We stopped by here for lunch, and my daughter ordered the kids slider meal, with cheese only. When we first got the order, it was literally 2 buns with just cheese! My daughter took it up and they were quick to make it right. Christine brought it out to us and apologized for the literal order taking. We had a good laugh. Great location to watch people on the strip while you eat since Kuhio is one of the busiest areas for foot traffic. I saw it had 4.5 stars so I was expecting exceptional taste and quality then saw the pictures on the poster and decided that I'd give it a shot. The burgers aren't bad, they're just fast food quality and I expected more for the prices. I'm not a health nut and I can appreciate a fat sloppy burger here and there since I spend 40-50 hours in the gym monthly. These burgers were greasy on another level though. I had to use like 7-8 napkins as I fought through each cholesterol and calorie soaked bite. The bacon was soggy as one would expect when drenched in grease, but the taste was not worth the days I took off my lifespan by consuming that much grease. 3 stars feels like a generous rating, especially since it's rated so high. Again, I don't mind indulging in a fat sloppy burger, but this one wasn't tasty enough to justify at the price I paid. Could've gotten a drive through burger meal for less than half the price. We had such a great experience at Banzai Burger thanks to Christine, the manager. She was incredibly diligent and careful when helping us navigate allergens for my daughter, who is allergic to dairy and nuts. We wanted to order açaí bowls for breakfast. Christine went above and beyond by bringing out the granola package and walking us through the ingredient list so we could verify everything ourselves. I am 98% positive on digital platforms. But this place was just whack. Burger $15 plus $1.50 TAKEOUT FEE?!? WTH plus tax equaled $18.50. So I figured it came with fries at nearly $20 bucks. Nope. I'm not sure if it was meat or fake meat-was grayish pink. So kinda yucky looking. The veggies were good. Nice and crispy & sauce was tasty not amazing and not enough of it. Also creepy staff and had a live barking dog at a table near where I was sitting eating-not taking out to utilize my $1.50 TO charge. And last thing is I am still very hungry. Coming from California, I think the burgers here are just average. They aren't bad, but they're not amazing either. I think what knocked it down to 3 stars was the fries- they're pretty dry and flavorless. They're kind of similar to In N Out burgers but with thicker buns and more expensive. We got the teri burger and their version of a double double along with onion rings and it was delicious. Probably the most reasonably priced burger spot around the Waikiki proper area.
