Excellent food and service. Miso soup was terrific, reasonable price and beautiful atmosphere.

Beef negimaki was okay; sauce was somewhat saccharine while the meat wasn't seasoned. Salmon burrito was bundled well and the sauce helped add flavor. The sear on the tuna from the C-roll added more snap while the black widow roll had a multitude of different textures between the fried crab and eel.

Delicious apps: hamachi collar and agedashi tofu Delicious rolls: sexy salmon, yellowtail jalapeño, mango salmon Indonesian Waitress was very nice, funny We will be back.

A solid sushi spot that was giving the calm before the storm. Just a bit a way from Forest Hills Stadium and up Austin St. lies Bamboo Ya. It's a cute sushi spot that has an ample amount of seating which makes for the perfect pre-concert dinner spot. It wasn't super crowded and we were able to sit in the back dining area. We started with some yuzu sake and shumai. Super yummy. This sake was chilled which was a nice touch because it was on the sweet side. Then we split a few rolls. Yellowtail jalapeño is always so simple but usually one of my favs. We were then sent over our duck roll. Another classic and very tasty. We topped it off with the Esther Roll and the Sexy Salmon Roll. Both were very good but the Sexy Salmon roll was my fav. The mango was such a nice touch. We were in and out in a timely manner and we made it to the stadium after a 10 min walk. What a fun and delicious way to start the evening.

3 roll lunch special- spicy salmon and salmon avocado

I got some salmon avocado rolls and a spicy salmon roll for the 3 roll lunch special. There was a slight fishy smell, but not too bad! Great salad

The sushi here is consistently fresh and delicious, always satisfying my craving for quality Japanese cuisine. The service is top-notch; the staff are friendly, attentive, and make dining here a pleasure every time. The place is clean and spacious. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or simply looking to enjoy a great meal out or looking for lunch specials, I highly recommend giving this place a try. It never disappoints! Please see all of my photos!

Two rolls Sushi Lunch Special
Angela L.

I went for their lunch special of two rolls for $11.95. It comes with miso soup or salad. I opted for the miso soup which was passable. I ordered the tuna avocado and salmon avocado rolls. They were good but wasn't the best I've ever had. The fish was fresh, no fishy smell or taste, and just the right amount of rice around the seaweed. The avocado added an element of creaminess that complemented the soft fish. The rice was a touch hard, however. The service was good. The waitress was attentive. The inside was neat and dimly lit for atmosphere. Not bad for a quick sushi lunch if you're in the area.

Yuzu sake
Debbie A.

We came here for drinks after dinner and it wasn't busy at all. We sat at the bar and decided to start off with some amaretto sours which was not that good honestly but the yuzu sake made up for that. As for the decor, the restaurant was pretty spacious, nicely decorated and seems to be an excellent spot to pregame based on the happy hour menu.

This is a spot me and friends go to frequently. Came here for the lunch special and it was a great deal. We got a sooo and I got a side of rice. I love the ribs, very savory. Would definitely recommend this place, the services is great as well.

Sushi: 6 Customer Service: 10 Cleanliness & Ambience: 10 Wine: 10 Prices: 10 Location: 10 I will visit again but will skip sushi, I will try their rice or noodle dishes instead. I love that they close at 11 pm. They play a nice music selection, they have a nice vibe instead and the staff is attentive.

Solid sushi place. I really love that they offer brown rice as I can't eat white rice. I decided to try this place because the place I usually order from stopped offering brown. So BambooYa you've just gained a regular customer. Everything tasted fresh. I can't comment on the service or establishment itself because I ordered delivery. But delivery was quick and the soup was still hot when it got here. But I'll definitely be stopping in when I'm in the area. Thanks for offering brown rice!

Kate F.

Great sushi, atmosphere, and service! Spacious and pleasant interior. We ordered three rolls, Salmon Avocado, White Tuna Cucumber, and Spicy Tuna--all of which were delicious! White tuna was notably good. Reasonable prices too. Would definitely recommend.

How was the take out/delivery experience? thanks

Good. My order was ready when I arrived.

Is indoor dining available?

Yes. I ate indoors, last Sunday.

Do they have a surcharge for COVID 19?

I do not believe the prices have changed.

Is the restrooms available?

I don't know, didn't need to use it. Wiped my hands with antibacterial wipes. I'm sure they are. Most restaurants along Austin St have their restrooms open to their customers. Just double check. The food was good though. Everything we ordered,… Read more

But this place completely knocked it out of the park. It far exceeded everything we anticipated. We were seated in a private booth, which made the experience feel even more authentic and intimate. Every dish that came out was absolutely delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully presented. They even provided a bell to press for service, and each time, the server appeared almost instantly with a warm smile. It's clear the owner and management truly know how to create and run a successful business--from the attention to detail to the seamless service and overall experience. For a moment, it truly felt like we had been transported back to Japan. An unforgettable dining experience.

For our food we ordered the hako sushi, tornado omelette fried rice, trio tuna sushi roll, yakitori platter (ordered chicken gizzard and gyu harami on the side) and the A5 Wagyu cooked on the stone grill. I recommend getting the yakitori platter as it's a nice sampler but my husband especially enjoyed the chicken gizzard. My dad never had wagyu before so he especially loved the wagyu but I do think it's expensive for the amount they give you, I can see why it's pricier but just know before you order it's like $45 for 2.5 oz or in our case about 5 thin slices of wagyu. My brother said the tornado omelette was tasty and filling and he enjoyed it. The trio tuna sushi roll was very fresh. As for the service, I think everyone was pleasant but the vibes were a little off, it seems like they were just very exhausted. This doesn't affect the quality of the food or the experience but it was just something I noticed. They were still very attentive and provided great service. The reason for the one star off is because I do wish the Hako sushi had a bit more flavor, I saw so many different ingredients and fish but none of the flavors were impactful, it was rather one dimensional which was disappointing because it was presented so beautifully. Overall, I recommend giving Izakaya nana a try and I would definitely go again to try other things.

Even before the food arrives, the restaurant leaves a strong impression with its stunning Japanese-inspired interior. The space is beautifully designed, blending warmth and elegance in a way that feels both inviting and refined. From the soft lighting to the natural wood accents and thoughtfully arranged decor, everything about the atmosphere feels intentional. It captures the intimate charm of a traditional izakaya while still feeling modern and stylish, making it a wonderful setting for anything from a casual dinner to a more special night out. The food more than lived up to the beauty of the space. One of the first highlights was the salmon onigiri, a dish that proved how satisfying simplicity can be when it is done well. The rice was soft, fresh, and perfectly formed, holding together without feeling too compact, while the salmon added a savory richness that made each bite feel comforting and flavorful. It was balanced, delicate, and deeply satisfying in a way that made it memorable despite its simplicity. The seared salmon salad was another standout. The salmon itself was beautifully prepared, with a lightly seared exterior that gave it a subtle crispness, while the inside remained tender, buttery, and smooth. That contrast in texture made the dish especially enjoyable. Paired with the freshness of the salad, it felt light and refreshing, yet still substantial enough to feel like more than just a side dish. It was a dish that managed to feel both clean and indulgent at the same time. The grilled squid was particularly impressive and easily one of the most memorable items of the meal. Squid can often be difficult to get right, as it can become rubbery or overly chewy if even slightly overcooked, but that was absolutely not the case here. The texture was spectacular--tender, delicate, and pleasantly springy without any toughness. Each bite had a light smokiness from the grill that added depth, while the squid itself retained its natural sweetness. It was expertly prepared and showcased a level of precision that really stood out. For the main courses, both the Tonkatsu Ramen and the Black Pepper Ramen delivered distinct experiences, each with its own appeal. The Tonkatsu Ramen was deeply comforting and satisfying, with a broth that had a rich, velvety texture and a full-bodied depth that coated the palate beautifully. It felt smooth, hearty, and luxurious without being too heavy. The noodles had an ideal texture as well--firm enough to provide a satisfying bite, yet soft enough to soak up the broth and integrate perfectly into the dish. Altogether, it was a bowl that felt warming, balanced, and incredibly comforting. The Black Pepper Ramen, on the other hand, brought a bolder and more assertive flavor profile. The broth had a smooth, glossy texture, and the noodles again had a pleasing chew that gave the dish structure and substance. The black pepper added an unmistakable warmth and aromatic intensity that made the ramen stand out immediately. It was flavorful and memorable, though the pepper was slightly overwhelming at times. A bit less black pepper would have allowed the other flavors in the broth to come through more clearly and created a more balanced bowl. Even so, the ramen was still enjoyable, especially for those who appreciate strong, pepper-forward flavors. Overall, Izakaya Fuku is a restaurant that succeeds on every level. The stunning Japanese interior creates an atmosphere that feels both immersive and elegant, while the food reflects a real attention to detail in both flavor and texture. From the comforting salmon onigiri, to the fresh and beautifully prepared seared salmon salad, to the expertly grilled squid with its exceptional texture, and finally the rich and satisfying ramen dishes, every part of the meal felt carefully executed. It is a place that offers not just excellent food, but a complete dining experience, and it is well worth visiting for anyone looking for standout Japanese cuisine in New York.

(source: Google AI) Lunch before a medical appointment in the Forest Hills, Queens, NYC vicinity summons Japanese cuisine. Business was relatively quiet and rather empty on a Tuesday early afternoon for lunch as there were only two people and I subsequently became the third patron. There was no wait for a table and - finally my luck turned around with no wait to be serviced and no negative body language projected against me as a single lady dinning alone! I was finally seen, heard, and acknowledged as I am one life in the smallest measurement. Customer service is, indeed, as described by Yelpers to be attentive, efficient with order fulfillment and polite with reverence by good measures. I did receive a printed sales receipt to retain. I did leave a 20% gratuity for this male server who did served me well. Restroom facilities are relatively clean with a contemporary modern sink. There are Sakura cherry blossom branches that fills the ceiling for decorum. There are QR scan code laminated to the table at the corner to order. I am old school and highly prefer printed paper menus interacting with a human with a waiter for ordering. Disposable bamboo chopsticks and Renge 蓮華 or Chirirenge 散蓮華 in Japanese and Tangchi 湯匙 or Tiaogeng 調羹 in Chinese for spoons are distributed as utensils. This casual Japanese pub is located in Forest Hills' main shopping district on Austin Street. It is very accessible via E, F, R and M trains at MTA NYC Transit Forest Hills -72nd Continental Avenue subway station. I do not see any business cards nor takeout menu for grabs. Four stars? The menu was average and did not really entice my interest. I was hoping to see Matcha ice cream. This Ramen noodle entrée includes one side salad with ginger dressing. The salad was average. The ginger dressing was also average served separately, but rather insufficient in quantity. Oh! I wanted slightly more salad dressing, but not the entire restaurant's stock like SNL's "Lisa From Temecula." The noodles are the main protagonist in this entrée as I wholesomely enjoyed. Asian noodle soup is always comfort food during tumultuous times. All other ingredients were a delight, fresh and served middling warm, but neither hot or piping hot. The pork belly was average. The brown half soft boiled egg was okay, but I prefer white eggs. The soup base broth is Tonkotsu for pork bones and it is not spicy nor salty. The Tonkotsu soup broth was average. Wafuu Izakaya includes a side salad with this entrée which most Japanese restaurants charge the salad a separate fee and distinguishes from competitors. Hot Matcha green tea was served which I am grateful. Matcha green tea (either hot or cold) is one of my favorite default. This noodle soup and salad certainly eat my fill. We came on a Saturday at opening time and they were open but some things were not ready yet. This restaurant is very close to the style of restaurants in China, lots of free stuff that comes with the hot pot buffet package like free fruits, drinks, snacks, side dishes etc. which was really nice, really enjoyed their free jasmine milk tea. The menu was slightly confusing but nothing you can't navigate, the initial course of the wagyu meat was very very good, and the rest of the meat were very good as well, all thinly cut and fresh. We got the gold package and the seafood platter was impressive too. My husband doesn't eat seafood and I wanted to try their seafood so we both got the gold package but couldn't finish most. The side dishes like wagyu sushi and bone marrow were really delicious as well. Some issues I had was that it took forever and ever for the food to come out when it's ordered from the kitchen, when there isn't that many filled tables, and when you have a 90 min time limit to dine, I would expect things to come out quickly. Also, we would order stuff from the menu and some of them would just never come... until the waiter tells us that we can grab them ourselves from the side dish section, then why have it on the menu at all to be ordered...? These new restaurants are fun and this one was good enough I probably would come back, but some of these small details make me prefer the older/more traditional restaurants in flushing.
