The BEST Bahn mi i had in GTA!! I love bahn mi and sandwiches, and ivr visited most of the famous spots around the GTA. This one is my number 1! The portion is huge - almost as long as my arm, and the baguette is crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy inside. The service was really nice and kind, though the lady doesn't speak English very well. There are no tables or chairs, so it's only for takeout!

3.5 STARS Newly opened inside FMP and had to give it a try. Cold cut banh mi costs me $6, I also got a Vietnamese iced coffee. Service was friendly, but EXTREMELY slow. I got 4 banh mi and it took about 20-25 minutes for them to finish making it. Vietnamese iced coffee tasted like the instant G7 coffee brand. Bread didn't taste as good, definitely need to toast it before eating. Toppings included cucumber and pickled carrots and daikon, they were a bit stingy on the mayo butter and pate though. I'd only come here if I'm too lazy to drive out to Scarborough for the OG Nguyen Huong banh mi.

New Banh mi spot in First Markham Place. We saw the line so figured why not give it a try? The staff were friendly but it was a long wait for our order. We ordered 4 banh mi to go and it was about 20 minute wait till it was ready. The banh mi was pretty average, nothing special to write about.

Small take out shop tucked inside First Markham Place. Really nice staff. Lots of selection for banh mi. They also have some other Vietnamese options including vermicelli and pho. Overall the assorted Vietnamese sandwich was solid and pricing is in line with the market for banh mi these days. Would try again if in the area.

As a self proclaimed banh mi connoisseur, I was super excited to finally try this place out! They have a decent amount of banh mi options and other full meal dishes as well, though it is a takeout place. I got the house special which comes with 3 types of meat for 8 bucks. That's a pretty decent price for banh mi these days. The owner was really nice as well. I thought that there was a good amount of filling for the price, the pate ratio was on point, and the pickled veggies added a nice fresh crunch. I personally like my banh mi a bit chewier and wider so the ends of this one was quite tough for me. However that does not take away from the taste at all. The cold cut banh mi is only 6 bucks so I'll definitely be back to try that one out.

Picked up a classic cold cut ($6) to try. The bread is good, they give enough pickled veg, and the cold cuts itself taste good, but they don't put in all that much paté or meat. Nothing particularly wrong with the banh mi but it's average.

They had a separate menu for curry options, and that I'm always drawn to a good curry. This stir fry was so flavourful and sweet and spicy at once. It was the perfect portion size for me, and I was able to bring some home to enjoy for another meal. I definitely plan on returning and trying new dishes, because there's soooo many good options to pick from. There is an hour seating limit as it gets quite busy, yet the busyness of the restaurant didn't make us feel cramped at all. It had a personal and homey feel to it with the walls covered in all sorts of drawings. Overall, this was a great experience! I'm looking forward to coming again.

A few highlights from my recent visit: - The manager at the cashier is super friendly! - Food (especially pho) comes out quickly, tasty, & satisfying. The broth is rich though looks unassuming at first. Portions are reasonable and balanced, meaning that you're not getting a few slices of beef to a large amount of noodles. - Price wise, it's reasonable (though I wouldn't say it's the cheapest pho in the area, but the quality is there!). Note that they do have a 1hr seating time limit, which I appreciate because it probably helps shorten the wait time :)

The restaurant itself is beautiful, and service was quick and efficient throughout the meal. One thing I liked is that the pho only comes in one size, which is basically equivalent to a large bowl at most other spots. The broth was so good that I barely needed to add anything besides bean sprouts, basil, and a squeeze of lime. It was light, clean, and incredibly comforting. There was a generous amount of meat, especially beef tendon, and the portion overall was huge. It's rare for me to struggle to finish a bowl of pho, but this one had me tapping out near the end. Definitely understand why this spot is such a Scarborough favorite.

A special mention goes to their 海訪蟹肉春卷 BUN NEM CUA BE, they're generously filled, with large pieces of shrimp and fresh crab meat . The service was also excellent and warm atmosphere. The only downside was the Vietnamese coffee--it was so watery and tasteless. Still, compared to last time, I added a bit to my rating. Overall, I'd give it 3.5 stars.

First off everything was not bad but I found it to be just average tasting nothing blew me away. I must note that the satay chicken skewers were way too spicy, to the point where it was literally inedible. It's not a bad location. Inside the T&T plaza at woodbine and 16th. Not sure if I'll be back to try the pho as it doesn't look overwhelming judging by this appetizer platter. It's a shame, I really love pho and wanted to love this place. But, there are many Vietnamese restaurants around and I don't think this one will be in my rotation. Sorry folks, my recommendation is try Pho Anh Vu or Ngon Corner which are nearby.

We started our meal with some appetizers - Spring Rolls, and Shrimp Rolls. They were huge and delicious, a sign of things to come. My cousins had the Rare Beef and Beef Ball Pho, Rare Beef and Flank Pho, and the Grilled Pork Vermicelli. The pho broth was rich in flavour, and very tasty. The grilled pork was delicious, with a nice charred flavour. I had the Beef Rib Bones Pho that included three meaty rib bones, and a knuckle bone with rich marrow. This dish is so huge, it's served in two bowls! It was a little awkward to eat because the bones were so large. I ended up taking home half of it to enjoy later. This dish is more than enough for sharing! Everything we had was very flavourful, with huge portions. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was very inviting. I highly recommend Lang Chai.
