Seafood combination clay pot
Jenn B.

We were in the mood for sushi tonight so decided to try Bamboo Garden, my husband and I had checked out their online sushi menu. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess and seated at a booth with menus. Unfortunately they no longer serve sushi. We looked over the menu and I decided to try something I've never tried. Our server took our drink order which was a bottle of Cabernet wine. I ordered the combination clay pot and my husband ordered the seafood combination clay pot. I honestly was a little worried because it has fish sauce in it and that can be a powerful flavor. Our dinners were brought out and they were absolutely delicious. The seasoning was so tasty, my combination had shrimp, beef, pork and chicken in it along with broccoli, mushrooms, baby corn and bok choy as well as bamboo shoots but the rice on the bottom was so good it was actually crispy rice...just delicious!! The inside of restaurant was very clean and the bar look good with the pink lights. Everyone was very friendly and we will definitely be back again. But just a heads up to everyone "They do not have Sushi"!

Combination fried rice

First time here. I got the combination fried rice, rocket shrimp, and Thai iced tea as takeout. The food was pretty good and the food was ready when I arrived. The only complaints I have were that the boba in my Thai tea were more gummy than I've ever had, not in a great way. Also when I arrived they were pretty much empty but the only two servers were at a single table, nobody at the desk, a younger girl behind the bar unaware of anything outside her phone screen, and a guy toward the kitchen watching the tv and ignoring he saw me waiting. Still not enough to dissuade me from revisiting at some point.

Chicken wings with Sweet and Chili Sauce on the side.

For a cold and breezy day like today. Soup and wings were the right choice. It was a win-win because it was delicious, tasty and surprisingly fresh! The soup was clear and perfectly steaming hot just right for this weather to keep me warm--at least until I get back outside lol. As for the wings they were lightly breaded, cooked to perfection with a tangy but mouthwatering of spicy and sweet chili sauce that danced at my pallet with enough contrast of sweetness with a hint of spice that married both sweet and chili excellently. Lastly, the waitress was very soft spoken, friendly and attentive. Great experience at this place. It is very clean. I was here about 4 years ago and the inside has now been revamped and updated--looks a lot nicer and bigger.

Holy MOLLEY!!! This place is awesome. Got a pickup. Asked them "Do they really serve spicy food in Ormond!??" The the girls at the register laughed. This place truly impresses. Awesome noodles. INCREDIBLE prices. The app sampler was perfect. Lots of tasty sauces included. I got Phò as well (again I didn't think you could get this stuff in Florida). One of the best takeout presentations to date. I played it up for my wife like we're Dining out and watching a movie and she loved it. Our new Go-to for Thai/Viet. Nicely done

Came in for lunch with my mom after the beach. I ordered brisket pho with veggies and my mom ordered the clay pot both were delicious! I wish they had this good of Asian food in new Smyrna can't wait to come back.

We had an excellent dinner here. It's Vietnamese with a few other Asian offerings to please the locals. We started by sharing their "soft" spring roll (aka summer roll). We got it with shrimp only (leaving out the pork). It came with peanut sauce. It was tightly wrapped and good. My husband had their pork rice noodle salad bowl -- with lots of thinly sliced cooked pork on top of bean sprouts, salad greens, and rice noodles. The sweet vinegar sauce was served on the side. He liked his dish. I tried one of their clay pot dishes. I've usually had this dish with fish (which they had) but decided to try it with pork. It's an acquired taste - not as spicy or peppery as they say. But more savory. It's basically a lot thinly sliced cook pork and the sauce with a few scallions. It was excellent. A small bowl of white rice was served on the side -- which I used to sop up all the remaining sauce. I'd definitely go back here again -- if ever in the area. The menu is large and has some different dishes I'd like to try.

Best spring Rolls in Volusia county. Peanut sauce is flavorful, not too sweet and on point.

We were served individually. It's rude that one person is eating while everyone else at the table is starring at the only one eating. The pricing matches with the tourist prices. Pad Thai was sour and salty. Sauce was very overwhelming. It was like eating linguini. Pho was salty and watered down. Bone broth wasn't rich. Com thit suong heo was on the drier side when it's suppose to be juicy from the oil it's cooked in. The fried rice with the Cornish hen wasn't juicy or moist. When you bite into the crispy skin and into the meat, it was very overrated. From the background music and the decor, the ambiance is very on point with Vietnam.

This pho really was missing flavor. It tasted like hot water. I never doctor my pho up, and this one I added a bunch of hoisin sauce and sprouts and basil lemon and lime and still couldn't find flavor in it. I gave my chicken to my dog bc he loves chicken and at least there was pork and shrimp for me but the bowl flavor yea definitely lacking. I had left overs which I usually love but I haven't touched it. The service was ok but the server left and someone else took care of us and gave us the check. So it was not out of this world service. The atmosphere is a bit old and run down The parking lot was also too dark.

This is different, this is the real deal. You look at their menu and know it's legit at once--then there are the desserts which are also legit and remarkably so--very welcome. My bun bowl with skewered grilled pork and spring roll was absolutely perfect. Like, it seriously could not have been any better. Adrian, my waiter, was also excellent. My only critique--and it may seem a petty one--is the music was banal, trite, American and British pop hits from the early 2000s. There is so much good Viet pop and other Asian music--K-pop if nothing else--they could play, so why this? I don't want to hear the same music Kohl's plays at a restaurant so magical and delicious. But aside from the bad choice of tunes, this is a gem in full.

Our first visit we had Ashlynn F as our server. We struck up a conversation with her on the first visit and found her to be friendly, professional and knew everything about the food and restaurant. So, as we drove over for our second visit we hoped Ashlynn would be there again. Well, our wish came true and we were greeted by Ashlynn when we walked through the doors. Not only did Ashlynn remember us, where we sat on our first visit but also what we ordered the first time!! Anyway if you want great food, great service and some drinks, with or without alcohol, give Mama's Pho a go and we don't think you'll be disappointed. See you next time Ashlynn

I was able to find parking just down the street, but there is not really a lot of parking in the downtown area of Deland, so be forewarned. The outside is quite unassuming, and as the place only takes up a single "slot" in the row of shops along the main street, it is quite narrow inside. Not a problem for me, as I was alone, so taking up a small table near the entry was not a problem. I was greeted when I walked in and told to sit anywhere, so the small table was perfect for me. Inside is decorated relatively sparsely, but it is appropriate. The menu is what you would expect in pretty much any pho house, if you have been to a few. I went for a standard beef and meatball pho and the summer rolls, as I do love a good summer roll. They of course came out first, and I started in on them as I read my book and waited for the pho to come out. Both dishes were quite good, and if I am in the area I will absolutely be returning. It is a good heartwarming food experience, and in the colder months it is a perfect way to warm up a bit.
