Salvatore, you should be ashamed. We came in as honest customers willing to pay a premium for a graduation dinner, and you left us extremely disappointed. I tried to talk to you, not expecting anything in return, other than perhaps an explanation of what went wrong for such a underwhelming experience... And you offered nothing! We spent 1000 dollars for 5 of us - ridiculous! Honestly, 1000% not a complainer at all- maybe 2 reviews total in 10+ years - but the worst meal I've had in years! Salvatore the owner offered a bottle of port or champagne to fix it, but that fell completely flat . Such a disappointment for my daughter's graduation dinner... We had talked to Salvatore earlier on the phone and he promised we would be so pleased. A horrible experience, with no regard from the restaurant to fix it. Save your money, get a slice of pizza at a local pizza joint and call it a day. My wasted money will save you yours...! This meal was worth $150 total tops and we spent $1000 of our hard earned money! Beyond disappointed- we feel violated and completely taken advantage of - karma is real sir ... it's real. Ambiance on a Saturday night is incredibly crowded and incredibly loud. Generally the atmosphere is homey but a bit too much on a Saturday night. First off the wine list is laughable. $90 is the cheapest bottle of wine and that was something you could buy at the store for like $20 and it just went up from there into the thousands. I've never seen this kind of markup. Needless to say I didn't see many bottle of wine purchased. Instead we got $18 glasses that were I'm sure extremely over priced as well. Also while on the drinks we ordered limoncello after dinner and I've never experienced a limoncello that had significant amount of pulp like you bought extra pulp orange juice. I've had limoncello in Italy and plenty of Italian restraints and this was a first and not good. Service was fine. Food was nothing to write home about. Steak ended up being substantially under cooked then sent back and got substantially over cooked. One pasta with clams was a weird chewy consistency. One pasta was super limp like 5-6 minutes over cooked. Sauce was pretty tasty and meatballs were fine but needed more salt. For dessert the cannoli was good and the other one ordered wasn't great. I heard a lot of great things about this restaurant and was excited to try it! With it being by the capital the only real parking was in a near by parking garage. The ambiance was not what i was expecting for an upscale italian restaurant, it gave more of a family italian restaurant. Definitely not handicap accessible and the prices were higher than I thought appropriate. Some of what we ordered was amazing while others left us feeling like something was missing for the price we were paying. I do have to start by saying that this probably wasn't their best work because it was Ironman weekend and they were very busy, but I was unimpressed tbh. We ordered the Loch Duart Salmone alla Puttanesca, they were out of salmon so they substituted it for shrimp. This dish I would not get again it was like bland spaghetti. Also ordered the rigatoni alla Salvatore which was better. Another member of our party ordered this as well and they looked like completely different dishes with different sauces so who knows. 2 people in our group ordered the pollo Salvatore and both did not like it, saying the chicken was quite dry, the pieces of bacon were fatty and there was not a lot of sauce. 1 person ordered a coke that never came. They did give us 2 Tiramisu 's for the long wait and that was the best part of the whole dinner tbh read more

I'm surprised it doesn't have a higher rating on here and that many people I know who have lived in Madison for way longer than me had never even heard of it! I only discovered it when I specifically searched for nice restaurants that could accommodate both vegetarian and gluten-free restrictions. They were very accommodating - lots of Italian dishes can be vegetarian, and Naples 15 has most of their pastas with a gluten-free version. I came here for my birthday with a group of 5 and we all loved it. Our favorite dish was the buffalo pizza, which was surprising. It was so good though! This place has an old school vibe, dimly lit, candles, waiter service, you know the deal. It's right downtown (but we were able to find street parking nearby!). How did I not know this restaurant existed?! I've lived in Madison for ten years now and did not learn about this restaurant until a friend mentioned it was their date night spot. After visiting Italy this past year we fell in love with the food and were so excited to try this place out. We made a reservation for 5pm when they opened which I highly recommend! We were immediately seated and the server was spectacular. I loved reading about the history of the restaurant and the owner as well. Now, to the food. I ordered a caprese salad and the lobster ravioli. Both of them were the best I've ever had. My partner had a different pasta dish and the tomato sauce was so flavorful and perfect. I went there with high expectations as I have read the reviews. First of all the place is kind of clostrofobic, low ceiling. The tables are only inches apart from each other. You can not talk in your normal voice, not to disturb the next table. There were glasses full of still water when we were guided to our table. It shouldn't be, as one can not be sure of it's hygiene. We ordered sparkling water, San Pellegrino which the waiter brought under his arm! and in room temperature. We asked a cold one and then ordered white wine. I asked please bring it cold, he said yes, ice cold. Unfortunately the wine was again in room temperature. I refused. He said he will ask the bartender. That was ridiculous. We left. read more

We walked in on a busy Saturday night and were able to grab a few bar seats, which ended up being the most fun experience. This is was unbelievable. It was so noisy we could hardly hear our waitress. For some reason the owner came to our table & tried to sell our host $590 bottle of wine. He passed. Then he brought out another bottle of wine we knew that was a good wine for much less and was told only one bottle He pours 3 of our group a good pour, which emptied the bottle then order's another bottle without our consent.
