Grilled lettuce - something new for me.
    Khiang S.

Had my birthday celebration at Eno Vino downtown again. Last time was 3 years ago. I love the view of the Capital from the restaurant and love that they change their menu items. Some items have the same name as before but how they cooked it changed. I enjoyed the food so much that I forgot to take photos of each dish. The wait person was very attentive and when the kitchen made a mistake on the dessert orders, he brought out another set even after I said it was fine. He really went out of his way. We had the following for dinner for a party of 5 and that's a lot of food. Bruschetta - apple/fig, mozzarella, Mediterranean and prosciutto. The go to for starter. Grilled baby lettuce - 1st time eating grilled lettuce and was pleasantly surprised. The little bit of charred taste was welcoming. Roasted beet salad - the creamy goat cheese was so good with the well baked beets. Truffles fries - same old same old, still very good. The only way to improve on this might be the dips provided. Ahi tuna - a new recipe for an old item and it was very good. Seared scallops - new recipe with sausages and carmelized onions over corn. I liked the scallops and sausages, to much corn for me. Pork belly bites - too much potatoes, not enough pork belly, would have loved it if it was all pork belly. Chef special - filet mignon, crab cakes, fried green beans served by the chef who cooked it. It was indeed special. Sorbet - wild berries hibiscus, mango Panna cotta, crème brûlée. Definitely returning to Eno Vino Downtown in the future and hopeful not another 3 years.

Only good thing about this place was the view and the staff. The food was so overrated and overpriced for what you got. The cocktails were good but still overpriced. We got maybe 6 things between the two of us and nothing was memorable. Should have just went to the Caribou for one of Winslow's burgers. This is just a place to go to tell others you went.

I went here for my birthday and it ended up being a really lovely experience. The atmosphere feels upscale yet comfortable, and the view of the Capitol makes the whole evening feel extra special. The shareable plates worked perfectly for our group, and most of the dishes were flavorful and beautifully prepared. The only issue we ran into was a mixup where another table's cheeseboard was brought to us and our appetizer went to them. Even with that hiccup, the food, the service, and the overall vibe made it a great birthday dinner. I'd definitely come back for another celebration or a night out. Also the view in the women's bathroom is beautiful

Hadn't been to Eno Vino in a while, but it feels like they've stepped things up. The shrimp ceviche special was bright and fresh, probably my favorite. For drinks we had the pomegranate mojito and garden party cocktails were both good. But the Scorpio Rising was the favorite drink. For food we tried a few new items. The yuca was interesting but seemed odd and needed more flavor. We really liked the empanada and Brussel sprouts especially the cream sauce with the empanada. Pork belly and chicken skewer were both cooked well and two were enough for 6 people. Lastly, the Thai chicken flatbread wasn't great. Not bad, it just didn't live up to the rest. Service was fast and very nice as always.

All time favorites in madison! you need a reservation if you don't want to sit at the bar or a high top but you can occasionally get in as a walk in. Meals are more or a sharing item with smaller sizes but the flavor of the meals is unmatched. I absolutely feel like the ambiance and flavor is worth the price you pay. Parking is typically in a parking garage a block away, not very wheel chair accessible.

View is incredible on the 10th floor looking straight at the capital. Bar has generous amount of seats and the restaurant is large and can accommodate big parties. Food is served as shareable plates and everything is always delicious. Been several times and not often disappointed. The truffle fries have great flavor and come with three homemade dipping sauces, but they weren't quite crispy enough for my liking. However, I had the ahi tuna and it was fantastic.

I haven't been here in a while, but really enjoyed the dinner for two special which makes dining here much more affordable. Three course dinner included a bruschetta or cheese board, main course and a dessert for 45pp. I really enjoyed the salmon dinner and crème brûlée desert. Guinness was available on draft too! The view of Madison and the capital is really amazing!! The only negative is the parking situation downtown as it was art fair weekend and public parking deck was full and it was raining too. Would recommend

Just stopped for a pomegranate mojito and the sausage and mushroom flatbread. As usual the view was perfect. Our server was very nice and apologized for the service being slower. We didn't mind because it was a nice night to enjoy the views. The cocktail menu has gotten more expensive since the last time we were here.

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambience: 5/5 Rooftop restaurant with a spectacular bar, great views of the capital and overall plush ambience. Food is in shared plates, so the paradigm of ordering is a little confusing. Love the soup with grilled cheese bites, as well as the beet salad. Bruschetta platter had weird flavors in them. we went there to celebrate a birthday and had a grand time For dessert we had the chocolate fondue, which was awesome.

I've been here a few times for work events and drinks/snacks. The atmosphere is gorgeous, possibly one of the best views in Madison. The food is surprisingly hit or miss for the price. Yesterday I stopped by with a couple of friends for happy hour. I had the green goddess drink which was excruciatingly sour. My friend ordered the pomegranate mule, which was nice. We ordered two snacks to share: the tuna tartare and the carpaccio. The tuna tartare was tasty, balanced, and creative. I liked the crispy quinoa and the freshness of the yogurt sauce. The carpaccio was horrible. The cuts were sloppy. There was very little meat and a heaping pile of microgreens with poorly-sliced red onion. The broth was sour beyond belief and the fact that it was served with tortilla chips made no sense at all. It seemed like two different chefs wrote the recipes and prepared the dishes. I think I'll wait until another work-sponsored event to return. I'd rather not play roulette with the menu.

I had an amazing birthday dinner here. The restaurant is very classy with amazing views of the capital building. Taylor C took care of us. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and allergy information (gluten and peanut/legumes). She brought wine samples so I could pick a dry red wine that would accompany my meal - not surprisingly, I ended up picking her favorite wine and it was perfect. This restaurant specializes in small plates and shareables. I ordered 3 plates and had some leftovers to take home (I did NOT share with my dining guest). They have a gluten-friendly menu. Everything was beautifully prepared and brought out with plenty of time between courses. I started with the roasted beet salad with goat cheese (this ended up being my favorite of the three). They whipped the goat cheese and somehow that made it crazy addictive. Yum! My next choice was the seared scallops that came with grilled onions and sliced sausage in a bed of corn. I am not much of a sausage person so I didn't eat much of the sausage but made quick work of the seared scallops and onions. I ended with a filet with potatoes, oyster mushroom and peas in a Malbec reduction. This was good but the filet was a bit unevenly cooked. I had ordered medium rare, and about have of the filet was medium. The most beautiful dish that we tried was the "Crispy" lobster. While, sadly, not gluten-free, both the presentation and taste (I was told) were five stars. The food was, indeed, a special experience that we really enjoyed. About the drinks: so many choices!! All of the wines that I sampled would have been excellent choices, at a fair price point. There are so many interesting cocktails to pick from. Here again, the presentation of the cocktails makes it a special experience. Both of us loved the "Jalop-In Your Business" cocktail with jalapeno-infused tequila. It definitely had a kick to it, even for us Texans. To summarize, I highly recommend this restaurant and Taylor C for your special night out, especially if you have food allergies.

It was my first time here over the weekend. The interior design inside of the building is very well put together. The scenery of the capital building is a plus! Would highly recommend this place to anyone, top of the line service and great selection of wine!

We were a little disappointed in the wait because there were some empty tables around, which showed that Merchant was not extremely slammed, but we wanted to give benefit of the doubt. Fried Cheese Curds tasted alright. We probably got the unlucky batch though, because halfway through eating them, we had dime-sized cheese curds. It certainly didn't feel like we got a full appetizer size of cheese curds because of this. I think typically the smaller cheese curds are at the end of the dish, but here it felt like we had it for 50% of the dish. The Merchant Burger was alright, but nothing to wow my senses. The black pepper aioli was delicious though, but it felt like that was what was saving the burger. Not pictured was the Floral G&T drink, which tasted delicious. Overall: giving this place 3 stars because it wasn't amazing, but it was OK. The interior is beautiful though, but food and service were below our expectations.

You can opt for a small tasting pour or more of a traditional pour. At the end of the night you return your wine card and pay for whatever you had. The workers here also try to provide table service and bring your sandwich out to you if you do dine-in.
