The food was mostly tasty and spicy and filling, and the service was nice, but I honestly can't recommend it. It's breathtakingly expensive for what you get. Detailed comparison: I will compare it to my favorite hole-in-the-wall chinese place, China Chef Maumee. For lunch, both places offer the entree, rice, and a side of hot&sour soup. The entrees were comparable, both are good. Rice: China Chef gives you fried rice with a small amount of diced veg mixed in, while Bangkok is plain white rice. The side of hot&sour soup Bangkok offers is of visibly lower quality of ingredients and literally half the size of the China Chef tub of soup. The kicker is, Bangkok charges more than twice as much for this pickup order out the door! China Chef: $6.75(no sales tax). Bangkok: $14, including sales tax (?) and a $1.50 convenience fee (!). If the cost were the same, China Chef would still have the edge. But at more than double the cost...can't recommend it. A convenience fee for a pickup order? Nah. Just nah. read more

We were passing through this area on I-80 picking up our new sailboat and decided to eat donner here, based on awesome Yelp reviews and recommendations. We are so glad to have found this place! When we arrived, we saw a sign on the door indicating take out only, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We respect restaurants that err on the side of caution, because they care about their customers and employees more than just profitability. We ended ordering 1 batch of Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) and another batch of Oad Korat, a house specialty, based on the owners hometown in Thailand. We love spicy so we ordered spice level HOT. They did not dissapoint! We also requested for these 2 orders to be split in 1/2 between the 2 to go containers so we would both be able to try both dishes, and they came through. The order only took 10 minutes of wait time even at a busy 6:30 pm dinner hour. Both dishes were delicious and plentiful! Going back home to visit is always a pleasure, but when it comes to going to local restaurants you are not sure what to expect. Will it be closed, horrible food, dirty, have poor service or all of the above? Well we tried this place since it is always hyped up by friends on FB and this place did not disappoint. We are those ppl for whom if our noses aren't running and we aren't sweating while eating spicy food then it's just not food. This place DELIVERED! I actually couldn't believe that our spicy food was actually hot for once! We were starving so for a while all you could hear was us gobbling our food and sniffling and slurping water. Do not order hot unless you like spicy food. Portions are generous, esp the pad Thai. I included a pic of the pad Thai after I'd been eating that bad boy for a while and there is plenty left for later. Hub's pad kra pow was tasty! Chicken was moist and garlicky and fragrant. The white rice was cooked well. We also ordered a side of spring rolls which were perfect. They were so light and crispy that first they shattered and then melted in your mouth. This is a problematic convergence of conditions. I'm a big guy who can eat a lot, I am a cheapskate (did you notice them $5 Target Red Blend?) who doesn't wanna leave leftovers in a hotel room, and I love me some Drunken Noodles! Traveling in cities large and small, selling equipment, I have made it a point to sample Pad Kee Mao at every place that I can, as long as it at least looks marginally safe. I have to say that this is the best I've had in recent years. On top of that, the seafood Rangoon what would be great for anyone regardless of their tolerance of spice. As far as the noodles go, I love things really hot and the medium was plenty for me. Since I don't have an off-switch when it comes to this stuff, I really wish I would've asked for a lunch portion. It could've been a lot better. I ordered the Pad Kra Prow Thai Style with chicken, but the order was served with a very sparse amount of chicken, and it was also very soupy. Although the flavor was good, I believe that the flavor was not infused into the overall dish it was more like a sauce that had to be poured over rice to be eaten. Nothing very special about it. The summer rolls were nothing special. Only one small shrimp inside an overly large wrap with a lot of tasteless filling. The pad Thai was very good with lots of flavor. However, we ordered it with tofu, which was also very sparse. This restaurant has a lot of potential, but I don't think it was hitting the mark this evening. I ordered take out through yelp/grubhub. My order was ready on time and perfectly packaged. Staff were nice and professional and the inside of the restaurant was pretty cute. There were tables if you want to dine in and plenty of parking. The Pad Woonsen was probably the best I've ever had. It was FULL of flavor. I ordered mine spicy with tofu. Bangkok is the best Thai in the area, plus all Thai we have we compare to them. Since Covid, it is all order out but it's still amazing food. This most recent order was for a friend and myself for lunch, the men later hearing we did this, were sorry they weren't included. The order was to be ready in 15 minutes at the height of lunch hour, since I wasn't going to be ready to pickup I said 30 minutes, it was ready and hot when I picked up. My friend ordered the country noodles with shrimp and medium heat and was not disappointed, she had enough for lunch the next day. I ordered the noodle soup that I have never ordered, with chicken. My only disappointment was that there were no mushrooms, the lunch order has it included but the dinner order did not, there maybe an error on the menu, I'll be sure to ask when ordering in the future. I like the fact that all but the chicken and broth was in a separate container. I had enough left over for dinner that night. We also ordered a summer roll with shrimp that we split. So good, still the best I've ever had and the peanut sauce is yummy. The only downside is that they charge an additional 3.5% to use a credit card, come prepared with cash if you don't want to pay the additional. read more

Personally, I prefer Rose Thai on Monroe street, but since I'm here... While picking up my order, I noticed that they have a small but "fully" stocked bar. I'm wondering if the presence of alcohol in your system might help to alleviate some of that initial "Jesus, why am I eating strip-mall Thai again?" feeling that you might have. Don't drink too much, however, because if my experience is indicative, you will want your taste buds to be fully functional. I had the Pad Thai (hot, chicken), the panang curry (hot, tofu) and the massamun curry (chicken, hot) to go. Very good curry, BUT, the chicken itself had no taste what so ever. I assume this is because they warmed it up separately and then added it to the curry, after the fact. There was no time for the curry taste to saturate the chicken. I might be wrong about this, but that sure is how it tasted. MINUS 1. The tofu was surprisingly better. The menu is large, and the selections diverse. The food I saw on the tables seemed well presented. I also noted that they serve Thai tea and Thai iced coffee too! Perfect to get ready for any all-nighter, whatever the reason! However, the waiter and waitress were active and provided pretty fast service. Once l looked on the menu, there were variety options. The price was a little high compared to other Thai restaurants, but their portion was BIG. I really like this place for their authentic Thai taste. when I started eating here, it was not well known. I would go for lunch from work. the word got around on how good this place really is. Good for them bad for me, now the place gets plenty of costumers because they too realized, this is probably the best in the area. I am retired now and live more than 40 minutes away. I miss that bowl of Hot and sour Chicken soup more than you can imagine. YOU know everyone has that one dish, that you feel you just cannot get enough of, well this place has several of them, and to start them off with that soup. I cannot drive every day to go get it. This place is a solid 3 star. The food is fresh and the ambiance is typical of most Thai restaurants. The reason I'm giving it 3 instead of 4 stars is because of a very mediocre Massaman curry. I expect a Thai restaurant to have a tried and true, amazing Massaman, and this place just didn't deliver. The curry was fine, sure, but it didn't really taste like anything except for spice and coconut milk. I certainly wouldn't have it again. On the other hand, their chicken spring rolls were awesome! Very fresh and perfectly fried. I'm also a huge fan of Thai Iced tea, and they have a rum Thai tea. I hadn't thought of making a Thai tea alcoholic, but it was delicious. Holy Spice! I asked my Mom to take me some place with a little heat and boy did she deliver. On my last day in town, before heading up to Detroit Airport, my Mom and I came by Bangkok Kitchen for some lunch. The place was surprisingly crowded, as it is a little hole in the wall in a strip mall off Dussel, but we were seated right away. To start, I ordered a cup of Tom Yum soup with chicken. And for my entree, I chose the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles). I ordered both of my dishes with "medium" spice; I wasn't sure this was going to be spicy enough because I have a pretty high spice tolerance but it was definitely spicy. I was going through glasses of water and napkins to wipe my running nose like crazy. The food, in addition to being spicy, had great fresh flavor. The noodles were cooked to perfection and combined with the chicken and the veggies made a great, filling meal. I now have a new favorite Thai place to come to the next time I visit Toledo. read more

The Pad Thai had an nice flavor. Not overly sweet and I could taste the tamarind. Well done. The garlic chicken was also good, it had a garlicky sauce and also crispy garlic on top of the chicken. Avoid the Panang, the curry had a consistency of water. It tasted like spicy chicken water. We also ordered Thai iced coffee, which was mostly just sweet tasting. The chicken satay was mediocre. The peanut sauce had no other flavor that sweet peanut butter. The chicken was tender, but very little flavor. When I got there (on the very early side for dinner, 5:30pm) The place was packed. They graciously took my name and seated me when I returned at the time they suggested. I'd go back if I was in the neighborhood, but I'm not rushing. read more

I was struggling between 3 and 4 stars, but I will let it slide this time. Ordered Sweet Basil Stir Fry with Shrimp add beef, was charged for extra but no beef at all. Only 4 pieces of tiny shrimps. However, flavor was good, spice was there. I would suggest the restaurant separate the rice and the dish.
