Years ago I had my factory wheels powder coated black, but after a year in the DC area, the edges of the wheels got scraped up enough to look like OEM Mercedes rims with that silly silver edge. I searched yelp and found a few highly rated companies to Powdercoat. The first option and Maryland quoted me a price 3.7 times higher than my original powder coating. Hi scammers! So then I found NV coatings and boy am I happy I went with them. Their price was only about 6 1/2% higher than my original powder coatings two years ago and I'm very happy with the work that they did! I even had ideas for powder coating or painting my brake calipers. Luckily, they continued to explain that different process which quickly led me to understand. Ok. First off. They are probably not the cheapest. I called around to get my steel bumper powder coated. They were all around the same price or a bit cheaper but not by much. But for the quality, they do amazing work. They sand blasted my bumper, then applied a rust protective undercoating, then powder coated my bumper in textured black. Took less than a week to do and they wrapped up my bumper in order to make sure it didn't get dented up while I transported it home. Very good customer service and quality. I came here with my C4 Fab bumper after calling 3 shops in NOVA. They had the best price for me. The shop also allowed me to have the item shipped to them, to avaoid a home freight delivery charge. I left the bumper with them over the weekend to give them plenty of time to do a good job. The bumper had a little media blast to remove the mild rust from the manufacturer and shipping then 5mil of PC applied. Coating came out cleanly, with no bubbles. They did a good job of coating the inside as much as possible. (Only the very corner, inside a tight enclosed corner was missed, but there was no way to fit the gun in there.) The owner did tell me that almost 90% of their work is wheels and small items, so consider this if looking to PC a larger item (like mine). I'll be coming back for any smaller trims/accents I decide to add. read more

I usually don't leave reviews, and this is way past overdue. But I gotta give it to props to NV Coating and Sam. He was more than helpful and knowledgeable in helping me select the right color and finish to my wheels. I completely underestimated the process and the wide variety of different combination of colors and finishes that were out there. I honestly got pretty overwhelmed, but Sam really took his time, provided me some recommendations and pointed me to the right direction. Sam updated me along the process, and was flexible in the midst of my indecisiveness and million of questions. I really think the price you pay for the quality of work and service end up being an amazing deal. He not only coated the wheels , but repaired the curb damage and replaced the valves on my existing tires. The shop is expanding and will be providing more wheel repair business in the near future. I looked at several powder-coat shops on and off for awhile. I didn't have any luck finding one that would take my car, remove the wheels, unmount the tires and then put it all back together. This shop was the only one in the area I could find to do it. The price was extremely reasonable given the fact it included taking the wheels off, and removing the minor curb rash I had. I even had plastidip on my rims, which was probably a pain to remove, and they didn't upcharge me at all for that, which wouldn't be uncommon. I opted for the sputtered black and it looks incredible and it was not much more expensive than just black gloss, which I appreciated. My rims literally look branch new now and have a nice metallic glimmer that most OEM wheels don't have. Their customer service is top notch, and they were very open and honest with the process. They walked me through what would be done and what had been done, before and after the process. They verified every detail of what I wanted to make sure I was happy with the end result. I consulted with NV Coatings about refinishing the wheels on my classic car. Although I learned there wasn't a safe way to have them refinished, they were super helpful in directing me to resources to find the correct wheels in the original finish for purchase elsewhere. Not sure why there aren't more reviews for this place. They are located in the industrial area in Chantilly. Their shop is neat and well layed out. They have a small showroom of powder coated items. They had sample wheels with matte black which is exactly what I went with. They are busy and you can tell by all the stuff that are in different stages of the powder coat process. Like the others my wheels took about a week. The price was super competitive. To be honest with the way the wheels turned out I wouldn't mind paying a bit more (plus its so close to my house). I had 5 16x7 Aluminum mercedes wheels that I had coated and they turned out great. They were polished aluminum with clear coat that was peeling and they took care of it. When I picked up the wheels they saran wrapped or plastic wrapped the wheel surface to prevent any scratches. A nice touch and representative of the care they put into the process. I will definitely be using them for any future powder coating needs. Oh and they recently got a tire machine / balancer so they will be able to do tire installs soon too. I brought my Acura MDX to NV Coatings to get the wheels powder coated. Was told it would take 3 days and was called and told they were done in 2 1/2 days. Rafael and his NV Coatings Team did an excellent job. So, I brought my son's Subaru BRZ in a few months later. The wheels were powder coated gloss black and brake calipers painted red. Was told it would be a 3-4 day process. Car was done in 2 1/2 days. Also, Rafael pointed out that the aftermarket Motegi wheels did not have centering rings in them. No other dealer or tire installer had told me this in the past (the car was bought used with the aftermarkets already on). Quick back story: I bought my car used several years ago and the wheels had road rash, so I had them professionally painted. About 12months later the paint started to crack and a few months later the paint started to chip/flake away. I told myself when the tires needed replacement, I'd get them powder coated and done right, with new tires installed. Fast forward about 2yrs, I took my car to NV Coatings. I thought I was simply going to make the wheels look good again and have new tires installed... that was not the case.  NV Coatings noticed that all of my wheels were bent, of course this repair cost a little more; however extremely well worth it. I did not realize this car could ride so smooth. I now know I was clearly driving on bent wheels for years; which no one else noticed or told me. NV Coatings (especially Raphael) were so easy to work with and the entire workforce was extremely professional. Every dollar spent there was immensely well worth it, and here's the kicker... powder coating my four wheels was only $60 more than having all four of them painted; which painting didn't even cover the entire wheel, just the exterior. I ordered the tires on TireRack and NV Coatings is a preferred installer, so they were shipped directly to them at no cost to me.  All of the timelines/plan that NV Coatings told me up front was true and they executed flawlessly. Great experience, reasonably priced. A somewhat unique job, I asked them to do a computer case in a top-coat, chameleon color with a starry effect and love the way it came out.
