We have been on the search for good Pad Thai for a while, trying several of the recommended Thai restaurants in the area and we are happy to say we found the best here at Bamboo Thai Kitchen! We got ours with duck and there were delicious chunks of duck meat all throughout the dish. The sauce was perfect and the thin noodles were perfect for texture. We ordered ours mild and found it to be very enjoyable. We also had the tom yum soup with shrimp which I could swim in-it was so delicious! We also tried the mini Thai rolls and they were crispy, flavorful and not greasy at all. It is take out only but we didn't mind at all. I've been going here for awhile now and it's probably my favorite Thai spot in town. I always get the drunken noodles and mini Thai rolls. They have never disappointed! I would highly recommend both those dishes from here. They also have varying spice levels for all kinds of people. So, there is no need to worry about that. I typically like to get it spicy. Pick-up only location, but the turnaround time is incredibly fast, my food is usually ready shortly after I call. I always order the Pad Thai (medium spice) with chicken; I love that they let you customize the spice level. The flavor is consistently great, though I do wish the chicken were a bit juicier. (If the chicken was better I would be going here more consistently, I should probably try a different meat). I also tried the Pad See Ew (mild), which has a nice, slightly sweeter noodle flavour, perfect if you want something gentler than Drunken Noodles. The pho is consistently good as well. Found this Thai place on Bethel Road just west of Olentangy River Road. Only takeout; no in-dining right now. When I measure Thai restaurants, you have to pass the basics: Pad Thai, fresh Vietnamese spring rolls with shrimp and one of the appetizers - this time the fried tofu. Loved the Fried Tofu and the dipping sauce - nicely fried and soft inside. Dipping sauce had a great flavor. Finished them all. Fresh Vietnamese rolls were good too. Fresh veggies and plenty of shrimp inside. The rice paper wrapper was fresh and the peanut sauce dipping was excellent. Finally, the chicken pad thai had the thin noodles - my preference. Good amount of veggies and noodles - it was plentiful. Good tasting and the noodles were not dry at all. For a first visit, all three passed the test. This is a takeout online restaurant. The portion sizes are generous and online ordering is a plus. We got the red curry and the pad Thai. I loved the level of spice and flavors of the tofu red curry. I wish there were a few more veggies but it's hearty yet light (what I love about Thai food). I'm not the biggest fan of pad Thai in general (partner wanted to get it). Today was my first visit. I stopped in to place a carryout order. The restaurant is presently only taking to go orders. When I walked in I was greeted by the staff member. I decided to get Pad See Ew with chicken for my dad and me. I got his meal with mild spice and no spice on my order. I also got an order of dumplings. In terms of prices, it will likely be between $15 and $20 per person. My order was ready in 5-10 minutes. It was well packaged and the food was still hot when I drove home. The dinner portions are large. The Pad See Ew tasted great with chicken, vegetables and noodles. The dumplings were also pretty good. Overall I was happy with my meal and recommend Bamboo Thai Kitchen. read more

We sort of stumbled upon Bamboo while in the area and it happened to be around dinner time so we stopped in. Unfortunately, it is still take out only which was the only downside. We ordered a mix of things including chicken pad thai, pad see ew and mini dumplings. The pad thai was absolutely phenomenal. I've been on the hunt to finally try mango sticky rice, and I was recommended Bamboo Thai Kitchen! I definitely get all the hype surrounding this dessert. But the food is delicious - high quality, nice-sized portions, fair prices. The soups were especially good. The Wonton soup was great - just what my sick wife wanted. Big wonton dumplings, good chicken stock - delicious. The Tom Kha Gai (spicy Thai chicken stock + lemongrass soup with coconut milk) was very good. We'll order both again. Spicy Basil Fried Rice was very good. I'll order that again, too. Mango sweet rice with coconut sauce was delicious. That makes it 4 out of 4 for "I'll order that again". Batting 1000. All in all - the place is a little quirky with only being carry-out, no dine in, no delivery. I've eaten food from Bamboo Thai Kitchen as take out for years, and have loved everything I've had from them so far-- be it the Tom Yum soup, the Thai Curry, or their Tiger Cry sautéed beef "salad". The portions are generous and prices are reasonable. While I can't claim to be an expert in Thai food, they're probably my favorite Thai restaurant in Columbus. The only possible downside here is that their dining room is only open on the weekends since the pandemic. For your weekday Thai food cravings, you'll have to order takeout. read more

I have gotten take out from this place a few times. I usually go for a curry, pad Thai, or drunken noodles. I have noticed the drunken noodle is more veggies/tofu than noodle. So if you are looking for a more noodles don't order that and go for a pad Thai instead. Their pad Thai is decent! They are consistent, convenient, and everything is reasonably priced. Be aware that dine in is not an option. I think it's a pretty decent place to go for Thai in Columbus. Bendy Wok is similar but they definitely have smaller portion sizes compared to Bamboo Thai so I would give Bamboo Thai a higher recommendation. read more

First time trying Bamboo Thai Kitchen. One of my favorite Thai restaurants-Nong's was closed so I ran across this place and it had good reviews so I thought I'd give it a try. Cute little restaurant for an intimate dining experience. Unfortunately the dining room is completely closed due to Covid. I ordered Pad Thai and Panang curry and a couple of eggs rolls. It came to $33 which I thought was a little expensive for the portions. Overall the food was good. I wouldn't say it the best Thai I have found in Columbus. I'm still searching for the best. First time trying out Bamboo Thai Kitchen. We ordered bunch of dishes and they were all good. We ordered Tom Yum soup with chicken and shrimp, Som Tum, Combination house fired rice, Pad See Ew, Panang Chicken Curry, Thai Iced Tea, and KimChi. All the food minis Kimchi was good. The kimchi did not have salt what so ever. It was just bland. Out of everything that we ordered, my favorite was the Som Tum, the papaya salad, and the Tom Yum soup. Both were really good with just the right amount of seasoning. The portion size is pretty good. Will definitely go back and try different things from the menu. read more

My first choice was closed, but I remembered this was on my way and remembered Mike G.'s review. Still no dine-in, but they are set up nicely for carryout. I called ahead, and ordering was easy. Inside, they have things set up for clear aisles and good separation. Pickup was easy. I got my go-to Thai item, pad see yew- wide noodles, veggies, meat. I was asked my spice preference and said "medium," since you never know what each place calls hot. For someone who likes heat, this was pretty good: tasty, not overwhelming, plenty of fire but not killer. And the dish was great. Good noodles, good sauce, tender beef (choose your protein,) lots of fresh tasty veggies. I also had the kimchi dumplings: big, a little fiery, with a good but unnecessary soy-sesame sauce. And a Thai iced tea, which I will need to start making at home. So good, so refreshing on a hot day. Portion sizes were, well, okay. A little small for the price. Good stuff, and enough to fill me up, but at other places I would have had enough for a small meal later. Here, it was all gone. But it was very good, and I'll be back. Probably one of the best Thai places in Columbus. But thai in Columbus is overall not that good so that's not a hard statement to make. Food was delicious. There was actually flavor and spices. When I opened the calamari the smell was so bad it went straight to the garbage disposal but not before I noticed they were globs of batter under fried. The lard na had a good taste. The noodle, to be added to it separately, had been prepared long ago and grossly overcooked. They were like confetti. It was a very disappointing meal. read more

We tried Bamboo Thai on a cold day while craving for takeout comfort food. Since we do not live on this side of town, we chose a few different items and were generally impressed by how well the food "travelled" 30 minutes to our house. The restaurant is in a small strip mall on Bethel Road and can be very easy to miss. The space inside is practical and not the biggest, but with the quality of the food, Bamboo Thai punches above its weight. The young lady at the counter was very prompt and efficient. She took time to explain the different spice levels (mild, medium, spicy, and extra spicy) as well as her recommendations and portion sizes. As for the food - the Thai iced tea was decent, albeit a bit overpriced for the size of the cup it came in. We also tried the kimchi, which was a bit on the bland side. The Tom Yum soup bowl, in contrast, was large and very flavorful. The restaurant also does not skimp on portion sizes for the entrée items - we tried the Som Tum (papaya salad), the House fried rice, the Pad See Ew, and the Panang Curry chicken. All of these dishes were excellent, and each can easily be shared between 2 adults. Personally, the Panang Curry chicken stood out for its large chunks of chicken and the creamy curry sauce. Overall, we liked the food, and will be back. Bamboo Thai is my favorite Thai restaurant in Columbus not named Bangkok or Erawan :) I was too meek this time and ordered the dishes mild/medium - I will be ordering them all spicy the next time. This was my second time visiting Bamboo, but I couldn't remember much about my first visit in 2019, so I gave it another try. I'm so glad that I did. I'm generally a curry fiend at Thai restaurants, so I went with a Panang Curry with Chicken at the "spicy" heat level (among other options for mild, medium and extra spicy). The overall flavor was good and the spice level complemented rather than detracted from the taste. I also got a meal for later and took a chance on the General Tso's Chicken. It was sneaky/low-key/underrated GOOD. At the "mild" heat level, the sweetness of the sauce mixed with the perfect balance of breading on the chicken made for a very pleasant surprise. My sister brought me here when I was visiting Columbus and we came here with a bunch of her friends. They were veteran diners here, and they already knew what their favorites were; Pad see ew with either beef or shrimp, papaya salad, and the thai iced tea. After browsing the menu, we each chose a dish with the underlying agreement we'd do family style. Basically we led with: "If I order [insert name of dish] you're gonna try some, right?"... "Or you're gonna help me eat this, right?" The answer is always "Yes!" It's best kind of communal eating, unbound by the single dish that we each order. Shared Amongst 5 people we ordered: ++Pad see ew (several) ++Tom yum noodle soup with seafood & tofu ++Thai iced tea (several) ++Papaya salad (Som Tum) ++Spicy Dumplings ++Vegetable Dumplings The dumplings and papaya salad were our appetizers. And I forgot how many Pad See Ews were ordered, but it was at least 2, maybe 3 for the table. The dish was that good! I wanted noodle soup so I ordered the Tom Yum Noodle Soup with seafood & tofu and didn't really enjoy it. The soup was a bit bland and was missing the seafood flavor and spicy/sour of the broth. I ended up packing most of the tom yum noodle soup to-go and giving it to my sister's friend for leftovers. And so I had my fill with Pad See Ew and dumplings. The papaya salad was delicious and spicy. The staff was really nice and while we waited a little bit for a table on a weekend, they checked in us once in a while and re-assured us that guests were almost wrapping up and our table would be ready soon. If I lived in C-bus, I could imagine this restaurant being my neighborhood Thai take-out place. I enjoyed having dinner here at a little family-owned Thai place. Bamboo Thai's Kitchen's strength lies in doing some menu items really, really well (read: pad see ew!) while other items miss the mark. Wow! Why didn't I try this place sooner. Very impressed with bamboo thai kitchen. The staff and the food were outstanding. I was greeted immediately upon entry and given a menu to look at. They had amazing covid procedures and are currently take-out only. I ordered with ease, then waited only about 10 minutes for my food. They have a very nice menu. They offer several appetizers and entrees. I got the mini dumplings and chicken wings for starters. Then pad see ew as the main course. I did medium for the heat level. Everything was delicious. Very flavorful and cooked to perfection. I did think the wings were a bit over priced, but they were so tasty I seriously didn't mind. This was my 1st time trying an authentic Thai restaurant in cbus and I enjoyed it a lot. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. read more

I came on a Saturday evening around 6:30 with two friends and it wasn't super busy. There were a few couples here and there, but not packed. It's not a large space, so coming with a big group is probably not a great idea. Tables seat up to four. I liked the ambience. They played toned down covers of pop songs which was kind of fun to listen to and pretty relaxing. We ordered calamari as an appetizer. It tasted so homemade and just very good. The sauce on the side was light but a good compliment to the calamari. Service was pretty quick. My friend got the pad Thai with medium heat. She liked it but thought the tofu pieces were a little too large. My friend got the pad kee maow with chicken with the spiciest heat level. So spicy! But she actually really loved it! I also ordered noodles and got the pad see ew with a spice level of mild. Yum! The light soy sauce was just right. Not overpowering or salty. I was definitely full! I also had the tofu with my dish and they were definitely cut a little too large. It was good but I prefer them to be a little smaller. Otherwise, everything was really good!
