Honestly, I work for a company that most of the women buy all their office attire at Torrid. I did not know much about the store till a friend of mine told me she worked there. So I checked it out for myself a few times never bought anything felt some of the attire was a bit costly but I was willing to finally make my first purchase here. Normally I would not buy anything here but my gf has a skin condition so I wanted to find her a wireless bra because she gets sores from wires huge ones and they get infected. Well one of the employees her name is Hannah who works at the Torrid at Meadowwood Mall and I had a falling out. I told her and was clear I want to shop at your store I mean honestly how many Torrids are there in Reno? ONE while the other store is just lingerie and I was NOT looking for lingerie. I needed a solid bra for my gf whom I came in with but she and I went to other stores. We did not find one that would be adequate for her! The first time I walked in the store Hannah and a few of her employees were pointing at me for one. They were laughing and I heard them talking about my girlfriend and I. Lets be honest here not only was that immature how am I supposed to feel comfortable buying anything with that happening. I did not go in the store to cause any issue I did not talk to Hannah did not look at Hannah and I did not buy from Hannah. I have every single right to look around that store! Well my friend left to go look for bras I went back into the store figured maybe I could surprise her because she was new to Torrid so I wanted to show her the sunglasses and some of the dresses. Did not know they also had bras in the back. So I went into the store again only this time the same thing was happening and an employee came up to me new me by name how strange I have been in this store a few times but never in my life seen this employee how would she know? Then she says to me you need to buy something now or leave you cant spend time with Hannah like oh really so now I cant browse anything. Prior to her walking up I was in the bra drawer looking for a 38D did not see a single bra size and honestly I could have ordered it online but the employee did not help me with that order instead its like buy something or go before I throw you out really throw me out? I get that these employees are friends of hers but in no way shape or form should I have been subjected to such rudeness it was not only childish but I am a customer in the store unless I am causing an issue and I was NOT! I filled out a poor review for Courtney then a couple days later Miss Hannah filed a civil order which states I can no longer go into Torrid to shop. The order states that she got in trouble because of me and that I filled out a poor review for Courtney well Duh they were bagging on me laughing, pointing, I could hear them saying discriminatory remarks etc etc did not care still purchased the bra and I left the store to go to my vehicle. I did not hang around but I did sign up to be a loyalty member which was also in the civil complaint that I signed up as a loyalty member and that I also was carrying my gun. Nevada is an open carry state but I did not have my gun on me no weapons are allowed in the mall yet the order states I was bringing one in there store total lie. I am to a point where I am about to get a lawyer and SUE Torrid and its employees for emotional distress, harassment and a whole litany of other things. Honestly, so what I dated her awhile back coming into the store does not make me a stalker I came to that store with another woman to buy a bra that is it. Just as I have a right to file whatever survey reviews that is my right as the customer and basically I got told that I filed a bad review on her coworker. Now how would she know this unless her coworker and her are harassing me that is personal information I am a customer nobody should know what kind of review I leave! With that being said two of my friends were shopping back in December and Miss Hannah decided she did not like them and told me she was going to also file a restraining order against them and call the cops. So anyone I know now cant shop at Torrid because they will either be harrassed, threatened or served with a protective order. Most of that protective order states how I was in the store and they got in trouble. Well I hope they did for harassing me they may not like how I look or the fact of whom I am but I am still a customer and I made a purchase of 50 something dollars for ONE yes ONE plain black bra.  Honestly, not sure how they could want to promote her or anyone on that crew to an assistant or store manager given the fact that this is how this employee acts. So you hate me you do not have to talk to me or look at me but I have a right to shop in Torrid and that right was taken away by someone all because what I filed a review that was not so nice against her employee who was basically rude to me? Might need a lawyer for this one! read more

Honestly I hate giving this location a 2 star because my girlfriend absolutely loves Torrid and we usually always have a great experience at any Torrid we visit but sadly this just was not the case on this trip. This was the first time we had visited this Torrid and we decided to stop by to see if they released any cute Christmas items and plus they were having a sale. I will now list the problems that we had and why our experience went sour: 1) the lady working was really rude. Like I know they get tired and I'm sure it's frustrating dealing with people all day but she was beyond rude and made the whole experience awkward to shop. 2) Normally the cashiers at Torrid fold your clothes and place them in the bag but the cashier just threw them in the bag all bunched up...it's like we spent a good amount of money and we don't want our clothes wrinkled as Torrid is not a cheap store 3) the clothes were not very organized and it didn't seem like they go back and make the clothes look presentable (example: the underwear section at other torrids usually have the underwear nicely rolled and separated, this one it was all thrown in there and a huge mess. The store was empty and they had just opened so it's not like someone had just did it and we got the after math...they opened the store this way. 4) the sales weren't ringing up correctly and the cashier didn't want to try and fix it and wanted to just charge us normal price but I refused as the whole reason we went in was the sale but she proceeded to still try and convince us to pay normal price. We will more than likely never come back here and we'll stick to our local Torrid where we always have a great experience read more

Without Torrid, I might just be another fat, dumpy, quite tragic girl. I may have been steering in just that direction during the latter years of college. You know-- sneakers and flip-flops, old teeshirts and even older jeans. (Not that there's anything wrong with that; I still wear that stuff. I just rock it harder.) But beneath that shoddy exterior, I had attitude inside--and the alter-ego sassy girl in the drab college-kid clothes needed out, needed it real bad. You see, most plus size clothiers tend to OD on the elasty-waists and ponchos. But sometimes in efforts to cover and drape, no matter how pretty or sheer the fabric, you just end up looking larger. And at least 10 years older. And a gazillion times frumpier. More material just isn't the answer--my body isn't a magic trick! Illusions can only go so far! Torrid literally changed me. With my first purchase there, a tulle-edged black and white retro polka dot dress, I felt like the real me was represented. I went on to buy punkrock pleated skirts, more dresses, cute shoes, and pairs upon pairs of jeans. (sans elasty-waist!) Since those first purchases, Torrid has gone a little more feminine and and little less subculture-oriented, but the same principles apply; they aid and inspire me to seek my own style, not concede to other people's plus-sized expectations. A trip to style-forward London and a visit to Torrid was all I needed to whip my style sensibility back into shape. Why hide when you can flaunt? Torrid has several locations sprinkled all over the US as well as a great online shop. The one in the Houston Galleria is definitely my favorite. There are two unexpected pluses (pun intended) to shopping at Torrid: 1. The salespeople are just as empowering as the clothes. They're lively, they're fun, and most of all, they're helpful. You just can't leave the store feeling fat and ugly-- I dare you to try. 2. Skinny girls are always asking me where I got my clothes! Torrid style transcends size boundaries; these clothes are kickin' and they know it. read more

So hard to return items. They won't even take items you can't fit. Do not recommend at all.

I wish I could remember the girl name that always help me when I'm there but they're very helpful. The selection here is pretty good, up to date and well stocked. This location do carry some online exclusives as well. Now, if you're not into fashion as in sexy, super cute, edgy or trendy things. This is not the place for you. You may want to stick to Lane Bryant or Ashley Stewart because Torrid is fashion forward and current. Every location is different base on the customers who shop there but Galleria is the best one.... read more

I am a fan of plus size clothing stores with style. I shop at Torrid often, but it can be a bit much for me. Im not into hello kitty shirts, pirates of the caribbean jewelry or bedazzled anything. The have OK things, the quality can be lacking. After spending $60 on a pair of jeans I just want them to not rip after 2 months, this has happened 3 times. If they would come down on their prices and have a better quality of product they would be getting a better review. This is just the only reasonably priced plus size clothing I have found. read more

I had the best experience today at Torrid in the Galleria. I was assisted by the amazing Ashley. She greeted me with a smile as soon as I walked in and asked if I needed any help and also informed me of their current sales. I picked several items out to try on because I was looking for a business outfit for a meeting. I always have trouble finding clothes or trying to put an outfit together. She came to the fitting room to ask if I needed anything and asked for me to show her what I was trying on and she started suggesting different clothing items that I normally wouldn't try on and also smaller sizes. All this time I had been buying 1 and 2's ,12's and 14's but come to find out I'm actually a 0 or 00 and a size 10. I am very happy she was there this evening. I also went in kinda late and was not rushed one bit. I received the best customer service ever. Wish there was one of her in every store so I wouldn't stress so much on finding outfits. I ended up purchasing 8 items and I had only gone in for 2. Thank you so much Ashley , you are very much appreciated. Continue to do what you do. read more

Walking around the Galleria... we stumbled on Torrid. This is a place I had only "window shopped" online but had never bought anything from. So I was excited to be able to try on stuff and see how their clothes fit before I bought anything online. I walked out of here after spending way more than I had ever planned on spending, but had three of the best fitting pairs of jeans I had bought in years. Once I got back to Dallas I had to get online and find if we had a store up here. We do! SCORE! read more

I don't know why some people are saying negative things about Maria. I've never once had a problem with her. Sydney is also very helpful. Everyone that works at this store is super professional, isn't pushy about asking for help, and when you ask for help, are actually happy to help you. This store's layout is so nice, organized, and ALWAYS clean. I love it! I love Torrid and this is my go-to spot in the Houston area. I've never once had a bad experience here. read more

Walked into this location 20 minutes before closing to find an outfit for a friends birthday. Paige the store manager asked if I was open to suggestions and of course I said yes. She jumped right into action. I felt like I had my own personal stylist. Since 15 minutes were left until closing I told her that I didn't want to keep them from closing on time. She kindly told me that they don't watch the clock and love to help all their customers. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I left with the perfect outfit and style tips that I was so grateful for. Thank you Paige, you are amazing! read more

I love Torrid. I remember when I first discovered them so many years ago. They now have a nice eclectic mix of plus size clothing. However, it is especially friendly for the younger or trendy set that doesn't want mom or preppy clothes. I do think their prices are a bit high, but they do have good sales especially online. Horrible customer service! Unprofessional, rude, and uncaring staff. Will NEVER return! Too many other great places to shop in the Galleria that are not selling overpriced low quality clothes! read more
