They have their dinning room closed and it is only take out. Their food is great and one of my favorite Thai places. I just hate having to drive all the way there and by the time I'm home the food is cold. I wish they would open their restaurant dinning room up. read more

Great food great service. Love that it's takeout only. Big portions also. I would definitely return and highly recommend.

I chose Bamboo for a school project and I'm really impressed! I ordered the papaya salad (mild) and a cup of tom yum soup with chicken (medium). It was very fast and they were very nice and I'd definitely order from here again! read more

We ordered 6 apps and 3 entrees. All were perfectly cooked. Even the squid after a 20 minute drive home was still tender. That means they took the driving time into account when cooking the squid. The tamarind duck was delicious, not greasy at all yet still tender and juicy. The Pad Woon Sen chicken was actually nice and hot, as I requested. First Thai place in town to take me seriously on the heat. Bunn shrimp was nice and tender. The fresh roll was crisp and the dipping sauce very tasty. The fish cakes were nice. I really liked the mini steamed buns. They were a perfect little bite. The spicy vegetable dumplings were well made. The spring rolls were very tasty too. If you look at my other reviews you will see I am a chef of 30 years and very picky. lol So when I say I look forward to trying many of their other dishes it's no exaggeration. read more

I will say that this thai food has been pretty decent. There's flavor to the food, so that's good. The crab racoon had flavor and is creamy and crispy like it should be. I would recommend this. The chicken pad see ew wasn't plain, so I'm glad for that. The portion is good and lots of chicken. I would recommend this. Thai ice tea was good, but not as sweet as I'm used to. Still would recommend. The mango sticky rice was probably the biggest disappointment for me. The icing and black rice was a bit plain. I'm used to having sweet icing that doesn't look like yogurt on my sticky rice. The mango was delicious! I don't recommend this unless you like something that doesn't have too much flavor. Overall, this isn't too bad for a thai place in columbus. I still do miss my thai food elsewhere, but this will suffice for now. It's nice to try something new, but I would recommend ordering one item first instead of a few just to save you money and time and taste buds. read more

I'll be frank with you. I wasn't planning on coming here the other day as I wanted to try Jiu Thai's Phad Thai per Linda E.'s recommendation but they are closed Mondays. To make a long story short... I'm not on the fence about the Bamboo Cafe anymore as I stated in my first review. I'm taking a liking to this little hole in the wall and I'm bumping it up to an almost solid 4 stars. (3.8) The Phad Thai at the Bamboo Cafe is among the better dishes I've had. There were some great flavors here with a nice balance of noodles, vegetables, shrimp, sweet, spicy and heat. I opted for shrimp, medium spicy plus and they pretty much had it spot on. There were several big, good quality shrimp mixed in with the noodles. Although it tasted very good, I added a little extra fish sauce and some of the left over peanut sauce from my spring rolls and that brought it up a notch to about perfect. Some hot Jasmine tea and a couple Viet Namese spring rolls rounded out my lunch. The spring rolls by the way were medium sized, freshly made and had three shrimp each in them. They came with some peanut dipping sauce which was very good. A big additional plus here is that the ladies are so nice and polite. They really make you feel welcome. The only con: One thing that is keeping me from going all the way up to 5 stars is the portion size. Once again, while the food and service are excellent, the portions are not too generous for the money. read more

Always delicious, fast and easy pickup. People on phone are very nice and the food is excellent. I enjoy the Tom yum soup and pad kee mao.

This restaurant is usually consistently good, but I ordered the papaya salad yesterday, and it was almost inedible. I think perhaps they used an unripe papaya? Not sure, but nothing about it was pleasant--not the taste, the mouth feel, etc. And I was really looking forward to papaya salad. I had to throw it out. I'm giving it three stars instead of one star because the rest of the food we ordered was good--pad thai, coconut soup, stir-fry broccoli. read more

Delicious meal and probably my favorite in Columbus that ive tried! Tom Yum is my favorite so why not try Tom Yum fried rice? Excellent food and fresh ingredients. You have to pay for extra noodles and honestly didn't think much extra was added. Tofu in our panang curry tasted like it had just come out of the box :/ read more

Cute little restaurant. Friendly and attentive service. We came for dinner and split the fresh roll (nice crunch and light flavor) I had the pad see ew with chicken. It was delicious and fairly spicy, I ordered it medium heat. Hubs had the green curry spicy. Loads of flavor and packed with heat. He loved it!! Will come back and try other items! read more

First time visiting after reading all the wonderful reviews. This place is only open for take out at the moment. I called in to place my order, the lady on the phone didn't ask if I want to order lunch or dinner and I assumed since it's during lunch hour(12:28pm) I'm ordering lunch sz. Drove over to pick up my order to discover I was charged for dinner sz. I didn't want to make it hard as the look probably already done with my order so I didn't complain about the dinner prices. Left a tip of $4 too. Here is the review for the food. Tom Yum, delicious and spicy as requested. Massamsn curry, super water down and it's barely mild, even my kid can eat it. Red curry, I haven't ordered a red curry that looks like yellow curry(see the atttached pic), again it's super water down and not spicy at all. Pad see ew, ouch, there's only one word to describe it.....salty. The recipe clearly stated I ordered everything to be spicy except for the noodle so the order was correct, the food just wasn't cook right. It's like they have several cooks and only the soup chef is doing a great job. Very disappointed at this restaurant and with so many great Thai restaurants in Columbus we'll probably not return again, such a waste of our money. read more

This spot is one of many options on bethel for Asian food. Tucked in a corner in a strip mall plaza this place seems like your run of the mill Asian places, and it is. Open later than some of the other places around, 9PM during COVID, it offers some "late night" takeout. I have never been here before and was craving soup so I got some Tom Yum with chicken. The takeout portion is pretty generous. At first taste it's sweet and spicy. Unfortunately that's about all there is. It's not very flavorful, the sweetness is too much and the level of spice is also a bit much. You will want this soup to be more sour and bright but it's not. There were some sad vegetables and pieces of lemongrass. Lemongrass is inedible and stalky so watch out, you will need to pick it out. There were 3 pieces of chicken in the container, they were large but awkward to eat. While the service was friendly enough the food does not deliver. There are so many places around here that are truly special, Bamboo Thai is not one of them. Based on the soup I would probably not give them a another chance, unless I was really craving some late night food and everywhere else was closed. read more

The food was amazingly good food and the ladies were very friendly, fast and helpful. The food was a bit spicy for me but hey I ordered it that way so I'm the one to blame. I guess most places don't really make it spicy but let me tell you, at this place if you ask for spicy it's gonna be a generous amount of spice. The restaurant itself is really nice, clean and a good place to dine in and the service was impeccable. I'd definitely come back and recommend this if you're looking for a spicy lunch or dinner!! read more

I am so full because I could not stop eating, but I don't feel guilty at all. The chicken was so fresh and all white breast meat and the vegetables we're perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crunch. I had medium spice on everything and it was just enough to make your nose run and linger on your tongue for a few minutes. This spot is a real gem and I honestly would have never noticed it tucked back in the strip mall. Thanks fellow Yelpers! read more

Some of the best and only Thai food in this whole city. Best value because they aren't wasting money with serves and staff. Don't have to worry about being guilted into tipping. Food is still piping hot when you bring it home. This is how take out should be. No BS. The pineapple fried rice is incredible and HUGE portion. Don't listen to the lazy reviews. This place is it. read more

Great Pad Thai and Spring Rolls, would go again for sure! Didn't eat in, but did take out!

Bamboo Cafe was pretty good. It might be the best Thai restaurant in Columbus. The inside is filled with bamboo and other Thai decorations which feel pretty relaxing. It has lots to choose from but almost all entrees can be served with choice of meat or tofu. The hottest spice is still not that bad so you should choose it. I ordered the red curry rice with the tom kha soup. It's about $10 to $15 for an appetizer plus an entree. This is kind of expensive but the food is worth it. It was served with the maximum spice level. The red curry rice was hot but not too spicy. It was served with firm and fresh tofu. The tom kha soup had a nice mild spice. It has some extra hot sauce on the table so you can adjust it. The sriracha made the red curry rice even better. I recommend Bamboo Cafe for those who like Thai or anything spicy. It's a large menu but it's easy to follow by choosing protein and spiciness. This is the best restaurant in this strip mall so try it when you are there. read more

I have been on the fence to try thai cuisine in columbus from a very long time. I say that, because i have tried something substandard and that had discouraged me over a very long time. I believe bamboo thai was recommended to me by couple of people. This place offers some of the optimally spiced dishes like their tom yum fried rice, tom yum soup, spicy dumplings and oh my god! That pad kra kow with beef was just home made i guess and felt so happy having each morsel of it. Indoors of this restaurant is a modest looking one, but food i bet you will love it or surely order it for to go. This place has now been bookmarked whenever i crave for thai! Tom yum soup 4/5 Pad Kra Kow 4/5 Tom yum fried rice 4/5 Spicy dumplings 5/5 Thanks to the chef for some amazing artwork with your spices! read more

Best Thai food that I've had so far in Columbus! Easy and fast to go ordering process, always warm by the time we get home. Be aware their spice levels are HOT. Even the medium was hotter than others I've had but still delicious and even better with a Singha beer. Go tos are always the Tom Kha Gai soup, Pad Thai and Drunken Noodle with tofu. Can't go wrong with Bamboo Thai! read more

Just a quick review to show mad love to, probably, the best Pad Kee Maow aka Drunken Noodles in Columbus! Non oversized noodles, lots of crisp charred veggies and perfectly cooked protein, and a balanced (mild) spicy sauce that isn't mostly oil like at some places. Calamari app was good with the dipping sauce, despite the under seasoned tempura batter. If I can just convince them to add Khao Soi to the menu this may be my new go to. Either way, I'll be back. read more

This was a pretty authentic Thai food experience! I ordered the tofu Panang curry on a super cold and rainy day in Columbus. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors in the curry! We have tried take-out 3 times in the past month and it has been consistently very good! This will be our new go-to Thai restaurant.

Small, casual Thai spot serving delicious simple food from a strip mall location. We started with the Tom Kha soup with tofu which had just the right amount of heat. Entrees were both curry dishes and were served piping hot and delicious! The "medium" spice level here is perfect, unlike other places were it is actually atomic. I never leave reviews but felt compelled to leave a review for Bamboo Thai Kitchen because I have slept on this place for years. Within the last few weeks I finally tried this place & it is the bomb! I am a huge fan of Tom Yum soup & theirs is the best I've tried in Columbus. Great flavor & spice level. The Pad Thai, fried rice, & curry are also very delicious. Because of COVID, they are only doing take out but the staff is very friendly & your order is prepared within 10-15 minutes. I look forward to trying more items on the menu. read more

I've eaten here several times over the past few years. The food has always been good but yesterday, the service was terrible enough that we will never return. A group of 12 of us arrived between about 12:15-12:30. They promptly brought over glasses of water and set up the tables for us and then ignored us for the next 45 minutes, waiting on all the smaller groups of people who arrived after us. One of us walked up to one of the wait staff to order appetizers so at least we'd have those and those didn't arrive, either. This woman was ready to walk out but they said the appetizers were coming, so she stayed. It was still a while until we got those appetizers. We finally got our food around 1:45 (at all different times) and when I left the restaurant at 2:15, we still hadn't gotten our checks so I left enough cash to cover my own lunch and NO TIP. (For all I know, my friends are still there, waiting for their checks.) OK, we were a big group that showed up unexpectedly but typically restaurants can handle an occasional large group. Clearly, Bamboo Thai couldn't. They should have given us the appetizers free and apologized. They did neither and that is unforgivable. I know I won't go back and I doubt that any of my colleagues will either. BTW, we all go out to eat often and have families, too, so counting all that, Bamboo Thai has lost a lot of future business. read more

Very nice Thai inspired/themed decor. The classic jazz playing throughout caught my attention, but it's perfect for making the mind and body relax. I tend to always try a Thai restaurant's Papaya Salad. However, and it turned out to be a perfect decision, I opted for Bamboo Cafe's MANGO Salad to start. It was lush and fruity-sweet. Better flavor than green papaya. Insanely addictive - I'd eat this dish every day, thank you very much. Two goals with this evening Thai meal: 1) try something new, and 2) make sure the dish has a good array of veggies. So many veggies offered for #61, and it was new to my tongue, so it won out. This dish has a good amount of small pineapple pieces (all be it, I think, based on the shape, they came from a can not freshly chopped). It was a good yin to the chicken and brown sauce's yang. 100% elated with all the veggies! Yes, I agree with many that the price is slightly high for the quality/quantity. If it were a bit lower, I'd be in serious trouble. But, I can see myself stopping back here. Shoot, I'd come back for the Mango Salad alone!! read more

I've been slowly making my way through all of the awesome restaurants in this strip mall, and after getting a craving for some Thai food, I figured I'd check another one off my list. Bamboo Cafe has some odd hours on Sunday, opening at 1 pm, but it's definitely worth the wait even if you have some hangover induced hunger from the night before. The inside is fairly small and has plants lining the walls and corners, and it's a really nice and cozy place. It smelled a little odd, but I think it was from cleaning supplies, and it slowly went away. Our server was very nice, and he was the only one for the entire place, which started to fill up gradually, but he was attentive and even helped suggest some dishes. We tried the chicken curry puffs for an appetizer, and they were good, but you only get 4 very small bites for $6, so I'd probably pass on those next time. I really wanted the Todmun Gai, but they didn't have it then. The menu is pretty extensive, so it may take you awhile to settle on something, and I ended up going with the Pla Lad Prik, which is a pretty common Thai seafood dish. It came out quick and was delicious! The presentation was pretty neat too, and you get a whole lot of mild fried fish covered in all sorts of veggies and sauces. You can change the spice level, so naturally I went spicy, but it could have used a bit more of a kick. Overall though, this was a really good dish. My girlfriend had the Kuey Tiew Nam and really loved that. It's a Thai noodle soup, and I really liked it as well. She was trying to get something similar to the Thai Noodle Soup from Nida's, and this was pretty close. I'm not sure that it was quite as good though. We both agreed that we'd be coming back here. I see a lot of reviews of people being surprised at how good the food is, which is great, but I'm not sure why since this little strip is filled with great restaurants. The toughest part would be choosing which one to go to, but if you're in the mood for some Thai, this place has a large menu and some delicious food. read more

Chicken Pad Thai, chicken peanut satay, crab Rangoon! All delicious!!! Reasonable price for the amount of Pad That's!

I went only because I heard the Pho was good, and wanted to try it. I thought it was pretty good, and I was full afterwards. There was a good ratio of meat to noodles, although they didn't have tendon or tripe. However, $10 was a hefty price tag, so for me and a friend plus tip it was around $24. Very hefty for Pho and I don't think I will go back to pay that much when I can get a similar bowl on Lane Ave at Asian Noodles for $7.25. Freshness of the sprouts was about 6 out of 10. Everything else was okay, but nothing to justify a $10 price tag. read more

First I want to say this was one of our favorite Thai restaurants since we moved to Columbus 5 years ago. We do carry out from here often because we loved the freshness of the food. Unfortunately tonight I found a roach in my Tom Kha soup. I was grossed out to say the least. I called the restaurant and I told them I found a roach in my soup. No response. I said did you hear me and the lady got flustered. She said oh sorry. Then more silence. I asked to get another soup and she made a big deal about finding my ticket. And told me to come in 15 minutes. When I got there I brought the roach in a plastic baggie and the soup. She quickly took it and gave me the soup and said quickly. Sorry. Then turned away to get more orders. Now there is a way to handles this kind of situation to make the customer happy. Maybe refund my money. Maybe say next time you come in the meal is on us or some kind of compensation. It makes me sad that I will never order from Bamboo Kitchen again. Especially because of Covid-19 and restaurants having a difficult time. I like to support our local small restaurant. But this was handled so poorly and who knows if there are more roaches running around. If you order from there I'd check my food before I eat it. read more
