I came here because I was visiting the "Very Good Noodle and Congee" restaurant that is beside here. They are both located in a kinda failing mall at Woodbine and 16th in Markham. I ordered the grilled lemongrass beef banh mi. I must say I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The meat was tender and flavourful. The veggie toppings were fresh and crisp. The size of the sandwich itself was huge. I thoroughly enjoyed the banh mi sandwich. I will be back. And It is places like this and the restaurant beside it that will keep me coming back to this mall. Maybe, they can save the mall from the brink of disaster. But I will come back for this banh mi and to try their other options. This is an easy recommendation for all yelpers.

A quarter of the foot long pork belly baguette

My overall review is a 3.5/5. We received the standard Pate Sandwich, 2 small sandwiches and the Pork Belly Sandwich, the foot long baguette. I found that sections of the small baguettes were very hard. The foot long baguette was softer and I preferred it over the small baguettes. Both sandwiches fillings and flavours were okay for me, nothing amazing. The pickled carrots servings were generous, however the cucumber was not seasoned at all, so a bit of a miss. Ambience - 3/5, it's a takeout Service - 3.75/5 Food - 3/5 I appreciate that there is a variety of fillings for the baguettes, and I realize I prefer the standard pate baguette. I actually ordered two foot long sandwiches and I had a question about a promo text I had received and spoke to the store about it. I think it was a complete misunderstanding that the store automatically changed my foot long order to two small sandwiches which is the same size but $.50 more which they did not charge. The service is friendly and welcoming. The person who I think is the owner came to the front counter and talked to the customers to ensure that everyone was taken care of. The store is located on the main floor at the front of the mall with the entrance from within the mall. Parking is available outside and underground of this mall. I am not certain that I will return to try any other Banhi here.

Not bad. Pretty tasty banh mi sandwiches made fresh while you wait. Great courteous service. We love the fact that they also sell nem chua, which is Vietnamese cured pork with garlic and chiles. Simply delicious!

Pork sausage came with the combo. So so...

A takeout Viet banh mi place located at King Square on Woodbine north of Markland. Freshly made to order. Easily have line ups at lunch time. But I find the food here is just ordinary with nothing spectacular. Small size with average prices. Other banh mi places give a better value honestly.

Came here and tried their Banh Mi Baguette Sandwiches during soft opening and had been a returning customer since then. My favourite and go-to is the Cold Cut Baguette Sandwich. I love that they are generous with ingredients thus every bite is flavourful. Even if you don't eat it right away, it still tastes delicious. I've reheated them with an air fryer on many occasions and they tasted just as good even a day or two later. The owner is friendly too and service is quick in the sense that you don't have to wait too long. Would definitely come back for more!

A little sandwich shop located inside King Square. I got some coupons from a Halloween event to redeem a Vietnamese sandwich, a sausage and a springroll from here so I brought my kids with me. My younger one was crying and throwing tantrums. The lady who I think is the owner was really nice, she offered my kids juice and some chicken wings. Very sweet of her! The food tasted great, I loved the springroll. Prices aren't bad either. Highly recommend this place.

Been wanting to try this place out for a while now ever since they opened so I finally did this past weekend. I was there Saturday morning around 11am and picked up a 7 layer pandan rice cake ($3), pork & shrimp tapioca dumpling wrap in banana leaf (3 for $5), and a coconut pandan jelly dessert with coconut milk ($5). I decided to go back Sunday noon to try out some more food but it was SO PACKED. All their desserts in the fridge including the jelly dessert I wanted was sold out as well as their chicken wings. It's still pretty early in the day so I wasn't sure if they would restock throughout the day. So the only thing i ended up getting was the lemon grass chicken banh mi ($8.50). It's larger than other places and they gave the option of spicy or non spicy. They don't take tax if paid by cash. Price is reasonable for most items. Service was friendly. The waiting area can get a little crowded when they're really busy, but I'll be back to try out their other items

Finally made it to Banh Mi House! I ordered the pork belly and chicken. Prices are similar to other vietnamese restaurants (under $10) but with a much wider selection of toppings. I'd definitely prefer this over Nam's $10 banh mi. I agree with one of the comments about slow service. I placed an order and was told it would take 10 mins, so I walked about the mall and came back just a bit over 10 mins. When I got back, it wasn't ready and about 5 mins later, I noticed they were cooking my pork belly and chicken. I guess it's slow because they cook everything fresh? There was just one order ahead of me too.. Later on, the owner walked in the store and kept on apologizing that I had to wait so long. I do love how they have a different sticker for each one so you dont have to guess. The chicken tasted really good! The pork belly was chewy because of the skin though.. They take cash, debit and credit.

3.5 STARS My family usually like to walk around King square and noticed Banh Mi House finally opened. mr. Tran wanted to try it, so he got the special cold cut for $6. They were closing soon, and the cashier had told us only cold cuts and nem nuong (grilled pork sausage) were available. They were also giving us nem nuong to try, and I have to say it was very good. The lady making the sandwich was very slow, and she was probably very tired as it was end of the day. Sandwich took about 15 minutes to make, as she was also making other people's sandwiches at the same time. Banh mi at first glance looked very full of cold cuts, with pickled daikon and carrots, also had pate, long wedge of cucumber and cilantro. First bite, bread is crispy, yet light. Sandwich came together very well. The pate was underwhelming, didn't really know if there was butter mayo as I couldn't taste it. But overall, sandwich is good, but for $6, I don't know if I can justify buying a viet sub for that price.

Basically a take out place, there is a counter with 4 bar stool seats for those who can't wait to eat their freshly made Bahn mi sandwich. Nice professional set up with 1 staff manning the cooking grill and 3 other staff assembling the sandwichs once the meats are grilled to perfection. Ordered a grilled lemongrass pork banh mi. Can watch the magic happen as pork is freshly grilled, then handed over to the counter prep staff, bread is crusty, plenty of pickled vegetables. Lemongrass soothes the soul, get it spicy to spice up your mundane existence. Banh mi could have used a little more protein to match up with the veg and bread. Rice paper shrimp rolls were excellent, rice noodles, veg, shrimp in perfect existence with the rice paper. Wanted to try their mango salad but unfortunately they were out off fresh mango. Perfect excuse for me to return.

Located in the ground floor of King Square, this banh mi place is a takeout spot with huge banh mi. The owner was so nice to us he gave us sausage sample to try which was very delicious. The banh mi is thinner than places like Nyugen Huong but longer. Pâté Banh mi 5/5 very packed full of veggies on top of the spread. The pate was so good and flavourful too. I would recommend this to everyone and it's only 4.5$! Also tried the viet iced coffee and at $6 it is very strong and will definitely wake up you

New banh mi place that just recently opened in Kings Square. Owners are Vietnamese so can't get more authentic than that. They were really friendly and when we went, late afternoon, a lot of things were already sold out. The owner explained that it was bc they used fresh bought ingredients to maintain the quality of the food so when the needed ingredients run out, they don't sell the particular product. The place is small but there is an area with stools where you can sit and eat. We ordered some classics to try out, the cold cut banh mi and the fresh spring rolls. Both were delicious. The pate of the banh mi was really good and the amount of cold cuts and pickled carrot and radish in the sandwich was nice. They didnt hold back, which some places do. The fresh rolls were well made, we added beef to our shrimp rolls and they were delicious. Looking forward to coming back here to try out their other sandwiches.

Such a hidden gem! Recommend getting the crispy pork belly or their braised pork belly, as they are ones you typically don't see. The owner here is hilarious and gave us these recommendations, as well as the original one. They make these sandwiches fresh on the spot for you and they taste amazing!

In terms of ingredients, it was pretty standard for a BLT sandwich - nothing really stood out for me. I had more anticipation for the bread, since these sandwich should be known for amazing bread - but it was a little bland for me. It's like standard bread you could make yourself and not the fluffy or milky Japanese style ones. Their homemade creamy sauce was a good complimentary to the overall sandwich. A couple of Saturdays ago, I had the weirdest veal cutlet sandwich that I have ever consumed. This experience made me crave real veal in a yummy sandwich with marinara sauce. My usual go-to veal sandwich place is California Sandwiches. I have the option of hitting Ajax, Vaughan, or Toronto to get my fix. I need at least half an hour to get to any of these locations. I found East Street Sandwiches on Ritual. My eyes zoned into the veal sandwich immediately. I added mushrooms to it, which is my usual way that I like it. I saw arancini on the menu. The last time I had some was last year and it was horrible. The rice was so hard that I peeled it off as if it were the shell of a hard-boiled egg. The filling wasn't anything to write home about. I ordered the meat and peas arancino here, hoping that it wouldn't suck. I had plans to hit Richmond Hill last Wednesday anyway. It was perfect to grab some takeout for dinner before heading home. The eatery is tucked away in a small plaza with Fat Bastard and a few other places. There were guys cleaning the parking lot, so half the spaces were taken. I waited for two cars to leave this parking lot so I could park. One got out quickly. The person in other one looked so confused and was so inexperienced as a driver that I had to wait until this person got her act together. I then backed into a spot and headed inside. The most comforting detail that I saw on the window was that this place has been kicking around since 1978. If a place has been in business for that long, the food must be great. I headed inside. I was greeted by Bruce Springsteen on the wall. It was cool. An older gentleman was behind the counter. He was so nice. I indicated that I had a Ritual order. He handed me a paper bag with my items with both hands. I thanked him. I could tell by the look in his eyes that he was pleased to see a human being. I looked so forward to eating my food, wished him a great evening, and headed back to my car. I had one other errand to run. After I was done, I headed home to chow down. I had my veal sandwich first. Delicious! The veal as lightly breaded and had marinara sauce. I tend to like lots of sauce. This place doesn't smother the veal with tons of it. At first, I was concerned. However, the marinara sauce was so bright and flavourful that having less of it actually works perfectly. It was the first time eating a veal sandwich neatly. The bun was perfect. I normally look like a kid eating it without a bib. Not here. Yum! The meat and peas arancino was fantastic. The rice was lightly sticky and so good. I normally don't go crazy over rice, but I loved it so much. It's a decent size. The filling was yummy. The only negative that I can think of was that I did not see any peas. Maybe they were pureed? I couldn't tell. It wasn't horrible, as the flavourful meat filling made up for not seeing any peas. I am no longer afraid to get bad arancini now that I have found this place. Such a gem in Richmond Hill! It's much closer to get my veal sandwich fix here. Huge fan! I'll be back for more sandwiches and arancini. (353)

Was so impressed with the place, we decided to order a whole turkey for thanksgiving..it was alright, don't think we will be doing that again though. You pay by the pound after the meat has been cooked so it shrinks in size but still ends up being quite expensive. But I will stay the staff care so much about their products. They take great pride in what they make from the smoked meat to the turkey. Upon picking up the turkey, took the time to give me specific care instructions on how to store and reheat the bird. Come check out Sumilicious.

Amazing Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich!…read more Sumilicious is my favourite place for Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich! I highly recommend ordering their Smoked Meat Sandwich (~$17). The smoked meat tasted fresh, tender, and succulent and pairs well with mustard. I personally ask for extra mustard. If you're very hungry and can eat a lot, Small Plate of Smoked Meat (~$26) is perfect too, which includes enough smoked meat, slices of bread, and mustard packets for 1.5 sandwiches. I also love their Jar of Regular Pickles (~$7)! If you like pickles, their pickles pairs well with the Smoked Meat. Service is quick and isn't that busy during lunchtime. Good amount of seating available. Prices may be a tiny bit expensive but the quality of their Smoked Meat is great!

Tips: - Sandwiches and house-made slaws are made right in…read morefront of you. So fresh! - The soups are amazing. A couple of Saturdays ago, I had a late lunch with friends at Cryin' Ryan's. Ryan is the founder of the business, which he runs with family and friends. We got to meet Riott, his son, who had a love for skulls and all Halloween decorations at this eatery. This place specializes in sandwiches. Many of their meats are slow-cooked for ten hours. Sauces, soups, and slaw are homemade. We ordered many items off the menu and had what we liked: - Jalapeno and house slaws - Chickpea and ham soup - Roasted garlic and tomato soup - The Brooklyn (Italian) - Hot corned beef - Montreal smoked meat - Slicey's chopped chicken - Chicken club wrap I started with the hot corned beef sandwich. The corned beef was generous and so flavourful. The rye bread held all that tender corned beef together, along with the best grainy mustard aioli. I am a soup girl. I enjoyed the roasted garlic and tomato soup. It had the perfect amount of garlic with tomatoes, along with onions and spices. It was a comforting, smooth soup. The chickpea and ham soup was excellent. It had nice cubes of ham with chickpeas. It was so hearty and delicious. I also love slaw. The jalapeno and house slaws were crunchy. The former was creamy with a touch of heat. The latter was vinegar-based. You get the best of both slaw dressing worlds! I then had the Montreal smoked meat. It was full of the most tender smoked meat on rye bread with mustard. So good! I'm not sure how I managed to down Slicey's chopped chicken sandwich. It was so good that I did! It had slow-cooked chicken that was chopped with tomato, and red onion. It included the jalapeno slaw, along with white cheddar. It was messy to eat, but so worth it. The flavours were outstanding. This business supports other local businesses. The bread comes from a local bakery. It also features Purple Tongue hot sauces. Staff are super friendly and kind. They can craft a sandwich to your liking if you go with The Riott. There were two separate washroom stalls. I used one of them before I left this eatery. It was clean. No complaints. It's a comfortable place to hang out with friends over good food and drinks. I ended up having a Diet Coke and Crush cream soda during the two hours that we were here. They were cold and refreshing. It's street parking for three hours. It's free, which is nice. Alternatively, there is a parking lot across from this eatery. I look forward to returning for more good eats and soup. It's a gem of a sandwich place that happens to have awesome soups and slaw. (391)
