not disappointed, we had excellent service, the croquettes and foccicia were outstanding. The bartender was amazing, it was a great experience.

I liked the cardamom in the Beauty Mark as well that my partner ordered. We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

It takes a lot for me to consider a return visit to a cocktail bar. Most of the time, I just begrudgingly go along with my friends to a mediocre bar, but Blind Pig is a place I would enthusiastically return to again and again. I first got the namesake cocktail: Blind Pig. It was incredibly well-balanced, and the flame presentation upon arrival was an epic mini show. Later during last call, I decided to risk it all and roll the dice to order from the secret menu. I rolled a 5, which got me a wine & Japanese beer concoction with Sichuan peppercorn. Totally feel like this cocktail was made for me, as I rep the 川渝 region. The drink was strong, but that made it all the better. Stiff yet easy to drink. The manager/bartender, Leo was awesome with great hospitality. Background lounge-y music is not too loud so you can yap and catch-up with friends. We came in hungry and left very happy, especially with the duck‑fat fries, smash burger, chicken and waffles, and fried chicken sandwich. The duck‑fat fries are rich and perfectly crispy, tossed in duck fat "snow" and served with a killer house‑made. The smash burger is juicy, salty, and charred just right, making it an easy repeat‑order any time of day. Really enjoyed the pickles it came with to cut the fat. Their chicken and waffles are a must‑try for brunch: perfectly crispy buttermilk fried chicken on top of a fluffy, buttery waffle, with sweet maple‑style syrup tying everything together. And the fried chicken sandwich is good, with a nicely balanced crunch and crispy milk bread. Overall, Horsefeather is a fun, casual neighborhood bar and restaurant that nails brunch. I'll definitely be back for more duck‑fat fries and their chicken dishes the next time I'm in the Nopa area

The miso linguine was a bit of a let down. There was nothing wrong with it, but I couldn't taste any miso or added umami. It was like a solid butter noodle dish. Very minimal toppings of spinach and tomato as well. Bf got the Korean fried chicken burger which actually was quite good! Better than the noodles. The side salad was a bit oddly salty, but the pickles and burger itself were both well seasoned and yummy. Complimentary dessert was very very kind. Yuka fries, ceviche clasico, carne asana tacos, al pastor tacos. The chips were solidly crisp, crunchy, and paired very well with the ceviche. The carne asana tacos with the salsa macha was juicy and perfectly done, and my favorite small bite of the night.. The Yuka fries were perfectly salted and the aioli dip was exactly what you'd want out of fries. My friends recommended the Kiwi and I found it refreshing, almost like a drink you'd have at a spa or so. I also tried the Oaxacan, which was styled like an old fashioned. My favorite was the watermelon and guava. I would definitely come back for the drinks. I didn't enjoy the food, and here's where it went wrong. We first got our chips and salsa. The chips are seasoned like Doritos so there's a nice flavor but the seasoning is in consistent. Some pieces were SO salty and some had no seasoning. The salsa is pretty rich as well. When our ceviche came, I ate a bite without the seafood and it tasted fishy. When I tried the actual seafood part, I knew it went bad because it had such a strong odor. We had to send it back but saw them serving it to other people. I eat a lot of seafood and I don't mind a slight fishy taste but this was definitely a food poisoning situation. After that it took a very very long time to get our last dish. Unfortunately when it finally came out, it was a disappointment. The octopus texture tasted like it had freezer burn, then was over cooked, sat too long after it was cooked because they had to make the fries. The fries were fresh but the octopus was dry, cold, hard, and chewy. I've had lots of pulpo before and this was a let down. It was a bummer that we didn't get to eat much and decided to walk somewhere else to finish dinner.
