I had every intention of taking good pictures tonight, but the only photo I ended up with was an empty plate -- and honestly, that might be the best review I can give. We started with the dumplings and ahi tacos, and both were outstanding. Every dish felt especially intentional -- not just the presentation, but in the way the flavors were built. Nothing felt random or overdone. Everything was thoughtful, balanced, and genuinely delicious. But the real showstopper was the El Jefe tacos. These were made with wagyu steak, and then topped off with bone marrow that you scrape onto the tacos yourself, which took them to another level entirely. Rich, savory, decadent, and completely unforgettable -- easily the most insane tacos I have ever had. We finished with the lilikoi crème brûlée, which was the perfect ending to the meal -- creamy, bright, and memorable without being overly heavy. The ambience made the whole experience even better. Bar Dojo has such a cozy, welcoming feel inside -- warm, intimate, and comfortable without feeling too formal. It's the kind of place that feels nice enough for a special dinner, but still relaxed enough that you can actually settle in and enjoy yourself. HUGE credit to Chef Luis Brambila and the team at Bar Dojo. The whole meal felt creative, intentional, and executed with serious skill. The fact that my only picture is an empty plate should tell the whole story -- the food was just too good to wait. Don't let your taste buds miss out! Seriously go order some El Jefe Tacos, you won't regret it! read more

After hearing such good things about this restaurant, I was excited to try it. We came around 7pm on Saturday night, it was somewhat busy but no one waited more than a couple minutes to be seated. The atmosphere was lovely and the menu looked great. We were seated and waited some time for water and menus...no big deal. A "complimentary" edamame was brought to our table. The waitress came over and did not introduce herself, just took our order...again, no big deal. The food was delicious. After we finished, we sat and waited for 5-10 minuted before the waitress came to clear our plates. Meanwhile, she's clearing other tables, and filling wine for other patrons, but most of the time, not in the room. FIFTEEN minuted passed before she brought our check, all the while, passing us multiple times while clearing tables and putting menus away. It was like she was completely ignoring us. She was quite attentive to the ONE other table that she was serving, and to cleaning, but not to us. We had to flag her down to finally get our check. And then, to top it off, there was a charge on the bill for the edamame that was brought to us. I've been to plenty of restaurants that bring a small plate as you're seated, but I've never been charged. Our experience would've been fine had it not been for such a long wait just to get our check, being ignored, and the charge for something that is usually complementary. I'm not sure if I'll be returning. read more

This place is effing amazing. I should've wrote this review immediately after but here I am now. This was our first time coming to Bar Dojo. I went here with my partner for our 1 year anniversary. They treated us so well. A group overheard that it was our anniversary so they sent over a bottle of wine. Free anything is always great. Me being the safe black man that I am, decided not to drink any alcohol because there's always a fear of police pulling me over and finding myself on the ground because they smelled alcohol on my breath. So the waiter, totally forgot his name but he was great, offered me a virgin mojito on the house. That's love right there. We ordered the edamame, scallop papaya salad, black cod kasuzuke, califlower, and salt and pepper calamari. I'm sure we're forgetting something else. When I tell you EVERYTHING! was amazing, boy was it effing delicious. That cod tastes like I was eating butter from the GAWDS! Fish ain't supposed to be that damn good. Those scallops!!! Man I'd come back here by my own damn self. Last thing we got was a creme brulee. Guess what? It was on the house and it was effing huge. Taste like sex in your mouth. TRUST!! that I will be back here fasho. I love this place. Definitely rivals our favorite restaurant, Indigo Ale House. read more

I recently dined at Bar Dojo in Edmonds, and I must say, it was an incredible experience! We started our meal with the Mole Ramen, which was a delightful twist on the traditional dish. The rich mole sauce added a unique depth of flavor that made each slurp enjoyable. We also tried the Cucumber Salad, which was refreshing and perfectly balanced, providing a nice contrast to the hearty ramen. The Pot Stickers were another highlight--crispy on the outside and packed with flavor on the inside. My wife opted for the Pear Salad, which was beautifully presented and bursting with fresh flavors. It paired wonderfully with my dishes. To top off our meal, we shared the Almond Cake for dessert. It was light, moist, and the perfect sweet ending to our dining experience. Overall, everything we had was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. Bar Dojo is definitely a gem in Edmonds, and I can't wait to return to explore more of their creative menu! Highly recommend it! read more

What an unexpected delight! Tucked away in a humble strip mall is this little slice of heaven. The food is nothing short of BEAUTIFUL -- each dish is a true work of art. The small plates are not only delicious but also pack a punch of flavor that's complemented by an equally amazing bar menu. The service is top-notch, living up to the highest standards, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We opted for The Dojo Board, a brilliant choice to sample various menu items. From the Pork Belly Bowl to the Miso Avocado Salad and the Almond Cake, everything was a symphony of flavors that left us craving more. Bar Dojo, aptly named "the place of the way," lives up to its name with excellent and innovative food. It's a hidden gem that deserves to be uncovered by anyone in search of a culinary experience that goes beyond the ordinary. Highly recommend trying their unique offerings! read more

4.5 stars! As an Asian, I'm usually skeptical about Asian fusion, but some of the dishes at this place are legit. The service was great. We didn't have a reservation, and it was busy, but the server went out of their way to fit us in. The highlight of our meal was the Ube flan. It was so good, and I loved the eggy aroma, though I didn't really taste the ube in the flan. The Spicy Bulgogi Beef Rice Bowl was also tasty, but the beef could have been softer, it was a bit tough. The ahi poke taco was delicious and brought back memories of Hawaii. The salted pepper calamari was crunchy, but a too salty like they were over seasoned. The Summer Bonsai drink was tasty and refreshing. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'm looking forward to going back to try their brunch menu read more

I had an amazing experience at Bar Dojo in Edmonds! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The cocktails were fantastic - expertly crafted and full of flavor. The food was equally impressive! Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with fresh ingredients. The flavors were bold, and everything was cooked to perfection. Whether you're here for a casual drink or a full meal, Bar Dojo does not disappoint. The ambiance was great for both a night out with friends or a relaxed dinner. I will definitely be coming back to enjoy more of their delicious food and drinks. Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area read more

I think this is the best restaurant in Edmonds. I'm not sure if that's saying much so let me take it further. It's one of my favorite restaurants in general. It should be in a foody area like in downtown seattle or Ballard The service has been good every time I've gone. The GM was very nice and represented the restaurant well. Now let's talk about the food. I love the asian fusion. Everything I've had so far has been great. The fried baby Octopus and poke crab avocado bowl were heavenly. My only criticisms are I wish they had a couple lighter options on the menu and I wish it was little cheaper. But I'm still giving it 5 stars. read more

Delicious food, friendly service and a sophisticated--yet cozy--environment. Equally comfortable for both romantic dates and family gatherings. It's a true neighborhood restaurant. Cannot get enough of the tempura avocado (why didn't I think of that?!), noodle soups, decadent desserts (I dream about the chocolate mousse I had) and the original cocktail list. A pleasant surprise too was the wine list. The owner put it together himself and really knows each and every wine. So fun - since I know nothing about wine - to be able to vaguely describe what I'm in the mood for and have him always recommend just the right glass. Worth every penny. read more

After speaking with the owner, we were welcomed back and offered a very nice gift card to come in for dinner. Experience was above and beyond, service was absolutely amazing, food was exceptional. I'm really glad they reached out and we gave them another try. I would highly recommend them to anyone after our second experience and will definitely be returning with my family. We tried almost one of everything including all of their desserts. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Edmonds and surrounding neighborhoods. Thank you guys for the lovely hospitality and flavorful meal! read more

What a delightful and tasteful atmosphere! Not cluttered but cozy and warm. The flavor and the depth of the food is fabulous...a new take on some great dishes. As mentioned before the service was excellent and the owners make sure everyone is well-taken care of and greet everyone. A nice touch! I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a great addition to Edmonds and bring our friends next time. read more

Amazing brunch spot with a refreshing Asian twist! Loved the unique flavor combinations -- the yuzu hollandaise on the crab Benedict was bright and tangy, potatoes were amazing, seriously the best I've had! The lilikoi crème brûlée was a delicious and refreshing finish. Can't wait to go back! read more

We went here the other night it was really good. I was surprised because of its location, it didn't look like anything special. Good service and good food. A little expensive for what it was though. Overall pretty good! read more

Been here several times during its first year (before I relocated abroad for college) and received great food and prompt service every time. Always a pleasure and looking forward to going back soon! read more
