This is one of my favorite restaurants in Madison! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and I loved how there were plants incorporated into the decoration, too. I had the gnocchi alla romana (Porcini mushroom cream, truffle oil, Parmigiano Reggiano) and it was TO DIE FOR. The hot olives were also a fun and unique appetizer that delicious but not so much food that it spoiled dinner! I also liked how in the front of the restaurant, you can watch the chefs actually make the noodles. The staff was extremely friendly- I will definitely be back!! read more

My husband and I came here on an impromptu date and were pleasantly surprised to find another gem in the Atwood neighborhood! We ordered the octopus for a starter (see picture) -- And let me tell you: it was DELISH!! We also had a pasta dish and ended our meal with their homemade tiramisu. It was light, moist, creamy and bursting with decadent flavor -- Just like tiramisu should. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere buzzing and delightful -- a place you would expect to find in a larger city like Chicago. They also had many interesting cocktail choices which in my opinion is always a winner! We will definitely be back -- And you should go too :) read more

Great food, ambiance and service! It was one of the few restaurants I visited in the city and I got the green pasta (forgot its name) it was delicious! read more

We went here for the first time yesterday and I'm in love. This is easily my new favorite place in Madison. The atmosphere is awesome - I feel like I'm on vacation somewhere way better than Madison :). On top of that, there's a special vegan menu with several options (not all salads) which is SOO APPRECIATED. I got the Tomato and Vegan Ricotta pizza and it was EXCELLENT. Definitely 10/10 - I'd like to go here at least once a week, but we'll see it's a little far away from us. read more

Hidden gem considering it's a food fight restaurant. Excellent taste and decent portion. I got the mezze maniche and it was delicious. Werk!

One of our favorite restaurants on the east side! Wonderful service, excellent food, great atmosphere. Lovely date night spot!

Service was great and the food was good. Some of our dishes were not as hot as hot as I would have liked. I definitely would recommend any of their pizzas. read more

So good! Food is always amazing & decor is beautiful. Definitely a favorite in Madison.

It was overpriced for everything. There was no parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, water or bread with the meal. A waitress asked if we wanted water, I said no and my husband said yes, so she brought a carafe of water for him that cost $7.00. The food wasn't anything special. We had a couple drinks that were okay. Don't waste your time or money. read more

This date night was the high light of our week. To feel so welcomed and served was a true testament to the highly trained and friendly staff. We had the opportunity to meet the head chef as well. A blessing to have in this neighborhood! read more

We recently went for dinner on a whim and were wowed by the food. The service was also amazing. We will be back!

Enjoyed a terrific Father's Day dinner at Bar Corallini courtesy of my son. First time at BC for both of us. The cocktail menu alone is worth the visit. I'm a Negroni fan and the selection of styles is impressive. Grilled octopus salad was a tasty start to the meal (try it with chili oil) and we each had an amazing pizza followed by several selections of rum for dessert. Pleasant and attentive wait staff in a fun space made the experience extra special. From couples to groups, it seemed every patron had a smile on their face. We love Lombardino's and Cento, but BC is deliciously unique and yet another great reason to visit the Atwood family of eclectic dining venues. Squisito! We'll be back. read more

While I love their MALLOREDDUS It does seem to vary from visit to visit as to how good it is, probably due to different chefs. My biggest complaint though is that they charged me $4 for a few small pieces that also had a lot of air holes. Most Italian and other restaurants provide bread free of charge, particularly so with a pasta and sauce dish. Also, their wine list is very limited and overpriced. For me, there were only two items on the menu that I would order and neither would be the"pizza". read more

Food was good, staff was friendly and service was great. Overall an enjoyable experience

This place is amazing! Definitely the best right finger cavatelli in Madison and the service was great. Also located in such a cute area.

This has become my neighborhood place to go when I don't want to cook since I can just walk over. It is part of a local chain of restaurants. On a recent visit the bartender was extolling the virtues of their training program which does not surprise me as everyone seems really competent. The bartenders are really friendly and seem to remember you after a few visits. Good cocktails. A Negroni on tap if that is your thing. Decent wine selection. The pappardelle with porcini mushroom ragu is so good!! I always intend to leave with leftovers but never do! The rigatoni with Bolognese sauce is excellent as well. The couple of times I had a pizza I thought they were good. My wife always wants to split the kale salad and I enjoy it but I can see how kale is an acquired taste. They had an awesome cacio e pepe that was the only thing my wife would get for an entree but sadly it is gone. If a dish is well received as a special it appears they will add it to the menu as they did with the Calamarata. They have a small parking lot and there is a bunch of on street parking around there as well. read more

WOW! This place is amazing. Ive been told by many friends to try this place and I'm so glad we did. We came in with a guest who was vegan and had multiple food allergies. The chef went above and beyond to stop by our table and make a special meal for him. We were celebrating something special tonight and it was the perfect evening together. Everything was wonderful- from the meal, to the ambiance, service, drinks, and dessert. We will be back!!! Thank you! read more

Service was great, cocktails delicious, and the food could not have been better in our eyes. Can't wait to come back! Highly recommend this appetizer. read more

Bar Corallini - Gnocco Fritto - Bars Near Me - Madison, Wisconsin

Limited space due to COVID but we had a really great experience! The bartender (forgot his name) was extremely nice and helpful. I took all his recommendations for food and drink, and all were remarkable. Authentic Italian dishes with good portion sizes. Can't wait to go back! read more

This place puts Italian culture right into Madison, WI! While visiting the area I was skeptical that I would find engaging cuisine and atmosphere, but Bar Corallini had it all. While I adored the homemade pasta noodle dishes my daughter devoured the pizza. Service and cleanliness were top notch. I can't wait to come back for another visit. read more

Disappointed.....After a good experience at BC, albeit one of the loudest dining experiences in Madison, wait, the loudest dining experience we've had in Madison, we decided to take our good friends out for dinner and requested a table near the back where it appeared quieter. With a 6:15 reservation we were running a few minutes behind. As we passed to park I thought I should get out and get inside and secure our reservation. With traffic on Atwood it took us five minutes to get turned around and parked and we strolled in at 6:25. The guests in front of us took 3-5 minutes and by the time we walked up it was 6:27. When we let the hostess know we were there she looked down, ahemed, talked to her hostess buddy who said something then the woman said, we gave your table away. We texted you and since you didn't return our text we gave your table away. Unreal, nine minutes late and she had given our table away. After some uncomfortable minutes she never apologized, didn't try to help, just said, "we texted, too bad, we can put you on a waiting list." Today's married to your phone mentality, and the smugness of this hostess, will keep us from frequenting this average restaurant that has more hype than it deserves. read more

Enjoyed this place immensely while visiting my sister. The care the chef owner takes in securing THE highest quality ingredients is reflected in every dish. Nice quality wine selection and craft cocktails as well. Well worth a try! read more

We were so pumped when Eat Street added Bar Corallini to our delivery zone. In my honest opinion, I think it's the best delivery food available in Madison. We love the salad/pasta/pizza combo. It's more than enough food for 2 and we usually have left overs. The pepperoni pickled jalapeño pizza is so delicious! Highly recommend this spot. Thanks for taking care of date night during the pandemic! read more

We had curbside pickup for my birthday dinner from Bar Corallini this week. We ordered the Insalata di Cavolo, Rigatoni alla Bolognese, 8 Finger Cavatelli, and Cannoli. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh and the portions were plentiful. We cannot wait to order again! read more

Third times a charm right? Unfortunately, wrong. My first visit two years ago was fabulous and was very excited to return. From then, I have been making excuses for their very poor service, hoping service would be better "the next time". It seemed like it only got worse, and this last time was my last straw spending money here. The service here beside the first time I came to Bar Coralini, is terrible. The waitstaff and bar-staff seem to act like they have much better things to be doing and have been very rude and unaccommodating. Asking for anything has seemed to irritate them and been made to feel like a burden. But once it's time for the check their whole demeanor changes as if the blatant rudeness and poor service never happened. The food here is good (why I added an extra star), but not for the price and definitely not for putting up with the poor attitude lingering in the service. The last time I visited was for my birthday and my mom had brought a small cake that she specially made for me and is something we do every time we go to a restaurant for a birthday. The waitress said that we could not have it because it's a "health department restriction", which come to find out after contacting DATCP that it is not at all. She was short with us and never came back to check if we needed anything. After having this happen already at my previous visits, it was very upsetting but mot surprising at all. It saddens me because I had very high hopes for this community favorite but I will not come here to leave uncomfortable anymore. I am not the only person who feels this way, as colleagues have also shared the same frustration. Maybe once they change management or have new wait staff I may return. But not any time soon. read more

Tried this place for the first time, and as an Italian American, I can say the food was wonderful. The pasta was fresh, the seafood was awesome, and the antipasto plate alone is worth the trip. My only food complaint: this is Italian food, where was the bread with the main course to get all that extra goodness at the bottom of the plate?? Had to knock it by two starts because of the seating situation. There was only 4 of us, and they sat us a giant round table in which we were so spread out, we couldn't hear each other on a busy and loud Saturday evening. To top it off, IT WAS SO COLD - it ruined the entire night for all four of us (including two men who usually always run hot!) We couldn't wait to leave and get warmed up in our car. Every time the door opened with someone coming or going, we got blasted with freezing air because there is no airlock or heater to offset the cold. A group two tables over got a free limoncello because they kept complaining about the cold draft. We didn't get offered that, but frankly, I would have been too cold to drink it! I still can't feel my feet. Was the food good? Yes, absolutely. Would I go back? Never again during the cold months of Wisconsin. read more

Excellent service with wide variety of drinks, unique appetizers, and tasty entrees. Vanilla Gelato topped off a great meal! I will definitely come back again. read more

Absolutely marvelous from top to bottom. The decor is open and airy industrial, with exposed brick and ductwork, hardwood floors and an open kitchen. The waitstaff is outfitted in black and white striped t-shirts and really cool denim aprons. The entire atmosphere is casual and unstuffy, very relaxing. The others in my party started with the Negroni special of the evening and all enjoyed them throughly. The food is FABULOUS. We had a party of 5 and we all tried something different. I had the antipasto appetizer platter as my meal. It comes out on a slice of tree. (It is a wooden platter made from a tree trunk that has been sliced, smoothed and treated.) Piled with cured meats, cheeses, some wonderful marinated cherry tomatoes, and a rustic ciabatta (it needs 2-3 more slices of bread) it was an ample entree and would be perfect to share. The pastas tasted fresh made and the sauces were made with a deft hand, you could taste all of the aspects of the plate. We ordered cannolis and tiramisu to share. The tiramisu was light and creamy and really delicious but the cannoli is truly out of this world. It has a slight orange flavor in the whipped marscapone that is divine. One of the group actually scraped all of the remaining bits with her finger because she said it was too precious to waste. I will never visit Madison without eating here. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. read more

Delicious! I love pasta and Bar Corallini has the BEST pasta in Madison! Can't wait to go back again soon!

WARNING: The gnocchi dish is weird. Even though the server explained in advance that they were a little different from typical gnocchi, we were unprepared for what was actually served. These are not "gnocchi" by any conventional understanding of the term: no kidney-bean shapes, no cute fork-divots along the edge, no potatoes. They're more like big cubes of polenta made from wheat flour, with a consistency sort of like a thick pudding or curd (imagine a dense unspiced flour pumpkin pie). I'm sure in some culinary sense this technically counts as gnocchi, but to those of us with an unsophisticated, everyday understanding of pasta nomenclature, the term is confusing and borderline misleading. It's not a bad dish, but the gulf between what the casual diner is likely to expect from 'gnocchi' and what they actually receive provides ample surface area for disappointment. Overall though, this place is rad. The pizza is tasty, the pasta portions are generous but not excessive, the spritzers are fun and reasonably priced, and the dessert options are just right. Also, a great re-purposing of the space formerly occupied by Chocolaterian (RIP). Highly recommend, despite the questionable taxonomy choice. read more

I've heard people compare this to Cento. I don't think they're even in the same ball park. We started with an anapasta board that was well presented and tasty. the disappointment was the menu. there were very few entres that didn't include flour. there was an Arctic char and a chicken piccata. My companion had pizza that was adequate and I had the special of butternut squash and shrimp risotto that was good but not spectacular. The wine list is short and be warned that the house red is served chilled. Might be good in summer but not now. The restaurant is stylish and noisy. Has a fun vibe. Our server was obviously inexperienced. Other Servers I observed seemed competent and gracious. I think this restaurant would be a good place to stop for a drink and a pizza. If you want a good Italian meal I would choose some other restaurant in Madison. read more

Absolutely wonderful ambiance, really good food. I recommend this to anyone and everyone

Amazing food. Service was good. Best Italian food I've had in awhile, an American twist on Italian food, but fantastically executed.

I was super impressed with this restaurant. I came for a birthday dinner and was excited about their vegan menu-- which exceeded my expectations! Our service was great and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. We will have to come back!! read more

I've been here twice now, once we ate in and another had take out pizza. When we ate in, I had the shrimp pasta dish. It was very good. Also had several apps, the warm olives and eggplant dishes were very good. I also sampled the pizzas and they were tasty. The thing that killed me was how loud it was. Really really loud, like couldn't hear the people talking across the table loud. And then add in background music. Loud. I'm not 60 either, my hearing is pretty good. Tonight we ordered takeout pizza (because it's loud and we wanted to eat it outside... somewhere quiet). Picked them up, went to picnic spot to find out they never cut the pizza. I happened upon a corkscrew in my car with a foil cutter... which can now double as a pizza cutter in a pinch. Who knew. read more

Superb food (both quality and selection), the best management team in town, friendly service, and all in a cozy, Italian hometown type venue. What else could you ask for? Although I have recently moved away, this place is top of my list to visit upon return home. read more

Drinks were ok, as was charcuterie. Entrees were lack luster. Bolognese was very acidic and heavy with sausage/fennel. Tagliatelle was under cooked and 2/3 of the portion was stuck together in a lump. Gnocchi wasn't gnocchi at all, they were polenta squares. Lastly the chicken piccata... the sauce was very strong with mustard/Dijon which is not the classic preparation. We requested a side of pasta with the piccata and we were denied, we said we'd pay for it, waitress told us the kitchen couldn't accommodate. Wine list is substandard... high prices for mid to low quality wines... and the wine list was absent of true high end Italian reds... Amarone specifically. Not going back read more
