My go-to for a last minute ensemble. I usually visit store ONLY to gauge colors and textures, then order online. However, I purchased a couple of items in store discovered makeup stains (didn't notice until I arrived home). I returned them, sadly to discover there were no more in my size. This BR is located inside Galleria. Its two floors. Men section on the first floor and Women on the second floor. Selections are good. Its nice to walk in but there are not a lot of sales. I mean it is inside Galleria so don't expect big sales here. I did go inside and I did buy a shirt. Which was nice. There wasn't any service here. Of course this location is conveniently located within the galleria. The mens section is on the bottom floor while the women's section is located upstairs. Fashion matters - whether your a high powered attorney, hard working college student, or world saving IT professional (ahem). What you are wearing says something about you. The quality of the clothes is great (at least for guys) and they offer a wide variety of options as well as help with locating something not in the store (either available another location or online). Service is like any retail outlet - for the most part though all of my experiences with the different attendants has been great. They've been insightful, helpful and given me my space to shop without feeling like they are hovering over me. If you are a guy looking for places to get some quality clothing - you want to make this one of your visits. The obvious is that I keep coming back and will continue to do so - I recommend this for guys. read more

The selection is terrible here and I always run into someone I know that I am actively trying to avoid. The clearance aisle is a joke unless you are shopping for a chubby hubby and looking to snag a great deal on a 6XL, or as it is more commonly referred to in the French speaking world, a freaking circus tent converted into a mu'umu'u. I have always enjoyed this particular store in the Galleria because it's so big and has a huge selection. Unfortunately, it seems like their staff just doesn't give a crap because its such a big store. My girlfriend had seen a dress at this store at 40% off and had tried it on. The store was having a store wide 40% off all regular-priced items. She didn't pull the trigger just yet in the store and decided to buy it online (where it was also 40% off) when she got home. Sadly, it shipped to us as the wrong color and the wrong size. Sure, mistakes happen. You would think that a B&M (bricks & mortar) location would allow you to swap it out, so we went back to this store. The rude and arrogant girl working the register deliberately gave us a hard time and blatantly lied to us. She made no effort to make the exchange and just kept saying the computer wouldn't let her do it. She also claimed that we could only return the online dress, which had been 40% off, and then buy the dress at regular price. Why? "I work everyday and this dress has never been on sale." Are you kidding me? You guys had a store wide 40% off all regular-priced items just the week before. This girl obviously does not work everyday, has no idea of the promos the store is running, or just felt the urge to lie to our faces. The manager was not being helpful at all either, and also just kept saying the computer can't do it. Don't lie to me again. I know that a manager isn't that helpless. Other BRs and retail store managers have gladly hard keyed in discounts when appropriate. I don't think the employees at this BR store have ever heard of the term customer service. The next day, I called another BR store that had the dress in stock. After an explanation of the mixup, they instantly allowed me to buy that dress in the correct size, color, and 40% off. Manager is a douche at this location. I bought 2 dress pants from here and have worn them for a few months and both have loosened from the hem. I have cheaper pants from Perry Ellis I have worn longer. Regardless of this I like BR pants because of fit and comfort. I asked if there was anything that could be done and he said no because they've been worn a few months and don't have a receipt (I always enter my phone number when making purchases so I'm positive they can pull it up with that or my credit card). Fair enough but pants that retail for $100 should not fall apart this quickly. He mentioned I can get that fixed for $3 at a tailor. No shit Einstein. He did continue by offering to fix it in store if I brought it in and when I said I'll probably do that next time I have a chance he just laughed in a snarky manner and walked away. Never once has someone offered a solution to me in such a condescending manner. I would encourage anyone who values customer service to avoid this location like the plague. read more

OMG! Out like a bandit with 35% off sale and additional 10% with BR card! I usually don't stop by either, but I just happened to be nearby and thought, why not? Wow, gorgeous work dresses (MAD MEN STYLE FOR CURVY WOMEN) now only $50-60 and lots cute camisoles and sweater cardigan sets, too. I stayed an hour...and that was just in women's section. I think I must applaud any store that dedicates a brick-and-mortar to petite sizing. For those of us with a short inseam and a big love of fitting clothes without alterations, this is a must. Banana Republic Petites has decent square footage -- 3 presentation areas with fitting rooms in the back. They still have a smaller accessories area. This store is very chaotic. Huge, but chaotic. I'm rating this it as 3 stars because although it's huge, it doesn't seem to have that much more of a selection than Rice Village or Highland Village. In fact, I've found that Rice Village and Highland Village usually have more stock than this store. The staff is a hit or miss- some can be helpful, others can be kind of aloof. I was in dire need of work clothes the day before starting my new job (and also the day before they closed for COVID safety). I was trying on the Sloan pants and was checked on by an attendant. She gently suggested I try on a different style in the Sloan pants, so I did. I was so touched that she was so gentle about finding a better-fitting pair of pants and worked with me to explain why it fit my body type better. She was gentle and kind and so good at dressing me (and the others trying on clothes in the fitting room) according to our body type. Checking out, the cashier mentioned that she does that with everyone and is really good at helping find clothes to compliment body types. Lucky to have found Natalia! I always have to stop in here anytime I am in the Galleria to browse through the sale racks. If I ever need business cloths I come here first. Its a very large store with men downstairs and women upstairs. Its also a very busy store, so you will need to be patient on busy days. The dressing rooms is where I have the majority of my problems. It can be hard to find someone to let you in to the dressing room, or take the clothes that didn't fit back. I have made several purchases and come back often! read more

Petite only! The staff all offered help and to start a room for me in the fitting room. The space is the size of any other but this one for Petite only. I was able to buy 2 dresses for $35 each. It was additional 50% on the mark down price. The entire store was 40% on regular price items. Unfortunately, reg stores and outlets have different rules on coupons. Although I'm a huge Banana Fan, this is my absolute least favorite location. The staff isn't at all helpful and there is always a better selection (at least in my size) at Highland Village. I breezed through yesterday to hear two sales assistants complaining about customers loudly. They were complaining that people mess up the folded sweaters and put sizes back in the wrong spot. I love BR, but in the past few years, I am beginning to find less and less that I like here. The quality is obviously still high, but the designs and what-not have become questionable to me. Reading the complaints about this store was weird to me because my experiences here have been the exact opposite. First off, the staff has always been really helpful and friendly when I've shopped here. They also never hesitate to throw me any potential discount they can which sits pretty well with me. The clothes are very well laid out and its not hard to find what you want. The product is usually pretty high quality in my experience, and for its price I would expect nothing less. The clothes are classic but with a degree of style and quality that sets them apart from similar items available at other department stores. Went in for a quick look after seeing the standard 30% off all regularly priced items sign on the outside. Not overly busy for a Saturday early afternoon. Found a shirt (indeed full price, however it had the sticker mark on the tag where you know it was reduced at one point, and then taken back off to go up to full price... annoying, but hey 30% off). I waited to try it on. Fits. Alright. Get in line to pay - and it rings up for the listed price, however the 30% doesn't come off. The sales lady called another staff member over (assuming the mgr) who needed to work on her social skills and tells me that it isn't eligible for the 30% off because it is "excluded". (However no where does it indicate this on any sign - the only thing listed as exclusions were coats or something not even close to the button up shirt I had). Her attitude was irritating, to put it nicely. I later went to visit the free standing Banana in Highland village down Wertheimer - and when it rang up at the other store - no hesitation from the staff - He grabbed a calculator to get the amount off - and gave it to me for the price - just like the signs indicated. HORRIBLE SERVICE! Tried to purchase a jacket, placed it on hold at another store. Galleria decided to misplace it or don't even check messages directly sent to them from the manager at the other store front. My husband found it himself and the person that was "helping" us ignored us and was not even attentive. He helped the lady that was waiting after me since she was buying 3 coats during Black Friday. Big deal! Don't think her purchase was any special than mine, I am also a paying customer! Very angry about my experience and my entire family loves to shop there, but I honestly don't think I want to support banana republic and their rude behavior. Since I wasn't dressed like I was going to church during BLACK FRIDAY, doesn't make me a damn peasant! The sales man had an oversized suit that was way too large and a smug look! The manager "seemed to care" but probably didn't give to sh*ts about the issue. Let me start off by saying I love BR and Gap. I have been shopping there for over 10 years. However, the manager at BR in the galleria (I believe her name is Donna) is the rudest manager I have ever come across in any service industry role. I went in to get my sister a Christmas present. I found a cute necklace, regular price, and asked a kind associate if there were extras in the back since this one was scratched. She looked and came back and said this was the only one. She offered me a discount and I decided I'd get the necklace and keep it for myself since it was a small scratch but definitely not perfect for a gift. I went to pay and told the cashier I was told I could get a discount per what the previous associate told me. The cashier gets the manager and the manager rudely comes over and asks to me "what do you want?" I said I was looking for a brand new necklace however I was told there weren't any more and therefore wanted a discount for the visible scratch as the associate had told me previously. She rudely cuts me off and searches and says that they actually do have more. I was elated since I did want to give this as a gift. However, the manager proceeds to lecture me about how the stands have drawers and shows me that there is a drawer and how more are in there. I asked her how i was supposed to know there were more if someone told me there were none left and those drawers are locked. I can't go into them. Also, I very well understand that, however, I asked another associate for help previously and I am in no way searching for a freebie. After losing my place in line (during the holidays this can be a huge wait) and getting the necklace from the manager, I ask "How can I pay for this - - do I wait back in line" She stares at me for like 30 seconds then says "Well I suppose you can wait to the side and see if a cashier will help you?" Really? There are kinder ways to talk to a customer. That's all I ask of someone. BR needs to get rid of this manager. She is bad news for the brand and should not be working in service industry. read more

On several occasions now, I have attempted to Reserve in Store and I have never received an email denying the reserve or saying that it is ready. I hate to leave a bad review because of one employee, but he was rude, and could care less about being there. Sat (2/20) around 5-6pm. I'm a freqent BR shopper. Was in the store recently and received poor service due a lack of product knowledge on behalf of the sales associates. It's sad when I know more about what's sold by the company than those that work there. Had I not been persistent, I would have left without the item I came to get. How hard is it to just go check in the back if you have something? Why argue with the customer saying it doesn't come in a certain color, when it turns out, it does come in that color? I think I will grow into the style of Banana Republic as I get older. Every time I go in, I'm drawn to the sale signs, but nothing ever really grabs my attention. I just don't like the color palette. If I'm going to wear color, it's going to be colorful. I don't like the drab shades that Banana Republic likes to push as mature and sophisticated. Maybe in ten years that will be me, but not at this moment. I won't argue with quality though. The fabrics feel like they belong in a much more expensive store, and the fits are nicely tailored for slim bodies, which is right up my alley. For casual wear, I think there are cheaper stores that offer more virbrant colors and patterns. But I do think the dress wear is very nice. If you're going for a more conservative, Sunday brunch with the family look, then Banana Republic is great. If you want individuality and a sense of personal style, then that's a no. Unfortunately this is one brand that works best when put together as an outfit. You can't really pull one piece and put it with something else. It just doesn't fit in my opinion. read more

I get it that I don't have the receipt but he claimed that the shirt indicated it was dated from summer 2013 obviously he is trying to say I'm returning something that was from 2 years ago). I'm a regular customer in Banana Republic Galleria. I've found only two staffs (Ross & Leo) are friendly to their customers and the rest are rude and unfriendly. The rude staff could yell in front of customers if they know that their name is not mentioned when customers check out. How rude and horrible it is?!? I know that they salary may be based on commission, but come on. Sometimes customers may forget your name or prefer to mention other staff's name who are more friendly to them. It's wholly CUSTOMERS' preference to mention the name of staff who help them, not STAFF!!! read more

Upon arrival to your store at 730PM the gentlemen with clipboards standing behind rope were informing people that there was a special event and that the store would reopen at 8PM. Thirty minutes, no big deal. We ate mall food for dinner while we waited, only to learn 820ish you STILL weren't open to customers. This is when I gave you a call to find out what was going on. I don't mind that the store was closed for a special event, but if you had provided us with accurate information at 730PM - that you are closed for the night - I could have driven to the other location at Rice Village. My time is as valuable as the other customers you told to return at 8 but I am very disappointed in your customer service. When I finally got you on the phone I reached an uninterested comment box. After I explained the issue and asked for an explanation all you offered was "I'm sorry we closed at 8 for a special event". Seriously- just told you we arrived at 7:30 and have been waiting an hour.
