When we were up in North Conway over the summer we tried getting breakfast at a bunch of places right on rt.16 by our hotel but they all had screaming kids in the waiting area & over an hour for wait times. no thank you. So we drove down the road a bit and found Banners, where we walked right in, were seated right away and got phenomenal service. The food was great and we loved the atmosphere, nice and big with a home-like feel. The only reason I can't give 5 stars will sound silly, but it's because their syrup is in little packets which drove my husband crazy. The packets would explode when he'd force it open and when he did get it open, it wouldn't be enough. Otherwise we loved it. We'll definitely be back. read more

I've been coming to Banners since I met my in-laws. I wouldn't have given it a second look if it wasn't my FIL's standard morning place. I'm glad it is, because I've gotten to know the "family" at Banners so well. The owner is a hardworker who is usually out back washing dishes or cooking, or even clearing tables. The waitresses are all locals who are filled with sass and a smile and have been working there for years. The food? Actually, it's pretty good. It's better than IHOP, and the service is a hell of a lot better too. They keep the coffee coming and the coffee is GOOD. They also know my name now too! I walk in and I get greated like an old friend...where else can you get that kind of service? The prices are good, the service is good, the food is good, and the atmosphere is good. What more can you ask for in a tourist trap of a town? And hey, if you get a table in the small dining area and you notice immediately that there are about 10 people all laughing loudly, teasing each other, and shouting to each other over their eggs and toast, you know you're in the cool kids section. It may be loud but, then again, the fact that these loyal locals come here EVERY MORNING for years has got to tell you something. Are there more trendy, fancy, expensive, and cloying places to go in the area? You bet. But I'll stick with Banners for as long as the owner wants to stay in business. read more

Went here because of the Yelp reviews but was not impressed. Food was okay, service was adequate. Bacon was 95% fat and the "fluffy" pancakes were flat (but tasty). And they charged extra for real syrup instead of Log Cabin. read more

I've been here in years past, before COVID, and have always enjoyed it. However, my girlfriend and I came in and the first thing we noticed was a customer outside the front door smoking a cigarette with no mask. When we entered the restaurant and were seated, we later saw him up and about without a mask--presumably going to the restroom--and he was never asked to mask up. Next, we saw multiple people in the kitchen cooking and washing dishes with no masks on. My girlfriend also saw one of the waitresses pull her mask down to take a hit of her vape. Additionally, the tables were not spaced out and there was an elderly woman eating just a few feet from us. That's more of a concern for the woman than for my girlfriend and I, considering she's more at risk. We paid for our coffees and took off for Peach's Restaurant up 302 a few miles north. Much better and much more serious about public safety. Do not eat here until COVID is long gone. read more

Homestyle, consistently good, quality breakfast, crispy bacon, fast service, free wi-fi (not breakfast related but thought I'd throw it in). You are not getting gourmet here, don't expect fancy, like I said good homestyle. I never have any greasy yuck feeling after eating there. The homefries are one of my least favorite parts of a breakfast there but certainly not horrible, just a little on the plain side (and occasionally undercooked if you arrive early in the morning). First review mentions Yankees paraphernalia?? Must have been a past decorating scheme because you will find nothing like that there now. (EDIT: There is some, in a back seating area, oh well :) I usually get the New England breakfast, my husband gets the Hikers, for the pancakes. I also love the apple and cheddar omelette. Fast friendly service. Great expansive lunch menu too, good portions. Again nothing fancy, but lots of options. Breakfast all day, they are open until 2 or 3pm? every day. read more

Family and I went here for lunch. Atmosphere was great, subtle music in the background with the classic country dinner feel. They provide coloring crayons and a picture to be colored for children. Wait staff was very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in their customer; they weren't afraid to start conversation. You could tell they take a lot of pride in making sure the experience is pleasurable, with out the usual overbearing over the shoulder watching service. We stopped in here one morning after leaving (escaping?) an inn that rubbed us the wrong way. Banners was already buzzing by 8 AM on a Sunday morning, and we ordered some home fries to share, 2 Belgian waffles with whipped cream and strawberries, and Texas French toast with fresh fruit and cream. The fruit was all fresh - none of that sweetened syrup there. Waffles tasted pretty good, as did the whipped cream. French toast was out of this world! We visited the town during an off season so we had a hard time finding a place that was open for lunch. We stumbled upon this place about 10 minutes before closing and they happily sat us and served us lunch. The waitress, Karen, was friendly and attentive even though I'm sure we were keeping her past closing. My husband had chili and said it was excellent. I had clam chowder and thought it was ok. We went to Banners after waiting at another local restaurant for breakfast where only 2 employees were working and the line was considerable. Obviously going to be a very long wait as clerk was not even acknowledging people in line, but handling one order at a time. Many people left with us realizing this was a waste of time. Went to Banners where things were definitely bustling but there was plenty of waitstaff and they were very efficient. We were seated immediately.There were 4 of us so the wait was a bit longer than couples that came in, but well worth the wait. Food was fresh and delicious. My only complaint would be that we all found the coffee to be weak. That was definitely a disappointment! read more
