Bar has been so helpful and friendly to both me and my dog Kuma! My 4 yr old dog struggles with reactivity and separation anxiety, and we've been making progress already after only two sessions! During our sessions he makes sure my dog is taken care of and he gets breaks when needed. He understands my dog and meets him where he is at. He really shows his expertise and brings out the best in my dog. Bar has also given me great advice on how to properly continue training while I'm at home and we look forward to doing more sessions. I can now say I feel hopeful for both me and my dog and I'm glad I chose Bar as our trainer!

Where do I begin ? I guess from the top ! So my puppy (Australian Shepard) was definitely a handful that I didn't know exactly what to do with! He used to be impossible on leash and easily distracted by life! Then I met Bar, and let me tell you he changed his life and our whole family's lives. Our sweet puppy now listens to commands , walks on a leash like a champion, and is always eager to learn more things now ! Bar was always kind, quick to respond , helpful and patient, and truely a dog whisperer ! I am so happy we found him and will continue to give him our everlasting thanks ! If you need just training or just a pure puppy intervention this is your guy ! Thank You Bar for your support and kindness !

Bar is extremely patient and we have had a terrific experience at Bar K9 Training! Choosing a trainer, especially one who will be boarding your dog for several weeks, is no easy task. We interviewed a few trainers for our dog Enzo, and settled on Bar after we met him. It just felt right once we met and talked through the process and his approach. Once we met with Bar, we knew he would be the right choice. Enzo clearly enjoyed learning his new skills with Bar. We are still working on reinforcing, and it is great being able to come back to do the follow-up appointments with Bar. We recommend Bar highly!

The board and training for our 7 month old Shepard was just what we needed. Logan gained so much confidence from this training. He is a shy timid pup and has shown so much improvement, to the point that he now potty's on his daily walks. Some of our concerns with Logan was crate training, leash pulling, and human/dog socialization. He now is calm and associates the crate with his own positive space to sleep/relax. It has also helped on our walks, he keeps constant eye contact with us. Bar is a great trainer, we definitely recommend him! We felt at ease knowing that Logan was in good hands.

Bennett loves Bar!
Angela C.

I sent my 5-month-old Dalmatian puppy to Bar's board and train program, and the results have been fantastic. Bennett came home with strong foundational obedience skills and is now so much more responsive to verbal commands. Bar was wonderful with Bennett! When I went in for my first training session after not seeing him for three weeks, I expected Bennett to want to come home with me right away. He was definitely happy to see me, but what stood out most was how easily he also followed Bar back inside to finish out his program. It was such a clear sign that he trusted and felt safe with him. Bar is also just a really kind and thoughtful person. He speaks gently with the dogs and truly treats them like his own. With all the fun he was having, Bennett was hungrier than usual during camp, so Bar even gave him some of his own dog's food to supplement. That level of care really stood out. Overall, Bar is a compassionate, skilled, and trustworthy trainer. Bennett came home more confident and well-behaved, and I feel much more equipped to continue his training thanks to Bar's guidance. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a dedicated and loving trainer!

Want to just cheer Bar and the amazing training he does. Our pups are now friendly, confident and are now human whisperers. Look at them in place!

My experience with Bar and training my 7 month puppy was amazing! I can tell there was a lot of dedication in training him and they connected really well. My puppy was in a board and train program and communication throughout the process was very good, keeping me updated throughout. The sessions included were full of value. Everyone in the house was comfortable with the commands and understanding the training our puppy was receiving. I really love that I feel that I can come to the trainer for any questions or concerns about the continuation of my puppy's training. I would definitely recommend Bar K9 Training to anyone interested in improving your relationship with your pup!!

Bar and Jelly Bernadoodle
Tina S.

Our 11 month Bernadoodle Jelly was in need of training on socialization with people, dogs and to gain more confidence in herself. My fiancé and I had tried other trainers and even reached out to our breeder for guidance as were first time pet owners. No matter what we tried things weren't working. We reached out to Bar based off the positive reviews and after us inquiring more information, Bar promptly responded and after our conversation we knew we wanted to give Jelly another opportunity. Bar is very polite, knowledge and patient. You can see the passion Bar has for his job and for the dogs. During our first visit, Jelly was comfortable with Bar which my fiancé and I were surprised from her meeting someone for the first time this wasn't her normal reaction. At that point, we knew we picked the right person for Jelly. This was the best thing we could've done for all of us. Jelly, made great strides in her training seeing her play with other dogs, not being so scared and more confident was a blessing in itself. Jelly has grown fond of Bar as she whimpered when it was time to leave the ranch and come home. Every time she sees him she gets excited on random visits. Thanks to Bar for making this a positive experience for Jelly bringing out the best in her. We're on a new path with her but couldn't have gotten this far without the right person providing training, guidance and feedback. This is now Jelly's home away from home, in times we need to board her, we know she is well taken care of and is with someone she trusts and has fun with.

I can't thank Bar enough for the incredible work with my 2 year old Goldendoodle. I always regretted not sending him to training when he was just a puppy, and many people told me it's too late now. From the very first phone call with Bar, I felt that my dog would be in the best hands, and I was right. He came back home well trained, well behaved, confident, and happier than ever. I can see the love he got Bar truly works magic with dogs, and I couldn't recommend him more!

Bar and the F family minus poppa F.

Bar is extremely professional. From the initial contact through to the last training session, he has super helpful, pleasant, and accommodating. Our 9 month old Havenese needed consistent training which we were not able to provide at home. We reached out to several trainers including ones closer to us but went with Bar due to his prompt responses, professionalism, and competitive pricing. 4 week course with 2 visits and then 4 training sessions. Our pup came back much better than when be left. He heels, places, sits, down. We can now walk him off leash without fear of him running off. You can also tell Bar cares for the dogs. When we went back for our training sessions are pup was so excited to see Bar. If Bar didn't care, if he treated the dogs differently than he did, I doubt our pup would have missed him. Highly recommend!

I can't recommend Bar enough!! As a recent rescue from the shelter, Pringle struggled with separation anxiety and socializing with other dogs. Bar listened to my concerns and tailored Pringle's board and train program to her needs. By the end of the program, Pringle was crate trained, leash trained, less reactive, and more obedient. It's clear that he genuinely cares about dogs and is incredibly knowledgeable in his approach to training. Working with Bar was an extremely pleasant experience. He is a very kind, dedicated, and professional trainer. He patiently answered all my questions and even provided recommendations on training tools and various dog supplies. Thanks to his guidance, I feel more confident on walks and more equipped to continue her training at home. I'm beyond grateful that I stumbled upon his Yelp page. I can tell that Pringle formed a strong bond with Bar and genuinely enjoyed her time with him. That's why I'll continue to rely on him for her future training and boarding needs. I trust him completely and know she's in the best hands possible.

Bar is absolutely amazing! I spent a lot of time researching trainers and programs for my 6-month-old Boxer, Pete, and as soon as I met Bar, I knew he was the perfect fit. He took the time during our initial consultation to explain everything clearly, patiently answered all of my (many!) questions, and immediately made me feel confident in trusting him with Pete. Although I was a little hesitant about being away from my pup for four weeks, Bar made the entire board-and-train experience so reassuring. It was such a relief to see how genuinely happy Pete was every time he saw Bar, even after the program ended. That bond spoke volumes. Throughout the training process, Bar was professional, communicative, and genuinely cared about Pete's progress and well-being. He equipped both of us with the tools and confidence we needed, and I've seen such a positive change in Pete's behavior and responsiveness. If you're looking for someone who is knowledgeable, passionate, and truly committed to helping you and your dog succeed, I can't recommend Bar enough. I'm so grateful we found him!

10/10 Recommend Bars training! I took my handsome boy for the 4 week program and I couldn't be happier! I live on a big ranch with lots of farm animals and people visiting their horses so having better control over him was a must. Ranger wasn't the biggest fan of new faces, he would tend to nip if people tried to pet him and he liked to chase chickens a lot. I was worried I would have to stop taking him outside with me but now that bar has taught him to recall and remain by my side I no longer fear of him snapping or having to babysit him. Ranger is very sharp now and has a new level of respect for my commands. Thank you for everything bar

In addition, she supplements the lessons by sending emails with articles and further written guidance so that the client has the tools to continually reinforce what they are learning. Highly recommend Deborah if you are having any behavioral issues with your dog, or want basic obedience training. Thank you, Deborah!

This review is long, and prior to this event, I already had disappointing experiences a year ago…read more I tried to attend barn hunt on a few occasions, and unfortunately every time I have tried to come out the trainer ends up canceling an hour before the class is supposed to start. If you've seen their schedules, they only offer classes during weekday afternoons, which means traffic hour. After a few failed attempts, I gave up trying to attend their classes. I decided to give them a second try for Fast Cat, and assumed because it was a sports event it would be different. So, I Invited two friends to come along, who participated with their dogs. All 3 of us were really hyped and looking forward this weekend. However, after the first run we were all extremely disappointed and frustrated. If you've ever attended fast cat, normally you walk down the fence while the releaser holds your dog. This allows you to hype your dog up as you go down, and they're able to see the direction you're walking towards. so by the time you're in position to receive, your dog runs straight to you as they chase the bunny. Their set up was completely different, you leave your dog with the releaser in line, and make your way around parked cars, their agility fenced off area, trees and more. So your dog doesn't really see where you're headed. On my first trial, I got DQd for not being loud enough. My dog didn't see where I was, and screaming over barking dogs that were standing so close to where my dog was, wasn't helpful at all. Then my dog nudged the door, which easily popped open. She got out, thankfully recalled back to my friend. 2nd friend , has me release her dog, he almost got out because the door wasn't closed properly. I wasn't told what to do, I was yelled instructions. My friend's dog didn't want to run, so I was yelled to run him down. This wasn't an issue, but it would have been nice if my dog got run down as well instead of automatically DQing us... I guess it wouldn't have mattered, because she easily popped opened that door. 3rd person in our group goes, and gets DQd because they said he wasn't in the waiting line to receive, yet he had been there for a little over 5 mins. I didn't want to run a second time, but after seeing our friend's dog (who I ran down with) have a good time for his second trial, I thought maybe a second time would be different. This time, the instructor yelled at my friend and asked her what she was planning to do differently this time (since my dog ran out the first trial). It was her first time releasing, as it was our other friend who had previously released my dog. The instructor decides to go in with my friend to show her how to release my dog. Because she did this, no one was at the door to secure it, my dog got out AGAIN. People began chasing my dog and thankfully stopped when she ran back to my car. (I know they were trying to help) The poor excuse of a door that they use is a flimsy dog gate. My dog is 15lbs and easily nudged the door with her nose and it popped open both times. I'm really surprised that no other dog got out, it's not my first fast cat but it was the first fast cat for my dog. No one apologized for not having secured the door right, no one asked if my dog was ok. Instead I was told I should come out to their Dash Dog classes. Why on earth would I want to come back here after the horrible experience I went through? Just to give them money to yell at me, and blame me for my dog getting out of THEIR set-up, that isn't secure at all? On my way out, I got yelled at again "drive slow, your dog got out twice and could have been killed" I WAS driving slow. Thankfully nothing bad happened to my dog, thankfully no other dog figured out how easily it is to open their door. I did see a lot of dogs have a blast, and it was obvious they've done the sport before. Other first timers didn't get DQd right away and we're encouraged to run their dogs down to learn the sport. I would have loved to have been treated equally that way, but unfortunately it wasn't the case. I've tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt many times, I truly wanted to enjoy today and instead I'm simply counting my blessings that my dog wasn't killed or hurt in anyway way. If they improved their attitude and customer service, I think this place would be amazing.
