I shop online because I can never find things in the stores where I live. I saw a dress online, out of stock in my size, but found it in my size, after doing a google search, at French Cut Boutique. Women's sizing is a nightmare. There is no consistency between brands. The dress I ordered doesn't fit and this store will only offer a store credit. When I saw "free shipping, free returns" I assumed it would be a refund. This is not fully disclosed on their website. I would not recommend shopping at this boutique because of this policy. read more

French Cuff has been my go-to clothing boutique for years now, and I can't believe I've been remiss to review this neighborhood gem. The staff at the Bellaire location are consistently attentive. Currently, Courtney is the primary sales person who helps me when I call in or swing by. The team has really made shopping a dream for me - no worrying about wondering through endless miles of racks of so-so clothing that looks better on a hanger than on me. If I give the team a heads up of what I'm looking for, they will hand-select items for me to try on - and 80-90% of them will be items I fall in love with AND that will work with the rest of my wardrobe. This location is so convenient being in the same center as my local Whole Foods. My husband likes to drive by and window shop - the sales staff are all so helpful when he calls or emails to order something for me that he sees. They will also keep a running wish list of mine to share with him, which is so helpful. And they track my sizes and preferred designers to make it even easier. I love that the owner, Kairy-tate Barkley, is involved with giving back to the Houston area and is involved with the Junior League. It is important to me to support local businesses who are active in our Houston community. read more

Terrible service for the price! I've shopped here over the years despite the occasionally aloof service and high prices because I liked the clothes and the location is convenient for me. I am willing to pay for quality and service but will not be going back. My husband took my 10 year old daughter to shop for a birthday gift for me several months ago. The store has my name and information in the system because I have shopped there many times before. My daughter gave them my info and the sales person helping her shop sold her a blouse which I liked, however had just purchased the exact one for myself a few weeks before. No one mentioned the 10 day return policy to my family when they bought the blouse. I got covid shortly after my birthday so didn't think about returning it until after the 10 day window. I tried to return it a couple weeks later on Tuesday July 5, which is apparently a holiday for French Cuff although not for the rest of us, because the store was closed. Then I forgot about it for several months. Apparently the 10 day return policy applies even when the return is due to a sales person's mistake. I gave them back the duplicate blouse even though they refused to give me any credit, and I will not be giving them any more business. There are plenty of other boutique clothing shops in the area with the same quality and much better service. read more

I love French Cuff... It's a great (non-mall) type place with personal service. The clothes are fabulous and in style. I know I can come here and find a great outfit for that special night or just for work. Another great thing is that the owner, Kairy-tate, is usually in the store. So many times you can get her expert opinion and provide feedback right to the source. I'm definitely a fan! UPDATE: In response to another review, I am not a size extra small and vary from a size 6 - 10 depending on the brand and style. So will have to disagree with the other review indicating only small sizes. read more

I have shopped at the French Cuff Boutique since it opened in '09. It along with the Hem Line and Tootsies are my favorite boutiques. The prices are expensive but I felt they were worth it given the quality of the clothing and the overall taste of the boutique's buyer. However, where the quality of the merchandise hasn't declined in the least their Customer Service and Sales Departments have. The last few times I've shopped there, which is once or twice a month, the sales staff has gotten quite aggressive. They used to recommend things that were similar to what I had picked out or things that are easily overlooked because only the sales staff would know if it looks good on as it doesn't necessarily look good on the hanger. The last time I shopped there each of the two sales staff brought me, the exact same new merchandise or slow moving merchandise and one shirt that they didn't even know what the front or the back was. I finally told them both times that those items weren't the style I was looking for. I can live with overly aggressive sales staff and uptalking for the convenience and the fashion. What I can't live with is not only the return policy overly restrictive, but a staff that resists taking my name and number when I asked that the owner contact me. I bought an outfit that I decided against when I got home. I wasn't sure about in the store. The sales person told me that if I got it home and didn't like it, I could always return it. I asked about the return policy when I bought it. The sales person told me two days for cash and thirty days for store credit. Which as it happens isn't true. Apparently it is ten days for store credit. I brought the outfit back 16 days after I bought it, but two days were Good Friday and Easter, which they were closed, and that is when I found out the return policy is different than I was told. I was just returning something for credit. I was returning the $225 outfit and buying a $210 top and a $185 costume ring. I understand she is a small business and indefinite credit memos are costly to her. I understand the staff's reluctance to break the policy. When I asked for the owner to call me, all the two sales associates did was argue with me. Everyone in the store was looking at me. It was quite embarrassing. I finally told them I didn't ask them to argue with me. I asked them to have the owner to call me. About a week later I got the merchandise back with note that said that someone had tried to call me twice, but that my voicemail was full. It also suggested that I gift or sell the outfit. If she could send note to return the merchandise and suggest sell it, she could have sent a note saying to call her. I would have not shopped there ever again, but I wouldn't have Yelped the French Cuff. It's her business, and she has the prerogative to have any return policy she chooses to. She also has the prerogative to have an argumentative and overly aggressive sales staff. In turn I have the option of not shopping at her establishment and giving her a negative review. read more

If you are looking for something no other person will have - go here. I am not tiny by any means, and loved the clothes and the jewelry. My girlfriend purchased some jeans ("K" on the back pocket), and let me tell you...every woman should own these jeans. Remember this is a boutique, so there will not be many of the same things - go soon and often! This will be your next fav place. read more

I live in the 'burbs, so I shop here once or twice a year, but it's totally worth the drive. If you're looking for wardrobe staples, it's the place, but my favorites are special occasion outfits that always exceed expectations! (Fancy skirt that makes your heart go pitter patter? Sold!) I have spent close to $5000 at this boutique the past few years. They are one of the few shops in town that carry Joseph Ripkoff. The day after I returned to Houston after 3 weeks out of town, I bought quite a few items. That night I got my mail from my neighbor who had collected it for me while I was gone. There was a 15% discount card for my birthday. I took the card in the next day with my receipt thinking my bill would be qdjusted. They offered to give me store credit or let me use the card next time. Like there will be a next time. read more

I love this small boutique. They have fashionable, super cute clothes, many of them flowy that really compliment a woman's figure. I wear an extra small and usually have a hard time finding clothes in my size: not here, they always have something in my size. The staff are fantastic. They see what you are looking for and will find more things for you they think you might like. Sure enough, you try these on too and they look great! I have bought many a thing from this store in this way. It is pricey, as it is a boutique, but it is well worth it. It is also conveniently located next to Whole Foods, so I am in the area a lot and able to pop in to see what is new. Have fun shopping! read more

First off, I just want to refute the review that says FCB only has extra smalls on the floor. I visit both FCB locations on a regular basis and they carry up to a L or XL in most things. I needed a bigger size than they had in stock, and do you know what they did for me? They called up their supplier and special ordered the dress I wanted in my size. Not only this, but the ladies who work there have been unerringly polite and helpful to me, even when I go in looking like a mess. I don't know what FCB was like in 2009 when L.M. decided to 'waste' her time stopping by, but all I can say is that now, in 2012, it's a must stop shop for all Houston women! read more
