Super sale day- and it was pure coincidence that day last year. I had received a birthday month coupon and was in the area so decided to visit Ann Tylor for a quick look. As luck would have it, they had an in-store deal going on which was 50% off of anything. I had picked up a green top and combined with my coupon which was, I can't remember now, but probably $15 off or something, ultimately got the top for $5!!!! An Ann Taylor for $5, now that is what I call a surprise gift! Tiffany and Cassey were on the floor that evening, it was closing time, and I was in and out in 10 min with a top in hand. They were super friendly and also equally shocked at my steal deal! What I learnt that day is that, stores, to encourage foot fall, have special offers valid only in store, and they also don't repeat in all stores, each area has its own special offers which you won't know until u actually visit. This is not a Tailor... it's a Taylor. An Ann Taylor, for that matter. Ann Taylor is expensive and it's fancy and it's the kind of place where you go if you have a little extra money - which we generally don't. Nevertheless if you want to sink a bunch of money into a place for nice clothes for women, then this will do, I suppose. A lot of people love Ann Taylor but Barbie thinks it's kind of average - which is lucky for me cuz it saves us a lot on the wallet. read more

I visit this store because I'm still sad that their rice village location is gone forever. I don't know what has happened now have a really hard time finding fabrics that make sense for this houston season, in this store. I often found nice pieces at the rice location that have lasted me until today. What bothered me today about this store is that after I finally found something that was appropriate for this weather, I now faced the challenge of paying for it and leaving without being asked several times whether I wanted their rewards, their card or whatever. What bugged me was the inability for staff to accept no for an answer about their store credit card. I'd already said no when I was told you would've paid much (insert price here) for this shirt had you gone with the card. Well now I was peeved. I don't like to feel badgered no matter what the staffs training is. Between their quality and fit not being the best and this interaction it left an unpleasant mark and I think I'll likely be passing up shopping there next time and just go online which I really did not want to do! read more

This store has classic pieces for work. The store was very well organized and neat. The great sale I caught made shopping even better. The manager, Jose, was very personable and professional. This is the best Ann Taylor! Compared to the other locations in Houston, I get the most on hand experience here. The manager knows me by name and always helps me; That kind of service always makes me feel special. This is my ultimate shop to stop at when shopping for work appropriate clothes! The size of the store makes it easy to get help from the associates and the layout is very easy to shop. I feel so blessed to have this store from walking distance of my house!- not to mention the prices, SO affordable- I like shopping here for all my basics, then shopping at anthropologie for the funky stuff to spice it up! read more

I haven't been to this particular store in about two years because the last time I went I was treated so poorly. Sadly, nothing has changed. I asked the lady working if she had my size in the back and she looked at me like she was just so annoyed. I got an idea....put out ALL of your sizes and then customers won't have to ask you for a favor. Then after trying on a few things I was never asked in the dressing room if I needed another size. This would never happen at Lululemon or Athleta because they understand customer service. If you hate being in a customer service position then find a desk job where you do data entry or something where you don't have to deal with people! read more

The new school year started and well my wardrobe needed a revamping since I am now required to wear business, more professional clothes rather than being able to go to work in jeans and tennis shoes. It was too good to last I guess..oh well it was an excuse and still is an excuse to go shopping! I figured I would stop by Ann Taylor, since I like the clothes there. The clothes are cute and business professional and they fit. Well most of the items, the pants I usually have to get altered but that's because I'm only 5'4" and the petites are sometimes too short for me. So you're thinking if she loves the clothes and what the store offers, why the two stars...well customer service sucked! When I walk in there's two other ladies shopping in the store and about 2 sales associates. The ladies are helping one of the customers and when I walk in (I'm in khakis and a tank top), nothing is said. There's no "hi, welcome to Ann Taylor," or anything like that. Another lady walks into the store and they immediately go to help her. She's dressed like she just got off of work so a bit more professional. In my head I'm like really, I'm about to spend money here and you don't have the decency to give me a welcome. I start looking around and still no customer service in sight. I have about 5 items in my arms and usually the stores ask you if you want to start a room, nope not here. I walk by the associates and they just look past me to the other people within the store. Just because I'm not dressed up to go shopping, does not mean I don't have money to spend. It was very irritating. Finally I just walk to the fitting room and get myself situated and a lady walks up to me and says did you need a fitting room. Well obviously since I already got one for myself. Thanks for asking a minute too late. I got some clothes and once again it took awhile to check out. I'm standing there and there is someone behind the counter just doing I don't know what, but I have my clothes on the counter with wallet in hand and still nothing. Really what does it take? I made my purchase and I'm not going back to this store. I might just buy the clothes online, check out the Galleria location, maybe they are a bit better at customer service, but the River Oaks location is a no go for me. Learn to treat your customers equally, if they go into the store more than likely they know what they need and are willing to spend the money. Don't judge, it just loses customers. read more

Sign up for their coupons, and sales, and although still not cheap, you can save some cash. Ann is my go to for most of my work clothes and suits. #1, I can get away with a smaller size, which is a total ego boost, although me and the skirt both know I'm not really that size. (shhh) The clothes don't need much tailoring, at least for my body. They also last, and the material is quality. I did wear a bunch of NY and CO, but every single girl in my entire building wears NY and Company, therefore we were all wearing the same clothes. Super embarrassing. Recently stopped in for some additions to my fall wardrobe and snagged 4 tops for 40% off. Also got a gorgeous cream lace top to wear either under a suit or with jeans for $40 normally $89. I also like their jewelry for work, its usually trendy, but not over the top. Statement necklaces, and bracelets add that extra pop to a plain black suit. The people who work here are always super friendly, and helpful, and its never crazy like the mall locations. read more

Tonight, Oct 15, 2015, for the second time in eight months, I was treated shabbily by the staff at this store. My wife and I walked in at approx 6:00 pm (they close at 7:00 pm) and were the only customers in the store. There were two employees mulling around and neither one approached us nor acknowledged our presence. As we searched for a gift for my wife's boss a third employee walked in from the back and when she saw me, she turned on her heel and disappeared from whence she came. We decided on a $60 scarf and took it to the check-out area. We stood and waited 5-10 minutes while employee #1 folded merchandise and #2 stayed busy avoiding our looks. Finally, employee #1 came over to check us out and snapped an answer to my wife's inquiry about gift wrapping. Believe me, there will NEVER be a next time. I can't understand a snobby attitude coming from someone who makes $10 per hour. (I gave the store 2 stars only because my wife loves their stuff.) Their goods seem over-priced to me.
