This was a great little date spot to find. We were able to sit at the bar but I highly recommend a reservation if you are looking to eat at a particular time. The menu selection is minimal but has a options for any diet type. The location was very clean and overall the atmosphere was relaxing. So long as you are not in a rush I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice date night out. read more

Amazing food and they have a nice service of customer care and great conversations. Good state

Great place to have lunch,. So quiet on a Saturday afternoon. There were only 2 other tables with patrons. And no loud kids. It was great. Lots of Vegan options and things for the meat eaters. The service was excellent and it was a great place to catch up with my friend I hadn't seen in like 6 years. I ordered the Miso Carrot salad and the Birria Ramen. It was tasty and loved the Soft Boiled eggs. They have excellent coffee, oat milk and also a full bar. I will be coming back again. read more

It took me way too long to finally eat at Bar Dojo. I came in for brunch and wish I have a bigger stomach. My friend and I shared all of the entrees ordered. The churros Chinese donut is a genius idea. It was yummy -- it had caramel, sugar and powdered sugar on it. I think they could've let one of those toppings go as it was very sugary. The pork XLB was delicious & flavorful but lacked soup and half were also torn. It was still good though along with the sauce it came with. The smash burger was pretty good too and the truffle nori fries were addicting. I'll have to come back to try the seafood & sashimi/poke dishes as my friend has dietary restrictions. The restaurant is a lot smaller than I expected. It was a busy Sunday so I suggest making reservations during prime hours. read more

What a great hidden gem in Edmonds! I love all the beautifully curated dishes that are packed full of flavor. Service is amazing, but be sure to make a reservation as it does get busy and it is a small restaurant! You can take a peek at all the food we got below but the ones we will be dreaming about forever are- - Guava churro cheesecake: it was so good that we had to take one to go, we NEVER get dessert but they convinced us to and it was soooo good - Gochujang chicken wings: so good, crisp, and flavorful. I am so picky about my wings but these were perfection - Al pastor bao - so delicious and the perfect size We LOVED everything though, you cannot go wrong with anything on this menu. read more

Still my favorite restaurant in the area. Delicious & creative offerings and cozy and intimate atmosphere.

This restaurant in a small strip mall in Edmonds surpassed my expectations with creative, innovative and plant friendly food. We stopped in for brunch on a Saturday. The place was almost full but didn't seem hectic - we had made a reservation and were seated right away. I had the ube horchata which was beautiful, sweet and satisfying. I also had the pandan chicken and waffles special. The honey walnut chicken was fried in a way that felt airy and light and the waffles were super satisfying, Elphaba levels of green, and topped with pickled strawberries and miso syrup. So good! My spouse had the tofu mushroom bowl which substantial, spicy, and satisfying. Service was friendly and quick. Can't wait o go back and try other menu options. read more

Located in Edmonds, this is an upscale Asian fusion restaurant that looks unassuming on the outside but serves up some decent dishes inside. I went here with a friend, and just in case, we made a reservation for 7:30pm since that was the earliest spot we could get at 5pm, but we were still able to be seated at 7pm. We tried 2 cocktails - Shiso Lovely and Ube Rumchata, as well as a variety of dishes such as birria egg rolls, ahi poke tacos, filet tataki aguachile, and guava churro cheesecake. Overall, the food is okay but could be better for the price. Shiso Lovely was gin based drink with shiso but I honestly felt like the drink was watered down. The Ube Rumchata was fairly aesthetic and has a nice sweetness from the horchata and ample flavor from the ube. The birria egg rolls were good and fairly filling, but I expected more than just 4 half pieces. The consomme they serve was decent but from a reference point, I have had better. The ahi poke tacos are one of their best sellers so we tried that, but it was a little underwhelming from the tuna quality and the wonton is a little soggy. The filet tataki aguachile had a nice balance of spicy, savory, and tangy; it is one of their rotating specialties. I love that they prepared the dish medium rare. The guava churro cheesecake topped off the meal on a good note. The guava filling is slightly caramelized and the cheesecake is fairly hearty, perfect for splitting. read more

We went by Bar Dojo for dinner on a Wednesday night. I made reservations through OpenTable 2 days prior, but it wasn't too busy this night. I would say the type of food they serve doesn't really match the ambience of the restaurant if that makes sense? It felt a very Edmonds restaurant inside. We ordered: -Birria eggrolls - pork belly nachos - Dojo Board - almond cake - guava cheesecake - lilikoi creme brulee The birria eggrolls were our least favorite, the sauce didn't stick to the eggroll that well. The pork belly nachos were cheesy and had good flavor. 4 of us shared the Dojo Board, and we polished it clean. I think the board was $125 or so. We all had different reviews of the desserts, but they were all good. This place is on the pricey side, but the food was good. read more

I thought I had already written a review for this fantastic restaurant but I hadn't. The food is delicious! And there are excellent vegan options! I've never been so excited and delightfully impressed after trying a hole in the wall restaurant. This small and unassuming joint has an impressive menu packed with pan Asian creations and complimentary flavors. Bar Dojo is a local fav and left me wanting more. Make a reservation. They have a small parking lot and nearby street parking. Pros: everything was a pro but these stood out and make this place different from others. - Full plant based menu that's as impressive as the rest of their offerings! - Mocktails (Winter in Bloom and Winter Shrub) might have been more amazing than the very impressive cocktails! (Loved the refreshing Dojo 76 cocktail!) - oysters- FRESH and left me wanting more and will keep me coming back! - I want everything on the menu, like EVERYTHING! - friendly and efficient service, especially impressive bc it's such a busy place. Food for thought: -ahi poke tacos are generously mounded, perfect for sharing. - my tastebuds were going crazy for the tofu mushroom bowl. Add the avocado rice for added pizazz! - aguachile oysters - my only regret was ordering 1 for myself. I could have eaten a platter. I can finally confirm the hype of Bar Dojo. I need to go back and everyone needs to go here now! read more

I've been to Bar Dojo several times for dinner and I've always had a great experience. They have a wide variety of unique menu items and everything I've ordered was delicious. Today, we experienced their brunch and I am already itching to go back. They had so many different things on the menu I wanted to try but today we got the Smash Burger, Ube French Toast and Salt & Pepper Shrimp Congee. The Congee truly stole the show. It was like a breakfast ramen with an umami bomb of flavors, dipping the savory donut in the congee with the chili oil + topped with a fried egg (chef's kiss!). You can't go wrong! We made a reservation and got seated right away but on a Saturday at 1130am during prime time brunch hour I was surprised it wasn't more packed. Highly recommend coming in during this time, always make a reservation just to be safe! Overall, Bar Dojo is truly a hidden gem in Edmonds and you can't go wrong ordering anything on the menu. We visited the Seattle area this past week and were staying in the Edmonds area, Bar Dojo was highly rated on Yelp and I am pretty much always down for some Asian Fusion, so it was any easy choice to grab dinner! In an unassuming strip mall, the restaurant is quaint with a small bar area and ample tables. We were seated right away upon arrival Thursday evening. The restaurant overall has a simple vibe, but makes up for it in their menu offerings. Service was lovely. We had full water glasses and a water carafe immediately upon being seated, always appreciated. No paper menus, just QR codes here and a small paper menu of the daily specials. The server greeted us promptly and gave up ample time to view the menu! The menu had a great variety of things from bowls, tacos, loaded fries to ramen. We opted for the pork belly bowl and spicy bulgogi bowl. Both bowls presentation were beautiful. Great veggies and flavor overall. The spicy bulgogi was significantly better with more flavor, while the pork belly lacked a sauce or additional element. The bowls were nearly identical in ingredients though. After three bowls, with water, the total after tip came to about $100. It felt a bit steep personally. I may return again, as enjoyed the food, but not sure the value is totally there, but would be interested in checking out their happy hour or some other offerings if I was in the area. read more

I went back to try Bar Dojo and found it true that I was there on an off night. Everything we had was great (although we had beer rather than cocktails so I can only speak to a couple dishes and dessert). The tofu and mushrooms dish came out nice and hot and had plenty of flavor without overdoing the salt. I would definitely get this again. The coconut prawns was a small but mighty dish with a punch of flavor and delicate sweetness that worked very well. The passionfruit cheesecake was decent although may a tad sweet by my standards (compared to the richness a cheesecake should have rather than sweetness), but I loved the "pop" of the passionfruit balls so much. Bottom line: I had a great experience and now see why this place has good reviews. Service was great and the food was great. I'm glad I returned to see how they can deliver! read more

Popped in just in time for happy hour. Got the ube horchata (great), cucumber salad, birria bao, and chicken satay. Went here for Seattle restaurant week and we got there right when they opened at 4pm on a Sunday and by the time we left it was packed. They seated us at the bar immediately as they said they were pretty booked with reservations which I was happy with especially since we were only a group of 2. The space was decent and seemed clean and has good parking. Overall I thought the food was decent and probs pretty good for Edmonds but I wasn't impressed. The service was very nice and friendly, I felt like a bit slow. I had to ask about our oysters bc we had already gotten our appetizers and main and we still hadn't gotten our oysters even though we ordered everything at the same time. I didn't mind but I found it odd that something uncooked came after stuff that was cooked and I feel like usually oysters are an appetizer? The food was all decent but there weren't any stand out dishes for me. The mousse was good and the Mexican chocolate made it extra tasty. The oysters were very small and the sauce was good but idk if it's worth the up charge and I might just enjoy a classic mignonette especially at the price, 6 an oyster. The salmon wontons were fine, I felt like the fried dumplings were just okay. The dumplings itself was mid, didn't feel like too much flavor, and it relied really heavily on the sauce that it lays on. We both thought the duck kalbi was mid, very chewy, not very crispy, not very flavorful, not bad though. The chicken satay was pretty good though. The pomegranate cocktail was also good. Overall I personally wouldn't come back but if I was randomly in Edmonds and wanted Asian fusion food then maybe. I think this place is a 3.5 but I'll round down as I reserve 4s for places I'd recommend to come back to and I probably would not for this spot read more

Disappointing service, host barely bothered to look up. Asked if we had a reservation, understandable that we would have a wait but he said nothing was available with next to no effort. Said we could sit at the bar - I was clearly with my teenage daughter so not really an option. No other time offered, clearly didn't want to help or be bothered. **Bar Dojo: A Culinary Knockout--But Where Is the Basement Karate Training?** Let's get straight to the point--**Bar Dojo is a triumph of modern Asian cuisine**, a restaurant so finely tuned to the art of flavor balance that every dish **lands with the precision of a black-belt martial arts master**. The food? **Impeccable.** Every bite bursts with perfectly crafted textures and spices, **executed with the kind of skill that could make even a strict dojo sensei nod in approval**. The ambiance? **Stylish, inviting, an effortless blend of warmth and sophistication**. It's the kind of place where you sit down and **immediately trust that something extraordinary is about to happen**, whether it's **a life-changing cocktail** or an **entrée so expertly plated it feels like a work of culinary art**. And yet--**we must confront the mystery that looms over Bar Dojo like an unspoken legend**: **There is no dojo.** None. **Not in the basement, not behind the kitchen, not hidden beneath secret trap doors activated by a perfectly timed high kick.** The name **suggests the presence of martial arts mastery**, a place where one could train in the ancient ways of discipline and combat **before indulging in some exquisite miso-glazed perfection**. But alas, **there are no sparring sessions, no perfectly synchronized kata routines, no students practicing roundhouse kicks in careful unison**. Was this **a deliberate misdirection**? A **bold branding choice** designed to evoke a sense of mystery and intrigue? Elevated, delicious food delivered with fast, friendly service in a cozy, casual dining room. We got several happy hour items which were a great deal! The hoisin cauliflower had a thick, tempura batter with a nice crisp and chew and the cauliflower flavor was mild from their cooking method which allowed the sweet and spicy hoisin to shine. The artichoke hearts were amazing. The crispy panko breading gave way to the creamy hearts inside that were melt in your mouth smooth. It was a fantastic combination of textures. The gojuchang sauce also had a nice sweet and spicy combo with just a hint of tanginess. The edamame dumplings had the strong ginger and garlic flavors but also somehow felt delicate and provided a nice counterbalance to the fried apps. I was convinced that the vegan katsu burger was real meat upon my first bite. The way they cooked the impossible meat by frying it in the breading left it in a "medium rare" state that most vegan burgers you get eating out aren't in. It was topped with perfectly caramelized onions, an excellent creamy vegan cheese, and a great secret sauce. read more

Bar Dojo is definitely one of those places that doesn't try too hard to stand out from the outside--totally unassuming--but once you're inside, it's a whole different story. The vibe is chill yet sophisticated, and you instantly feel like you've stumbled upon a local gem. I sat at the bar (because, let's be real, bar seating always feels more fun), and ordered a couple of appetizers along with a bowl of their noodles. Oh man, those noodles! Perfectly savory, with just the right amount of spice, they hit the spot after a long day of work. The appetizers were also top-tier, with fresh flavors and creative presentation. I'm from out of town, here on business, and this was hands-down one of the best meals I've had on the road. It's one of those places that makes you think, "Yeah, I'd totally come back here again." It's got that kind of vibe where locals know it's a treasure, and visitors--like me--get to experience it and leave planning their next trip back. This place is definitely worth checking out if you're in Edmonds. It is not in the downtown area, so easy parking ;) We had the audacity to show up with no reservation on Mother's Day. The host was incredibly sweet and allowed us to stay before the 6pm reservation shows up. We got lucky! The food took a while to come out but we passed the time taking photos/selfies with the beautiful carnation bouquets on the table. Food: 1. They have a kids menu No complaints heard from them munching down their burgers and fries. 2. Pork belly sliders: be prepared for a good spicy kick. Delicious if you love spicy food! The fries are awesome. And the sauce was my favorite part! 3. Pork belly tacos: good! The sauce was the star again. 4. The passion fruit cheesecake: do not share! You will want it all to yourself. Creamy texture, passion fruit comes through in the cheesecake and in the little balls filled with juicy goodness. This was a winner for me! 5. Pandan creme brûlée: not my favorite. I guess im not a fan of Pandan. But texture wise and the sugar topping were spot on. read more
