You would never know there was a lovely hidden gem located in this strip mall in Johnston, but that's exactly what this Thai restaurant is. I found a great offer on Groupon and met my sister there around 5 pm. I was surprised to see what a nice interior this restaurant had. There were only a couple customers at this time and we took a seat at the bar. I ordered one of their Asian beers and we started looking through the menu. The very nice bartender told us about the popular dishes and we took his advice and were not disappointed. We sampled the soft spring rolls, crab rangoons, Kow Piek, and Tom Yum soup. Everything was truly fresh and delicious. I regretted not ordering the fried ice cream that I saw being delivered to another customer's table. Such great service and awesome food. I'll definitely be returning soon to sample their combination plates. I wish I could remember the bartender's name, he was a sweetheart!

Crispy duck Not so crispy...

Got takeout here once. Very disappointed by the drunken noodles which were soggy and bland. The portion for our duck curry was very generous - a whole roasted duck leg chopped up and there were plenty of veggies. Their curry was quite sweet and this seemed to be a common theme here based on other reviews. They are also a bit heavy on coconut milk in my opinion. Not sure if I will come back.

Green curry!! I asked them to make it very, very spicy, and they delivered the perfect balance of fire and flavor!

Rad-as-hell place with phenomenal food, an immaculate dining room, and a great, friendly staff. Went here for the first time tonight, and we will DEFINITELY be coming back. My son loved his sticky rice and scallion pancakes. My wife and I ordered the following assortment of food: cucumber salad, vegetarian spring rolls, red curry, and green curry. Every dish was INCREDIBLE. I also want to thank the kitchen for coming through and making my green curry very, very, very spicy. I LOVE hot food, and they delivered the perfect balance of fire and flavor! Can't wait to go back!

What a lovely little spot in this strip mall. Nice and clean and bright. We ordered over the phone for pickup. I had trouble finding a good menu online from which to order. So many take out menus now are through a delivery company and are not what you would get or pay for at the restaurant. We were looking for a combination plate and it was listed on the menu that we saw online but it didn't say what was included. So I finally ended up calling the restaurant to ask about it and told them that I was having trouble finding a menu to order from. The woman who answered the phone and helped me was very nice and very helpful. She said that there was some slight problem with the menu online but she was more than willing to help us and to take our order. I told her that we were interested in a combination plate and she described them as the different kinds of meats that you could get: chicken, beef, shrimp etc. You could also choose a sauce that would come on the meat and vegetables. The sauces were different depths of spiciness and she was very helpful to make sure that we got what we would like the best. We also had a choice of white or brown rice or sticky rice which was nice. We got there about 15 minutes after we had ordered and Mike went into the restaurant and it was almost ready. He just had to wait a couple of minutes. We drove in the parking lot which was very spacious and parked right in front of the store. We also ordered some sticky wings and we brought everything home to eat. The sticky wings were excellent because they were kind of sweet and kind of spicy. Mike got the beef combination plate with vegetables that was not very spicy and he enjoyed it. I ordered a medium spice combination dish with chicken. My choices were ginger or basil sauce and I asked the woman to make the decision for me because they both sounded so good. I think I got the basil. Mine was good but not really highly seasoned. I thought there would be more flavor to it. It was good but not great. We got a nice portion of each lunch combo and there were 6 wings in the order. Just enough for lunch. We would definitely go back to try other dishes and look forward to the day when we can sit inside and enjoy the atmosphere.

Mini Thai Rolls - yummmm

Grabbed takeout a while back and really enjoyed it. Came for lunch last week and still feel the same. Good food made well and very reasonably priced. The place isn't very big but is brightly lit and welcoming with a decent sized bar. Located at the corner end of a strip of places including Luigi's - I'm thinking parking can get packed on busy nights. First time I ordered Thai mini rolls, papaya salad (Laos style) and Larb Gai. Everything was good. They didn't ask how spicy I wanted the papaya salad - man it was sa-sa-sa-picy but oh so good! This led me to wanting to come back. This time for dine in - we ordered Thai mini rolls, papaya salad, wings and Lad Na (wide rice noodles w/ your choice of meat in a soy sauce gravy). We asked the papaya salad to be mild - we should've asked for spicier. Flavor was good but papaya salad is always better spicy. Wings and rolls were good - nice hot and crispy! The lad na was good but there was what looked like little beans in the dish that I could've done without - had to pick hose little suckers off. Other than that, everything was delicious. Service was great - attentive and friendly. This is def a good spot for Asian cuisine and I look forward to coming back.

Thai 'Thai Noodle Soup

I ordered via a delivery service, ordered the Thai noodle soup which was advertised to have your choice of meat, noodles, bean sprouts, and multiple other toppings. I got a plain broth with about 5 pieces of chicken. That's it.

Wow this place went from being really good to just plain awful. Nothing is the same anymore. I order the crispy duck and get half the duck I used to get burnt and soggy taste like leather like it was sitting around and just got refried. Duck was totally unseasoned and instead of on a bed of crispy kale like they used to it comes on a bed of soggy unseasoned frozen veggies. Paid 35 bucks for a disgusting inedible meal.

Recently, I visited this local spot with my grandson because we had a Groupon. It was a week night, so it wasn't crowded. It's located in a strip mall, so there is parking. We were greeted and seated immediately. The place is small but nicely appointed and decorated. My only criticism is that the upholstery on the bench seats, which run along the entire side wall, are in need of repair. There were cracks and tears all along them. Otherwise, it was pristine. Since I was dining with a youth, we ordered the crispy chicken tenders for an appetizer. They were surprisingly good: Nice, moist white meat with a crunchy coating. I also had a bowl of Tom Yum soup with shrimp. The ingredients were as fresh as I've ever had. The mushrooms could have been garden picked minutes before and I swear the shrimp were swimming in the ocean when I arrived. Well done! For dinner, we decided on the House chicken fried rice and the chicken pad Thai. Both were very good. Again, the chicken was freshly made and appeared to have been hand torn from the bone instead of the often uniform little chunks that appear in many restaurant dishes. The servings were ample enough that we had doggy bags, including all but the soup. Since it wasn't terribly busy, the bartender assisted the only waitress on duty by delivering drinks as well as food when needed. The service was excellent and friendly. I'd definitely return or maybe get take-out from Bangkok Republik in the near future!

Excellent Thai food Brought the kids and they enjoyed the crab Rangoon which was extra stuffed and nicely golden fried, the wings the kids loved, and the pork dumplings were a hit. We enjoyed the chicken pad Thai very well flavored. Also tried the shrimp shumai which was tasty. Nice spot for great food

Once inside, it's cozy, classy and impressively clean to the eye! Service was excellent - water glasses were kept full at all times. I ordered Pad Thai with crispy chicken and an order of fresh rolls. The fresh roll sauce was different from any I've ever had. Sort of a more peanut hoisin-like feel as opposed to the lighter peanut dressing. I loved it. The server asked how spicy we wanted our dishes, using a level of 1-5. Most said 2 but I went for 4 because no place ever makes it with enough of a kick when I ask for spicy. Well my 4 knocked my socks off. Only later did we find out that both servers can't even eat at a level 4!! That would have been grrrrreat to know ahead of time! Hahaaaa but it was delicious and I'd probably be silly enough to say "4" again! Prices were on par with other good Thai restaurants. We will definitely be back!

Our server, Jaokhun, was the most cheerful and bouncy and efficient person we have ever had! We ordered a large Mai Thai bowl to share - more than we would normally do. It came to $60, to which we added a generous tip. We like the vibe here and resolved to return with a shorter absence.

I had done some research and knew it was a small space so I was praying there would be enough open tables. When we talked in, there were about 3 tables open. It took a bit to get seated since the host/ server was busy getting together online orders and bringing out food to other customers. But after a couple minutes, we were allowed to pick our own table. They have 3 two person tables to the left, on an elevated platform. To the far front of the space, there were two booths which could easily fit 4 people each. To the right there were 3 tables for 4-5 people each. We went with the bigger table, but moved after a couple minutes to another table for a more private setting. For an appetizer, we put in an order of crab rangoons. As my entrée, I ordered the Khao Soi with seafood and my friend ordered the beef salad which comes with sticky rice. The crab rangoons came out after about 10 minutes. They looked crispy, and were wrapped in a cute, round way. The filling wasn't as creamy as I wish it would be, but it did taste a bit healthier than regular Chinese take out. The entress came out after about another 10 minutes. My Khao Soi came out with a big bowl, with some lime and peanuts on the side. I asked for more lime and cilantro on the side. The broth was a very vibrant color, creamy, sweet, a little tangy from the lime, and because of the cilantro had a fresh and clean flavor. I loved the combination of all the flavors, and it reminded me of a curry. The noodles were soft, but not falling apart and there was a good amount of it. There was plenty of seafood including calamari, shrimp, and mussels. The calamari was a little tough but the other items were good. I loved the crispy shallots on top as they provided an additional sweet but savory element. I finished the entire thing. My friend's salad was good. It was simple in that it was salads and herbs with minced meat but it tasted good. The sticky rice came in a ball wrapped in aluminum foil, and then put into their authentic little basket so it was full to pull apart. They do have a dessert menu and we were offered some, but I had no space. It seemed like the server was handling a lot at once so kudos to him and the small but mighty team in the back cooking everything up. I would be interested in trying other items on their menu.
