I ordered TD ( 2009 Santa Fe) color code first time doing car paint work. initially I tried to blend fixing small area. Since the color gap is too obvious. I could not blend it. I thought that original color has changed over the 15 years and this shop gave me the right paint.
So I decided to do whole hood. This time I ordered TD color from online company in FL which charges me half of BAPS price.
The paint from online company matches the existing color of my car.
I brought my car to the BAPS and showed the sections of their paint and online shop paint.
First, I hope they do not sell un-matching TD color to other customers.
Second, I hope that they can give the right matching paint free.
They seemed to agree that color difference is obvious and brought color scanner and scan the color of my car.
They asked me to pay the new paint spray.
I bought Estoriel Blue for BMW also.
The damaged section is in the bottom panel. The blue was a bit darker than original color. At that time I thought the same that my car is old so color faded.
I am not sure about blue color since I did not order that color from online shop hence no comparison data.
Anyway both color were darker than original color.
if I bought TD color from online from the beginning, I have not wasted my time and TD spray and extra clear coat spray.
All the small touch up areas are like star in the sky.
if I am running the shop, I will try to give a another spray to try it out.
As a customer, I know a shop which sells the matching color with half price..
My choice is obvious. I just left the BAPS saying "Sorry I cannot pay a new paint. ( which I am not sure if it will match or not..on top of that double the price)
That was my experience with BAPS Herndon. read more
