We've ordered takeout twice from bananas grill. Both times we were extremely disappointed. We arrived for pick-up when they said it would be ready (10 minutes, awesome right!)....... We arrived to an empty restaurant, a worker came out and asked what we would like. We explained we ordered to-go 2 lamb gyros and a greek salad. He said, "let me get that started." The 2 lamb gyros each had 3 strips of meat, iceberg lettuce, 1/4 slice of tomato, and drenched in cucumber/garlic sauce in our gyros...super lame. Our greek salad was a bunch of iceberg lettuce and a slice of green pepper. thats it. There are plenty of great places in seattle to get a gyro and greek salad, i advise going there instead, skip this skimpy, non-authentic restaurant. read more

I hadn't realized that I had a close Mediterranean place until I saw it on the Plate of Nations passport, but I'm definitely going to eat there more now. You can never really trust this place. You order a beef and lamb plate, they forget to pack your pita. You order a falafel sandwich, they forget to pack it. You ask for white sauce, they pack ranch dressing. You order wings, they give you the wings, but only 3/5 are all the way cooked. However, when they're firing on all four cylinders, they're the best halal spot in Seattle, seriously. The food here is the best, which is why I hate giving them 2/5 stars. But they deserve it. How would you like to order your favorite food from the best spot in town, knowing your order is either going to be missing something or not be cooked properly. Should my fiance call the restaurant to remind them not to forget her falafel sandwich? Do I need to preheat the oven just in case I need to continue cooking my wings? No to both questions, but we will because we know and Bananas knows that their food is the best. Here's the deal: the 2-star rating stands until we get some consistency. We had the sharable set menu, which came with shawarma chicken, lamb/beef gyro, grilled fish, rice, tasty dolmas, crunchy falafel with hummus and salad...and a yummy complimentary lentil soup appetizer...more than enough food for two people with leftovers, and such friendly smiles and service by everyone we encountered. One thing that I really love about banana grill is that it's very clean . Including the employees look very clean and professional . I waited to write a review because I wanted to try out there delivery . You have to order over 30$ for then to come to you . I ordered 4 lamb gyros a falafel salad and some fries . Gyros were perfect as usual . The dressing on the side for my salad wasn't my favorite though . There falafel tastes very different from other places, it's a lot less salty but it's more crunchy which I like . The driver was super nice and they told me it would be 45 mins to an hour but it came in about 30ish . What a nice place - went there today with my 2 year old son and enjoyed the chicken kebabs. They were seasoned perfectly ad clearly freshly made - tender and juicy. The rice was also well seasoned and cooked very nicely. We had fries too which were hot, light, and not greasy which I really like. The gentleman who took our order also gave us some lentil soup which was really delicious. The kicker though is that there is a playground within 10 feet literally of back door. For kids that is fantastic - we went afterwards but if it was a nice day you could totally do a take out picnic from here at the playground. I had high expectations from this restaurant based on the Yelp reviews. The food is fresh, well priced and the complimentary lentil soup was delicious. I had the chicken kebab entree and didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped. The spice mix used on the chicken, the hummus and rice had a sweetness to it that I just didn't like. My husband didn't mind it and liked his shawarma wrap. The flavor just didn't do it for me so I won't be back. read more

I just moved here from the East Coast, so I'm used to having Fresh Falafel avalable regularly. These Falafels were small and dry and tasted frozen and re-heated. I work near here and it is one of the few places to get food in the area, so I tried it again for lunch. The Greek Salad which was shown w/ grape leaves and cheese and anchovies, had none of these things. Literally just chopped up iceberg lettuce, peppers and onions with some vinegar and oil. Not worth $2 and I spent $7 or $8. I really wanted to like the food here. I love Mediterranean food. This is a no go. read more

Delicious! The food was wonderful, from the tasty falafel to a great shawarma to a really really good hummus. Plus, the customer service was lovely. Friendly and helpful, we felt welcomed as friends even though it was our first time here. A great community feel, as families and groups of teenagers eat and laugh over the tasty food. The owner, with his trademark giant smile, even brought us over complimentary cups of lentil soup while we waited for our entree. Tried for the first time tonight.... My fiance recently started working near this place (about 5 minutes from our home) and asked if I wanted it to go.. I said sure "Get me the Gyro Plate". This was about 5:45 pm. Finally, she gets home at about 7. She told me she brought up the fact that other people who seemed to know the staff received their order before her 4 times. She asked the girl at the front twice about it and both times she said "Oh I know, I know, I already told the chefs", NOT A VALID REASON!!! The food gets home, I had "Gyro Plate" (9.99) and my fiance just had a "Gyro" (5.99). First thing I noticed is her 5.99 Gyro looked to be more food!. Mine was a little Gyro meat on top of rice with a tiny bit a "salad" (lettuce) and 1/2 of a pita cut in quarters. So basically we had the same thing (she had 1/2 more pita and I had some rice) but mine was almost twice as much. NOW, for eating... My Gyro meat pieces were basically hard as rock on edges (someone older than me would of cracked a tooth), and like beef jerky the rest of the way through. Same story from the fiance. If I had to say 1 positive, I'd weave through the awful experience and say their rice was delicious, perfectly cooked, and well seasoned. BUT THAT'S IT. Next time I don't want to cook and need a quick meal, a bowl of raisin bran is a better choice!!!!!!!!! read more
